Muchas gracias Nico.
The staff were all fantastic; you feel very comfortable. And the food was excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
We ate there today, and the waiter offered us a cachopo that wasn't on the menu. It was delicious. He served us attentively. The food is very good and the prices aren't expensive. I recommend it.
A very pleasant surprise in the neighborhood! We went for lunch on a Saturday and the waiters gave us excellent service. We ordered the huevos rotos (broken eggs), the fried fish, and the cuttlefish. The huevos rotos were good, with some nice ham. The fried fish was very good; you could tell the fish was fresh (if it was frozen, at least it was well frozen) with a good texture and flavor. Anchovies in fried fish are usually a sign of quality, and these were very good. The dogfish was especially good. The cuttlefish was very good and not at all oily. We were particularly impressed by the size of the portions, which were enormous. We paid 70 euros for the three dishes and two bottles of water. Considering the current economic climate, the quantity, quality, and price were very, very good. It doesn't deserve its low rating. At the other tables, they were serving a set menu with oxtail that looked very tempting. We will definitely be back!
We had dinner tonight to celebrate a birthday. We ordered tapas and it was fantastic, everything was delicious, the service was excellent, the place was welcoming, and the little calendar and shots were the perfect finishing touch. 100% recommended. Thanks Nico, we'll be back.
Nice coffee
Ok
Terraza agradable. Camarero muy amable. Tomamos una caña en la terraza. .
Delicious food and generous portions—you won't leave hungry—but the best thing about it is the service: a professional and efficient waitress. It's important to give positive feedback to good, professional waiters.
Delicious and generous tapas and portions. The price is a little higher, but it's worth it. What I liked least is that they sometimes overdo the batter, as in the case of the tempura cod strips or the eggplant with sesame seeds and honey. The waiters usually serve you well, but it depends on who you get; Paco is by far the best. During the week, the quality is better, both in the portions and the service. They have an open and closed terrace with heaters for the winter.
Stopped in for a snack. The bartender was kind enough to set me up with a tuna tapa, which he selected, and a beer. Afterwards, I ordered an open faced Iberian ham sandwich. Very good. I finished my meal with a coffee with milk. Service was attentive at the bar. The barman answered my question about how they made the tomato spread. He gave his regulars special attention.
Well, inside it's a bit crowded but cozy, then you have to order and pick up your order at the counter, while you see a waiter scaring pigeons instead of helping at least to bring the products to the table, since you also have to pay at the counter.
We met a friend at Don José II. We ordered portions and a grilled meat platter for two. The fried anchovies were very good, the marinated dogfish wasn't bad. We didn't like the garlic shrimp. The grilled meat platter with fries for two people had a good selection: some pieces of entrecote (or similar), chicken breast fillets, marinated pork loin fillets, a couple of lamb chops, some pieces of bacon, some pork that looked like a chop, and chorizo. The variety and quantity were excellent, but nothing stood out in terms of quality. The most acceptable part of the grilled food was the pieces of entrecote. All the portions were quite generous. The waitress's service was very good. The restrooms were very clean. The price-performance ratio seemed a bit disproportionate to us, considering we spent €110 for what we ate, for a normal neighborhood restaurant, and for a fairly average level of food as well.
It's alright.
It was really not that good the food was way to gresy. The restaurant looks unhygienic and the ice cream was melted and refrozen. Don't recomend it...
I just try “huevos rotos” and really it was disappointing. Bad fries (frozen ones), overcook egg , average jamon iberic and 12 euro for a small portion.
The beers are ridiculously overpriced compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. Apparently, if you only order drinks, the tapa is only included with your first drink. The waiters are beyond unfriendly. I asked for the bill three times; there weren't many people on the terrace, and in the end, I had to pay at the door.
The tapa they served us looked awful: some toasted sausages with mayonnaise that were very overcooked and dry. When we politely asked for an exchange, even if it was for some olives or potatoes, the waitress sneered away. And she didn't serve us any tapas. When it came to bringing the bill and collecting our food, her gesture and manner were very unpleasant. We were going to celebrate with family, and we left, of course. In fact, we won't be back. We're from the neighborhood. We've always liked Don José a lot. It's a shame we can't figure out which waitress she is.
