The Fifield Inn Maidenhead Reviews
The Fifield Inn is worth a visit! We visited to celebrate two family birthdays. There were three generations of the family present. During the visit the service was very good. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was all delicious and there was something for everyone. Portion size was generous and meat was tender and meals looked fresh and were well presented. I can recommend the chicken wings in BBQ sauce as a starter and the baby back ribs for a main course. The pork belly bites and ox cheek chili was delicious too.
My husband and I just had a brilliant time here. The food, the wine, the atmosphere and team were just beautiful. Such an enjoyable evening and thank you once more for allowing us to dine after we got lost!! Just delicious and hearty food with excellent service. Loved it!!
Staffs were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Visited there with 2 babies and had a fantastic experience. Food was good and we all had a great time.
Thanks for a warm coffee. :) Place looks so good. I will be back for Sunday Roast. :) Mr Cyclist ;)
This pub has a great vibe and that proper pub feel! Defo recommend a visit.
Pretty good! Will defo visit again
The best French onion soup I have ever had. This is a dish I always order if it’s on the menu.
This inn is an amazing place to eat, and the service was incredible! Maria, our server, was inn-credible and her jokes were top notch! The burgers were yummy and the drinks were very fancy. I would 100% recommend. The pictures are of a local leprechaun enjoying a brownie, and a very happy lady with her apperol spritz.
Good vibes, nice food, polite service.. what more could you ask for 😊💖
I had the roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. Followed by the brioche bread and butter pudding. We'll be back!
Lovely little pub. Community vibe. Food is lovely, not been disappointed thus far. Staff and service has always been really good. Recently we had a Sunday roast and it has been one of the best we have had in a long while!
Always love to come here x Maria is star ⭐️ she is friendly and lovely lady !
Had a lovely meal here tonight at short notice, 8 of us all together, food was lovely, great atmosphere and service, really lovely garden area too! Thank you very much will be coming back :) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all! :)
Went tonight for dinner for the first but definitely not for the last time. Super cute interior with a lot of attention to detail, fantastic garden area with lots of seating available. We had the seabass, which was a bit on the small side portion-wise, but according to my husband amazing (he literally inhaled it), and the fish & chips, which clearly were the very best since we moved to this area three months ago. So glad to see they had a Ruddles on tap! The host and the rest of the staff were extraordinarily friendly, very attentive, and with just the right humour for my taste. I had the Espresso Martini after food, and it was just as good as the rest. We will be new regulars from now on!
Popped in for a drink, stayed for starters as the menu was very appetising. Didn't disappoint. Booked to go back for dinner.
Nice venue, polite and friendly. Top grade service. Can't go wrong any day of the week, food or just drinks your always welcomed like an old friend. They must worked hard to find so many respectful youngsters. Well done guys keep up the good work.
Went for a Christmas meal with friends and families, around 20 of us including 8 children under 3. Food, service, atmosphere all great, nothing was too much trouble, and very well priced. 100% recommended, will be going back.
Fantastic pub very friendly and helpful staff a great wide range of drinks exceptionally clean and tidy. Very well kept and well decorated. Food was fantastic service was speedy and the prices where very reasonable under new ownership and the new owners seem to really understand the values of what customers want and expect rather than just having a pub. Would really reccommend this place for evening out or for a meal.
Amazing food, loved it, very nice atmosphere and great staff
We held a party for 22 people here. Great food enjoyed by all. Lovely atmosphere. Dog friendly. Car park is small but plenty of free parking on road nearby.
I go to a pub or restaurant primarily for the food and drink. Everything else is secondary. From this point of view, the food we ate was excellent. The mussels were really tasty and went well with the white wine and French fries. Latter portion was a bit on the small side, but overall I think the place deserves a 5* rating.
Lovely friendly place. Staff are excellent, and the food was very tasty. Outside space is outstanding.
I first popped in last Thursday to book a table for my Uncle's birthday. Laura was exceptional, she reserved us the quietest table to suit my Uncle's hearing ability, thank you, you're amazing. We both very much enjoyed our Sunday roast chicken and lamb, very tasty, large perfect sized portions. Desserts followed, very nice too. We could not fault the food and enjoyed it. The service was perfect, food came quickly, staff were lovely, very welcoming, very attentive, all in a relaxing and welcoming environment. It was great to try somewhere new, I look forward to returning ASAP. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend! Accommodated a table of 14 with 24hrs notice. A slight wait on food but they advised us of this and to be honest as a table of 14 we didn't really notice. Food was well presented and very tasty. We all looked at the Christmas menu and if it wasn't a 3hr drive for some of us we would have been booking in!! Amazing find!!
Great food, great service and amazing people. I would highly recommend this lovely pub to everyone I see. From start to finish me and my family were impressed
We picked this pub at random as we happened to be close by for an event. There was a good choice of specials , the food was simply delicious , fairly priced and with great service. Thank you!
The Fifield Inn has restored my faith in pub food! It ticks all the boxes of quality, value and service. My family and I enjoyed a delicious meal on an impromptu stop on a Monday night, the staff were courteous and prompt, the food delicious, and at an excellent price too. Well done, we will be back 😀
Went here with my family for sunday dinner there was 6 of us, i had roast chicken which was lovery and ice cream for a pudding . The staff were lovery and very helpful not sure if there was a childerns menu as we had a 2y old with us but i hope we all go back
On Saturday the 29th March myself and 40+ guests arrived at the Fifield Inn. We had just attended the internment of my late wife's ashes at a local cemetery. I had initially approached Arun (the landlord) to see if they could meet my needs of sandwiches, pastries, tea, coffee and drinks for my guests. Not only were my requirements met, my expectations were surpassed. The Fifield Inn staff, Arun, James the chef, Maria and Dylan could not have been better, the service provided was to a very high standard. two guests had allergy issues, this was not a problem for the team. I wholeheartedly recommend the Fifield Inn for anyone who may be looking for this service.
A lovely Inn and a very good meal. A cut above other pub restaurants. The lady who served us was very nice
1st Time here. My daughter chose for her 21st family meal. Had a fantastic time, the food was superb, live singer was great. The owner and staff were so accommodating. Atmosphere was 5☆
Super friendly staff and manger an all round host. Couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable after a long day at Legoland. Food was amazing, and great value for portion size. Lovely location and great outdoor seating. Patio heaters were a blessing for our exhausted little one
Our second visit in three weeks. Absolutely excellent food and service, convivial but quiet enough atmosphere, and good value for money given the quality of the food. Well worth going out of your way to find this gem. Congratulations and thanks to all the staff and especially the kitchen. We will DEFINITELY be back again!
All very good. Had a birthday Sunday lunch and staff were excellent with good allergy knowledge. Nice touches with a personalised birthday card and glass of fizz. It has changed my opinion since my last review and will certainly be going back soon.
A wonderful local pub! We’ve come here quite a lot over the years. It was my Grandmothers favourite pub and one of her last wishes before she died was to go there for a meal. Sadly she never made it, but the pub owner was so kind in offering to cook her whatever she wanted. That kind of customer service is greatly appreciated. Would highly recommend!
Birthday meal for my wife last night (Saturday) and it was great. Lovely outside seating area, great atmosphere, not pretentious but smart enough to feel better than your average pub by far. Great choice of food and drinks and very reasonably priced. We shared various things including a vegetable pizza, chicken tenders, calamari and triple cooked chips. All the other food that was being served looked superb and I look forward to returning to try the rest of their menu. The service was spot on at the end of what was no doubt a very hot busy day!
Amazing atmosphere, been down there a good few times now and each visit is just as welcoming. They have a great selection of drinks and the food is amazing. Would highly recommend going down for a Sunday lunch or even if its to sit in their lovely beer garden. Would advise ordering the pork belly bites, delicious!!!
This delightful location is a no brainer. The level of attention to detail is top class. They even came out to the garden to offer coasters to stop any stray bugs landing in my pint. How cool is that. Thank you.
What a little gem this place is. Food was amazing. A Sunday lunch like no other. Staff where so friendly and accommodating. The only down side was the parking, it could do with more spaces as the food is so good everyone wants to eat there
Really nice place to visit and eat in the garden on a sunny day. Good food and decent menu.
Pan fried mushroom were not as warm as they could be, then greated cheese, (not melted) could not taste any tarragon or garlic. Not a great starter. Main was fish and chips. Great chips, lots of garden peas, fish was ok, bit on the small side, but none the less fair value. But overall a good pub, tables were not very clean and sticky. Toilets were ok. Service 8/10 Food 5/10 Cleanliness 5/10 Atmosphere 7/10 Would possibly go back. First visit......Great value roast. Meat was nice and tender (Beef) maybe another slice would be good. The vegetables were tasty, good amount of gravy and roast potatoes were ok. Similar price to Toby but a lot better quality. Will go back.
We were here before food was officially served, but they still cooked us some bacon rolls to go with our coffee.
Sadly in attentive staff, drinks didn't arrive after a 10 minute wait so had to chase them up, when the food was ordered only 3 of the 4 meals arrived so the other person had to wait at least another 10+ minutes for their Pizza (but no charge). Food was average & I felt embarrassed as I said a country pub has to be doing something right to survive in the current climate and I got friends to drive from High Wycombe & George Green to meet here. We won't be returning anytime soon.
We ate here yesterday as a large group having pre-ordered via email from a set menu.On arrival we were told that they had not received our order and the menu we chose from was not correct. The lady who took our orders was curt and impatient and not personable at all. Some items on the menu were apparently sharing items but it did not state this and food choices were questioned in a rude manner. When the food arrived it was totally delicious and the serving staff were lovely and helpful Unfortunately our food order was not correct and it took quite a long time for the correct order to arrive. Our second round of drinks was not delivered fully and it was necessary to remind staff we were still waiting for some items, The overall experience was disappointing and we were left feeling that the lady serving us may be in the wrong profession. We are unlikely to return
The food was fairly good, but conversation was extremely difficult due to the TV being on at full volume playing football. There were one or two people watching it but the rest of the very busy pub had to shout at the top of their voice to be heard. It is a nice pub with nice staff but it was ruined by the noise level.
The place is a really nice environment and the staff were lovely but it took over an hour to bring out food that had been pre-ordered days before. Portions were pretty mean and just poor value. Several folks from our party of ten left with their food to eat at their desk. I feel sorry for the staff because they're obviously trying to do their best but the place seems just poorly run.
An hour wait for 5 roasts and a salad in a restaurant that was at 50% capacity is very poor. Anemic potatoes that needed another 20-30 minutes in the oven and vegetables missing from the advertised menu. Better roasts and pubs within a small radius of the Fifield Inn , we won’t be back.
If your reason for visiting this pub was the beautiful menu on the website - especially the well labelled dietaries catering to many diverse needs - then don’t waste your time. The staff said the menu on the site is a sample menu, but it’s an outright folly… the real menu leaves a lot to be desired and is distinctly below average. And the ambience was lacking, leaving no reason to stay.
I don’t like to write reviews like this but I feel I have to on this occasion. This pub has been destroyed!!! Not a patch on its former traditional self . Came here for a quick meal and from the start it was freezing cold inside, everyone wearing coats , even the waitress had a scarf wrapped round her . The place was like a community centre . Kids screaming and running around . Foul language coming from the bar area, and any kind of service for food was extremely slow . Wobbly old tables and just all round nasty place . What a missed opportunity to make a really nice country pub . Highly NOT recommended.
Really disappointed. Went for Xmas dinner. Served the wrong main course. The main what I received was like having a kids meal. 1 slice of pork. 1 sweet mash potato , 4 brussell sprouts, 4 sliced pieces of carrot. Then found a long hair in food. Was served the pudding what looked to be nice but didn't fancy eating after this piont.
