Rick's on Main Main St. Reviews
Honestly best food in western New York large portions very delicious and a classy restaurant.
A great lunch spot in a charming location. In warm weather the patio is fabulous. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and the professionalism of the staff was remarkable. We recommend this restaurant and encourage business to make sure it's successful for many future visits to come. A very special experience.
Food was absolutely amazing. The mashed potatoes are great. The portion size was impressive. Comfortable setting and nice waiter we had. He was very friendly and professional. We went on 3/16/24. First time there and can't wait to go back. I got the pork chop on the bone. It was amazing.
Great place to eat in East Aurora. Great food, great drinks.
favorite restaurant hands down, me and my husband go often. the filet and crab cakes are our usual go to, yum
The waitress Curlz was fantastic! The food was great and the rest of the staff were wonderful! I had the Fall Creek salad, and it was amazing.10 out of 10, I would recommend it!!
We heard about this place through the owners parents. We dined at Rick’s in August 19th 2024 and had Shawn as our server. We highly recommend Shawn as he was very nice and informative as well as knowledgeable about the menu and the background on all the different options we were looking at. He would highly recommend this place to anyone as it is top notch and has great food! Watch out though ceiling lamps are low, if you are over 6’4 beware lol! Thanks to Shawn and Rick’s on Main for a great meal and wonderful night!
Rick's lives up to their reputation of excellence. The food, presentation, atmosphere and service are 5 star. We booked the igloo experience and it was awesome!
One of our new favorite restaurants! The food was unbelievable, we had one the best tables in the place with a little view of everything coming out of the kitchen, drinks we strong and delicious, complimentary valet, and the service was fast! Can't wait to go back!
This place was great! We found it on a whim. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the decor is really cool. It is a little pricey, but it is a nice evening out and we felt that the price was justified. Will definitely be going back. Try the creme brûlée trio for dessert. Light and shareable.
1st off, our server, Justin’s hospitality was on another level. He was extremely timely, concise, and made us feel so welcome, as well as the rest of the staff. 2nd, the foooooooood. Holy moly—they were perfectly portioned, cooked like home, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. Quite obvious that there was plenty of thought put into the entire restaurant in general. This was our 1st experience, and one of the very few impeccable dining experiences I’ve personally ever had. We appreciate your existence. Expect to see us again in the near future.
Service was incredible with a great ambience and atmosphere. We were there for a nice company dinner so we're able to splurge a bit and try a variety of items. Descent sized menu. We ordered a handful of different appetizers that were delicious. They have a nice balance of steak, chicken, seafood for entrees that were absolutely fantastic. Dessert options were great as well. Prices of drinks and menu items I thought were very reasonable for the exceptional food and customer experience.
Amazing!! High quality everything perfect place for that special dinner!
Had a Christmas party in the upper room food was fantastic service is great highly recommended
Great food, friendly service, and outdoor dining if you'd prefer. It's on the expensive side of things, but you definitely get what you pay for! Expect to spend about $80-120 per person depending on what you're drinking.
Had a very nice dinner here last weekend. The Seafood Risotto was amazing, with generously-sized scallops and shrimp. Filet and ribeye were well seasoned and delicious as well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - the space gives off a very cozy personable ambience, the real fireplace is a great touch!
1st time there. Had the Fall Salad and Vegetarian Flatbed pizza. Both were really good. Fresh, loaded with extra ingredients. Salad had nuts and cheese as the protein. Vinaigrette excellent. Hats off to the chef! Service from all staff was exceptional as well. Ate el fresco, location fun, across from an unbelievable old style 5 and dime store! Upscale neighborhood. Wonderful lunch. Suggestion to chef/owner: please create a protein rich sandwich for vegetarians
We went here on our baby moon a couple of weeks ago (and a few times before that) the calamari was amazing and the steak to die for. We were so caught up in the food that we forgot to take pictures. You have to stop here for some amazing food and drinks (which I hope to have again once I give birth, lol)
The wait staff very friendly and the filet was amazing Definitely will be returning. Was pricey but you get what you pay for and was worth every bit.
The food is amazing! We went to celebrate so many great things happening in our lives lately. I think this is my new favorite restaurant ever. It's so good. We got crab cakes and Thai chili shrimp for appetizers and seafood risotto and shared it all. There were just so many things that sounded delicious We couldn't decide. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff took such good care of us. It was very lovely!
Perfectly cooked medium rare Wagyu strip. I assume the chef went light on the seasoning as to let the meat speak for itself, but I could have used a little more flavor. Potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Blueberry martini was delicious as well. Great place for an anniversary dinner.
Great restaurant! Very good service and pleasant staff. Food was great, a bit pricey but worth it!
Fabulous dinner! Haven't been and quite a while and it was so nice to try again. We always get the table that overlooks the dining room. Very private. Loved their version of the Caesar salad and the steak was delicious! The bar was really full so we weren't able to grab a drink there but next time for sure.
We were in the area and just happened to stop in there! Glad we did. Amazing atmosphere, amazing service and excellent food! Highly recommend!!!!
We came here for dinner with friends before going to see the premier of Cold Brook at the Aurora Theater. My boyfriend and I both ordered the seafood risotto which included big portions of lobster, scallops, shrimp, and asparagus. It was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional. It was a cozy and friendly atmosphere. It was a cold night and so nice to have our dinner by the fireplace.
Outstanding. Our server was attentive but not a constant presence. I had the lobster pasta. The noodles were large and almost looked homemade. They were much larger than store bought linguini. The sauce was excellent. If I had one complaint it was that the asparagus was a bit overcooked. My hubby had a flatiron steak special with delicious truffle fits and grilled zucchini. We finished dinner with a strawberry shortcake for me and an Irish Espresso for him.
Dinner on the porch, can't beat it. Variety of cocktails and beer. Service is efficient and friendly. One of the best Negroni's around. Seafood risotto and wild mushroom chicken tortellini were both excellent.
We had a party of 7 and everyone had a different item and they were all prepared expertly. Our server was very accommodating with a handicapped person in our party. If I lived there I would make that place a favorite spot.
My husband and I went here this past Tuesday night on a mini vacation we planned for our 2 year wedding anniversary! The steak and the pork chop were amazing. The cocktails were delicious. The dessert was the best dessert we’ve had in a long time. Our server was knowledgeable and just the right amount of attentiveness. She even wished us a Happy Anniversary from our reservation note we didn’t tell her. Attention to detail is clear here. We will be back!
Had a wonderful lunch experience- all plates were delicious and servings and side dishes were ample: Lobster roll, daily hamburger special and Grilled chicken and Artichoke salad. My only complaint was that the noise level was way too loud for me. Noise level dropped a bit when customers began leaving.
My wife and I were first timers for Valentine’s Day and it was near perfect. It’s not often we get out and have quality time together and this place made our night. The atmosphere was very calm and cozy, our server Sean was phenomenal. His attentiveness, attention to detail and professionalism was on point the entire time. Next, the food was amazing, we had the banana pepper dip, crab cakes, Caesar salad and I got the filet, she got the lobster tail stuffed with crab meat. I am a huge food/restaurant critic and it did not disappoint from start to finish. We will 100% be back on repeat. Thank you for the wonderful evening!
Rick's On Main Is A Fantastic Choice For An Upscale Dinner. We Went For Our 12th Anniversary & Were Blown Away At The Delicious Food. The Stuffed Pepper Dip In A Bread Bowl Is Out Of This World & Is Very Filling On Its Own. My Wife Enjoyed The Seafood Risotto While I Took On The 24oz Molasses Glazed & Grilled Cowboy Steak. Everything Was Fantastic From The Service To The Food. We Will Be Back!
We just had another wonderful visit to Ricks, they do not disappoint. For starters the lilac blueberry martini is both yummy and beautiful by far a win in my book! To start we had Caesar salad- the romaine lettuce was crisp, tomatoes fresh , croutons freshly made and the dressing flavorful. I had the seafood Risotto tonight , it proved to be a good decision! The Risotto was perfectly cooked, creamy with a ton of flavor and just the right amount of seafood. The seafood it self was not overcooked which made it a pleasure to eat. I left with my togo bag being unable to finish my dinner…feel remorseful that I was to full for dessert! Next time I will avoid the yummy bread!
We enjoyed our dinner in a private igloo on Rick’s front patio. I was nervous it would be cold or damp, but the igloo is so well appointed! There were space heaters, an air purifier and a Bluetooth speaker, along with lights and beautiful table decor. It was a very special and romantic experience! If you have a chance to book an igloo, we highly recommend it. Other top recommendations would be Rick’s sangria, the surf and turf, the crème brûlée and the raspberry jelly donut cheesecake.
Great experience. I think the dress code should be upped some, no hats, collar shirt, don't look you just came from hanging drywall. Not a big ask when paying $200+ for 2 people. Other than that, comparable to black and blue restaurant. Relaxed, but higher end food! Again, a little dress code, or myself and others might move on.. highly recommend to take the wifey for a nice meal! This restaurant has amazing specials that pull you away from the traditional filet/lobster tail. Best sea bass I ever had!
We have been to this restaurant three times now - The food has been excellent each time. In all honesty, the seafood risotto is probably the best dish I have ever been served in a restaurant.
We had a great time, the atmosphere is excellent. Bartender was very talented, and very fast. Our waiter was very nice and kind, but didn't blow us away. My wife's seafood risotto was excellent, would say it was a five-star dish. My steak was four star, not the best I've ever had but definitely over average. The crab cakes were the best I've ever had in my life! Would definitely return, very excited for our next outing to come to Rick's on Main!
I just visited for the first time a few weeks ago and was so pleased! The food was incredible, the service was great, and the experience was wonderful overall. Best chicken Milanese I’ve ever had!
It was our first visit and would definitely go back. Food was great, service was good. Kitchen was backed up which took awhile to receive our diner. Overall a good experience, being delayed gave us great opportunities to chat
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner this past weekend. It was my first time, though he had enjoyed a meal here once before. From start to finish, our experience was wonderful. First, our server, Madeline H., was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which really elevated our evening. For our entrées, I ordered the filet with red pepper compound butter, and my boyfriend chose the seafood risotto. We shared both dishes, and each was absolutely delicious. The filet was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth, while the butter added a flavorful spice that I loved. The risotto was incredible as well, with perfectly cooked scallops that were tender and flavorful. For dessert, we decided on the crème brûlée. I was a bit hesitant at first, since sometimes the torched sugar can have a butane flavor, but to my delight, it was perfect. The caramelized top had just the right texture, and the fresh blueberries added a lovely touch. We left full and happy, and I’m already looking forward to our next visit!
Wow!!!!! There's nothing I love more than a meal where you savor every single bite. That describes my first visit to Rick's on Main. The Garlic Herb Steak was so insanely good when accompanied by the mushrooms. The garlic butter and bread were addictive. Trav eling as a single, so I sat at the bar, and the staff was a ten out of ten. I ended the night with an espresso martini that was expertly crafted. There's no doubt I'll return to Rick's during my next visit to East Aurora. Sorry that the first photo is crap, but the meal was incredible.
The most tender and flavorful steak I have ever ate! The meal was fabulous no words canbdescribe how good this meal really was. Go try it, you will not be sorry. The mashed potatoes, asparagus and caramelized onions matched perfectly with the steak. The boom boom shrimp and stuffed banana peppers were ridiculous. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. I wish I would have had room for dessert, as I'm sure it would have been great!
This was my first visit to Rick's on Main and it did not disappoint. This little place is a perfect spot for all occasions. This is an upper class casual place that will hit your pocket book but is well worth the price. My gf and I started off with soup. She had the loaded potato soup and I went with the lobster bisque. Both were excellent. For dinner we both went with steak. I had the wagyu strip and she had the filet. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and were delicious. We ended up saving room for dessert and both of those were a delightful finish to our meals. Our server was very polite, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is laid out neatly with different rooms allowing for similar but different experiences. I do not drink but they have a nice bar area with plenty of options. I definitely look forward to going back to this establishment at some point. If you're in the East Aurora area it's definitely somewhere you should try for a spectacular dinner. This place is a 5 out of 5 stars.
We celebrated 30th anniversary and wanted it to be special. Wife has been here before, my 1st time. Her sea bass, light flaky, perfect cook. Her risotto, delicious. I had the wagyu medium rare. The seasoning was delicious, the sear was a perfect, I mean perfect char. Perfect grill pattern. The green beans were a perfect cook where they still have that snap of freshness. Our waiter, perfect knowledgeable and friendly. Recommend to anyone wishing to find a place with a nice atmosphere for a special occasion. Price is high, but congruent with level of quality.
My shower was absolutely perfect. The food was great and the space was perfect. We had 20-25 girls. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. 10/10 top to bottom. My only complaint is how dark it is upstairs. All of the lighting looked dark and off in pictures so I wish they had better lighting for day time events, instead of just night time dinner lighting. We made the most of it!
Charming place with several beautiful eating spots: inside the tavern-like rooms, by the pub-like bar and outside on a large patio with either sun or shade. Great menu selection with food that is obviously well-planned by excellent chefs. I really enjoyed the chicken and vegetable soup and the flat bread pizza and the turkey club sandwich- delicious special mayonnaise. Will absolutely be back here soon!
First time here. Came with a group for our friend "Smeg's" birthday. Very nice atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff. Had samples of their crab cakes at Taste of East Aurora and are absolutely amazing, so had intentions of coming here at some point and was not disappointed. Food looked beautiful and tasted great! Prices weren't too bad, but it was only the lunch menu. Will definitely be coming back sooner rather then later to try dinner!
Nice upscale restaurant. Noisy downstairs, but we ate upstairs. Good food.
First time at Ricks, I thought it looked like an cute, old fashion house from the outside. When I went inside it there were two dimly lit dining rooms and there was a cool tucked away bar. I ordered the stuffed ricotta chicken with rosemary potatoes and a side of vegetables. For dessert, I ordered a slice of chocolate cake layered with peanut butter. Both were delicious.
Love the atmosphere and staff were great ! Warning!!!! the banana pepper burger tastes pretty good but you’ll regret it later!
Excellent food and fun drinks. We had 2 speciality salads- a beer one and a gogonzola toasted walnut. We had the Lacquered Salmon and Gorgonzola filled. Great sweet potato fries. Interesting autumn cocktail. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Prices were about 15% above market , but otherwise a wonderful meal.
Rick's on Main is definitely a place that everyone should try out. The place is beautiful, and if your into patio dining. Then you are going to throughly enjoy Rick's on Main's patio. I think it has to be, one of the best patios around. The food is good, not world shattering but very decent. As for the cocktails, they are delicious. I also appreciated how great, our waitress( Mattie) was in taking care of us.
Fabulous lunch fare with succulent salads loaded with fresh fruit and vegetables and raspberry vinaigrette dressing drizzled overall. I enjoyed a tenderloin shaved steak sandwich complete with mozzarella and a mild jalapeño dressing. Finishing with a flourless, double chocolate torte accompanied by a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
This restaurant is very cozy and intimate. Great for a special occasion. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to be seated immediately. People tend to dress nicely when coming here, i was meeting a friend after work so i wasn’t able to dress up but they didn’t seem to mind. However some of the locals in the dining room gave us some looks, i guess that’s just East Aurora for you. This place is very expensive and i must say i thought the food was quite average. The calamari is served in a pool of tomato sauce and it ended up being soggy rather than crispy. My friend ordered the cowboy steak which was cooked perfectly. The potato croquettes seemed to lack flavor. My seafood risotto also seemed to lack flavor, it was good, but not $52.95 good. We spent $200 here and i left unimpressed. I wouldn’t say that i don’t recommend this place, because it wasn’t bad, but for a $200 experience i think there might be some better places to go.
We have been in East Aurora quite a bit, as it's smaller town with cool restaurants, shops and more. We decided to stop in at Rick's on Main this trip, as we have never been. It has the best patio seating on Main St. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was pleasant and professional. We happed to stop in for lunch (on a week day) and we were able to get a prime location on the front patio. We ordered the chicken souvlaki salad and the roast beef. The chicken salad was a top five. The meat was grilled to perfection. The roast beef was marginal (in my opinion) as it seemed a little bland and was too well done for my liking. The indoor space is nice and the bar has a cozy feel. We will come back again for dinner next time!
Food was not great. Everything needed salt to add flavor. All four dinners were disappointing. Salmon had no flavor. The side asparagus was burnt. The rice and arugula was just a waste of space on the plate. The lobster pasta had no flavor either. Very disappointed. Atmosphere was nice. Prices way too high for what we got. $245 for four.
Average service, asked for ice with my wine, waited and waited. Soup was good but my seafood pasta special was so bland- all I tasted was the pasta and a bland sauce that was supposed to be garlicky. I brought it home but probably won’t eat it. You should expect much better. Would go again and order something like a meat entree like a chop or steak.
Very nice restaurant but if your not a lover of raw salmon watch out. They were out of haddock, so I asked for a salmon substitute for the haddock sandwich without a roll since I'm glutton free. I had to send it back twice after I indicated I wanted it fully cooked. Our waitress was nice but never checked on our beverages and was so slow in bringing the check even though we indicated we had a long drive ahead of us. Not many GF options
Went there for my 50th birthday. My steak came chard. When corrected, it was underwhelming. I figured I'd give the desert a try, hoping it would redeem the meal. It did not. My experience will not have me coming back. I hope you have a better experience
We were celebrating a bday last night. There were 6 of us in our small quiet family group. It took 2 1/2 hours there to be served. The table of 2 that came in after us got instant service, learned of the specials and received their rolls all while we waited. We brought a cake in (which they charge 2.50 a slice to cut). I suggested that they cut it in small to medium slices. When the cake was served, each of us had "slivers" of the cake. Many pieces were not even a complete 2 layer slice - very thin and was only a few bites worth. We received the remaining of the cake and when we looked at it, it had been sliced from left to right (if it was a clock from 8 over to 4). They chopped it off like 1/4th of the lower circular cake. Then served each of us the tiniest pieces. When I said is that considered small to medium when it was served, they had no interest in what it looked like and she walked away. Keep in mind they charge a 20% gratuity for groups of 6 or more. Just something to keep in mind should you be going to honor someone on their special day and bring your own cake.
Went for lunch on Saturday and greeted quickly, waitress was fine but never checked on drink refills. I had the lobster bisque special, flavor was good but lukewarm and truly no lobster in it which was disappointing. Overall lunch was ok, not in a rush to return.
Ricks is a decent spot but the food is hit or miss. Drinks are overpriced with not much alcohol vs other ingredients. The environment is quite nice otherwise
Dined over Labor Day 2019 weekend to celebrate my in-laws' 50th anniversary. We had high expectations given the reviews, but were disappointed. I communicated we were celebrating a special anniversary when making the reservation and they said it would be added to the notes. Upon arrival, there was no mention of the anniversary by hostess nor server. The setting in a historic home is unique, however the front room where we were seated lacked any sort of decor. My husband ordered the Sea Bass special and after eating a few bites, discovered it to be undercooked. It took awhile to get our server's attention, as she was overwhelmed with serving tables in multiple rooms. She graciously removed it from the bill and offered a free dessert, which we appreciated. However, we were very disappointed that management did not come over to address the issue, as both owners/managers were 20 ft. away from our table at the host stand during our entire 2 hour meal, seemingly pre-occupied with the skimpily-dressed hostess. We looked through more reviews afterwards and found other complaints of undercooked sea bass, so clearly this is an issue not being addressed. Fortunately all of our other items were very good. Neither of the owners/managers were circulating around the restaurant asking guests how their meals were, which is really a missed opportunity. We learned that new management took over in the past year and it seems that they are maintaining a "hands-off" approach in terms of resolving issues, providing support to staff during busy times, and making connections with their customers. We will not return.
After paying for a $250 meal I ended up with food poisoning. All our steaks were way under cooked we asked for medium it was still purple. I had the surf & turf. The lobster was probably what got me. Place was very busy. Great service. Great setup due to that I'm willing to give a second chance some day.
Way over priced!! $15 for a glass of bar wine. Terrible service. Also they have winter bubbles on patio and make the waiters go in and out the door whick is tough on them as well as customers inside that deal with constant cold air blowing in. Poor design. Where is the double door. I will give them good on their food. My wife and I shared a meal.
Have been going here for many years and always had a great meal tonight we went and I was very disappointed I ordered Steak Gorgonzola Pasta the sauce was so thick and not as expected I though it was going to be a nice cream sauce NOT one so thick that you couldn’t separate the pasta It is extremely expensive for this restaurant We will not be returning we have eaten better food elsewhere
I generally have always enjoyed the restaurant and have dined here easily over 100 times over the years. With that many experiences you’re bound to have some bad ones but this I was amazed left the kitchen. The Chicken Milanese was visibly burnt and overdone, and no amount of greens and balsamic could fix how hard it was to cut through the chicken… it’s normally fork tender and delicious but this was just awful. Like I said I couldn’t believe this actually left the kitchen. I was more concerned though that our waitress didn’t look like it was a big deal when it was brought to her attention. If I’m paying 29 bucks for chicken and greens I shouldn’t have to drink water with it to help me choke it down. They comped one of the meals but since I had eaten half of mine I guess that was enough to pay full price. Even with 1 meal taken off, after an app, salads, couple drinks, the total after tax and tip still came to 160… tough for me to want to go back after spending that kind of money on a bad meal when there are so many great options in this area. I was going to give it 3 stars because I know they can be better than the experience Friday night but based on where prices have went for what you are getting in general, it has to be a 2… a Caesar salad for $12 that is drowning in dressing just can’t deserve the extra star
I chose Rick’s on Main for my one-year anniversary, hoping to surprise my girlfriend with dinner at one of her favorite restaurants. She’s been raving about this place for months, and I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had a 7:30 reservation, but it took 40 minutes for the first appetizer to arrive. Another 30 minutes passed before the second dish showed up, and we ended up canceling our final order, as it had not even been put in yet. By the time we cashed out, it was almost 10:00 PM, and we had only received two out of the three dishes we ordered. The manager did stop by and comp the $20 cheese dip, which we appreciated, but she also managed to bill me twice, and I have yet to see a credit. To make matters worse, she spoke to us in a condescending tone, suggesting we should have ordered differently, as though the issue was our fault. For a place with so much hype, the experience fell flat. The food we did receive wasn’t good at all, especially considering the high prices. Overall, this anniversary dinner was a major letdown, and I have no desire to return.
Food was EXCELLENT. Both appetizers and entrees were worth with every penny. Service was arguably the worst I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Our reservation was for 7pm. We were seated a few minutes early. Server didn't come around until 730 to take drink orders and wouldn't let me put in an appetizer until we ordered food and we didn't get to order our food until well after 8 because the server never came back. Didnt get our food until almost 9pm for a 7pm reservation. The food being good saved the night but was very dissatisfied with the service. Some friends of ours had a similar experience. For the price, I can't really say id recommend.
Atmosphere and service is great. Food is absolutely disgusting especially for the price they charge . I had the short rib pasta and it made me sick all night . When I go out to eat I expect to get something that I can not cook at home or something that they can make better then at home and I got neither. Everytime I go, I am always disappointed about the food.
I was there with on Saturday Nov.1 2025. I have two gift cards that don’t expire until March of 2026 they wouldn’t accept either gift card!! I thought was unacceptable and they really couldn’t tell me why!!! Very disappointed!!!
I made reservations for my bf birthday.. the service was great.. the food not so much I got the seafood risotto and it was sticky , clumpy and bland, not creamy like risotto should be I didn't eat it gross I spent 300 on this trip I won't go back Very disappointing
We have been here a few times and things have been great! This last visit on 11-10 Monday night we ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and was way undercooked to the temperature we asked for… also it was cold in the middle so I was wondering if it was a frozen steak but with their reputation it wasn’t just not prepared correctly… to top it off may need to sharpen the steak knives… other than that everything was perfect drinks and Bartender…
