Obsessed with this place! In such a cute location and the food is to die for. There’s a little courtyard that the location is on where you pick up your order and can eat. There’s a playground as well for kids right there.

If you are looking for healthy, fresh and delicious food - this is your place. Honestly, it was hard to choose from all the great options on the menu because I wanted to have everything. :) We had a European salad and a Prosciutto caprese sandwich, and our kid had a Ham & Swiss sandwich with a bowl of fruits - everything was very fresh and delicious. The fruits were sweet and juicy. We will definitely stop by again. Extra stars for the eco-friendly utensils ⭐

John’s Garden is a classic Malibu spot and has been for decades. Fresh salads, sandwiches, and wraps — always consistent, simple, and delicious. Great outdoor seating in the center of the Mart, which makes it a perfect lunch stop during the day. As a Malibu local, I’ve been coming here for years, and it remains one of the most reliable, feel-good places to grab a meal.

Long time customer of John’s, as it’s so easy to grab and go for a healthy and fresh option at the beach. I absolutely love their tuna salad sandwich and have found this to be one of the few places I can get sprouts over lettuce. Amazing alternative! They always have a wide variety of chips and drinks to complement your meal. Don’t be surprised if you experience less than stellar customer service though. Staff is often slammed with orders and guest that aren’t very attentive, which I’m sure is frustrating but not an excuse to be rude. The quality of the food is what keeps me coming back, and since this is not a sit down restaurant it’s easy to ignore the okay counter culture here. Pro tip: order ahead on your phone and grab your chips and drinks when you pick up. (Those options are not included in their app menu)

My go-to is THE FARM — packed with avocado, cucumber, bell pepper, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, and mayo. It’s light, healthy, and surprisingly filling, especially with the fresh side salad. The outdoor picnic table seating gives you a laid-back, local vibe that’s both peaceful and refreshing. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by for a tasty, wholesome meal.

Great healthy/easy option when you’re on the go! My fiancé and I were in the nearby area looking for something vegetarian friendly, and came across John’s Garden. We got the Berry Smoothie, a press sandwich, and the Mediterranean. Better than what we had expected! Looking for healthy options that are not your standard chain restaurant is tough, and this was one of the Greats for sure!

They have great options for all sorts of diets, including good vegetarian options! I tried the caprese with pesto and it was delicious and hit the spot. The sandwich came with a small salad as well and the dressing was great. There are plenty of options for drinks and snacks as well. I will be back to try some of the other sandwiches here.

I used to go here on lunch breaks when I went to Pepperdine several years ago and I can report it’s still just as good. I’ve only ever gotten their sandwiches but that’s fine because every one I’ve ever tried is great. The staff are friendly and you can typically count on getting your food fast which is great considering you’re in Malibu with a bunch of tourists

Great sandwiches, made to order - and a good selection of chips, snacks, and beverages. Been coming here since ‘90. This is the first place that I’ve ever tried avocado. They sliced it and put it onto a whole grain toasted roll with a hot veggie garden burger, tomato slices, alfalfa sprouts. Very satisfying. They have plenty of picnic tables outside the shop overlooking a beautiful park, where you can sit and watch kids play on the jungle gym while you eat. Good place to spot celebs... but be cool and give them their privacy.

This is a solid summer spot for food and snacks. Their in house made chicken salad bowl is probably my favorite snack their and this cookie was phenomenal. Coconut, macadamia & chocolate chip cookie! Soft, gewy and delicious! I’d definitely get more items in the future as the summer settles in.

There is something for everyone here! I had the Vegan Delight which was fresh and tasty. The pumpkin seeds and cashews added a nice twist to this otherwise traditional veg sandwich. Definitely recommend if you’re nearby and looking for a quick bite.

Great sandwiches. This time I got a Surfer/Princess, which has turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayo. It’s served with a salad that has really good dressing. My wife got a Chinese salad, which is really good too. Service is friendly and prompt. Dining is outside on a very nice patio in a courtyard of several shops. There is also a well equipped playground that young kids would enjoy.

5 star review from us! My girlfriend and I were passing through en route to the airport in a hurry, asked how many minutes it would take to get a chicken bowl to go. They told us 8 minutes and had it out in 5 minutes, and it was a really tasty bowl! Staff was super friendly.

Its well proportioned between the different vegetables and chicken, which I added for extra $$. I got the food for takeout and they took longer than what the pickup time stated and forgot a fork. Still the food was good. 👍🏼

Chicken was a little bland, but acceptable with the other flavors. Still over priced, maybe $12-15 is more appropriate. Both sandwiches came with a side salad with balsamic dressing. A little too salty, but otherwise yummy and a nice side. Overall, for the price, I'm not sure if it was worth it. Maybe it's a location thing and the price reflects that. If so, stick to the wrap, not the BLTA. Nice quiet outdoor picnic tables.

20 dollars for a sandwich that had barely any avocado or patty and was 90% lettuce is abominable 😭😭😭 especially for a place where you have to get up and get your food yourself. i wouldn’t mind paying 20 if it was at least good but all i got was bread and lettuce basically. the people that work there are nice but the food is not good and esp not worth the price.

I understand the concept and I really liked the store but the sandwiches were not worth it! 80%of the sandwiches are greens the bread is dry and overall very low quality sandwiches
