Neptune's Net Malibu Reviews
Stopped at Neptune’s Net during a family drive up PCH, and it was the perfect pit stop. Easy, relaxed, and right by the ocean. Perfect spot scenic and when everyone is hungry. Kids were happy, adults were happy, and nobody had to get fancy. The fish and chips hit the spot, portions were solid and the ocean breeze didn’t hurt. Great place to refuel, stretch your legs, and keep the day rolling.
First time visiting husband's friends, the one that cools here and is always talking about it. A cute place I'm sure in the summertime or in the daytimes a lot better but we ended up getting there late so it was cold. We saw the sunset and the atmosphere was good. The food was also excellent. We'll go back 👍
Who doesn’t like fresh fish tacos with a view of the pacific? Neptune’s has a great selection of seafood options with really fresh ingredients! It’s a popular pitstop for bikers too so if you’ll often see bikers perform stunts on the highway while you’re enjoying your bite. Be sure to grab a spot outdoors for some sun, food and stunning views!
Came here on a recommendation of a local while driving from Ojai to LA. A fantastic pit stop for lunch along the coastal/scenic route. There menu was massive. Not wanting to miss out we opted for the sampler platter. It had everything, fried fish, calaramri, shrimp, scallops, but particularly scrumptious were the crab cakes. Admittedly, it was a lot of fried food at once but it was good. We sat outside to soak up the sun and had a nice view of the Pacific Ocean.
A classic joint!!! 10 stars all around. Great vibes and awesome sceneries. A must stop going down PCH.
Did I stop because of fast and the furious? Yes. Was the food, service, and atmosphere amazing? Yes. Did I pay for my own shrimp? Also yes!!! We got the Neptunes Net sampler which provided a generous portion of several menu items. Our daughter git a burger which she said was delicious as well. It was busy, but the line moves extremely fast. Will definitely be back!
Have not been in year. I can tell you I remember the serving of fish was very good for the price. The view was incredible. The location has been in tons of films. Great food and a cold beer looking at the pacific ocean. I mean come on.
Neptune’s Net is everything you want in a classic Malibu stop. It is laid-back, ocean-kissed, and full of flavor. I had the fish and shrimp combo, and it was spot-on: crispy, fresh, and satisfying. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger (no pickles, her signature move), and she loved it. The guy at the counter was super friendly, might’ve been the owner, not sure, but his energy made the whole visit feel personal and welcoming. What really stood out was the atmosphere, it had that Southern California vibe that sometimes feels like it’s been long lost. The kind that mixes surf, sun, and a little bit of grit with genuine hospitality. Between the food, the view, and the people, Neptune’s Net is a coastal gem we will definitely return to.
Fast service! The food was great, although a bit pricey. They charge $1.50 for soda refills on regular size fountain drinks. Beautiful view of Malibu beach across the street. Plenty of parking. The Knucklehead cheeseburger was $23 and came with shoestring fries. Soda was paid separately.
My family and I stopped here after a day at the beach. We were all craving some fried fish and this was a spot they had been to before. Despite being a pretty busy Sunday afternoon, there was lots of seating inside and outside with a beautiful overlook of the sea. You order inside by grabbing a drink from the fridges and then picking from an array of (mostly fried) fish options. They had other food choices but we all got different fish. Food came out super quick, we probably only waited about 5 minutes and everything was hot and fresh and super filling. There is a condiment bar where you can grab your own sauces and coleslaw. Their cocktail sauce has a little bit of a kick to it! The food itself wasn't salted, so you did have to salt it yourself, but I understand that helps appeal to a wider audience. They also had a separate part where you could order fresh fish but we didn't go in there. They also had some fun merch items and I did end up getting these sandals that were in the shape of crabs 🦀 Overall we really enjoyed our meal. The only downside is I felt like the food was on the pricier side. So if you go with your family, expect to pay at least $100 if everyone wants a drink and their own item.
On our way through Malibu on a recent road trip, we couldn't resist stopping at the iconic Neptune's Net. We weren't disappointed! We ordered fish and chips, and the seared ahi tuna salad (there's a choice of dressing, but try the ranch). Two large pieces of fish, with plenty of fries. And, days later, I'm still thinking about that big piece of perfectly seared ahi, on top of the salad. So good. And of course, the ambiance here is also unmatched - the bustle, indoor/outdoor seating, the beach just across the street. We will definitely return next time we're in Malibu!
Very cool place with super fast service! Our food came sooo fast!😃 Loved their variety of salads and local beer & ciders, as well as the delicious local ice cream macaron😍The only thing is, you’d probably want to go with the separate fried seafood options - they looked much better than the mixed ones. Plenty of free parking, across the street you can enjoy your food with an ocean view (there are little stand tables), and you can have a nice walk afterwards. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Malibu!
Fantastic restaurant and lives up to all the hype. Will be back again for sure. They have tons of drink options for every meal (alcoholic and non, even wine too) great food we got the fish and chips with the garden burger. Even got to sit where the fast and furious movie was filmed. The tables were changed so the side where “Bryan” and “Dom” were sitting is a big picnic table now. Highly recommend going during the week if you’re going for your first time. It’s less packed, parking is free and you have more time to look at the menu. I have been here one other time on a weekend after a surf and it was a lot to take in all at once. Parking wasn’t free and had to walk from down the street a ways. Staff is always friendly and food is delectable. Will be back with more friends that haven’t been yet. Souvenirs are there for purchase too if you’re coming for the first time or from out of state. They got mugs, post cards, shot glasses, key chains, shirts, etc.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was kind of refreshing. Despite the crowd, quick and efficient. Great lunch stop along PCH.
Great spot to stop west of Malibu. They are extremely efficient so even with a crowd it doesn't take long to get your food. The scallops were amazing, the shrimp was great, and everything else was good. It is right along Highway 1 so the outdoor seating has a decent amount of traffic noise, but there is a good view of the water from the patio. Parking lot is fairly large. Bathrooms are porta-potties outside.
I really enjoyed the calamari and fried shrimp with fries. The calamari taste fresh and the fries are solid. I wish the portion was a little more for the price. We came late in the evening so it was getting dark but the view is nice and relaxing. There is music playing over speakers and the staff are very friendly. It is a nice atmosphere. Definitely a cool place to check out on the way to Malibu or if you are checking out the beaches nearby. We came after spending some time at Sycamore Cove Beach, about five minutes down the road.
Rolling up the Pacific Coast Highway for the first time, I couldn’t resist pulling over at the iconic Neptune’s Net—because let’s be honest, if it’s good enough for Dom and Brian, it’s good enough for me (yes, a little Fast and Furious nod there). This spot radiates pure California vibes: ocean breeze, surfboards cruising by, and that laid-back energy you can’t fake. The food? Classic and satisfying. My family went for burgers and fries from their broad menu, and every bite hit the spot. Between the ocean views, easygoing service, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile, Neptune’s Net is the definition of a must-stop along the PCH. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll be back—and you should add it to your list too.
Really nice spot and definitely a must-go for Fast and Furious fans! My husband and I ordered the shrimp and fries, they were good, although I was expecting the shrimp to be a bit bigger considering the price. It is on the pricey side, but that’s expected for such a famous spot in Malibu. It was pretty crowded, but the process is simple: you order at the counter and then grab a table. Overall, a great experience!
Neptune’s Net is a great seafood shack along the coast in Beautiful Malibu the experience to eat right in front of the Pacific Ocean is Priceless! The food is usually Fresh and well prepared but some of their dishes could use a bit more seasoning. The clam chowder was really good, the seafood platter was good but not really the best, the shrimp plate was a little better! The staff are super nice and the place is pretty clean if you don’t mind all the pigeons trying to steal your food!
If there were 1/2 stars, they'd get 3.5 stars! Great atmosphere (across from the beach), exciting welcome when we arrived. Love that! Food was ok. The batter for their fish was not preferred. See pics. My salmon salad was good with the ginger dressing but the salmon piece was on "skinny margarita" size.
It's a nice no frills place at the PCH overlooking the Pacific. I ordered the Clam Chowder in a sourdough bred bowl but wasn't exactly taken with the food... 😥
Always at the beach surfing and hanging out for eons and decided to give the Ahi a try. Guy a register was not cool or nice, the ice tea was the worst I’d ever had. After I got my order, they gave me fries because they were out of rice and didn’t tell me. The Ahi was good, and the coleslaw was good. They can do better if they wanted to. Do better!!
Went here to fulfill a long-time request for a disabled family member who is a big fan of the F&F movie franchise and the late Paul Walker. Easy going place... order and pick up your order kind of place, seat where you want if there is availability, which is convenient. We didn't know there were 2 separate ordering spots, one for Fried/ Grilled foods and one for Seafood boil/steam. I was looking forward to ordering their Seafood Platter with the raw oysters and crab legs, but I ordered on the wrong side and got a FRIED fish platter with fried fish fillets, 4 scallops, clam strips, calamari and fries. I asked and the cashier said We have that while pointing to the board so as the line was building up I felt rushed to order and said Yes. Wish the guy asked me if I was asking about the other platter so he could direct me to the other ordering station. Anyway, we got a bunch of fried stuff, and it made us feel not so good afterwards 🙃. However, Knuckelhead burger seemed to be the better plate out of the whole order. As for drinks, THEY HAVE A FRIDGE WALL of drinks to choose from both soft and alcoholic beverages .. almost got a pickle beer lol. Will I come again, yes, but I will order from the other station for a true Seafood platter!
painfully mediocre, not flavorful & tourist trap! if you're used to flavorful foods like soul food or authentic mexican food or any ethnic food with bold flavors really this may not be the place for you. reviews raved about how delicious this food was and I had high expectations for this restaurant. we ordered 2 plates of fish & shrimp, calamari & fish & a turkey sandwich. portions were small, & came with fries. In total with drinks we paid about $100. The turkey sandwich was incredibly disappointing, the bread was soggy and untoasted with a measly slice of cheddar cheese on it with turkey slices & some chopped lettuce. Paying $17 for something so disappointing is absurd. fish was okay. one serving looked crispy but was soft and slightly soggy (?) while the others were good, very crispy. overall the fish was fine. not much to say about it. coleslaw was also not good. left disappointed and with $100 less in my pocket. for such simple yet delicious dishes, this restaurant was truly a disappointment. so many great reviews but the truth about this place is hidden.
