To start off, my boyfriend and I went out on a whim and decided to see if there was any walk in seating on Valentines Day afternoon. We were delighted to be greeted by such friendly staff who informed us we could dine there. To start we got the Shumai Dumplings w/ chicken and spicy ponzu. They were packed with filling and delicious. Small portion, but expected. Next we received our cucumber salad which we used to complement our Kanpachi and Tuna Sashimi. Both were to die for especially when complimented with the acidity of the cucumbers. We finished two hand rolls, one seared scallop and one albacore. Both were perfect. We ended with Green tea, vanilla, and red bean mochi. Overall 9/10 experience. Will absolutely come back. Breathtaking view as well!

2/8/2026 - Sake House Malibu was built from a ground zero and open to the public in Sept. 2025. It offers an Asian and Japanese cuisine with a spectacular panoramic Malibu Coastline Ocean view. The highlight was the Warm Mushroom Salad and Miso Black Cod Lettuce Wraps, etc. This is a place for your special occasion to celebrate!

First thing the view is amazing. It's elevated and you can see the ocean for miles out. My stress level went down as soon as I sat down because of the view. The a5 Wagyu Kushiyaki was tender and juicy. It was a great appetizer. I went with the green tea as my drink of choice. Great the Premium Toro, as it was fresh and practically melted in my mouth. It's a great place for a date where you can have intimate conversations or a group of friends to get together and hang out and relax with great food.

Discovering Sake House Malibu was an unforgettable experience! This newly established gem, rebuilt after the Malibu fire, is a dreamy, Japan-inspired escape perched at the highest point in Malibu. The space is absolutely breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views, beautiful décor, and a cozy, serene atmosphere that perfectly blends Japanese elegance with Malibu’s natural beauty. The restaurant itself offers authentic Japanese cuisine and Asian-fusion creations, with each dish presented as a work of art. The sake selection and signature cocktails were excellent.

Beautiful space overlooking the ocean with authentic Japanese cuisine. Our group was very new to this kind of thing, but our server, Deb, was super helpful when explaining the menu and made some recommendations that we enjoyed. Food was wonderful and beautifully displayed. Amazing atmosphere and decor! Just passing through, but I would come here regularly because of the wonderful service, food, and vibes.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Saki House Malibu. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the coast and the sunshine. The food was great — I loved the salmon crispy rice; seaweed salad, spicy tuna sushi taco and mochi. Tatym and the staff took great care of us!

What an incredible sensory experience we had at the Sake House! From the moment the food arrives, you can tell that every detail has been thoughtfully crafted. The presentation is absolutely stunning - each dish looks like a piece of art. You almost don’t want to eat it... until you take that first bite and realize it tastes even better than it looks. This place is a delight for both the eyes and the palate. Thank you for the experience! We’ll definitely be back!

Sake House Malibu is such a vibe. The setting is beautiful and relaxed, perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. The ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. Stylish, warm, and very Malibu. The drinks were well crafted and enjoyable, we had mocktails with a refined twist. Everything felt intentional, from the presentation to the atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to sit, talk, and take your time instead of rushing out. Service was friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience. You can tell they care about how guests feel while they’re there. Overall, this is a great spot if you’re looking for something elevated but still comfortable. Definitely a must-visit in Malibu and a place I’d happily come back to.

The food was fresh and delicious, the service was attentive, and the vibe was perfect. We’ll absolutely be back!

This place is definitely unforgettable. One of a kind. You walk in tow huge bonsai tree on a rooftop overlooking the ocean. The vibes are incredible. There was a dj who was playing some great music, even got some people to dance lol. Food was amazing and wait staff was super nice and attentive too. Wish there was sushi rolls on Saturday night, it was only had rolls or “tacos”. Still great tho.

Rafi’s lounge is truly a hidden gem. The Sake House has a stunning cherry blossom tree that creates a serene atmosphere that instantly draws you in. Their food is delicious, authentic Japanese dishes that Rio the chef never fails to impress. The service is exceptional and they have geisha girls which was an amazing experience Thanks Rafi for creating a memorable experience right in my own backyard. Highly recommended!

E’Myri is the sweetest, cutest, waitress ever. She was very attentive! Met all our needs as a customer. She made our experience ten times better. The dinner and view was amazing. The food is amazing! Can’t wait to do. Can’t wait to do then sound bath on Thursday the 24rd of October!

At first glance, this is one of the most beautiful atmospheres to dine in. The architecture is absolutely stunning, and being surrounded by such aesthetic detail is a delight in itself. Unfortunately, that initial impression fades when you get to the menu. The food selection is very limited and the prices feel quite unreasonable for what’s offered. On top of that, our experience was dampened by a waitress who did not seem particularly welcoming or personable. Overall, the view and ambiance alone make this place worth visiting at least once, but I do wish the menu were more thoughtfully curated and the pricing more fair. I’d recommend it primarily for the experience and visual appeal rather than the food.

I went to Sake House Malibu for dinner on Sunday night. The food was good and the view was beautiful, but what really stood out to me was the DJ playing house music. I honestly haven’t come across another spot in Los Angeles with house music at this level. As a musician myself, I can say the vibe was completely on point. I even had the chance to meet the DJ (I believe his name was Andrea) and that made the experience even better. It’s no longer just a dinner spot for me. Sundays here are worth it even just for the music. Definitely a place you can come to experience a proper house vibe.

Beautiful unobstructed views of the ocean! Food was delicious and fresh. Our server, Zaka, was friendly and gave great suggestions but the entire staff was wonderful. They brought out Japanese singers throughout the night. It was fabulous!

It’s a little pricey but it’s amazing view and the set up.. came here for my daughter birthday. The customer services wasn’t all that great . The food was kinda good the chicken karaage was over fried because chicken was to dry. The salmon sashimi was good, and the yakisoba noodles was ok. The valet parking in structure is $20 cash and credit card has a fee, rather u park or they park it’s same price. If you don’t want to park in structure and pay then u need to park outside and walk up.

I feel like this place was started by a white guy who went to Japan once and discovered sushi haha. Photos online look way better than in person. I think this place is still trying to fine tune their menu / service (or I’d hope!) Server seemed new ish? Messed up my order a bit despite reading back to us what we told her we’d like. It happens sometimes I get it. You could tell she didn’t know the menu well and took time to figure out an answer when we asked for recs and portion guidance. Atmosphere is obviously beautiful views of the ocean. There is a DJ and the music is on the louder side fyi. There are tables next to the booth that the host recommended we stay away from as it’d be too loud. Quite cold at night but there are space heaters. Food. Sigh…it’s VERY mediocre in quality, options, and presentation. The sushi paper for my hand rolls were totally wilted. Portions small for price (I know it’s Malibu). Nothing that unique about menu options just your standard rolls, sashimi, and appetizers. But had cool cocktail options - all sake based! My last rec is to the kitchen - please time things out better! My pet peeve is getting seated at a small table and then they pile on every dish ordered with no consideration for table space. I was moving my drinks my dishes around for the server constantly. They also would bring out some apps and then my dinner dish but not dinner for others my table. It’s just sloppy service to not properly time out when to bring out each course. $20 valet parking is only option also

Food was excellent with great views and location. A bit pricey for the amount of food that you get. Was very hard to find and parking was difficult , there were no signs, very frustrating. No bill was brought, just a credit card reader with the total and after tapping the credit card there was a disclosure about a credit card fee. Ridiculous that a high end restaurant is charging a credit card fee and they don't advise you of this till after you pay.

The views are 10/10 but the food and service were both disappointing. We ended up cancelling our entree orders after the appetizers took over an hour to arrive, I never got my drink, and one of the appetizers was undercooked. Ended up spending over $100 on appetizers and valet

It’s a beautiful restaurant and had all the potential to be an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner. Unfortunately, the management completely ruined the experience. We arrived at 5:30 PM and did not receive our main entrées until nearly 7 to 7:30 PM. The restaurant was not overly crowded, yet everything was severely delayed. My girlfriend’s miso soup took about 30 minutes to arrive and when it finally did, it was cold. We sent it back and waited another 30 minutes. Our chicken wings also took around 30 minutes. Spring rolls did not arrive until about 6:30. When the entrées finally came out, my girlfriend’s sushi never came at all. After sitting there for almost two hours, we told our waitress to cancel it because we were ready to leave. It was obvious we were not the only table confused and frustrated. I want to make it very clear that our waitress was incredibly sweet and working nonstop. She was running the entire time and doing everything she could to make up for issues that were clearly not her fault. She was genuinely the only tolerable part of the night. What made the experience worse was watching who appeared to be the owners or management stand around on their phones and chat amongst themselves while their staff was visibly overwhelmed. They did not step in to help run food, clear tables, or support their team in any way. They also appeared visibly irritated and dismissive toward their servers, which was uncomfortable to witness and completely unfair to employees who were trying their best. For the prices being charged, this level of disorganization and lack of leadership is unacceptable. A holiday does not excuse poor management. The problem was not the servers. It was the people in charge. Beautiful view. Terrible leadership.

I never leave bad reviews. This place has a lot of potential, but they’re not there yet. I can give a list a mile long of all the things that could be better. I feel bad for the servers. They’re trying their best, but apparently the kitchen needs to get it together. The food is nothing to brag About. The only thing this place has to offer is the view as of right now and the Dj was great. I’m Extremely disappointed in every bit of my experience. I started with a sound bath and we had dinner reservations. We started at 6 PM and didn’t get out of there well after 10:30 and needless to say I went home upset and hungry, defeated the whole purpose of the sound bath. Our server realize we were upset and they did comp us two dishes and drinks, but that wasn’t the point by then I was ready to be home. I hope to see this place get better. I want to see the potential it has to come alive. Otherwise it will be disappointing to see it Continue this way. They also mentioned it’s been only five months, so we’re gonna hope that this was part of their soft opening.

We all rely on reviews to be honest, as I did in this case, but I was fooled. What a horrible experience. The good: The wonderful ocean views. The bad: EVERYTHING ELSE. Food review: lukewarm miso soup, cold steak, smelly yellowfin tuna. Service: missed orders, server would hand plates from one end of the table and expect us to hand them down (instead of coming around the table), wasabi and ginger being served way after the food was served. 20% mandatory gratuity for this?? To top it off, the owner's big dog is free to roam around and beg for food. Are you kidding??? I guess the health laws do not apply to this guy. What does this say about the rest of the restaurant operation? Was fooled once by insincere reviews (probably friends and family)....never again!
