Manhattan Beach Post Manhattan Beach Reviews
Absolutely standout experience from start to finish. Excellent charcuterie selection, the skirt steak was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Carter took it to the next level when he realized we were lactose-intolerant, but their dessert menu had dairy on everything, so he went around the block and got us a vegan ice cream on the house!! Truly an unforgettable evening.
Great spot. Seasonal menu so you can always expect something new and delicious. Can’t go wrong with the gem salad. The corn fritters were an unexpected treat. And the sticky toffee pudding was… chefs kiss!
Excellent spot for lunch. You must get the biscuits to share! So good! If going for weekend brunch, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Other menu highlight for me was the lobster avocado toast.
I want to recognize the staff at this wonderful restaurant. We attended a baptism celebration at this restaurant last Sunday and my wife accidentally left her purse. We live in San Diego and did not notice we were missing the purse until we were back in San Diego. We drove back the next day and they graciously let us go into the restaurant early to retrieve the purse. They were life savers! We want to thank them for taking care of our belongings. We really love the food and the attentive staff & manager!
Exceptional!!! Justin and Jeff, at the bar, were great. Super hospitable and took great care of us. A server noticed our empty water glasses and she was about to pour me when she corrected herself and served my fiancé first. I REALLY appreciate the chivalry!!! (Making me look good 😎) Kudos to their trainer and all around as they checked all the boxes!
Beautiful spot. Food was delicious. couldn't give a 5 star for service, we never got some of our food and second order of drinks. We waited 30+ minutes and then had to go find someone. We had to leave by that point so didn't get to have. This is a staffing issue I would assume Not the waitress issue, she was good.
I went for a solo dinner at Manhattan Beach Post and had a great experience. I started with the garlic herbed pretzel bread — a bit too spicy for my taste, but still good. The grilled Caledonian prawns were absolutely delicious, truly the highlight of the night. The bread with the chile butter and aioli was amazing as well. The vibe at the bar was really nice, and the bartender Bree and Lucas was super friendly. She even made me two delicious mocktails that weren’t on the menu. Great food, great service — I’ll definitely be back!
MB Post didn’t just roll out a fall menu — they dropped a culinary mixtape that hits harder than a Thanksgiving food coma and tastes so good your mama might get slapped twice. Every dish feels like Chef David LeFevre raided autumn’s pantry, flexed his technique, and said, “Watch this.” Here’s the play-by-play of the heavy hitters: ⸻ Lobster Risotto — 5/5 Slaps (the good kind) Creamy, buttery, perfectly al dente risotto crowned with sweet, luxe chunks of lobster. This wasn’t risotto — this was therapy. The depth of flavor? Nearly illegal. The kind of dish you pause after each bite just to admire what’s happening in your mouth. Certified Slap Ya Mama Good. ⸻ Chilean Seabass Special — Fall’s MVP The seabass came out melting like it forgot how to have structure — silky, delicate, rich without being heavy. Paired with autumn aromatics and just the right hit of acidity, it was a “stop-talking-to-me-I’m-eating” moment. A masterclass in balance. ⸻ New Scallop Setup with Fall Carrots — Fall on a Plate Perfectly caramelized scallops with that sear you dream about. The fall carrot setup brings this earthy-sweet backbone that ties the plate together like an orchestra warming up in harmony. Elegant, seasonal, and straight-up addictive. Slap-worthy elegance. ⸻ Slow-Cooked Short Rib Special — A Hug in Entrée Form This short rib didn’t “fall off the bone” — the bone probably fell off it. Deep, rich, slow-cooked perfection with a sauce so glossy it could double as a luxury car finish. Cozy, comforting, and absolutely savage in flavor. A double-slappin’ soul-warmer. ⸻ Lobster Pot Pie — Sheer Culinary Disrespect This is the dish you tell your therapist about because it awakened something in you. Flaky golden pastry hiding a steaming cauldron of lobster decadence — creamy, rich, loaded, and ridiculously generous. You don’t slap your mama after eating this. You call her and apologize for every bad thing you ever did. ⸻ Caramel Apple Cheesecake — Fall’s Crown Jewel Imagine the best caramel apple you’ve ever had… now imagine it became a cheesecake and joined the Navy SEALs. Silky texture, warming spices, lush caramel, and tart apple cutting through the richness. Autumn in dessert form. Certified 10-finger lick, knock-the-chair-over good. ⸻ Final Verdict MB Post’s fall menu isn’t just good — it’s dangerously good. It’s the kind of menu that makes you consider ordering round two just to relive the moment. A seasonal knockout from top to bottom. 👋👋👋👋👋 Five of Five Slaps Slap Ya Mama Certified. Book a table, wear stretchy pants, and thank me later
Manhattan Beach Post – always an incredible experience! This place has such an amazing vibe , the energy, the music, the people ,everything feels alive and full of good spirit. The food is absolutely delicious and creative, and the cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had in the South Bay. Every bite and every sip feels crafted with love. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. It’s one of those spots where you just feel good the entire time you’re there. Definitely one of my favorite places in Manhattan Beach! 🌊✨
My husband and I ate here while visiting from Houston. The food was absolutely delicious. The biscuits are to die for!!! Seriously...so good we ordered some "to go", so we could eat them for breakfast at our hotel the next morning. Stephen gave us incredible service as well. Overall, such a memorable meal while traveling. We will be back next time we're in the LA area.
We love Manhattan Beach Post! It’s our go-to spot for all our special occasions (and the random happy hour) for the food, atmosphere, and exceptional service. The food is consistently amazing, well-portioned, and interesting. More so, the service always fantastic. We just celebrated my birthday, and were gifted a free dessert. Thanks to the team… and we’ll be back again soon!
Amazing experience. Staff made sure to accommodate us with our strollers and they were lovely. Food was really good as well and menu has multiple options for everyone’s taste. I had the steak and eggs because I saw it next table and it looked amazing, and it was just as good I though it would be!!
MB Post can best described as a casual fine dining place with an intimate ambiance. After 12+ years, they are doing even better with food, drink, and an updated look. Chef Lefreve continues his passion for fine dining and doesn't disappoint. The menu is balanced with excellent dishes from skirt steaks to heritage pork. Side dishes are hearty and offer creative takes on flavors and textures with seasonal flair. The ambiance also offers a nice, casual atmosphere with a stocked bar that doubles for dining. The staff are well-versed and very attentive. Whether you're dining alone or entertaining MB Post has always been an excellent choice. Of course, dishes are made and best be shared.
Here is the review of this place. 1- Decoration 10/10: a nice style, modern with a little touch French, Spain 2- Ambiance 10/10: The ambiance was fantastic. There were a lot of people at the bar. Everybody was having fun.The music was not too loud. 3- service 10/10: The service was perfect from the host to the waiters and crew. Everybody was very polite and kind, some even spoke different languages. 4-food 10/10: The food was amazing. It doesn't have a michelin star for nothing.Chef, is very good. 5- cleanest 10/10: i was very surprised at how clean it was and at the same time. That's how it should be. It shouldn't smell. There's nothing worse that, after having a very good dinner and going to the bathroom and it smells, but here it's not the case, congrats to the staff of the bathroom.
We were looking for brunch on the way back to San Diego from LAX. My husband found this place and it was a cute one! The brunch food is fusion style, kinda different than a regular brunch place. The foods are nicely cooked and beautifully plated. But I won’t say it’s very delicious, I might love the normal style brunch better which is more homey and hearty. But this place is definitely great for dating or friends gathering.
Wife and I had a great impromptu dinner the other night. Food was great, and nicely done. Nice variety of items and great use of seasonal produce. We have been for brunch several times, but never for dinner. I would recommend getting several small plates so you can try more of the menu. We will definitely be back.

Always a good place to go if you crave for some delicious food in a nice place. The duck confit tamale was very special and tasty. beef steak is cooked well too.
The food and the drinks are excellent. I was here a few times during the toy fair. There is nothing less than excellent. The best part is the service, which is so professional and warm.

The staff are excellent. My business party chose the food which was wonderful, naan bread with a series of dips, lamb chops, fish, shrimps..fantastic bottle of wine. I will definitely be back!
Love the atmosphere of this place! We came here for brunch after the beach with a planned reservation. The waitstaff was really friendly and nice. We started out with a Bloody Mary. Super flavorful but a bit salty for my taste. The Cheddar Biscuits are super delish here! One of their most popular and must try. The Steak and Eggs were cooked well and full of flavor. The burrito was very filling but found the white rice to be a bit too plain. The Pecan Sticky Buns was a great way to end. Not overly decadent but hit the sweet tooth.

Great place for brunch! Ordered the bacon and cheddar biscuits- divine! The short rib egg and roasted potato breakfast was a home run, I highly recommend that entree. The food is superb here.

Don’t go there if you’re hungry. Extremely small portions. Taste was okay except the sauce on skirt steak didn’t blend w steak. Literally, 2 stalks of asparagus underneath steak. Halibut was acceptable. But portion was not worth the price. We ordered bread and although it did come hot was only 1 piece for 3 persons served in a bag? Service was excellent. Very nice staff Ambiance wonderful Booths nice. Other chairs uncomfortable in dining area
Found the food underwhelming. There was nothing exceptional about the halibut dish. The starters were also ok, I enjoyed the pretzel. The service was a little off on this occasion, but the server was incredibly apologetic and helpful. Overall a great location, but I was left with the impression there are better alternatives around.

The bartender charged me $4 for soda water. Also, it's never busy on new years eve so why have the fixed menu? Everyone agrees this place has gone downhill and the decline continues.

The food was good, but the service was so terrible it ruined the whole experience. A simple dinner for 2 and we were there for nearly 3 hours from being seated to leaving. Our server was disinterested in our table. We received a tired, insincere apology for the wait then didn’t see him again for an hour. Sometimes we need experiences like this - in a few years all I’ll remember is how we entertained ourselves through conversation and salvaged the night despite sitting at an empty table for hours. But if you’re seeking to remember the dining experience itself, I’d look elsewhere.
