Saint & Second Manhattan Beach Reviews
Beautiful new restaurant located right off the grass courtyard at Manhattan Village next to Joey. The interior has a really nice vibe with a lot of warm wood, a huge bar with a view.. the space feels very inviting. The food was outstanding starting with their crispy rice tuna.. one of the best we have tried and this dish is everywhere.. so to see a more unique one with rough chop of quality tune that tasted amazing was a great sign of things to come. Their oysters were smaller out of Washington.. and they were amazing.. super fresh and flavorful. The salmon entre was lovely with perfectly crispy skin.. the showstopper is the smoked pork chop served with a flair.. the flavor of the chop and the grits is a home run. The service was excellent from the hostess to our server who really knew the menu and had good recommendations.. we also had a nice chat with the manager and got some background information on the brand and how they are growing. This is a great spot to gather with friends and relax.. not too loud, not cold, sports on the TV's, and the food was really nice and ensured we will return soon to try out more of the menu. They have an extensive wine list and specialize in high end rare whisky you might not find other places.. so if you like some whisky or wine on the higher end you will be a happy camper. There are a lot of dining options packed together here and Saint & Second is a great new addition that does not disappoint.
The Baseline: For a sit down upper-scale restaurant is the quality of the food, existence of any unique offerings, quality of the service, and ambiance of the overall dining experience. December 2025: Food: The Smoked and Glazed Pork Chop is my new favorite. I paired it with the Kumquat Honey bourbon cocktail for the extra goodness. The Spanish Fried Calamari is also a great appetizer with a cool mix of chili and shishito peppers mixed in with the dish. Also the S’mores Desert bar is a fantastic ended to a meal here at Saint and Second. Service: Excellent service the night I went without empty water glasses and attentive wait staff. Top Notch! Ambiance: I have to make it back after the holiday because the decor and lighting is really nice at this location. Noise level is less than Joey’s across the walk. November 2025: Food: This is a great place for drinks and a eclectic offerings of food. Had the 100-layer lasagna which had a great tomato base sauce but the lasagna needed to be served a bit warmer than it was. I ended up wanting the sauce more than the mushroom lasagna. The fish and chips was awesome and that was a huge hunk of haddock (yum!) but it was served with fries (an English chip needs to be a thick potato wedge 1/2 inch on average). Regardless I loved the fries and really loved the fish. The charcuterie board was also a winner with a great goat cheese, solid hunk of Wisconsin Cheddar (world class cheese, sorry to the Europeans who don’t appreciate it), a nice swath of salami and soppressata, grain mustard, berry compote, and pickled cornichon & fig. First time I had a pickled fig so thank you for introducing me to that. As drinks go, this is a great place to get small batch bourbons and whiskeys and the Autumn Ember cocktail was a taste of the holidays going into my mouth. I highly recommend this drink. All cocktails were great though. I did not see a stout listed on the beer menu which I think needs to be added. Finally desert, the Coconut Panna Cotta with passion fruit sorbet was incredible and was a great end to a great meal and night. Service: Saint & Second was top notch experience in service. Our server Axium was on top of everything and very engaging which was really appreciated. He was great with suggestions and was able to upsell everything while making us happy (that is a great skill to have). Also water glasses were never empty and dessert menu was offered without us having to ask. Great service. Ambiance: The lighting and layout of Saint & Second at night in the holiday season made me feel “homey”. So I was comfortable and enjoyed myself here in the environment. This is a great place to be with a small group of people or with a friend at the great bar area. Located in the Manhattan Village area so parking is easy at the adjacent parking structure. Bathroom was clean and serviced.
Tried Saint & Second for the first time today and loved it! The avocado toast was perfectly seasoned and super fresh, but the real standout was the potatoes — crispy, flavorful, and seriously addictive. Can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!
We enjoyed this new upscale restaurant in the Manhattan Village. My burger was top notch and my wife really enjoyed her fish tacos (salmon) from the happy hour menu (5pm-6pm Monday-Friday). Really interesting cocktails and a huge drink menu!
I enjoyed everything about this place from the food to the service. Oscar made sure to answer all our questions and took great care of us. Every dish he recommended was a hit, but I have a suspicion all the dishes here are delicious. Will be visiting again!
So excited this opened ! I had dinner here last night with a friend and will definitely come back. The ambiance and decor is gorgeous; we sat on the outdoor patio. We ordered several dishes and left feeling full. The spicy tuna crispy rice was excellent. Often I find crispy rice to be too oily and overly fried but this was perfectly done and had plenty of protein atop too. Our other favorite dish was the pork gochujang lettuce wraps which I would also absolutely order again. The charcuterie and branzino were very good but not as special as the two mentioned above. Our least favorite dish was the Aguachile but it was by no means bad. The service was prompt and great especially for an opening. The ambiance is less corporate / stuffy conflated to Joey next door. The food is also better to be candid. Very glad to have this now in MB ! Martinis rocked too :)

It’s finally open! Had a great experience at brunch. Food was delicious and our service was great. Recommend for a brunch or dinner date, or for a group outing.
Truly an amazing evening at this wonderful new restaurant in MB. We had 4 apps 4 entrees 2 desserts 1 bottle of red 6 cocktails. Everything was delicious and perfect. Our expectations were blown away. This is elevating South Bay food for sure. The wine was perfectly paired and about the smoothest I have ever had. The salmon couldn't have been a better cut and the presentation was fantastic. We will def be back!
The ambiance here is very nice, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a beautiful day. Menu has a large selection of food and cocktails, and our brunch was delicious! Shout out to our server Chase who was awesome and super attentive :)
Despite some lackluster reviews we went with an open mind and we were well rewarded. Our server was attentive and came back multiple times. We started slow with ordering drinks to start. The "It's a Fig Deal" was delicious. I definitely wanted another one. She came back shortly and took our appetizer order. No rush to place the whole order. Food was delivered at a non rushed pace. The Beet and burrata salad was delicious. Our main course was also delicious. The 100 layer lasagna was declared excellent, as was the fish and chips. My only suggestion on the F & C would be to cut down the fish to a few pieces instead of one giant piece of fish. Mainly it just looked weird. I had the asian salad and added chicken. I really enjoyed it. Sadly no room for dessert. The atmosphere was great, not too noisy. The decor is really nice. Modern and cozy. We were there pretty early on a Thursday and the noise level was pretty good. Will be going back for sure.

Our server, Gio, made our experience the best it could have been. He fielded all of our questions well and did a great job conveying the restaurant’s specialties. Every dish was amazing and there are so many options to try. We will definitely be returning and hopefully Gio takes care of us again!
Making a reservation online was quick and easy. They also had plenty of seating inside and out, so they may be able to accommodate walk-in also. The restaurant is located in the center of the shopping area, and parking in one of the garages is the best option. We had a party of four, and they weren't too busy when we arrived. We were seated outside with a view of the courtyard, This was perfect for people watching. Our server, Brooke, was very attentive and prompt in meeting our needs. The couple we were with enjoyed the mimosa flight, which came with a full bottle of champagne. I ordered the Smoked Tri-Tip Hash. It was full of flavor. I don't mind poached eggs, but if that's not your thing, be sure to ask for them cooked differently. The yolk, while tasty, gets everywhere! I also tried some of the pancakes, chef's kiss. They come as two large pancakes, so if that's your meal, you'll definitely be full. They could also be good for sharing. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. Some others in the party lightly added salt and pepper to their meals, but the Tri-Tip Hash was good for me. I often stay in the Manhattan Beach area when I'm in LA, and this restaurant has definitely been added to my list of go-to list.
Fish and chips was big with plenty to share to other people . The portions are generous . Hiwever the opposite is true with the drinks , the serving is small and the flavours aren't there yet . Service was good
The fish and chips are some of the best battered fish I have tasted in a long time. Good place for a casual date but with an upscale touch.
This was a great experience I loved the steak and fries the steak was so soft and easy to chew the salmon was a little bit undercooked and sadly there was a white long hair in the fish and chips but one hair won’t make ur food spoil either way I would still come back. We also didn’t wait but because we reserved.

The server recommended the Asian chopped salad, the grilled pork chop, and the grilled salmon. All three were delicious, with the pork chop being soo flavorful and succulent, the clear favorite! Place was hopping on a Saturday night but didn't feel rushed. Service was awesome. Great happening place to catch up with.a friend or bring a date. Also, noticed there was a lovely glass room to host a small private party. This is a great addition to the Manhattan Mall area dining scene.
We frequent the LB location and have been to this location twice. Menu is off the charts for interesting combinations of ingredients and presentation. I enjoy food for chef inspired taste, not super-size mega portions. Social Hour (happy hour) book of valued food & drink is inviting. Enjoyed Calamari, Pork Belly Lettuce Cups and Spicy Tuna and a crisp Rosé.

stars — all for the insanely amazing service from Chase and the manager JR. They were attentive, gracious, and truly the saving grace of our visit. That said… we ordered our burgers medium twice and both times they came out well done — dry and barely edible. Super disappointing since we were excited to try them. The drinks? Came out sooooo slow I was tempted to hop behind the bar and make them myself. I absolutely love the Belmont Shore location and was thrilled to see it finally open here in Manhattan Beach by my house — but it’s clear they’re still ironing out the kinks. Once the kitchen dials in meat temps and the bar gets its timing right, I’m sure this will be a 5-star spot. Fingers crossed!

This place is an Applebee's in disguise. It's priced for a better experience than it delivers - as others have said, just go to Joey's next door. The menu is entirely uninspiring and the ambiance is... sloppy. If the lighting were dimmer then you may not notice the veneer of fake wood and vinyl tile they use to masquerade their hefty price-point. The outside bar area looks nice though!
Went for lunch, the food was fine, but for the price wanted something more outstanding. The crab appetizer is for 2 ppl and they only give 3 pieces should give 4 the waitress told us only 3 do you want to order 2 of them, not at that price!! I guess that their scam!! The waitress was ok but very moody didn't even ask us if we wanted to look at the desert menu which we did, the desert was pretty cheesy also! Probably won't go back!

First time going. We’ve been waiting forever. They’ve been open a month or two. I was surprised at the size being so small. With that said, it is nicely decorated. The entire menu was uninteresting. I ordered the Mary’s roasted chicken and it’s much better at Tin Roof in the same shopping area in Manhattan Beach . There was no flavor to the sauce, the “Mary’s chicken” was flavorless bordering on dry. The sauce brought on the side tasted like nothing at all. Nothing had great seasoning. Nothing was unique enough for me to go back. Not even the desserts sounded good. I really was looking forward to it, but I’ll head back to Joeys.
Saint & Second has been a mixed experience for us over multiple visits, and unfortunately this most recent one didn’t fully show the improvement we were hoping for. Service can feel inconsistent. Orders were slow or occasionally overlooked, and it was sometimes difficult to get a server’s attention for follow-ups or the check. No one was outwardly rude, but at times the waitstaff seemed disengaged or inexperienced, which gave the impression that floor oversight was inconsistent. That said, when the manager is present, it makes a huge difference. She is friendly, sincere, and professional, and her presence noticeably improves the overall flow and atmosphere. I also want to credit the bussers, who were consistently warm, attentive, and often more responsive than the waitstaff themselves. There were also clear food highlights. The onion soup was excellent rich, comforting, and easily the standout dish of the meal. The mezze hummus plate was very well done, flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and something we genuinely enjoyed. Some other dishes, however, arrived overly oily, which took away from the balance and overall quality. Given the location directly across from Joey Restaurants, which consistently delivers strong service and execution, the contrast is noticeable. Overall, Saint & Second shows real potential. With more consistent service and execution, especially at the server level, it could be a much stronger experience.
The food was nothing special. No flavor and unseasoned. Apparently the regular Chef Jason wad not in when we were there!! Very disappointed.... only the vibe was good and the bar tender super cool, good drinks and atmosphere was good. The host brought us a free desert to compensate for the horrible food.. well tasteless food. They tried!!

What an incredible disappointment. The restaurant is extremely well decorated and the atmosphere is welcoming. After that it all goes downhill. We ordered crabcakes for an appetizer; it was 90% filler with ZERO lump crab. Tasteless and not even edible; they could have have passed for a vegetarian " crabcake". For a main course we ordered branzino with mashed potatoes. Again, the dish was tasteless and disgusting. The fish was overcooked and dry and the mashed potatoes were brown with a funky flavor. Finally for dessert, we ordered a vanilla latte and an earl grey tea with no gin. They couldn't even get that right as the latte came out 10 minutes before the tea. The latte was decent but the tea tasted like it had some sort of cleaning solution in it. When the tea finally did arrive it had whipped cream spilling down the side of the cup and the handle without any dish or plate. There was no manager checking on how people's experience was and people close to us were annoyed at how slow and disconnected everything was. If I were offered a free meal to try S & S again, I wouldn't do it. To cap it off, we shared our dining experience on the way out the door and the host walked away. This place needs leadership and a new chef. Save your time and money and walk 50 feet to Joey or any number of other better, more established restaurants that appreciate your patronage. For the food and service I would have given it zero stars if that option was available.
