The meat and bread were fresh. I had a ham, turkey and roast beef. Enough for me and a friend. Will be going back.

So happy I found this place. Best Pastrami Reuben I have had since moving from NYC!

Excellent sandwiches! The best sub I've had in South Florida.

I had the foot-long italian. I didn't eat it right away, but took it home and put it in the fridge. About 10 hours later I finally got to eat it. All I can say is that from the first bite to the last, it was the stuff that dreams are made of. When I was done, all I wanted to do was go to bed and sleep. It's the most content I have been in a long time. You do yourself a disservice if you don't give this place a try just once. Then I dare you not to go back again, and again.

Best sub shop in town big name companies dont have anything on local sub shops. Fresh ingredients, best flavors, management and team is first class

These guys are hands-down the best in South Florida. I've lived here almost my entire life, and I STILL haven't found a better sandwich shop. This people DESERVE your business and that's something that almost nobody can say nowadays.

Brilliant Subs!!!! BIG and FRESH all the time, definitely get your moneys worth. Love that it family ran and they are very friendly. My only complaint would be there hours :( would like to be hope longer but I understand as a family person myself. Keep it up :)

Was traveling back home to tampa today and decided to give this place a shot. Walked in it was dead inside(330pm no body goes to lunch at 330pm) was greeted by 3 employees. First time here reviewed the menu ordered a cuban sandwich. The two guys in the back got to work. One sliced/shaved the meats the other prepped the bread and condiments. Other guy, Bill (owner) was just hanging out and randomly asked if i wanted a drink while i wait. I mentally questioned it cause i really didnt want to buy drink. But he said no charge. Sure ill take the drink. We talked about the history on the wall...anyways i rambled on enough. Best damn sandwich i have ever had full of flavor.. im now back home enjoying the other half stoned. Thanks bill

Just tried this place out today. We got fast and friendly service and two great sandwiches, ham and turkey and a hot cheesesteak with sweet baby ray sauce. Definitely coming back to try "the cuban" next time!

Great subs, your first time will not be your last. This is where you go to get what you need if you need the best sub in the Tri-county area. Gotta get a pressed sub. Gotta leave a few minutes to let your body catch up after you finish...It's intensely good.

In town for work and I trusted the reviews on Google. 100 % right decision. Food was fresh and delicious. Owner was hilarious and seemed like the place had a lot of regulars. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

The service is impeccable. The gentleman who was working was loud and talked to everyone as if they were long lost friends. Food is great and there is good variety for a smaller sub shop.

Great place to eat, always has fresh deli meat, great cheesecake, and all around great costumer service. The employees in the front, Denise and Diron, are the friendliest staff that I have encountered so far, helped me figure out what I wanted. Ever since the new owners, Sherry and Bill, took over it has become an amazing establishment.

Huge changes with new management! The kept the best sandwiches/ subs and have added delicious soups and desserts! The Maryland Crab soup is my favorite and something you would expect from a fancy restaurant definitely worth a try.

WOW ill start there! Im Connecticut originally and we call our subs grinders and they are wrapped in foil. Once i opened the box of my best meatball sub/grinder ever and saw the foil i started to tear up! They sub was amazing , like the meatball was cooked with love not just some thrown together BS. Best Meatball sub in world!

Best sub I have ever had. Bill is very entertaining and the subs match his customer service. We went there once and went back 6 times in the same month. Bill quickly became part of our surrogate family. Best sub from ocean to ocean. Tell all your friends they need to come try the hot Italian with a bag of the voodoo chips!

Great food at a great price. If you've been eating at Subway and some of the other sub shops you definitely want to try Shavedway. These guys know how to build a sub. No skimpy sandwiches at this place. I was visiting from Stuart and looked for a lunch spot in the Coral Springs/Margate area. This was the only place that had a complete 5 Star rating, and they deserve it!

I have been a client of Shavedway for the last 11 years. Now it’s under new management and the service and the owners are excellent. The food, prices and service are great. Never noticed the place driving by. Googled “sandwiches” and it came up. Saw all of the great reviews and decided to give it a shot. First and foremost, the food is awesome, people are kind and the atmosphere is humble. Will definitely eat here again.

Ordered a Cuban sandwich and a Philly Cheesesteak sub today, just finished eating both of them with my 2 son's and WOW!!!! The best Cuban sandwich and Philly sub by far in the area. My kids never eat all of there sub/sandwiches but this time they stuffed all of it down there mouths lol, My kids absolutely loved it and we will go back again 100%

This was a great sandwich! The 12in Italian was the special today for $10. The meats were good and the bread was fresh and soft. The staff couldn't be friendlier. I'll be back soon.

Best place in town by far for subs. He even makes the Cuban sandwiches better than Cubans I'd say. But don't take my word for it go and try it out yourself you won't be disappointed!!!!

Best sub place I’ve had! I had the tuna on wheat bread and must say it was delicious. The tuna was very light and flavorful melting in your mouth with every bite. Thanks for your hospitality as well and can’t wait to visit again when I’m in the area.

I can't tell you how often my family wants to have a nice Sub sandwich and for some odd reason this food place closes at dinner time. I will never understand this. I guess I call the next closest place to me. Reply to Shavedway , I can understand the "COVID" and Family thing. I have had sandwiches here a few times for lunch and have always had great food. But have never been able to have it for dinner in 10 years of living 12 blocks away because your hours have always been short. Want more revenue start with dinner time hours as most working people Don't get home till you are already home with your feet up. I have gone in and the subs are good. Just need to eat early if coming here.

I can't remember ever having a sub as good as what I had at Shavedway. The sub was made with a generous portion of meat more than enough to fill anybody I can think of. As good as the sub was, the customer service and relationship that this owner and his sons have with the customers is something to be cherished and is so rare in today's society. Everybody was on a first name basis and if you werent (me) they made you feel right at home. They gave me a free drink for my first visit which was very gracious. I've lived in the area and never knew it was here, but they've gotten a customer that will continue to come back in me. You'd be absolutely crazy not to come here and grab an amazing lunch/dinner if you are hungry and wanting to enjoy good customer service and great food.

Best subs around. I loved Laspada’s until I had Shavedway. They have every sub shop around beat!!! Come one come all. If you haven’t been here, then get your asses here. Definitely have the cheesesteak or any of their other awesome hot & cold subs. Bill does subs right!!!

A dream operation. What a cash cow! Bare bones including rolls of brown paper towels for napkins. Decent limited seating of up to maybe 20 people. Simple sandwiches done hot or cold and very yummy! The owner is a local who has a great grasp of what the public wants in a terrific lunch only environment. Order ahead for pick up. This place is rockin for lunch!

I’ve been inside of Shaved Way subs plenty of times and always had my eyes on the Hawaiian pressed sandwich. No wonder it’s listed as customers favorite. It’s the bomb. Great customer service and even better sandwiches.

I'm really happy I found this place through Uber Eats I'm even happier that I paid the ridiculous $6.99 delivery fee to get it at work. I got the turkey and ham with Swiss. It is definitely a Top 5 sub I've ever had.

Meat is really fresh and cut to order. Sandwiches actually have veggies on them. The father and his sons are enough to make you want to come back! Great prices too. My only problem, as with a lot of sub places, is the huge amount of meat put on the sub. Like Mitch Hedberg said, you need another loaf of bread and 5 other people! I am not going to fault shavedway subs for the american culture of eating way more meat than is healthy.

My job had a meeting and needed subs fast! I looked up this place for my colleague and thought why not - Best subs I've ever had. He did not lie when he said he'd blow our minds. The subs were full and the meat was tasty. Will definitely purchase again!

The owner knows very well how to run a good business, and mind you, the food industry is not an easy field to operate in; the resteraunt is always clean, the store front/inside is never bland, never dull, cute signs here and there, and decorations that give off a happy vibe. The menu has bountiful options and wide variety, from subs, to salads, to sandwhiches and even over ten types of different cookies plus very much more! The girl there that I always order and get my food made from is such a sweetheart and never fails to make me smile and the owner is very nice, affable and helpful. Let me start off by saying the turkey sandwich I ordered was delicious! The NY style cheesecake I had after also tasted great. When it comes to customer service, the guy behind the counter wearing the dolphins hat is a very nice guy and he was very welcoming when I mentioned it was my first time there. The prices were reasonable and as an added bonus, they also accept Apple pay which is a huge plus for me personally. I'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try the other subs they have.

If you are looking for an authentic, genuine, high quality, small family business to support, look no further. Kenny, the owner, is so passionate and dedicated; you can tell he pours his heart and soul into everything he does and makes. As soon as you walk into the shop, it smells delicious from all of the food that is cooking. Kenny is a great cook, and has amazing meats, sandwiches, salads, desserts, along with his own line of soups and sauces. Denise was very knowledgeable and made the sandwiches beautifully. Everything was superb, and we will definitely be back! I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area!

I've had their subs off and on the past few years and people have been sleeping on this place. Yes the owners have changed twice but much of what makes it a great (fresh ingredients and friendly service) still exists. I often order the Italian and Tuna. They also have pressed sandwiches, deli sandwiches, soups, wraps and all that I've had has been fresh and tasty. These are big boy/big girls subs so have an appetite. Unlike the shop in coral springs that specializes in "hoagies", Shavedway stands alone with variety and sincere customer service. The owner is there and the place is not run by others who do not value their customers.

Best subs I've EVER had. Only time in my life I could not finish a sub because Bill, the owner, stuffs them with so much meat. If you're used to eating at chain sub shops prepare to be blown away by the quality and quantity. If you don't know what to order try their Cuban sandwich. It's their most popular, and my favorite.

I was looking for a good sub shop, since I just moved to Pompano, and saw this place had such great reviews, so I wanted to try it. The owner is awesome makes you feel like you've known him for years very friendly and funny. I tried the Cuban, Italian, and Tuna subs which ALL were amazing! Very large portions on meat and freshly sliced. Veggies are all fresh and the peppers were my favorite. If your looking for a good sub definitely give this place a try. I plan on trying something new next time.

This was my first time there and it will not be my last. The subs are humongous! My husband and I split a Cuban and we could only finish half of it. It was so delicious! The owner Bill is also a comedian and told us about all the things that happened to him the previous week. He had everyone in stitches. I would definitely recommend this wonderful little sub shop.

I went here for the first time today based on the many excellent reviews. I've got to say, this is an amazing sandwich shop. I can't think of a better place to get a sub anywhere. There is a young lady who works here with her father. My first time visiting, I was very impressed at how friendly they were. I'm a foodie so I like my sub shops, especially when they sell Phillys. Now they don't have Philly's on the menu so you'd have to ask for it, and it comes with their in housemade roast beef. When that young lady made my sandwich I knew that there was something special about her. She's got a gift. I also had the tuna sandwich which was pretty good. The lettuce was nice and crisp and the ingredients were fresh which made the sandwich enjoyable. I also got the New York-style cheesecake which had a good flavor and was nice and thick like I like it. I love strawberries on my cheesecake, but I was able to eat the whole slice and didn't miss them much. I also tried the bread pudding and it had a good texture but not quite my style. I grew up when that old-school grandma from the county used to make that bread pudding taste like heaven. Now I have to talk about that amazing soft bread that they have. Yall know when it comes to subs that bread is like the kitchen of the house. The meat is like the bathrooms. It will make or break the deal. The bread that they use is a winner! Now I'm going on a diet soon which will last until some time in the 2100s. I've got a mountain of weight to lose and I'm starting Saturday, so I will be back to visit them in the next few days to get it in before I get it all out!!!!!! Keep up the great job guys. The sandwich was amazing. Had the Hawaiian, the bigger size, they cut it in 3, I had 2 pieces for lunch and the other piece for dinner. The only reason i gave them a 4, was because the 3 guys working there were a bit rude, did not even say hi when i walked in.

I ordered on uber eats and got the tuna sub. I forgot what my family ordered. The food was good but it didn't well sit well with my stomach. I will give it a try again and perhaps visit in store to see what else they have to offer.

Everyone knows a sub is best when the meats are sliced fresh like they do here. I stopped in to get a quick lunch to go and was pleased to find that they make a sub to rival another famous in place in our area that starts with an L. I ordered an 8" Italian for $10. The bread was stuffed with meat and there were so many toppings it was like having a complete salad on top. It was way more than I could eat at one meal and I had the other half for dinner. If you prefer to eat in they have a few tables inside. A Yelp check in will net you a free fountain drink. This is the kind of mom and pop business I love. They even had their daughter helping out during the summer break. Support small businesses and eat delicious subs. Win Win!

I usually do not write reviews, but felt this had to be shared. I have come here for a few years and the quality of food and service has always been great. A little on the pricier side, but I always felt it was worth it because of the quality and size of their subs. Plus, you are supporting a small business which we always love to support. I went today for my favorite meatball sub and also ordered an Italian sub for the Mrs. The service still seems great, but the subs weren't as good as I remember them being. The Italian Sub was OK, and the meatball sub was kind of a joke. I didn't mind spending $12 in the past on a big sub because it always fed me for two meals. To my disappointment, this is what I received today. The price of this sub should have been much lower for what it was. Hopefully they will fix the price of this sub or make it worth the price they charge their customers for it.

At first I was about to order the Philly, but they didn't offer mushrooms or cheese whiz, and the rolls were thick(bad because the best part of a Philly is steak, cheese and butter, the bread just holds it together). Then she asked about pressed or toasted, so she didn't know to lay the bread on top of the man food and let the steam penetrate. Out of Maryland crab soup. The peanut butter cookie crumbles into hard crumbs, rather than collapsing from it's own weight like a freshly baked cookie does. The roll was awesomely fresh, I would have believed that it was baked on site, and the roast beef was good; but it wasn't enough to get this place better than a mediocre rating.

Para mi decepción, esto es lo que recibí hoy. El precio de este sub debería haber sido mucho más bajo para lo que era. Ojalá lo arreglen o lo hagan valer lo que cobran a sus clientes.

Sandwiches are very good however the older gentlemen who works there at time can be rude and or arrogant. I will not return to this establishment because I did not appreciate the costumer service.

Will not ever go back again! Sandwiches are good but the racist comments towards African Americans and other ethnic races did not sit well with me. Minorities is what brings them business and yet they bite the hand that feeds them. Be aware minorities!!!!

what business only stays open 5hrs a day? I would love to come in, but everytime closee...mayb try staying open until 6 for those that would like a sub for dinner or after work,, I would love to review your shop but always seem to be closed or closed early when supposed to be open...no ones saying not to be with your kids, but maybe get some hired help and make more revenue

I thought this place would be great because reviews said so. But it’s absolute trash. I ordered the 6” roast beef sub. My partner got a 6” Italian. They messed up the toppings, giving each other what the other ordered. The bread was DAYS old, hard and crusty, on the verge of croutons. The roast beef wasn’t fresh. Brown and dry. I was starving and ate it, not wanting to waste money. We got “homemade” cookies. They were so hard and inedible, that’s what I ended up throwing away. This was the first time I’ve gone here and will definitely be the last.

I’ve been coming to shavedway for quite a while and it’s sad but I won’t be returning. Previous owner was awesome always had the best conversations and always made the subs with love and care. Ever since Phil left it’s been a very quick decline. The servers don’t take the time to know their customers, especially the regulars. Tragic that my favorite sub place is no longer a thing.
