Vo An Vietnamese Restaurant Margate Reviews
My family of nine came here. We love to travel and eat. We found all the dishes we ordered were delicious. Homecooked meals served at auntie’s house. This is very unique and special for us who are traveling here. From Banh xeo, Short rib Pho, to many other traditional dishes. They were all deliciously made and served with care. Thank you for all the wonderful food! Worth the wait for the food! Build in the time to sit and enjoy.
Would recommend this restaurant! Broth was great, plenty of meat, and options. Calm, chill, and clean as well. Server was also attentive!
Nice clean restaurant! Service was a little slow but still not terrible. Tried the bo luc lac shaking beef. Delicious! Beef with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions served with fried rice. Tasty and delicious! Highly recommend!
Tonight we went to a new restaurant in Margate, and it did not disappoint. If you are looking for comfort food this is it. When we first walked in it was pretty empty but it got bushier later, Vietnamese families with their children. Price was great and the amount of food you get is very generous. We had the vermicelli with sliced pork and veggies (bun this nuong) pork dumplings (not greasy at all) and a large beef soup (pho dat biet). Also had Their passion fruit drink, at first it was very sweet but as the ice melted it was just perfect, it actually had real passion fruit seeds, yum! Definitely recommend and I will be coming back to try other items. Service was excellent! Restaurant was very clean.
Everyone once in a while you find a location that’s superb. This is it. I was not expecting the amazing food I received when I walked through the doors of this restaurant. The portions are super large. So much food for the money. Food came quickly and it was amazing. The atmosphere is also great. With large windows yet I closed by trees makes a little gate away in the middle of traffic city. Only downside, the servers only delivered our meals and never came back. No refills, no checking in, no bringing the check, no bringing anything. And that was for every table. I had to get up and ask for to go containers, and ask for my check. But the food overlooked everything since it was amazing.
A nice and clean Vietnamese restaurant serving some tasty and authentic dishes. Went there for Sunday lunch and was seated right away. Noticed other Asian (maybe Vietnamese) customers so it must mean it’s authentic flavors. Service was excellent and friendly. Portions were good and with quality ingredients. Easy parking as it’s a stand alone restaurant. Will definitely come back as want to try other dishes.
They have a very wide variety of options to choose. Food tastes pretty good. I’m surprised that their menu has a lot of authentic food options that I normally don’t see in other places. The only minus in this restaurant is that waiter is not attentive. We have to raise our hands whenever we want something. Their bun bo huế is quite expensive but it comes with a very big portion
Very good customer service. Food is fresh and tastes good. Me and my family enjoyed the place. Would recommend it to everyone who wants to have a good meal.
We have not been back to Vo An for almost a year. Today was fantastic. We ordered Bánh Xeo, hot vịt lộn, duck salad, bún đậu mắm tôm. They are all excellent . They might have had a new chief and a new crews. Food was very fast and service was excellent. Let’s go back and support the local shop!
This place delivers what is on the menu. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. The restaurant is an old Pancake House, they kept the exact layout. If you’re craving this cuisine this place will fill you up.
Loved it ! The food is very authentic and delicious the experience was amazing and fun. If you’re looking for something true to Vietnamese cuisine this is perfect.
Phở at Vô Ăn is delicious. Especially the soup is amazing. Sprimg rolls are full of meat. The peanut sauce is better than the ones in Viet Nam. The 2 items that we ordered are what i expected. Ah...free one can of soda when you order php or main dish. Ps. The main server named David is very cool. He can take order in Vietnamese.
After spending three weeks here in America ice been craving for asian food. I'm missing asian food that's why I'm happy after eating to this place. Awesome food. We ordered pho soup which is perfect since rain is pouring so hard the one with oxtail and brisket, and also some appetizers and sticky rice cake with mango.
Love the food here. Staff is very nice and friendly. I gave 3 stars in atmosphere because they put the a/c way too high and is always hot inside. Hot atmosphere and hot soup don't mix.
A little pricier than similar places in the area, but well worth it in my opinion! Some of best pho I've ever had combined with fast & friendly service! I did a pick up order over the phone, without a menu in front of me, and the lady was very patient & helpful, both on the phone and when we arrived to pay. I had the combination pho while my boyfriend had vegetarian. We got it home to find everything well packaged. The broth was to die for before we even put in the fillers. Portions were quite generous and neither of us could even finish. It was so good, we had our leftovers for lunch the next day, then got another order for dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Vo An keeps getting better and better, I've been going to them for 5+ years now, and their pho broth has gotten even better in terms of flavor, fragrance and richness. I'll continue to visit with my family. Also love they have fresh squeezed OJ that they squeeze in a machine right as you order it. Really nice service too.
Love this place. Came here for my birthday w my family. Everyone loved it. It was one elderly lady whipping it up in the kitchen so the food doesn't get any more authentic than that. Will be back.
So good, the short ribs are to die for and the iced coffee was out of this world.
Everything was delicious. We ordered the number 31 dry bowl which had rice noodles, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, pork and shrimp. The dressing was very yummy!! We also ordered the rocket shrimp and spring rolls. Service was excellent as well. We will be back !!
Super awesome experience and so impressed with the beautiful new screened in patio! The kitchen is visible from the dining room, so it's cool to see them preparing many of the Vietnamese staples we all know and love. Yummy food, wonderful staff, and great service. We will definitely be back soon!
Just go here. If you don't like Vietnamese food, you probably will give something you do like here. All the food is super delicious. The staff are awesome every time I go and more than happy to answer questions or assist with accommodations. The food is amazing and comes in large portions but you won't feel heavy if you eat all of it in one sitting, which is rare.
Clean, bright, lovely restaurant with fresh and flavorful Vietnamese food. We love it! My husband has been here practically every day for a week. He says the pho is amazing. I, personally, love the spring rolls. We had the hot pot tonight...truly a fantastic experience! We will definitely be back.
I ordered foods and don’t have to wait too long. She very friendly and nice. Foods come fast and ask you need anything else. Nice people in there. Super clean that what like about restaurant. Will recommend and will will be back when we visit the area. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
From the street very inviting. Beautiful landscaping. I had vegetable pho and it was delicious. My dining partner had beef stir fry and enjoyed it. Prices are not cheap but certainly fair for the very large portions. Very pleased with our meal and will return
I had the large, so I was stuffed to the brim. I have a big appetite. It is good if you can eat the pho without any garnishes. Not excessively sour, salty, or sweet. perfectly blended. The support was amazing. I'd be back in a heartbeat.
I wish I could give the food more ⭐ s. I hoped the food would be good but never expected this amazing dish.We started with the grill butter scallop appetizer, inhaled it then ordered another. It's one of the best dishes I have had in year. Everything was good
My Vietnamese boyfriend and I have been coming to this restaurant since they first opened. Despite the pandemic, their food and service Quality is over the top. Delicious authentic Vietnamese food. Staple dishes like Bun bo hue, pho and rice are well cooked with the right ingredients, And very flavorful. They do not take short cuts. Highly recommend.
Visiting Vo An for the first time.I eat some of south Florida's best Pho even though the restaurant is vacant. Definitely satisfying are the soup and the trimmed side dish. The portions are really small, and the pho is incredibly good.
Everything about this place was great. Went for a late lunch. The staff was friendly. The food came hot and flavorful. The facilities are clean with great landscaping and a nice outdoor eating area as well. Definitely check out Vo An for more than just the pho! I'll be coming back soon.
The food is authentic! Amazing herbs quality, no wait at all. It’s an amazing family place that I come each time and love to support! 🫶
Update May 2024 --- Still amazing. People are friendly with great service. Truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Everyone should try the bún riêu. Trust me, it's great! UPDATE June 2023 -- They have changed menu and now have good variety of snails, frog legs, Balut and other authentic items. Amazing service as usual. I got the Frog Legs and they are superb and are definitely a must try for anyone. Amazing and Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. First time here and got Bo Kho. It was tasty and the meat was perfect. I felt like I was at a friends house for dinner. Will definitely be back for more. YUMMY!!
This is the 2nd time I've been here. Amazing service and I meant literally TOPNOTCH. Everyone is VERY attentive... They greet you from the moment you walk in and the service is consistent. This 2nd visit I was greeted by Chi who greeted me literally before I even got all the way to the front. She was fabulous. I ordered my fav Vietnamese dish both times which is the chicken pho. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.
This place has good food and has amazing service. I always come here, and they have never failed to meet my expectations.
Absolutely the best pho bo I’ve ever had in my life. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful, the beef perfectly tender, and the whole dish just felt like comfort in a bowl. If you love Vietnamese food — or even if you’ve never tried it — this place is a must. Highly recommend!
Food here is very authentic and the Pho broth is outstanding- fresh herbs is a must - this place is a hidden gem
Very good atmosphere, the service was excellent, the waiter known the menu and given a good selection of food...
Great friendly and fast service. They have outdoor seating, we called and asked permission ahead of time it they would let us bring our dog if we sat outside and they agreed. We ordered short rib pho, pad Thai, mussel appetizers and a rice dish (Korean short ribs). Everything was reasonably priced and came out quickly. Food was delicious and they were very friendly
Friendly staff, fast service and overall great experience. Ordered the spring rolls and they were very good and fresh. The Pho bowl was nice size with lots of steak and meatballs, very good flavor. I will be back to try the hot pot.
Frequent weekend brunch choice of ours. Outside patio is comfortable and screened in. Extra bonus points for being dog friendly. Soups are well seasoned, not salty, and very well equipped with your protein of choice. Bun bo hue and the beef short rib are amazing but their pho dac biet XL is the way to go if you want an experience normally found in Houston; their XL is almost an Ocean Bowl sized portion. Seafood options abound: highly recommend the shrimp skewers and lemongrass clams. The duck salad is another frequent item on our list; fragrant vegetables and warm tender duck combine for a satisfying starter. For larger meals we've tried their hot pot and it was easily large enough to feed 3-4. Staff is very friendly and actually will come to check on your table (change from most asian places).
What a great local spot for authentic Vietnamese food. It is inside of what use to be a iHop or village inn type building. They have updated and renovated nicely. They even have outdoor seating that is screened in. Inside they have booths on the sides and tables in the middle. Bright, fresh and clean. Ordering was simple with their menu. Plenty of photos and numbers. Food came out amazingly fast well. Order pork and shrimp spring rolls. They were just the way they should be and came served with a nice peanut dipping sauce. Order the Pho with meatballs and rare beef. It was a nice portion accompanied by a plate of fresh veggies and herbs. The broth has a cinnamon base with with something else maybe cardamom. It is not overwhelming just a nice base and flavor that isn't masked. The noodles were fresh, they were a little softer than I'd like but I believe cause they were not dried out noodles. Great meal and nice relaxing atmosphere with friendly fast service!
I love this place. If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food. I highly recommend this spot. The bun bo hue is really good if you don’t mind cubed pork blood and beef tendon. The spring rolls are great and the chicken wings are delicious. We’ve been here a few times and have ordered take out. Service is always on point
By far the best Vietnamese restaurant I been in all South Florida. All dishes are prepared with great quality, full of fresh flavors, service was very nice and friendly. Nice and relaxing outdoor area. My family and I we love Asian food, always visiting new places but this is definetly now on top of our list. 5 stars I feel fall short. Is that good.
This place is very clean, the food is delicious, it is not the first time to come, it is my favorite place. Love their hot pot, very close to my taste, a period of time do not eat will miss. If you don't eat spicy can ask the waiter not to put spicy, sour and sweet very suitable for Florida weather
When you’re craving Vietnamese food beyond pho, this is the spot to visit. Their menu is larger than some other Vietnamese restaurants and it’s very, very tasty. From huge platters to unique soups, this no-frills restaurant has it all. The food is exceptionally delicious and flavorful.
I went today for lunch for the very first time to Vo An... I had a really great experience. The food was so incredible. I really enjoyed the pho with steak and the fresh spring rolls. I look forward to coming back soon! Id share a pic of my lunch expect I ate it too fast… See you guys soon and again I really appreciate the phenomenal service.
Amazing!!! I had the 27a..pho dac buc...it was delicious. I had the large and I was stuffed. I can eat alot. You know the pho is good when you can eat it without the condiments. It wasnt too salty, sweet, or overly sour. Perfect blended. The service was impeccable. I would come back in a heartbeat.
You know you are getting real Vietnamese food when they offer duck egg on their menu and after you order it the waitress tells you "maybe not for you" Same story when I ordered the seafood soup as spicy as possible and her answer "maybe not for you" and her along with table next to me were blown away that I finished the bowl.
Excellent food! The pho is the best I've had as I order the chicken Vietnamese style which is bone in and dark meat. We also love the Shaking Beef, great portion.
This place does not get enough recognition. The service was heart warming and on point. I sat outside. I had the Fresh Rolls with Shrimp Beef Pho Pot of Jasmine Tea. Excellent flavors, great place.
Mi primera vez probando comida de este país y es increíblemente sabrosa. El servicio espléndido. Recomendado.
Me encanto!
An authentic vietnamese restaurant in a converted IHOP in Broward! Not your usual Pho dishes either. They have whelk, clams and other seafood not usually seen outside of vietnamese restaurants in Houston or California! We visited with 12 people on a Sunday evening. The catfish clay pot was excellent and you can tell the caramelized sauce is home made and not from a packet. The seafood hot pot for two was perfect to share and had clams, pompano, calamari among other things. Comes with shrimp too. The Bahn Xeo was very good, crispy crepe and perfect amount of pork and shrimp inside. The sour soup was very tasty but was more sweet than I was used to. The chicken beef phos were all terrific. We ordered so many dishes we lost track! Go for the food! The minor quibble is around the wine. They have one cab, one merlot and one Pinot grigio. None of them are very good - think clos dubois. The price was reasonable as bottle prices go at $32. We tried one of their bottles and decided for the second bottle to use our own. Corkage fee was $25 per bottle which is very unreasonable when you are selling $8 clos dubois as the only house option. A more reasonable corkage fee of $10 or so, or even like most Asian restaurants, not even charge corkage would have been more customer friendly - especially in our case as we already bought one of their bottles and reused the same four glasses.
Food here is good, but a bit expensive. Service was nice and quick. Establishment looks clean and relaxing. We ordered the five items in the pictures and a bowl of pho with beef ribs. The pho here is very good.
One of the most unique in the east coast I've eaten. They have 4 plates of different snails and one balut fermented duck egg. You can rarely find these in US. These are for the true Vietnamese delicacies. Had them in Vietnam but never here, not even little Saigon, Chinatown in SF or NYC. The outdoor seating is great plenty of space. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with menu explanation and recommendations. The whelk Canadian steamed in lemongrass was a bit tough. This is normal being their size. The cilantro dip was delicious with the use snails. The balut egg was delicious with a vinegary and sweet doing sauce. The salted shrimps were good but I expected the shells to be more crispy. The summer rolls were excellent just the right balance of lettuce, noodles and shrimp along with the dipping peanut sauce. Will come back to try the hot pot and the special dish, catfish in clay pot.
The service provided here was very nice, friendly and accommodating staff. Food for me was personally OK, not the best but not the worst. Thank you for hosting us!
Very clean. Nice people but not the best Vietnamien food. Vermicelli were more like spaghettini, rolls were not the best, pork had a lot of fat and nerves. Overall the taste was good and the ambiance quiet with a lot of TV. It was a good experience but being 6 miles away, I will not make the detour to go back
BIG fan of Hai and this place! i travel ALL over USA! been slurping up pho EVERYWHERE.....hands down....THIS is best pho i have ever had! thank u Vo An! i will certainly be back!
My wife had duck soup and the broth was very good the duck had little flavor. The bamboo tastes a little bitter, maybe from a can but the waitress said Vietnamese people like it that way. I had the bbq pork chop over rice with fired egg and it was excellent. Nice outdoor space available and they let us bring our small dog.
I suppose they do very authentic food which I was not up for with my western palate. The Asian customers were numerous and they seemed to be pretty happy. I just couldn't do the pork blood cubes in my pho with the chicken organ meat that I also couldn't eat. They were possibly excellent, but not on my menu. The waiter laughed and said I should have given you western version and I agreed, not laughing. Worth a try if you like authentic Vietnamese food.
Authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Very good service and good food. We've always loved this place. The Spring rolls are delicious and they will make them vegetarian if you ask. It's now under new ownership and it's even better than before in many ways.
Curioso
I love that they have an assortment of condiments on the table. I had the pho with rare steak and my friend had the stir fry shrimp noodles. The pho was delicious but overpriced. I live in DC and I can pretty much get pho for about $10-$14. So I found this place to be a bit overpriced for Florida. The shrimp stir fry was also really good. The service was great but when we were ready to box our food the to go bowls didn’t have proper lids, so I had to tie a plastic bag around my food so it wouldn’t spill in the car. Also there was an ant in my water. All in all it was a decent experience. I would go back if there was no other pho options around.
To be fair, the taste of the food wasn’t bad, but the customer service is quite lousy. There isn’t much customer when we dine there and I have no problem of people speaking their own language, but they were joking and complaining about customer in Vietnamese quite loud and my wife happen to understand and she felt very embarrassing and annoyed. Other thing is when my wife order the my quang, the food came out extremely dry and when she ask for extra soup they just said they don’t have any … i don’t believe we happen to buy the last bowl that day they just don’t care about what customer think. I hope the owner see this cause based on the price of food and the quality of the customer service , it doesn’t surprise me there is only 2 tables on the Friday night that day. Good luck.
Oh my god. This used to be my very favorite authentic Vietnamese restaurant, but just discovered today that it probably changed to a new owner, and the food and service went straight downhill. If you are a long time returning customer like me, just don’t come! I enjoyed coming here all the time for lunch. The waitress and the waiter always greeted me warmly, and remembered my usual go-to noodles soups. I usually always ordered the duck or the Vietnamese style chicken noodle soups, and the soups used to be always full of rich flavor with thick cut meat, I could never finish one soup by myself. But holly cow! I went here today again for lunch, I immediately noticed I didn’t recognize anyone there. It used to always be kinda full during lunch time, but there was barely one or two tables today. The restaurant staff were not busily working on the floor but talking really loud in the background. I ignored all the red flags and proceeded with ordering chicken noodles soup. Geez! There was barely any chicken in the soup to start with, the very limited chicken inside were all wasted corner pieces of a regular chicken, like half of the top tip of the chicken wing etc, I’ve never had such low quality chicken in a Vietnamese restaurant ever. Almost felt like someone ate my chicken in the soup prior to serving it to me, and only left the pieces they didn’t want to eat. I used to never be able to finish one noodles soup here by myself, but today I finished it all and still didn’t feel full. Needless to say the flavor was below the standard too. At that time I realized it’s probably under new ownership now, and the new owner plans to cut the quality to make more profit. The service was also really not so great on that day. I liked the old service team especially the waitress a lot, she was one of the main reason I liked this place so much. The waiter on that day was someone I’ve never seen before, and he did not provide a decent service. Even though there were only one or two tables today there, but the waiter couldn’t wait to kick the quietly-eating-by-myself me. Before I even finished eating, the waiter took the plate I was using to place bones. I asked for water refill and napkins, the waiter ignored my request of napkins, and refilled water in a very unwilling way. Like he poured a little, then asked me if it was enough; I told him it was not and asked for more, then he poured a little more. Why he went so cheap on water refill!? Isn’t that just tap water? He also asked me if I wanted the check several times when I was still actively eating. Icing on the cake, He is not Asian, and judging by my eastern Asian appearance, he assumed I was Vietnamese and directly asked me so. I’m not Vietnamese, and I also wasn’t sure why my ethnicity was even a related topic in this dining experience, as he isn’t neither the ethnicity nor speaks the language, and we did not chat at all during the whole dining experience besides he started this ethnicity related topic out of sudden. I don’t think I’ll come back ever again unless the old owner takes it back. Or at least bring the waitress back please, this experience was horrible.
We heard good thing about the restaurant so we came and try it out. The food is ok nit top notch like we imagined. We ordered some to go then this is getting tricky. They charged us tips for our to go so we asked them why is that. They told us that to go they still have to prepare for it. I have no answer for that because it is not gonna affect my wallet for losing an extra 30 dollars but i think it is ridiculous to charge customers for to go. So be aware if you want something to go. We never come back
Food was delicious but a fly dropped in my boyfriends food. We told them quietly so no one would hear, and they did nothing. After I got the bill nothing was helped nothing was done to compensate the fact that the pho couldn’t be finished because there was a fly in his food…… unhygienic and was told it happens and that it’s out of their control. Truly a bittersweet experience def can’t go again I would be too paranoid my food will have flys. Staff was unhelpful as well.
My friend was looking for a nice Asian restaurant near his sister place in Tamarac and found this place. Which is 18 minutes away. When we arrive there are some tables that are occupied means not yet busy. A staff greeted us and lead us to our table. Gave us water and menu. After a few minutes we are ready to order. My friend wanted the hot pot so that his two sisters can try it too. We been to many hot pot but this place I am not that sure because they don’t really cater a good hot pot. But my friend insisted the hot pot so I agreed. A few minutes later our ordered came. As seen in the photos. It’s been 10,20,30 minutes and the pot hasn’t boiled yet. The soup is hot but still not that hot to cook everything. We just talk and looking at the tv screen to occupy ourselves while waiting for the hotpot to cook. I am so disappointed already so I just grab my spoon and scoop the soup and put some noodles. After an hour or so the four of us finish the hot pot. That time the place is already full. We been waiting for 15 minutes already and no one approached us to ask if we are done or ok or need anything else. I was raising my hand to call their attention. After a few attempts a guys approached us and I told him we are done but we wanted a sticky rice with mango for desert. He just said wait a minutes and go to another table to get their orders. We waited patiently, 10 minutes came still no sticky rice. My friend just shouted to the staff out bill so we can just go. He again said wait a minute. I told him it’s been 10 minutes since you told us that. He came back to us in his hands in a plastic the sticky rice but no mango. I told him never mind just give us our bill. So my recommendation, don’t order the hot pot and I also don’t recommend this place as they are slow in service. If you visit this place try their other menu. Sorry but we are not going to return to this place again.
Response to owner: Why would I come back to speak to Management when Management is one who told me to leave? Maybe you should hire a good manager who knows how to treat guests. There’s nothing worse than a restaurant being dishonest and stealing from you, on more than one occasion. I will never recommend this restaurant and will always talk bad about it. I would give zero stars if I was allowed to. This place constantly overcharged me, I ate here 4 times, the same meal and was charged a different price each time. I finally said something to what appeared to be a manager but obviously wasn’t. Once I complained about the inconsistent prices, he asked me to leave and Bebe come back. This is how they deal with complaints because they were obviously stealing from me. The bathrooms were dirty, the food was average at best. If you want a really good Vietnamese restaurant that won’t steal from you, come to PHO Ocean in Deerfield or PHO 954 in Deerfield as well. These establishments have a much better quality of food and service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP
Ive frequented this place many times prior but this visit was by far the worst experience. When we walked in there was an old man and a spanish/Mexican lady working there. The older man sat us but left everything up to this poor lady (as he spoke little to no english) to take our order, make the food, deliver the food to the table and cash us out. After flagging her down to take our order, she immediately interrupted the process saying to give her 2 minutes to package up the take out order for a customer. We sat there for about 7 more minutes as this poor lady who was running the whole place was attending to the take out order while ignoring phone calls due to the excessive work load. After she came back to take our order, we jokingly asked her how the owners left her to be a one man show for the whole restaurant and she laughed it off telling us that the owner had left the restaurant. WOW! We own a restaurant too so I can't imagine what the owner was thinking just leaving everything up to this one lady which took away from the whole experience, having to patiently wait just to have our orders taken. When the pho arrived, the soup was luke warm, a problem which they've had since they first opened and still persisted. I had to ask her to microwave it for me which is strange request for a pho restaurant to ask for hot soup? All in all, I think this was my last straw with this place. Only reason why I gave it another chance was because pho gia vi next door was closed on Thursdays.
