Hope you like queso because theirs is amazebawls. Been here more than a few times, it is not like east Texas is running out of Mexican restaurants but with a little bit of curiosity you can run into a better one than what is down the street. Definitely best one in town, does not matter what you order, you are going to be happy.

Passing through Marshall from Hot Springs & stopped in for dinner. Quaint little Mexican restaurant with friendly staff & clean restrooms. The food was great & their margaritas delish!!

Driving through from out of town and we see a sign for jalapeño tree, so we stop but there is a 45 minute wait. Across the street we see Jose Tequilas where we’re seated immediately (in a booth, my fav!) and waited on right away. Our delicious fajita meal came out about 5 minutes later, and we enjoyed it very much along with the queso and salsa! Such a wonderful meal with awesome service which makes me so confused as to why there was such a long wait at the other place when this place was ready to serve guests right away. We finished our meal before we would have even been seated at Jalapeno tree! I highly recommend Jose Tequilas!

The food was excellent. If you need a little kick of spice, ask for their hotter red sauce and a grilled jalapeño. Service was excellent also.

Had a going away party today and my coworkers got fajitas, beans, rice, and all the fixings catered. Everything was absolutely amazing! My coworker stated that they carried the food to the car, great customer service, and reasonable prices. I didn’t know their fajitas were soooooooo good!

My husband and I eat here frequently as it is our favorite Mexican food restaurant in Marshall. Recently my husband was badly injured in an ATV accident and the owners of Jose Tequila's have gone out of their way to make us feel like family. We can't thank you all enough for your kindness and your great food!

The food is always very delicious and filling - we usually even take home a to go box !! Well worth the money and it’s not that expensive..

Excellent food! Excellent service! Fun atmosphere! My husband and I discovered this gem on a whim on night, and it's now "our place" to go when at home! Have never had a bad dish here- anything & everything from the menu is quality. The owners are generally present in the restaurant & happy to help their staff. This speaks highly to the family atmosphere of the place!

For a first timer this was a good place to eat. All calm. Food is good. The dipping salsas, I’m not used to having them cold. All else is good. I do love the décor especially the chairs. Wish I could of get some like those.

Stopped by and food was awesome! And the chips and guac where amazing too! Flavor was great! We ordered enchiladas and the order came out quick and tasted great as well! Very good customer service too. Will definitely come again if ever stop by in Marshall again.

First time here, we will definitely be back. Good food and good Margarita! We went in the middle of the day and the lunch specials are good until 4 🥰. We had the beef quesadilla, taco, and a chili relleno.

This was our first time here and they certainly did not disappoint!! The white queso is amazing, guacamole was as well! I got the chicken fajita nachos on the recommendation of our server, my husband got a rice dish with chicken and shrimp, also recommended by our server. He was fabulous and attentive without being overbearing. We even asked for the manager to tell her how amazing our meal and service was!! We will definitely be back!!

We had chicken enchiladoes, beans and rice, buttered corn tortillas,hot sauce and quesa dip. It was very good. Had the lunch special. And have leftovers for dinner. We will be back

Always good food no matter which dish. It so helpful when server informs client that dish they ordering is on lunch special ..but this one did not. Charged her full dinner price. Manager is so great he will make it right my next visit. Boots ready..says I go next time!!!

We really enjoyed our dinner from Jose’s. We ordered out since we wanted to hit the road home. Our food came quickly and was hot. My daughter was extra thirsty and was able to get a water while we made our selection. I had the shrimp nachos and she order a special enchilada dish. Both were delicious. We would definitely go again.

We've always enjoyed this place, but this visit was a little lackluster. The red salsa tasted like tomato juice, while the green sauce is available on request, but was still really good. My wife said her Ranchero beans weren't good, but she liked her shrimp enchiladas. I judge Tex Mex by the cheese enchiladas, and these can't be beat: they use real cheese and a very tasty white queso on top. The iced tea tasted like tea, so that's a plus, too.

The food was delicious, aside from typical generic beans and rice. Queso blanco, chihuahua shrimp, chimichangas, etc. Highly recommended. Not really a wait time to speak of on seating and food was promptly prepared. Service a little lacking but could have been this particular server. All in all great

Very attentive staff, clean facilities, tasty food and healthy portions all in a colorfully decorated restaurant. It seemed to take a bit long to get our food only to receive my order wrong but they quickly fixed it, hence the four stars.

Very flavorful food. Would have given them 5 stars but the green salsa was a bit bitter and bland. In addition to the normal red salsa, they have a spicy salsa available on request which is awesome.

Jose Tequila's has been very consistently good and very quick. Although one night in January 2018, the service was not up to the normal standards. We had to ask several times for corn tortillas and ended up with flour tortillas. The had to ask for lemons for our waters twice and never received them.

The food and service is good but they could make the hot sauce better it tasted like it had too much tomatoes in it. It needed to be spiced up!

I loved the service. The young lady who was my server was super. The food was good but just not great. Sadly I'm not sure what would have made it better. I think maybe it was portion size. But it did taste good.

Our food was hot, chips and salsa, were fresh. We ordered the Chipotle shrimp, with rice and beans. I gave it a 4 star due to we were expecting the the dish to be spicy, that was why we chose that plate, it wasn't.

So my waiter was Eduardo he did a really good job really nice young man. I'm going to be honest with you the salsa completely sucks way too tomatoey I got the straight tacos some type of meat with pineapple in it It was pretty good The people with me got enchiladas they really like them The queso was really good The sweet tea was really good I would not recommend a bloody Mary It had a wang to it that was really not good I would say that this place is okay like biggest complaint would be the salsa if they could get that I would give this a lot better rating but I would come back My buddy got a Coors light draft with lime and he said it was really good but I know the sweet tea was really good

Delicious food, pretty much your regular TexMex menu. They are incredibly consistent with their dishes being good, even with the dining room packed. The servers are always attentive and very pleasant. My only complaint is the salsa. Its not awful, just a little too similar to chunky to tomato soup. I highly recommend this place, plus I've never had to wait to be seated. Good, somewhat inexpensive food.

I liked it. We had the lunch menu & it was filling. The salsa tasted fresh. The iced tea was done well, strong without being bitter. The prices were $7-11 for lunch menu. One thing I didn't like was that the music was blaring. I came for good food & time with my family not a concert.

This is one of those standard Tex Mex restaurants. It has a expansive menu and an okay salsa. The service is typically good and the food comes out quickly. The alcoholic drinks are average. It stay fairly busy but I have never had to wait long for a table. It’s one of those places you go to because the meal is affordable and the staff is typically friendly.

I stopped by Jose Tequila’s while traveling for work and appreciated the fast service. I ordered from the front, and my food came out quickly, which was great. The meal was good, and I always enjoy trying local small businesses when I travel. I’d consider stopping by again if I’m in the area.

Dined here for lunch and had the chimichanga grande (chicken) with sour cream sauce. Portion was a good size and food was very good. Had the guacamole which was a little salty but still good. Chips and salsa were also good would definitely go back (was my first time here) and try other dishes.

Good portion for lunch. They always serve up tortilla chips and salsa right away. I had chicken tacos. It was very tasty. Mind you the portions are small for a big eater, but with the rice and beans it was perfect for a lunch portion. I only gave it 4 stars because I prefer tacos with a lot of cilantro and the tortillas were OK bit again I've had better elsewhere. Still a good find for marshall TX I think

With a name like Joe Tequila I figured it couldn't be terrible. One of the specialities was shrimp enchiladas in a Tequila cream sauce. Server said they didn't make it at this location. The next thing I wanted, same story, had Tequila as an ingredient but unavailable at this location. Began to wonder if their liquor license had been pulled so I asked how they made their margaritas. With Tequila. Odd. So I ordered the fajitas trio, chicken, steak, and shrimp. I explained to my server, "Where I come from that's called "Texas Fajitas"." She didn't crack a smile, even. I ordered a Modelo Especial and got amber. Wasn't the language. Highlight, free queso with chips and salsa. Fajita trio was great. For my first IRL Tex-Mex, it was pretty good. Don't confuse it with the old Taco Bell building next door. That's a Chinese-food joint these days.

When your server collects everyone's glasses (5)for refills without labeling them how do they know who's is who's. Wouldn't it be easier to use pictures to refill the drinks. After all getting a new glass would be far to cost burdening.

I guess for the town of Marshall the Mexican food here is pretty good. My pet peeve though is when chips are reheated and still glistening with oil. The portion size is good for the price. The waitress was very nice.

Fair pricing, good food, even better service. Edit: 3/24/21 Had Brooklyn as our server tonight, when our meal came she asked if we wanted more chips and salsa, I said yes and asked for jalapeños. She took our chip bowl and didn't come back until she brought the bill. Waited until my nachos were soggy til I gave up and just ate them without jalapeños. Also sat most of our meal with empty drinks. Food was good as always, but if wasn't for good past experiences with this establishment and this was my first time there I would not come back.

Food was fast and hot. Small portions. Asked about a drink menu for alcohol, but was told they didn't have one and all they served was what was listed in the menu which was soda and tea, yet almost everybody in there had margaritas. Waitress didn't offer up alcohol choices, despite my questioning. Nice place and food was good.

They have reasonable prices and very good food. Up until recently the atmosphere was nice. The last 2 times we have been there, there has been an unpleasant smell like sewage or plumbing. Even though this used to be one of my favorite places for Mexican in Marshall I will not return until they correct the smell.

This use to be one of my favorite places to go for good Tex Mex food. My last few visits have been less than stellar. This visit the waitress was on the verge of being rude, the food seems to be made with cheaper ingredients, and they also have started charging extra for everything. I had beef fajitas and when I ran out of tortillas and asked for a couple more I was told she would have to charge extra. Send like that is a main part of the meal. As a faithful patron of this place it’s just a shame to see the quality and service decline. I never right negative reviews to hurt a business in anyway, more to advise of the issues to hopefully see an improvement and see them thrive. I know this economy is effecting everyone but it’s harder for the average person to go out and enjoy a meal without quality and service not being on par. I will be back, hoping to see maybe that my experience has not fallen on deaf ears. Hang in there Jose Tequilas, I haven’t given up on you yet.

Way too many up charges they charged for extra onion, jalapenos, a side of rice and beans was way too much and 1 enchilada we could have gotten a nother meal for what we were charged

Waitress was NOT on point at all. She didn't bring me any butter that I asked for twice. We never got refills on our drinks and when one person asked for more salsa he was brought an overflowing bowl but nobody else received any. I have only been to eat here a few times but after tonight I probably won't go back

Fast, friendly service! Hot sauce sucks, but I enjoyed my sour cream enchiladas and rice. Hot sauce hardly has flavor and zero spice! I would come back and get queso and chips instead of hot sauce and chips next time😁

First thing a Mexican Restaurant is judged on is the first thing they bring you. Chips were maybe average. Hot sauce was a fail. Something strange about the taste, and not very hot. Then my order came out wrong. Probably not worth a second chance for me.

Ask if they could grill my trio plate with Jalapenos instead of bell peppers... they only brought me 1 roasted Jalapeno.. shrimp was dry & also the meat... chicken was ok.. & sweet tea had no sweet in it... I wanted to go & talked to the cook & give him some tips on how to cook shrimp and fajitas... tortillas was also a no Go.. but that's my thought other people like ... I'm from South Texas & I can tell what's really Authentic Mexican Food..

Sub par the service was good but the food was bland and the salsa was like tomato v8 juice doctored up and the green sauce has a cucumber taste thats none appealing and the beans aren't that good either. I would taking someone out there to have a good time on a date!

Food was good enough and deserves a better review than this, I’m more frustrated in the presentation and the amount. Ordered fajitas and delivered on a plate! Not a skillet!!! Of all the fajitas I’ve ordered and all the restraints I’ve visited, I’ve never been served fajitas on a plate!!! And they’ve always been more than 4 forkfuls! I mean serious, I ordered fajitas and water and requested NO chips and y’all charged 10 dollars for 6 pieces of chicken and some slivers of green pepper and onion and then toss it on a plate! Absolutely ridiculous!!! And no cares given by anyone! I’ll take my 10 dollars to Taco Bell next time I’m passing through this town and get hungry!

this place was recommended to me and my daughter by a stranger.i asked some people where was a good place for Mexican since we aren't from this town.i will be really honest it was not the best experience or even close to what others have said.it started with our waiter Eduardo.he was the most overbearing waiter I've ever had in my life.he asked at least 7 times in minutes if we were ready to order even tho I said no please we need a few min we have never been here and have never looked at this menu.he continued to come every 60 seconds.then he rushed us through our food.at the end i asked for to go boxes twice and was completely ignored.the 3rd time he got them.i still tipped about 9 dollars but he needs to work on his tableside manners.the food was ok just mediocre.my daughter and I both ordered fajitas.the steak was suuuuper tough and u barely get any if u do the steak shrimp combo.the pinto beans were good the chips,salsa and white queso were good.the atmosphere was meh and our table rocked really bad.overall it was just ok but I wouldn't eat fajitas for 18 dollars here again.

I gave him a two-star and I'm being kind. We had 12 people in our party and nobody's food was good. Some orders were done wrong, two orders were mistakenly given to the wrong people. I heard somebody at the table say the chips and salsa was the best thing and I didn't care for either the chips or the salsa.

Waitress brought a sopapilla with no butter.honey already applied. I asked for butter and the bill. She did not come back for 10 min! The sopapilla was cold then. I asked her to take it off n she told me I had eaten half! All I did was cut it up! Rude and I will never go back! Been going for yrs

I figured the margaritas would be decent with a name that has tequila. My wife got the chicken quesadilla which was the only thing worth eating wouldn’t suggest anything that’s beef and they forgot our drinks.

I ordered the basic cheese enchiladas with rice, and the meal came with free chips and dip. The dip tasted pretty bad. How bad? I’m pretty sure it’s worse then what’s served by Nacho at the church orphanage, and will cause me to have diarrhea past easters. Like even the New York salsa guy would ask the Pace Picante cowboys for a rope. What about the cheese enchiladas? It tasted like the packet of cheese I make kraft macaroni and cheese with. The rice was decent though.

Was not impressed. Ordered veggie fajitas, no cheese with corn tortillas. Cheese covered the plate and we received flour tortillas. We were then given 4 corn tortillas for two separate plates of fajitas. And we were charged for them. We were also charged for a cup of water. But we were able to get those charges taken off.

Our family started coming here recently and love the food. However our last visit our waitress was very rude and didnt bring things we asked for and seemed put out having to wait on us. Also got charged for drinks that the kids menu says is included in the price. They would not take off the charge. It was all very disappointing.

This was one of the saddest bottom of the barrel sad excuse for Tex mex food. Server really tries to force guacamole and queso on you even after being told no thank you twice. Server walked around the restaurant eating. Was hoping for an authentic experience and it was anything but. Wouldn’t recommend

On a first time visit, I do have to say that I will never be back. The waitresses went out of their way to be rude. I ordered a large bowl of queso and I found a hair in it before I even took my first bite so I asked for it to be taken back and I ended up with the same bowl of queso. Absolutely unacceptable.

The food was very small portions and didn't taste good. A half shot of crown was $8.50...RIDICULOUS!! We asked to talk to the owner about the outrageous price...he ran and hid. He sent his wife over instead. What a coward!!! We will NEVER be back to a restaurant who can't respect the customers! Shame on u...Jose!!! 🤢🤮🤬😨

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. Not only was our server absent most of our visit, no drink refills, didn’t ask us how the food was. Our food was absolutely disgusting, I wouldn’t feed it to my worse enemy. Our server came to get our drink order, food order and give us our tab, nothing more. I couldn’t even eat my food it was so bad. My daughter didn’t touch hers either. I wouldn’t come back here if it was the last place on earth. 100% do not recommend.

Do not trust this restaurant. I was over charged for my food on delivery. So I called them to let them know. And the driver came back to get the order. And had an attitude with me about an order I was over charged for. Then tried to charge me $10 for a tea. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are RUDE. And will lie about your charge and you have the receipt and your credit card statement to prove them wrong... Don't waste your money or time on this nasty food. And RUDE customer service

I had a really disappointing experience at Jose Tequila’s. From the start, the service felt rude and uncomfortable. Our waiter literally slammed all of our plates down on the table instead of setting them down normally, which felt really disrespectful. It made the whole meal awkward and honestly kind of ruined the vibe. On top of that, the service was slow and it didn’t seem like anyone really cared about giving good customer service. For a place that should be about enjoying a meal with family or friends, the experience just wasn’t pleasant. I definitely expected a lot better and probably won’t be coming back. The food was really greasy . The waiter had an attitude the whole time. The bathroom soap didn’t even have a lid on it.
