Sammie truly exhibited customer service. Never leaving my coffee cup empty and always checking in on us. The omelet was fluffy and filling. A great experience.

We celebrated my sister’s birthday and had an amazing experience. Service was great and delicious fresh food. Can’t wait to be back!

It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and Sammie’s service was incredibly warm and attentive. She recommended the house specialties and checked in with us to make sure the flavors suited our taste. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.

This is our go to breakfast place. Sammie is fantastic! Every item on the menu is delicious. Got the mom omelette and it did not disappoint.

Wanted to try something new and WOW they did not disappoint. We had Salmon Avacodo Toast, Country Skillet with Loaded Cheese Grits and French toast with the sausage and eggs added! Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was all working together, they all seemed so happy and helpful towards one another. Something you don’t typically see.

Great food + fast service = perfect brunch. Everything came out quickly and was full of flavor. My top recommendation is the Nutella crepes — absolutely worth it!

☕✨ Such a beautiful coffee shop! Spacious, cozy, and full of great vibes. We had a wonderful time here with a group of amazing women during a networking business event 👍 there was so much space for everyone, and the outdoor area is just lovely. The coffee is excellent, the “Mom” omelette was just perfect, and Javier, the manager, truly knows hospitality 🪄warm, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home. A spot I’ll definitely be coming back to again and again. 💛 very photogenic place :)

Food was delicious and came out fairly fast. I got the cinnastack and my mom got the "mom" omelette. The environment is adorable and akin to a cafe mixed with a restaurant. Vanessa was very sweet and kind but she definitely needs to work on being more attentive. I did see that she was busy with other responsibilities almost the entire time we were there and was preventing her from coming to attend the table. I wouldn't say she was lazy, i think she was just overwhelmed with other things when her tables should come first. Overall great experience though and Vanessa was perfect when she was attending us.

Service was so good! Our server was Vanessa & she was so kind and on point. She kept checking back in with us to see if we needed anything! Food was good. Had the veggie omelette, hashbrown, and a pancake. My husband had chicken tenders and the cinnacakes. & my toddler had the Açaí bowl. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of our food😂 but overall great experience. We’ll be back! Ask for Vanessa 😆

Amazing breakfast and lunch spot! Food was great, service was timely, the owner JZ was sociable and accommodating; working hard with his team, and Alexis serving us went above and beyond. Definitely returning and recommending!

The Border Benedict: This is a bold, savory take on a Benedict and it commits to it... The base is a crisp potato cake instead of an English muffin. It adds structure and gives the dish a better texture contrast. It holds up under the chopped steak and green chile hollandaise without getting soggy. The steak is well seared with good color and a clean, beef-forward flavor. Not chewy. Not overly fatty. It feels deliberate and balanced against the sauce. The eggs are poached soft. Whites fully set. Yolks run freely and blend into the hollandaise, creating a richer, almost gravy-like finish once broken. The yolk adds depth and smooths out the mild heat from the green chile sauce. It is messy in a good way. The green chile hollandaise is creamy with subtle smoke and controlled spice. The fresh jalapeño slices add brightness and cut through the richness. Hash browns are classic diner style. Crisp on the outside, tender inside. Reliable and consistent. Overall this is rich, filling, and flavor forward. It leans heavy but stays cohesive. Rating: 8.7/10 I would order it again.

Sammie made our first time here AMAZING! Food was of great quality, especially the feta avocado toast. Mimosas were super yummy and Sammie had great recommendations along with a winning smile and personality! Y’all will be seeing me all summer long!

I came in for breakfast today and everything was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The flavors were spot on and the portions were perfect. Sarah was our server and she was amazing, very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. The service and food together made it such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

5 stars! Absolutely outstanding experience at Broken Yolk Cafe in McKinney! Everything we ordered was phenomenal, but the chicken fried steak and eggs was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy, tender, and flavorful. And that lemon pancake? Life-changing. It was so light, bright, and delicious that it has completely ruined all other pancakes for me. I seriously won’t order pancakes anywhere else now. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The atmosphere is super inviting, cozy, and welcoming; you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Huge shoutout to the owner, John, for doing an incredible job reviving this spot and making it his own. He clearly poured his heart into it, and it shows in every detail. This place is a gem—highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing breakfast or brunch! We’ll definitely be back soon!🤠

With the change to daylight savings time, Sammie our server made our breakfast a truly wonderful experience. Her input helped us to select a wonderful breakfast. The food was delicious. Even with having a crowd waiting, the staff was gracious about getting us seated asap. Great brunch!

We have been coming here for a long time and always have an amazing experience! This restaurant is very clean and always offers great food and excellent service. Additionally, our server, Sammie is top notch! When we are at a table of hers, our drinks are never get low and she ensures that everything is as it should be. Great breakfast place. The atmosphere is fun and the service was super. Got a chance to meet the owner. He is young and very down to earth. Great guy. I would have to say this was the best breakfast I have ever had. The Ranchero Skillet has a spicy kick to it, so beware. I really enjoyed it. Weekends here are usaully packed, so I would recommend going on weekdays. There is a patio in the back with play area for kids, but this morning was a bit chilly, so we stayed inside.

Tried this new place today for breakfast. Love the upscale diner vibes. Their menu is different from other places with lots of options and a full bar. I’ll definitely be back to try the mimosa flight sometime. I had the sweet trio as a combo with eggs and sausage. Daughter had the Nutella crepes and husband the California burrito. Everything was fresh and cooked well (except my eggs weren’t over medium as I ordered but still good) Delish! Coffee was fresh and string. Prices were okay for this kind of place, drink prices a little high as coffee was $4 but reasonable. I’ll definitely be back. I’ll bet it’s very busy on weekends but they do have a wait list. Staff was great and service was good. Definitely recommend it.

Had the best breakfast/brunch this morning! Our waitress was Sara and she was awesome! So attentive and patient (even though we outstayed our welcome) she was sooo great about it! Food was delicious and even though I customized my order, Sara was great about it! French toast was delish! The only negative is the fruit nats that seemed to get worse as our food sat there but maybe there’s something that can be done about that! Other than that, we’ll definitely be back!

The Broken Yolk Café has officially landed in McKinney, and wow—they’re already bustling! From the moment you take your first bite, you know it’s totally worth it. Everything they serve is spot-on: fresh ingredients, generous portions, and flavors that feel like a warm hug from the inside. Whether you’re craving breakfast, brunch, or a satisfying lunch, they’ve got you covered—and they do it exceptionally well. The patio is a total bonus! Sunny vibes, cute photo spots, and maybe even a chance for a doggie cameo. It’s the kind of space that makes you want to sit, sip, snack, and linger just a little longer. Highly recommend!

Went with a friend around 12:30 and our timing was perfect, we joined the waitlist about 20 minutes early and got seated right away. We sat out on the patio, which has a great vibe and overlooks an event area. The skillet was delicious, and the place overall is super cute, perfect for a casual brunch with friends! Parking was a bit tricky since there was an outdoor event and lots of people around, but definitely worth it. ☀️🍳

Mimosa flight was delicious the pineapple was definitely the star of the show! The cina cakes were good and perfect flavor just a tad bit dry for my liking! Everything else was cooked good I love me some bacon! Ivan was our server and he was AMAZING! The place was quiet and nice!

This is a great place for your family. There is a fun place to play in the middle. The food is really good and they have lots of Hispanic inspired dishes that are just delicious. I highly recommend the chilaquiles. Right now, they have seasonal beverages and you can get the trio which could do a sample of three of the desserts. Hailey was amazing. She went above and beyond.

I went with my family around 10 am. Seating us was fast and the service good. We ordered chilaquiles verdes with chicken , French toast and meat lovers omelette. The experience would have been perfect if it was not so noisy, the place was not packet though. Also a little pricey for breakfast. We spend around $24 per person but if it worth. The portions and quality of the food was really good 👍🏻

Been planning to have breakfast at this place for some time now and we finally made it here today! Spacious, Airy with both inside and patio dining this pace has tons of seating. Sammie (Samantha ) took care of all our needs very courteously and kindly. The food was brought out to us as soon as they were ready and till then our cup of coffee was constantly filled to the brim! The Avocado toast was a hugh slice and accompanied by 2 poached eggs which we shared. Then I had the classic and Caprese Bennie’s combo with hash browns, while the better half had the Sope and Border Benedict combo with home fries.. Everything was made well! We will return soon.

Had the absolute best experience this morning catching breakfast. From the moment we were greeted at the door to leaving satisfied beyond expectations it was amazing! Steak and eggs for me, taking a chance on breakfast steaks, and was pleasantly surprised. Cooked to perfection and definitely not a small serving at all. Hash browns were crisp, hot, and tasty. Eggs just right, over medium and perfect. My sister got the Monte Cristo sandwich, she loved it, and it was so substantial I got to eat one-quarter of it…yum! My wife got the cinnamon pancakes. DO NOT GET a full stack!!! They are the size of a wagon wheel!! She got a short stack and all three of us dug in on them as well! The were absolutely incredible! A totally great experience! Server was great and John the manager and I had a great conversation about how good things were…and did the secret Army handshake!

Everything tasted homemade, flavorful, and prepared with care. It’s the kind of food that makes you happy — and that says a lot because I don’t usually eat much, but I really enjoyed my meal. Owner JZ clearly creates an environment where both the staff and customers feel valued. You can see it in the smiles around the room. The customer service is top-tier, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you belong there. Honestly, if I loved cooking like this, I’d volunteer to work here! That’s how positive and inspiring the experience was. Highly recommend!

Walked into BYC on a random Friday morning for a quick breakfast with my sister. The place was clean, nice ambience and really good coffee… the food did come out a little cold but it was still very delicious.. definitely would visit again. The service was pretty great as well. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating.

Went to Broken Yolk Cafe for the second time today. We had fabulous service from Sammie. My cinnamon pancakes were delicious! We also tried Moms omelette it was ok wish it had more cheese and eggs. We love the patio and kid friendly location. Highly recommend getting on their waitlist before going in.

I’ve been here many of times to include the ones in California. I have come here almost every Sunday and have had sourdough toast every time and they were trying to tell me this was sourdough…I think I know what toasted white bread smells like and taste like compared to sourdough. Quality at this location has been lacking and hash browns portions have become smaller and thinner. Might have to find a new Sunday brunch spot

Amazing service by Sarah!! Friendly, quick and patient! Very modern decor with not very comfortable chairs. It's loud and hard to hear your conversation so not very good for small talk or noise sensitive people. I had chicken and waffles: portion size was average with decent flavor, good food but overpriced for what it is.

I have to say I am disappointed with the place due to the food and service. I went for breakfast on sunday morning with my little ones. We were promptly seated. Ordered Coffee, kids pancakes with fruit and fries(both kinds) and Ranchero Skillet. Kids loved their breakfast, Skillet was meh. The red onion topped over powered the flavor and it was difficult to get past the strong uncooked onion flavor. I ordered the Cinna Cake to go as I had a coupon for birthday month and had to mention it is to go 3 times atleast even though I asked that way when I ordered.

The service & atmosphere are really nice! I strongly feel an upgrade is necessary: every waffle & pancake order should come with WARM syrup. The syrup is already on the table, and pouring it on my waffle made it instantly cold. The cold syrup is also corn syrup-based, so it has a consistency of thick glue when cold. If waffles are $10-$14 each not including any sides or eggs, the minimum it should come with is warm syrup. This isn’t picky; this is standard.

I would read this BEFORE you go! Atmosphere is loud. Like louder than a traditional iHop I could barely hear my husband. They do not have the staffing to fit the demand of the people, where our drinks from the bar came out after we were halfway done with our meal and we ordered our drinks before our meal. I got the basic avocado toast, it was very bland, no seasoning and the bread was not even toasted. My husband got the churro French toast and he said it was just drowned in normal sugar little cinnamon and it was bland as well. Portion size isn’t worth it for the price. And our server seemed to be more interested in serving a bigger size table more than us, we rarely got checked on and it seems like the food was thrown together in a rushed sense which you’d think wouldn’t be due to the time it took for it to get out of the kitchen. It even took about 10 minutes for the check to be brought out. Not a friendly atmosphere for kids either. Me and my husband probably won’t be back, there are far better options to go eat breakfast than this slightly upscale iHop.
