Caife' Erin Mendon Reviews
Stopped in the village mid-ride today while cruising the rail trail—had a craving for coffee but found Erin’s Café Diner instead. Mr. Baker cooked up a hamburger and a side of perfectly crispy fries that absolutely hit the spot halfway through my 50-mile ride. Friendly service, great local feel, and exactly the kind of small business worth supporting when you’re pedaling through Mendon, New York. Highly recommend! 🚴♂️☕🍔
This is Bob my World War II Navy veteran best friend .We down to visit Café Erin . Richard made us the best burger. Bob said it was the best he ever had. While we were there, a woman came in for a cup of coffee was introduced to Bob and came back in five minutes later with this nice bouquet of flowers to thank Bob for his service. She owns a lovely floral shop right across the way from Café Erin. Such a nice little café, hidden away in the town of Menden. Great food, highly recommended.

We come here every few weeks for breakfast on Sunday. The food is great and they are very accommodating to our three small children. There are coloring books and other toys that keep the kids busy while we wait for our food. We will definitely be back! It is great to have a place like this in Mendon.
Rich is amazing. I always order the Irish breakfast and am always impressed. Real black and white sausage and thick cut bacon! Kids talk about the pancakes all weekend long. If you are in the area you should absolutely swing by.
Today was our first visit to Caife Erin and we loved it! My husband had the corned beef hash and eggs, which was amazing with a large portion of beautifully cooked corned beef and potatoes! I had a western omlette that was fluffy and perfectly prepared. The owner waited on us and prepared our food. He was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely go back to try some other items on the menu!
Good spot with good food. Richard the owner is an awesome guy. Accommodating to food requests. He makes some really good corned beef hash. The place has a great atmosphere too. Feels like it was decorated for love of Ireland.
We found this extremely friendly hole in the wall cafe and shared great conversation with Richard, the Irish owner. Delicious homemade breakfast with generous portions and good coffee! Richard took an interest in talking to my son about his hockey showcase. We went back the following morning for another and to share that we won the game! See you next time we're in Rochester, Richard. Warm regards from Florida... Lisa, Rich and Jacob
Absolutely wonderful breakfast. The Irish music, attentive staff, and family atmosphere gave us a unique & cozy experience. Food was great — locally sourced and perfectly cooked! We will be back!
What a wonderful local treasure! Chef Richard is kind and welcoming and his food is delicious! We’ve tried the Reuben, Irish stew, and fish fry dinner and everything is fantastic!
It's a cozy, friendly atmosphere. The decor made me feel like I was at my Nana's house for Sunday family brunch. Upon walking in I was greeted by the chef who I assume is also the owner. He has a welcoming charm and is very attentive. Upon reviewing the menu, I found it simply wonderful. I didn't know what item I wanted they all sounded great. I decided to throw it all on black with the special menu option chefs choice. And I have to say it was the best decision I made. While sitting at the table I watched the chefs gear turn as a welcome challenge was presented to him. He presented me with a dish I was left speechless with. Upon setting it in front of me he told me I just made cafe Erin history as the fourth person to ever of had this dish. Eating with my eyes first I was met with awe, a lovely golden fried goat cheese log, on a creamy green sauce. Paired with a grilled summer squash and zucchini on a buttery sauce with two of the fluffiest poached eggs I've ever had. The yolk was salty and creamy pairing well with the veggies and butter sauce while the savory explosion from the goat cheese log complimented every other bite. Can't recommend this hidden gem enough.
Had delicious Irish breakfast and corned beef hash. Very friendly service, will return for sure.
Absolutely loved the Irish vibe here! The owner, Richard, shared stories of his Irish roots while preparing our breakfast! We were here visiting for a basketball tournament and were so happy we found this quaint, vibrant place! My wife is gluten free and Richard was very knowledgeable and had wonderful options for her. Can't wait to visit here again! Definitely want to try their fish fry next visit!!
My husband and I had the best food and experience here after church this past Sunday!! Too start, the owner Richard, his chef Shawn and the chefs wife Wendy who was our server were the absolute nicest, accommodating, professional staff they could be! Before we even ate, I was already glad we came! Richard, being from Dublin, cooks authentic Irish meals I couldn’t replicate if I tried! We were there for breakfast but he gave me a sample of his family’s Coddle recipe ( let’s call that Irish stew)- and is was so tasty we took a quart of it home ! My breakfast was wonderful - not greasy like some breakfast places. I ordered scrambled eggs with honey infused in, that came with a side of corn relish which was very tasty - probably not something I would have thought of either. My husband had grits with shrimp - and now he’s asking me how hard it is to make grits, lol. We plan to go back for a dinner! Friday nights they have a fish fry which we will definitely make a trip for- in person for sure!! The homeyness and care these people took made it all the better! Please go support this restaurant! ❤️
I enjoyed a lunch here with girlfriends. Rich Baker was extremely accommodating. I had his chicken special for the day. It was delicious and priced fairly. We never felt rushed and enjoyed a relaxing lunch. He told us that he would make sure there were options that would fit any of our dietary requirements with just a phone call ahead. I will definitely go back to have his fish fry knowing he uses a similar recipe as Crabby Dans! Great job Rich!
Another visit to Caifé Erin and we had a very enjoyable breakfast. Our first visit was some coffee, and a breakfast sandwich. This visit we had the vegetable omelet which was a perfect way to start our day. Richard is a wonderful host/chef, and we had such a nice easy interaction with the other guests.
Met some friends here this past Sunday for a late breakfast. Service was wonderful, everyone was very friendly. Atmosphere was very cozy. We all got the corned beef hash, so good! Very much home made, and I would def recommend their homemade banana bread. Great little spot, so nice to have a good breakfast/lunch option out by Mendon!
My sister and her family invited us to have brunch here and it was absolutely wonderful. Bit of a hidden gem, but The Irish breakfast was fantastic and everyone enjoyed their meal. After talking with the cook, sounds like he has an awesome background cooking and we will be back again. Food was so good we had finished it before we remembered to take some pictures.
Great food, environment and wonderful service! Perfect place for bringing my very young children for breakfast
Richard is absolutely fabulous! He welcomes you in, prepares the food the way you like it, and makes the experience very enjoyable. I've had the breakfast skillet, rueben sandwich, and the grain bowl. All were excellent! And the coffee is amazing!!! Highly recommend!
