We recently want to have traditional Irish breakfast. We were a small group of 5 . We were greeted by the owner who’s also the chef and were made to feel like we were at his home while he cooked breakfast for us and his kitchen. The food was delicious and fresh. I had the traditional Irish breakfast. He customize everything perfectly. Highly recommend.

What a lovely place to have breakfast! It's a family atmosphere and sometimes his daughters are there with him and they make it even more special!

Have stopped a couple of times for breakfast shortly after they opened and decided to stop by today for the fish fry. It was delicious! Fish was perfectly cooked and the portions were very generous and I had leftovers to bring home. Enjoyed having broccoli salad instead of the traditional coleslaw. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be stopping by again!

Our family of 4 has eaten at Caifé Erin twice now, and we will continue to come back. The food is delicious. The gentleman who saw to us (whom I believe is also the owner) is delightful and his service was great! There is plenty of seating inside and some cute little tables and chairs to dine outside as well. The bathroom amenities are the best we have ever seen as it is very accommodating! For 5 meals, plus extra items we spent less than $80!

Not your run-of-the-mill dining establishment. Pride in quality and presentation shows. It's not fast food or food fast, but soooo worth the wait. Some unique Irish dishes from a chef actually from Ireland.

My wife and I both had the fish and chips, and it was delicious with generous portions. The star of the show were the chips that were perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Seat yourself and pay at the counter.

Stopped in the village mid-ride today while cruising the rail trail—had a craving for coffee but found Erin’s Café Diner instead. Mr. Baker cooked up a hamburger and a side of perfectly crispy fries that absolutely hit the spot halfway through my 50-mile ride. Friendly service, great local feel, and exactly the kind of small business worth supporting when you’re pedaling through Mendon, New York. Highly recommend! 🚴‍♂️☕🍔

This is Bob my World War II Navy veteran best friend .We down to visit Café Erin . Richard made us the best burger. Bob said it was the best he ever had. While we were there, a woman came in for a cup of coffee was introduced to Bob and came back in five minutes later with this nice bouquet of flowers to thank Bob for his service. She owns a lovely floral shop right across the way from Café Erin. Such a nice little café, hidden away in the town of Menden. Great food, highly recommended.

We come here every few weeks for breakfast on Sunday. The food is great and they are very accommodating to our three small children. Today was our first visit to Caife Erin and we loved it! My husband had the corned beef hash and eggs, which was amazing with a large portion of beautifully cooked corned beef and potatoes! I had a western omlette that was fluffy and perfectly prepared. The owner waited on us and prepared our food. He was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely go back to try some other items on the menu!

We found this extremely friendly hole in the wall cafe and shared great conversation with Richard, the Irish owner. Delicious homemade breakfast with generous portions and good coffee! See you next time we're in Rochester, Richard. Warm regards from Florida... Lisa, Rich and Jacob

It's a cozy, friendly atmosphere. The decor made me feel like I was at my Nana's house for Sunday family brunch. Upon walking in I was greeted by the chef who I assume is also the owner. He has a welcoming charm and is very attentive. Upon reviewing the menu, I found it simply wonderful. I didn't know what item I wanted they all sounded great. I decided to throw it all on black with the special menu option chefs choice. And I have to say it was the best decision I made. While sitting at the table I watched the chefs gear turn as a welcome challenge was presented to him. He presented me with a dish I was left speechless with. Upon setting it in front of me he told me I just made cafe Erin history as the fourth person to ever of had this dish. Eating with my eyes first I was met with awe, a lovely golden fried goat cheese log, on a creamy green sauce. Paired with a grilled summer squash and zucchini on a buttery sauce with two of the fluffiest poached eggs I've ever had. The yolk was salty and creamy pairing well with the veggies and butter sauce while the savory explosion from the goat cheese log complimented every other bite. Can't recommend this hidden gem enough.

My husband and I had the best food and experience here after church this past Sunday!! Too start, the owner Richard, his chef Shawn and the chefs wife Wendy who was our server were the absolute nicest, accommodating, professional staff they could be! Before we even ate, I was already glad we came! Richard, being from Dublin, cooks authentic Irish meals I couldn’t replicate if I tried! We were there for breakfast but he gave me a sample of his family’s Coddle recipe ( let’s call that Irish stew)- and is was so tasty we took a quart of it home ! My breakfast was wonderful - not greasy like some breakfast places. I ordered scrambled eggs with honey infused in, that came with a side of corn relish which was very tasty - probably not something I would have thought of either. My husband had grits with shrimp - and now he’s asking me how hard it is to make grits, lol. We plan to go back for a dinner! Friday nights they have a fish fry which we will definitely make a trip for- in person for sure!! The homeyness and care these people took made it all the better! Please go support this restaurant! ❤️

I enjoyed a lunch here with girlfriends. Rich Baker was extremely accommodating. I had his chicken special for the day. It was delicious and priced fairly. We never felt rushed and enjoyed a relaxing lunch. He told us that he would make sure there were options that would fit any of our dietary requirements with just a phone call ahead. I will definitely go back to have his fish fry knowing he uses a similar recipe as Crabby Dans! Great job Rich!

Great! Very good place for people with celiac disease. I always give a heads up before placing pick up orders, I think they go out of their way to be safe with gf orders, etc. I wouldn’t expect to stop by and be ok, but maybe? After several orders I have not once had even contamination symptoms 🙌 I especially enjoy toasties like I’m used to in IRL although sometimes it’s not toasted which I miss. I’m very happy to have this legit IRL place in my backyard, especially as a celiac!! The toasties, fish fries, etc, are great and I appreciate the option ☘️ Slainte!!

Tiny cozy place. The family running it are very pleasant. I'm not sure how often it happens but there were a violinist and accordionist there to play and it was an absolutely wonderful surprise. Mostly classic breakfast/brunch fare, with a couple of Irish additions such as black sausage, meat pies and Irish stew. Side note: If you don't like the Bills and their fans this place probably isn't for you 😅

Charming and family-owned, Caifé Erin is just getting started as cozy and affordable spot to gather with friends and family. One of the few places offing a full Irish breakfast in the Rochester area (perhaps the only place?). I enjoyed chatting up Rich and Addie as well. Excited to go back!

Went on a Friday night for fish fry, tried calling ahead for preorder, as recommended, and no one answered. Went to restaurant to place takeout order and they were out of fish. Got the Hawaiian burger instead (I understand it's busy for a Friday night), however the grilled pineapple was not grilled and taken straight out of a can, and the burger was dark on the outside and actually completely raw on the inside (all 3 burgers we got were raw). Hoping to try again, but until then only 1 star.

For two events the owner ran out of food. One was for an event with the local fire department (I was persobally involved with) and the other with a local horse barn, both for non-profit events where headcounts were known well in advance. For the most recent one (winter of 2026), 13 people (my wife and I being two of them) paid $35 each in advance and did not get meals because he ran out of food. There was no offers made for compensation nor substitute of other dinners. You can not treat local residents like this and expect to stay in business!

So happy to have a local place in town again and the place looks great and we love the owner. But we have tried it twice for breakfast and been very disappointed but times. Had two different kinds of eggs and both times overcooked. The potatos needed some kind of seasoning and more butter and the toast was barely toasted on one side. The service was great though. I really want this place to work out so my fingers are crossed that breakfast improves.

J
Joanne Huffsmith

Took over an hour to get food. 2 cloud pancakes that were tiny and over priced and tasted terrible. Toast not toasted. Sausage under cooked. Took over 30 minutes just to place order. Would not eat there again.
