Coyote Maya Mérida Reviews
The best service, very polite and accommodating. Thursday night has romantic guitar music , Andre’s my waiter was excellent, friendly , I love merida
Miguel was amazing, very funny and looked after us very nicely. Would definitely recommend Coyote Maya and please ask for Miguel. We ate like kings 😀
We came here for dinner one night just as a guitarist took their seat on stage to play some gentle live music. I ordered a pork dish which was a bit dry but worked well on a tortilla with some of their salsa. With the open air atmosphere and the music, it was a great meal and a great experience.
We had a great supper here. I had tho cochinita and it and the sides were awesome. We also had the tamarind chicken which was good quality but a bit boring
We came here on a Tuesday night late to have a drink. The staff greeted us with up arms with no pressure and we left that night only having a few drinks. But we left feeling like we made new friends. We came back the following night for dinner and alls I can say is WOW!!!! The food was unbelievably delicious 🤤 the best food I’ve ever had in Mérida!!! This restaurant is a must visit!!!! You will leave feeling like family. I highly recommend Coyote Maya and Miguel the manager to all my friends and family and fellow travelers.
My husband and came to this place on three different occasions. We so loved it. The food was so delicious. The wait staff was so kind. We definitely recommend this place. We had asked our waiter on what cenotes to go visit. He went out of his way to go get someone to book a tour. We will definitely be coming back to this place the next time we return to Merida.

The Cochinita Pibil is absolutely amazing. Everything from food to service was excellent. There was also live singing. It was an amazing experience.

After four visits to this restaurant, this is my review. The staff is very friendly. Really good drinks and desserts. However the food can be really good sometimes and so, so other times. Make sure to spray yourself for mosquitoes.
We went there with another couple and ate in their courtyard. The staff was wonderful and we were never wanting for anything. Their food was good, the cochinita pabil was good, but not the best t…
You would be forgiven for walking passed this restaurant, we found it on an evening when there was lots of entertainment in the main square. It is set back from the road and very near to the center…

Papaya was awesome, sweet and fresh, and overall generic breakfast was just as we ordered. Patio is attractive and service was better than average Merida service. Sister restaurant, Casa Maya 2, …
Excellent service and ambiance. Good food, but for the love of god, avoid the deserts. Gelatinous and firm “cheesecake”, and hard “flan”. They were both left untouched after one bite. Will go back, no deserts.
The restaurant is located right across from the cathedral, so you have to expect high prices. It’s a tourist restaurant where you will pay three or four times the price for food that is better elsewhere. Probably best avoided. The atmosphere is nice, and you really can’t compare the location.

OK place re atmosphere (3-4)but not a good value for money (2). Live music in patio was a single male singer with a guitar, but a bit too loud and unpleasant (2). So better inside. Had the queso relleno, which was too salty (1). The (expensive) mojito was made with lime juice (?? Zero star for that!) The margarita replacement was good though. To be fair, mojito was not added to the bill when I complained.
The food was salty, service was inattentive (I had to ask several times just to get water) and I was overcharged for an item as well. there was also a fall down - literally, drunk that just let walk around the dining area, bumping into tables, people and finally, after breaking some of the artwork and letting him just sit on the floor in the middle of the entrance for a few minutes, they pulled him out of the place. not a great dining experience.
Don’t bother with this place if you don’t speak Mexican Spanish. My wife and I stopped in for drinks. Everything was fine until my wife asked for the check. The waiter became extremely rude and pro…
We order 4 fish tacos, menu price was $246, billed $296. One coke and 7 up 44 each. Total bill $396. Pesos. US$ 23. What we got 4 shrimp tacos on soggy tortilla, it was precook shrimp without any marinade, a total of 4 shrimp cut into 4 pieces on each shrimp with some lettuce, a bowl sauce and tasteless salsa. The people who gave this place a good review must have a terrible palate. Street food is far superior, this is the worst I’ve had anywhere in the world.
