Tokyo Shushi Mérida Reviews
The dishes were delicious; the sushi surprised me with its freshness, and the yakisoba was excellent. We ordered two sushi rolls and an order of edamame to go. The staff very kindly told us they didn't have enough rice for both rolls, so we swapped one of the rolls for the yakisoba, and it didn't disappoint.
After many days of Mexican/local food during the trip, I was thrilled to visit this restaurant. The chef prepared the food freshly. The taste was simply amazing with proper portion!
Went for dinner and it was best ramen I have yet to have in Merida and sushi were great for the price and sizes of portions !
This is my fourth visit. Each time has been a great experience; the food is delicious, and you can tell they know how to cook their concept. The dishes taste like they're made with love, and the prices are reasonable. My favorite maki is the Futomaki (low-carb), and the red fruit Calpis is always amazing.
Small, not much atmosphere, but the miso soup, tuna roll and edamame were plentiful, fresh and tasty. First rate, personable service. They don't get real crab rolls, but it seems no one in Yucatan does.
Very kind owners/staff, lots of intriguing and tasty maki options. The banana roll was a highlight.
The best! I think it's by far the best place I've tried sushi so far in this region of Yucatán. The prices are in line with what they sell. We spent a reasonable amount to eat and feel full for two. The quality of the ingredients is evident, as they are very fresh and delicious. I will definitely return! And I highly recommend it.
Don't miss this gem, it really doesn't look like much from the outside but they have a lot of meal choice and all is absolutely succulent. I recommend the Gohan especial, Tonkatsu and Mar y Tierra sushis. My only remark is that I would wish they had more drinks (bebidas) options !
THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB!!!! It’s super small so we drove past it a few times before seeing it 😅 but I’m SO GLAD we found it. We are from America so we couldn’t understand the menu but Juliana just said “describe what you want and we’ll make it for you!” We ordered a shaggy dog roll. It was their first time making it and it was perfect!! Just like we had it back home. We also got ramen and some lo mein. It was made right then and was piping hot. Tasted so delicious and we will def be a repeat customer!
It's a small place where you can eat inside or at a couple of tables outside. The food is good, they use fresh ingredients, and the dishes are well prepared. Three of us had an anniversary special: three rolls for $299, plus two cones and a spicy salmon donut. We also had two delicious strawberry sodas. We paid a total of $720 before tip. The reason it doesn't get five stars is that the service is very slow. This could be because they're short-staffed in the kitchen and have a lot of orders (delivery orders, since we were the only ones there), or the preparation process is slow. The service was good; the person was very friendly and attentive. However, there were things we should have requested, like separate bowls for the soy sauce. There were three of us, and she only brought two. 🤦🏻♀️ And something I have to mention is that this is the first place I've ever been refused service with scallions. She told me that what I ordered already had them. I told her I wanted extra, and she brought my udon with "extra scallions," but I add scallions to my soy sauce. Anyway, I didn't even bother asking if they had ginger. The point is, she never understood why I wanted an extra plate of scallions. I even told her I understood if it was an extra charge. Strange things happen. Regarding parking, you can park around the corner. That street is two-way, wide, and you can park there. Recommendation: The fesonada is delicious; the cup is large and costs $45.
Cons: Very slow service, no atmosphere, most items on the menu were not available. Food was ok, nothing special. Pro: keto noodles available
Not a fan. Didn't like any of the food. Service was good. But will not be returning.
Came in last night over one hour before closing and the staff was so rude, rolled their eyes at us. Refused to give a physical menu. I told the waiter I didn’t bring my phone so I couldn’t use the QR code and he slammed his phone on the table for me to use. The staff from the kitchen window gave us dirty looks and stares. We just got up and left. Clearly they don’t want to serve customers even when we come in an hour before they close. I hope the owner knows the staff gets mad when having to serve customers and do their job. Btw we came in so late because we were traveling all day and just got in to town and we were starving :(
