Cantina and restaurant on a busy downtown corner, south of zocalo, west of main market, and 1 block north of San Juan Park. It has been here for many years, but occasionally closed for indefinate periods of time. Open, bright, airy, interior, with 25+ tables setting around 75-80 patrons. Usual selection of domestic beers and full bar and a good selection of mixed drinks, shots. Music subdued, making it a good place to go and converse with friends. Good service, everyone friendly. Great place for a cold beer on a hot afternoon. Wheelchair accessable in main room, but restrooms are a challenge because of steps. Botanas rather limited. More emphasis on patrons ordering menu items. Obviously LGBT friendly. Ñ

Fantastic evening in a FONDA with a pure Mexican character… simple but excellent food… beer cold to the point… tequila don Julio reposado that goes down without harming… eeee dolce sin fundo a modern jukebox in which to insert 5 pesos and voilá the Mexican sound fills the air… highly recommended for a typically national experience.

A bar with a jukebox. You could choose the music for 5 pesos, and when I told the guy, he played a popular song of his choice. Tequila and beer were reasonably priced, and the guy came to check on me after I'd finished my tequila, so it was a lot of fun. And a decent tip, too.

Excellent atmosphere, good place to have some cold ones at a good price.

Right in the city center, with this heat, it's a great place to stop and cool off with a beer or michelada.

It's truly different, the location is conveniently close to the center of the Merida market, good prices and friendly service, plus the food is very tasty, I highly recommend it 👍👌.

Quick stop off for a beer and snacks! Revised - we went back for cochinita! 🤩🤩🤩 omg so good. Definitely stop here for a Sunday night snack!

Wow! I'm amazed! The place is great, even more so if they let you play some songs. The sound is really loud, but why not? I can shout too. I didn't give it 5 stars just because of the reviews. It's not a fancy place, it's almost like a dive bar. But that's why I came, haha. Cheers!

Good service, good food, snacks, and good attention, although the music is very loud; they should consider turning it down so we can talk more comfortably ✌🏼

Small, popular bar/restaurant. Perfect for cheap beers and food. Their Poc Chukchi is pretty good and the atmosphere with the jukebox is typical.

One of the better and friendlier cantinas in the immediate area. Comfortable for mixed groups. Some Spanish probably needed.

Food so-so, small portion.

The best thing about it is the price. Poor quality and very loud music.

DON'T ORDER FISH 🐟 They sold me a fried fish, and it had a bad smell and taste. I didn't eat it. When I asked about the freshness of the food, they said the fish had arrived yesterday and had been frozen the whole time. But the smell didn't reflect that. You could get sick.

Very small portions for the price, lacks seasoning and doesn't specify quantities on the menu, the service was somewhat acceptable.

I suffered discrimination from the owner for wanting me to use the men's bathroom. He insulted me. It was a terrible place. I don't recommend it. I went there to consume, not to beg for food or drinks.
