Barracuda Miami Reviews
One of the best experiences in Brussels! The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the pizza — even the simple Margherita was incredible, especially with the stracciatella on top. Then came the steak, which was perfectly cooked, followed by the pasta… honestly, no words can explain how amazing it was. On top of the food, the waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He guided us through the menu, helped us choose the right dishes, and made the whole experience even better with his kindness and professionalism. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!
This place is ideal for a date. The atmosphere, from decor to lighting, makes for an elegant and intimate experience. Often places like these don't match the vibe with good food but in this case they did. Simple dishes, well executed. You can tell the steak was well seasoned before it hit the pan, because the juice was so full of flavour. The pasta was perfectly all dente. The wine cart has a good variety of choices by the glass, and cocktails are inspired. Lastly, the service was very attentive. The waiter gave me a tablehook for my purse, and was just the right amount of present throughout the evening. Some points that could still be improved - though did not affect the experience: waiting time for main dish took on the longer side, the cook used a bit too much salt, especially on the potatoes. (Still better than too little salt, and for the steak it actually worked well), and the cocktail though great in taste, was a bit shifted (generally due to under-shaking or temperature mismatch) Regardless, we had a wonderful evening, highly recommend!
From the moment we entered, the restaurant exuded warmth and sophistication. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, and each dish arrived like a work of art—fresh, nuanced, and perfectly balanced. The meal felt both indulgent and memorable. This is more than dining; it’s an experience to savor.Thank you
It is a fantastic restaurant with Italian cuisine. The food is very delicious and beautiful. The decoration of the restaurant is nice and relaxing. The service is good.
Having dined at Barracuda four times—for both lunch and dinner—it's clearly one of the city's finest Italian restaurants. They consistently deliver tasty dishes made with top-tier ingredients. Add in a lovely atmosphere and super kind, attentive staff, and you have an absolute must-visit.
Outstanding! What a restaurant. Food: great and very tasteful what a choice, also great pizza and pasta! Service: you feel really welcome, fabulous. atmosphere: very cosy atmosphere
I’ve been to this restaurant several times and it impresses me every single time. The interior is meticulously designed — truly one of the most beautiful and refined places I’ve ever visited: elegant, distinctive, with an atmosphere that welcomes you the moment you walk in. The service is excellent: the waiters speak Italian, they’re kind, attentive, and always helpful without being intrusive. The food is very good, authentically Italian. The cacio e pepe pasta is exceptional — creamy, flavorful, and made exactly as it should be. This is a restaurant I highly recommend and one I will definitely return to. You absolutely need to book ahead because it’s in high demand — and rightfully so. On top of that, every time I leave, I’m left with a genuinely pleasant feeling: not just of having eaten well, but of having had a complete, well-curated, enjoyable experience. It’s one of those places you return to gladly, and where you know you’ll make a great impression if you bring someone along.
I made a reservation on their website (bigmammagroup...), but when I arrived at the Italian restaurant, they couldn’t find it. It wasn’t a big issue since we only waited about 10–15 minutes. However, I noticed other customers also had their reservations lost and ended up waiting 20–25 minutes. The restaurant has very nice decoration, and the food is average, but it’s definitely worth trying at least once. The service at the table was good, much better than the two ladies at the entrance, who seemed untrained. It seems their reservation system doesn’t work properly. I would give them 5 stars because the food isn’t bad and the service itself is good. The only downside is the noise level, it’s so loud that it’s hard to hear the person sitting across from you. Paid parking is available at "Place Flagey."
We had a lovely overall dining experience at Barracuda recently for lunch. To start with, the interior of the trattoria is stunning in art-deco style, a mix between fun, casual chic and kitsch. When we arrived, the restaurant was quite full on a Monday and after a short wait, we were welcomed with a smile by the friendly host, who guided us to our table. We were served by Enola, and what a delightful person she was. She was super friendly and professional, we felt that she genuinely cared. She was very insightful, giving us information on Big Mamma’s concept and was very knowledgeable on the products offered on the menu. Service that followed was super efficient and always with a smile, we never had to wait too long for anything, which is fantastic for a lunch service as we had limited time. The food was delicious, and above all fresh, served beautifully with some wow effects. Knowing Big Mamma’s concept and where/how the ingredients are sourced from and made, we felt it was a fair price-quality ratio, especially for Brussels where many places are overpriced without the level of service and product quality to back it up. The ambiance was lively yet enlightening with the right mix of clientele. The background music was not intrusive, we did not have to scream at each other despite the restaurant being buzzy and the music added to the volume. Overall and for Brussels standard of this kind of concept, Barracuda delivered and met our expectations. We’ll certainly be back and will recommend it to anyone we know.
One of the coolest place to enjoy italian food and similar dishes. From burrata to carpaccio thru a good Tbone. Didnt try pasta but it s handmade for sure
Really lovely ambience. We did have to wait for a table even though we had a reservation, but once seated upstairs in a private booth, it was worth it - cozy and much better than the ground floor, which felt a bit cramped. The food was excellent: the truffle pasta was great, served with the cheese wheel (tableside), and the tiramisu was easily one of the best I have had. The cheese wheel was such a fun experience and definitely a must-try - but note, it’s only meant for 2 or more people, not available for one. Only downside: there is a ~€1 fee if you pay through the QR code on the table - a bit odd, but just a heads-up. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would happily come back!
Having dined here multiple times and being served by the nicest waiters, I highly recommend Barracuda! The energy of this place is buzzing, and the food is always a hit complemented by creative and delicious drinks. Will keep coming back for sure!❤️🔥
Top food! Very delicious, friendly staff and great service. Place is quite big, atmosphere is nice.
Pictures online do not do its justice… once you walk in ambience is amazing, we ordered our drinks with our server (Daniela) (who also was fully Italian) and before she even took the full order the drinks were at the table. If you order one course it’s ready in max 10 min. We decided to order 3 so we took our time. Drinks were good. Food was good. Service was amazing. I recommend doing the truffle pasta in the cheese wheel (table-side) it’s an experience. They even sing if there’s a birthday! Daniela really made the meal great!
Good one of the big mamma group! All dishes we ordered were delicious and full of flavour. The pork was very juicy, the pasta filled with melting blue cheese and the little salad very refreshing. The interior is busy but charming. It’s quite loud. Could be a good place for date but also friend gathering, not for business dinners. Good price quality! We got in without reservation on a Friday night, there are many tables. I also liked that you can just pay through the QR code in your table, very efficient
I visited Barracuda last week with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner. We absolutely loved it. The vibe, the looks, the staff & the food. Everything was great! In the past we have visited the Pink Mamma restaurant in Paris and two of the other Pink Mamma group restaurants in London. But this was in Brussels was the best so far. 10/10 would recommend and can't wait to go back!
Amazing Italian food with outstanding service. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared, and the staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish — highly recommended.
I went now 4 times (3 times lunch and 1 time dinner) and always had a tremendous experience. Reservation is a must have, for good Italian food. The Negroni tasting was fun - the classic was our preference after all, but a fun way to start the evening. Appetizer: I had the ham (8.5/10) and the focaccia (9/10 - despite being pizza dough) a couple of times now. The pizzas have a very thin crust, which I personally love and a good balance of sauce vs toppings. (8.7/10) Pasta with ragout (8/10) and truffel (8/10) were also good, and I would recommend. I will go back in the future, a nice addition to the Flagey area
I had an amazing lunch at this restaurant! The location is absolutely stunning, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even more special. The highlight of the meal was the pasta with truffle – it was nothing short of perfection. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional food and outstanding service!
Well they’re packing people into this place and the queue outside at 6:30pm is testimony to the popularity of this out-of-the-ordinary Italian. Once inside the sumptuous, very ambient decor and superb lighting you are transported to another era. Food was a fab, modern take on Italian classics. Great cocktails, very efficient and professional service, but with a place this popular there’s no time to kick back and relax after dinner… 2nd, 3rd service means you eat and leave. Still, it’s a small price to pay for such a fab dining experience. Wonderful !!
This restaurant easily has one of the most stunning interiors in Brussels—spacious, elegant, and impeccably clean, with plenty of seating. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date but also works well for family dinners or group gatherings. I’ve visited their locations in Paris and Lille, but this one outshines them both! Service was a bit mixed—some staff were warm and welcoming, while others seemed distracted. That said, the wait for food was reasonable, portions were generous for the price, and the truffle pasta was absolutely divine—a must-try! Overall, a fantastic dining experience with a few minor hiccups. Highly recommend!
Loved the food! We went on Saturday night—the atmosphere was very festive and everyone was really kind 😊 The food came out pretty fast too, which was a big plus. Only problem : to go and get our car from the parking was a little bit adventurous as there were people sleeping in front of the entrance
Fantastic Service from Enola! Food was delicious, we had the burrata as a starter served with bread. Mains we had the Ragu pasta and Pizza. Dessert we shared the Tiramisu and it was a huge portion served at the table straight from the tray. £76 for two people, this also included 3 beers and a coke. Excellent value for money! I would highly recommend!!
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Warmly welcomed with a dedicated server, we enjoyed exceptional service throughout the evening. Our meal began with a delicious selection of Italian starters, followed by pasta with truffle, prepared in a cheese wheel right at our table—complete with a fresh truffle shaving demonstration. A cocktail expert also crafted gin and tonics tableside, adding a memorable touch. The decor was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Though it can get a bit noisy, it’s absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended—4.9/5!
This restaurant had been on my list since it opened! I was in the area and luckily managed to get a table for an hour and a half without a reservation, thanks to the super lovely staff. The decor is beautiful! It really gives that cozy, away-from-home vibe. ✨ My friend and I both ordered the truffle pasta, and it was so good. The pasta is freshly made, and the portions are super generous. We then went for the tiramisu, and wow… just delicious. It’s freshly made, and they even serve it straight from the bowl at your table. The staff was so kind, the food was amazing! So no doubt, I’m coming back! 🤍
We came for the second service and it did not disappoint. We were seated upstairs and the service was very friendly and fast. There is a lot of noise in the restaurant, so at certain times it might be difficult to understand each other. The food was amazing and fresh, portions were more than enough and it is a good price considering the quality and quantity. And again, great service!
One of the best Truffle pasta plates I have eaten plus the type of pasta they are using and yes it's for 1 person the plate I took, we have shared it between 2 I didn't want it to finish it was really tasty, I loved with cheese on top and without. The food came very fast we ordered the first minute and the second one they brought them same goes for the drinks.
The food was really good. The truffle pasta was my favourite, the parmesan on top made the flavours come together perfectly. The place itself is beautiful and the decoration really adds to the vibe. Even though we had a reservation, there was still a line outside and we had to wait a few minutes before having a seat. It is quite busy and noisy though and the tables are pretty close to each other so it’s not the ideal spot for a long, quiet conversation. But overall great food in a lovely setting
A feast for the eyes, if not the palate... From the moment you walk in, you're immersed in an extravagant, almost theatrical setting—think lavish chandeliers, intricate wallpaper, and curated vintage touches at every corner. It’s a visual playground that feels designed for Instagram, and it works. Every detail, down to the ornate plates and Moor's head vases, is photo-ready. One of the highlights is the open kitchen. Watching the chefs at work adds a layer of authenticity to the experience. Service here is flawless. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely welcoming. You’re made to feel special from the first greeting to the final pour of limoncello. As for the food—while beautifully presented—the pasta didn’t quite live up to the ambiance. It was good, certainly, but not memorable. The sauces lacked that extra depth or boldness you might expect from a place with such a strong visual identity. In short: come for the atmosphere, stay for the service, and lower your expectations just slightly when it comes to the pasta. It’s a perfect spot for a celebratory dinner or a stylish night out, even if it won’t redefine Italian cuisine for you.
As already mentioned by the many (many) reviewers, the atmosphere of Barracuda is extraordinary, as in all the Big Mamma group restaurants. What I found a little less impressive, however, was the service. Now, that might be because this location is still fairly new but, with the exception of one waiter who was a true professional, the other members of the staff seemed to fall short in terms of training and skills. The drinks and food were good, although perhaps a little flat. The overall experience was pleasant, just not memorable.
LOCATION this trendy restaurant is located in the beautiful Flagey square: large, spacious, beautiful in the details. The main view, however, is on the street: here is the room on the ground floor. It is the most beautiful room. On the first floor, there is a room that is a bit « uncomfortable »: in front of the kitchen and small tables. My small table « wobbled » :-( SERVICE. The service is the restaurant's strong point: from the moment you enter, perfect service; fast service, warm welcome. The guys and girls in the dining room are exceptional. There are many tables and they are always active. FOOD. The menu has few but selected offers. The appetizers are good but nothing special. I had the pasta with truffles served in a pot: compared to Italian tastes, not much salt. Overall the food was good but I would not come to this restaurant again for the food but more for the location. The only exception: the tiramisu, served directly from the tray, is simply perfect!!! PRICE. Prices are high compared to the average but the service and the location justify it in part DOGS ALLOWED!
We either got really unlucky with the food, or the mains are not on the same level as entrees and desserts. So, I can recommend the burrata pomodoro and the tiramisu, the quality was amazing! But that’s where the positives about the food end. The 22€ truffle pasta was a disappointment: overcooked for my taste (not al dente at all), sauce’s flavor was very strong and in my view misbalanced with the amount of pasta. On top of that, the pasta arrived warm at best, and was cold in a few minutes, which made the taste even worse. The 18€ jambon champignon pizza, I give it 1*- simply I could not make myself eat more than 2 slices. It’s 2x bigger than the plate so impossible to cut it in civilized manner. The dough: thin, burned, taste is bland - imbalanced with the good quality toppings. The lemon tarte, despite very impressive on the eye, has the same issue as the pasta and the pizza: no balance of flavors at all. I would have preferred less meringue, to being strangled by its sweetness with very little lemon flavor to balance it. So, despite the efforts of the servers, and the beautiful setting, I do not see myself returning any time soon - for this price point, the food is just not there.
The service was splendid and fast. They were also super friendly, but perhaps we had higher expectations of the food. Honestly, nothing to write about. It's a shame. It wasn't bad, but the foos it wasn't as good as we expected but giving a 4 because of the service and the place it's lovely.
After seeing this place everywhere, I finally tried it and it didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service was excellent polite, attentive, and welcoming. The Food • Starter: Fresh and flavorful, with a delicious bun. • Main Course: The truffle pasta was tasty, though I wished for a stronger truffle flavor. • Dessert: The chocolate mousse was a perfect 10/10, but my friends weren’t impressed with their pies / except for the lemon one, which was generous and delicious. Portions were quite big, making it great for those who love hearty meals. Final Thoughts A solid spot for a special occasion. While not an everyday place, I’d definitely recommend trying it! Rating: 8/10
Barracuda is definitely one of the hype places in Brussels – getting a table isn’t easy, especially on weekend evenings. We were lucky to go for lunch, and it was a nice experience. The atmosphere is fantastic, with stylish design and that kind of setting where you just want to take photos. The food was tasty, but nothing exceptional. Service was good. I’d probably come back more for the vibe than the food – a great place to enjoy the scene and hang out
Very aesthetic place, the ambiance is romantic and very pleasant 🍝 The food was good but not exceptional, what really made the experience nice is actually the place ✨ The portions are good except for the desserts that were smaller. They serve baguette with balsamique (but you have to ask for it!) 🥖 The prices are good. The waiters are very friendly and respectful. Note: you can’t modify anything in the dishes. Overall good experience 4/10 🤌🏼
We ordered starters like stracietella, carpaccio, proscuitto and ricotta/courgette. Straciatella and carpaccio were delicious. For main pasta with the truffe and ragu were also very good. From deserts 5 stars to tiramisu but tarte citron is too sweet at meringue level. We did a bit of stomach problems after not sure if we ate too much but worth mentioning.
The truffle pasta was the cherry on top, I recommend to ask for a cheese wheel. I tried fragolata for drinks but it was just okay. Their killer colada and croquettes are amazing! Unfortunately not so pleased with their service this time as a server on the second floor was kinda rude and keep reminding us about the time.
I expected to have a good experience here - much like the experience I had in Paris. But unfortunately - bit into these 2 small rocky bits (see picture) which could have broken a tooth or two 🦷 from a starter with pistachios. Normally I would give 1 star - but staff are friendly enough (got discount) and food overall good. Went there for lunch on Saturday (reserved table) - waited very long for food to arrive. Very lively place, hard to talk up over the noise - very Hollywood-ish Italian decor. Feels hyped-up in my opinion.
The food was nice, but overpriced. Good mozzarella and fennel salad. I went there on a Sunday lunch and it was very packed. I felt the service was basic, but if I was already not at feeling welcomed, what confirmed it was having to pay using a qr code on the table and being charged 1 extra euro for it...
I’ve been here quite a few times, so I was honestly surprised by my visit about a week ago ...it was the first time it felt like things really slipped. First, the good stuff...the hostess is particularly good, shes always super nice and genuinely warm. In general the team is friendly, and the place has a nice vibe and décor. But this time, a few things were off in a way that’s hard to ignore. Food is usually better than this. The pizza was pretty mediocre, not awful, just… meh, and not what I’ve come to expect here. We ordered the "some like it hot", which has nduja, and even with this.. was pretty tasteless. For dessert we´ve got the "Pere e mele al forno" and it came cold and also bland, like it had been sitting too long. And for entree which we always love, we´ve got the “tower” and it didn’t come with the usual brioche, which sounds like a small detail, but it’s part of what makes that dish work. Without it, it felt incomplete. The men’s bathroom was dirty, and the soap and cream dispensers weren’t working. The women’s bathroom was also dirty, and there was no toilet paper. There was also a white plastic heater leaning against a wall in the dining area. Even if it’s necessary, it looked pretty bad and took away from the otherwise nice setting. I’m sharing this because I actually like this restaurant and have had several good meals here. I think they normally set the bar for a great restaurant in Brussels, but this time was not what I come to expect... I really hope this was just an off night but I’d love to see them taking care of the details .
I’ve been to Barracuda several times since its opening, and it has been one of my favourite places. The décor is beautiful, the atmosphere festive, and the food simple but good. I’ve had many lovely evenings there with family and friends, and have even introduced it to groups of colleagues. That’s why my recent experience was so disappointing. I contacted the restaurant a month in advance to book a table for 8 people at 7 PM for my birthday. I was told via WhatsApp that they couldn’t accommodate a group of that size at that time because it might affect the evening’s two services. The alternatives offered were a 6 PM reservation, or two separate tables at 7 PM without any guarantee they would be near each other, as seating is “automatically assigned by the system.” I explained that 6 PM was too early but that we would be coming with kids and would certainly be finished by 9 PM. Even so, the answer remained no. The rigidity and lack of flexibility were surprising, especially from an Italian restaurant, where warmth and hospitality are usually such important values. I do understand that Barracuda is often full and that they need to have rules, but the lack of customer understanding and rigidity shown in this situation were really disappointing. I’ve loved this place for a long time, but this experience honestly made me reconsider it.
With more 2K reviewers pushing this place to 4.7/5 It will be difficult for me to share my experience for dining here tonight. I believe the management needs to make a thorough review of their service level and operational capacity. Three dishes were mot available despite it is available on the menu. Our order came in two portions which made half the table just waiting for their food to arrive, while we waited as well. The result is a cold food experience. The waiter was friendly and nice. Apologized for the delay and the missing order. But it will be what it will be.
Wait 15 minutes under heavy rain despite we had a reservation. Entrance is packed and chaotic. Food was dull, risotto undercooked and salty. I am giving 3 stars only for the nice service and the general atmosphere once sat at the table
A beautiful venue with excellent decor—unfortunately, that’s the main highlight of this place. We’ve visited Big Mamma Group restaurants in Paris, London, and Lille, but this one falls below expectations. The pizza, advertised as Neapolitan, sadly does not live up to the name. It was thin and lacked the characteristic texture and flavor. The pasta was completely bland, which was surprising because we had the same dish in Lille, and it tasted entirely different. The inconsistency is disappointing and makes this location feel far removed from the high standards set by other Big Mamma Group’s restaurants. Overall, a huge culinary disappointment. The atmosphere is lovely, but if you’re looking for great Italian food, this is not the place to find it.
- Nice, beautiful restaurant with a good atmosphere. - Service was also good, no remarks. - But we had mixed feelings about the food. The appetizers were good, nothing extraordinary, but tasted good enough. The main courses pasta with truffle and pizza was something totally different. The pasta was al dente, taste of sauce was good, but the food temperature was between cold and medium. Same for the pizza. I never received a pasta and pizza this cold in a restaurant. The pizzas delivered to my house are much hotter. - Desserts were good, no remarks. In general price, portion and quality was ok, but cold main dishes 👀. Maybe would visit again and give it another chance maybe not.
So we usually like barracuda but 1. They overbooked their restaurant today so even with a reservation we were waiting 30 minutes. It’s a good restaurant but it’s not wait 30 min in the cold good. I’m sorry but it’s not. 2. The head waiter … Now here’s the thing, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so that’s what I’m trying to do here considering that it was an exceptionally busy evening. He was tolerant of us at best. His manner did leave a LOT to be desired. He wasn’t sophisticated snobby, he was judt a bit of a grinch. At one point we were served starters and suddenly I heard someone faintly yelling over what was frankly a cacophony of guests “THATS NOT FOR YOU THATS NOT FOR YOU” He then proceeded to snatch the plates from our table and served them to the next. This was highly upsetting for the 8 year old with us whose birthday it was. I don’t know about you but I have never in all my life, not even in humble little holes in the wall, experienced service like that. That man had all the finesse of a honeybadger. But what I will say is that apart from that particular staff member, the other servers we sweet and lovely and friendly. So for their sake there are two stars for service.
Avoid, if possible. Let me start with the waiting time in front of the restaurant, despite having a reservation and that, only to see that tables are not ready because it takes the stuff ridiculously long time to clean them after someone finishes. By the time we finished our lunch (and we spent there about 1.5hrs), at least two other tables in close proximity were left uncleaned. The place is probably understaffed but that is not an excuse for the long wait (even for the bottle, that was taken out of the fridge behind us some 15 min after we ordered it), the forgotten items from our order and the visibly rude service. The food itself was horrible (potatoes were cold, pasta was not seasoned well, the desserts were tasteless and again, one of them that was supposed to be just made was cold, probably forgotten) and even the presentations were nothing special, let alone the taste. At the end of our lunch we all agreed that the best thing we had was the prosecco. I wouldn't recommend going there and dont understand the hype for this place. Again, avoid.
All style; poor performance. Firstly service was excellent and fast as it usually is in the restaurants we have visited. The environment was clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing. The design was fresh and high class (the dress code was mixed). These two strong positives did not translate into the performance of the food or drinks. For a restaurant with such a few options, you would expect these options to be good variety, and then perfected by their chefs. They were not. Food was delivered cold at the edges and warm in the middle. Nothing was hot. The pasta was El Dante as it should be, but they were pushing it a bit close to under-cooked. The lobster pasta was souless; I am the first to appreciate leaving room for the taste of the sea food but this sauce was weak in flavour. This fish was very very over priced for a the small pieces of warm 'lobster', which more closely resembled an artificial synthetic made meat. The Cacio E Pepe was very salty. It often can be, but this was so salty that our dish was left half full as it was too salty; this theme appeared across most other customers' tables. The Loca Colada was a solid cocktail. The tropic old fashioned was pretty poor as it was mostly juice but these things are an acquired taste, so make your own opinions. Can't vouch for the pizzas. I detest leaving negative reviews, but my hand is forced as this was a birthday meal. Sadly, I felt this place is over popularised by looks and social media, not by performance. I also felt it was over priced. I would not return or recommend it.
Beautiful restaurant but the service is a disaster (very very slow). Took 30 minutes to take our first order… and the food was not good at all, very simple. Also it was like 40 degrees inside. But nice restaurant to take pictures haha
I expected more given the hype, but the food was underwhelming. The overall flavor was not impressive and it felt like it needed more seasoning. We also had a reservation but still had to wait in line. That is unacceptable and shows poor organization. Service was okay, not particularly friendly. Being asked for a tip at the end felt strange
I was very surprised that when you order a steak, you only get the steak — no sides, and the waiter didn’t mention this at all. That was quite disappointing. On the positive side: cocktails were 10/10, and the barman deserves the same. Overall experience: 2/5. I won’t be going back, but it might still be the right place for others.
I’ve been to Barracuda twice — once shortly after they opened and again a year later — and both visits were disappointing. The first time, they forgot to bring our wine, yet still charged us for it, along with an extra dish we never ordered. On the second visit, despite having a reservation, we waited 15 minutes to be seated and nearly 40 minutes before our order was taken. One of our dishes — a risotto — was never served, and we were then told the kitchen had closed and we could only choose from three pre-prepared dishes. When we decided to leave, they tried to apologize by bringing tiramisu and limoncello shots, which we refused — but we later saw we had still been charged for several of them. It’s a shame, because the restaurant looks beautiful and we genuinely wanted to enjoy the experience.
we had a quite disappointing experience. service & ambiente: we waited 75 minutes for our food while all the tables around us - where people had arrived after us - were already served. the staff seemed to have messed up the table numbers. that‘s at least what i guess. they did not explain anything. the so called „terrace“ is just the sidewalk of a noisy & dirty street. our table and plates were quite dusty when we sat down. only after we asked him to the waiter wiped it down and brought clean plates. food: the food was alright, albeit nothing to wait for this long a time. there definitely better and tastier ways to spend your saturday evening. bonus point for the service: the waiter offered my husband a glas of wine for free. to me, however, he offered nothing. not even a bottle of water, a coffee or some dessert on the house.
Extremely overrated. Food is below average. You keep eating and eating and you do not want to eat anymore. The vibe and service - cannot complain but if you aim for good food and vibe, try different spots. I booked a table well in advance for a birthday dinner and left quite disappointed.
I had a focaccia, a pizza margarita, and a tiramisu. The focaccia was underwhelming, you could barely taste the oil and basil over the taste of burnt bread. The pizza? Came in lukewarm and became cold within five minutes. The tiramisu was delicious on the other hand, a perfect way to finish my dinner, the one thing it could have improved was having it a bit longer in the fridge but the rest is perfect. The atmosphere is nice and I love the interior design, but unfortunately in terms of waiters who can take your orders, it’s extremely understaffed at least for the top floor where I was. There was only one waiter for every table, so it was very slow. You were served pretty fast and the food tasted good, although I expected a bit better from such a considered high end restaurant.
Impressive location with plenty of people-watching opportunities, right on Flagey Square. The food was average, and while the staff were friendly, they seemed quite stressed throughout the evening. After almost two hours inside, we found ourselves wanting to step outside for some fresh air. A mixed experience overall.
It's a social media hype. Not worth the money. Avoid chains, even if luxurious and well-branded and give benefit to your local independent Italian restaurant instead. You'll enjoy it. We were waiting to take our order for a while and then we waiting to be served our mains for over 25 minutes... Then, we ordered some desserts, and they also took very long. I even saw our waitress sighing when she realised we hadn't been served yet. The food is nothing special for the price. The decoration is the most remarkable aspect of the experience, really. In summary, don't waste your time nor your money...
Food was good, the vibe is on point. The service though was all over the place, dishes arriving at different times, half the table was eating while the other half watching, drinks getting mixed up, dishes were missing, the staff were apologetic, and mistakes happen. But this was a surprising second experience
After securing a reservation at 9pm on Sunday, which was already ridiculous, but this restaurant is highly recommended, I had higher expectations. We arrived at 9pm and there was no one to greet us at the reception. There was a long line of people who apparently didn’t have a reservation ( I had an impression it’s a reservation only restaurant). We carved our way inside just to be greeted by no one again, and we stood in a line again. Finally the waiter came, confirmed our reservation and told us to wait. While continuing to seat people who came after us.Then he said to us and another couple to follow him to our seats. We were cramped at a small table, 3 people. We sat down and we immediately noticed there was no knifes available. The waiter was cold, unpleasant, other tables received their orders much faster. The whole night could be summed up for me as : watching other people eat. I didn’t receive any straw for a cocktail that was difficult to drink without it. Tables next to us got their drinks in a mug with boobs, the kind you can buy in a cheap store for bachelor party… After that I didn’t expect much, I was patiently waiting for the main course that arrived well after 10pm. The portion was ok-ish, but the pasta was undercooked ( far from al dente) and the sauce was not warm enough, but the plate was super hot… It’s definitely not worth coming back. Another overhyped restaurant in Brussels, severely understaffed and with mediocre cuisine. Cherry on top was moldy looking cheese.
No idea what the hype is about with this place, clearly people haven't experienced good food or service before? Feels like a place to be seen at and it's obviously part of a chain. The service was less than average, walked in, clearly spoke English and was given a french menu so we went and grabbed one ourselves. Why ask if you're celebrating a special occasion if you blatantly ignore it? Seems pointless. Food is average at best, I can cook better at home. Avoid this trap.
I had to change my first review which I thought was about the service staff Cassandre while in the restaurant, and she was very good, so professional and warm! But we were so not happy with the food and the rude welcoming staff. We had the fresh pasta in the cheese wheel, which was served very little, the table next to us was served much more. The pizza was much below average. The atmosphere is good for sure, but the food is not good and overpriced. I think the restaurant is relying on the good atmosphere but the demand won’t last long. I am sorry to be harsh, but we really felt cheated when we left.
Baffled that we have to pay a transaction fee in order to pay the bill via the QR code. Service was not good, food portions were small, especially given the high price of most dishes, our table of four people was small and in front of the open kitchen were it was very noisy and the waiters were constantly walking by. The restaurant is beautifully decorated but it's too crowded. Surprised that the front door is locked, isn't it dangerous in case of fire or any other scenario where people would need to leave the restaurant in a hurry?
Unfortunately, there was close to nothing of vegan options on the menu. I would love to be able to be back if the menu offers plant based options. Until then, I will continue to go the best italian in Brussels (Basils) that produces its own vegan cheese. The atmosphere is very cosy and comfortable.
Avoid — Misleading Service and Tasteless Food Very disappointing because of their bad management in the kitchen. The restaurant accepts bookings until 2:30pm. After being given the full dessert menu and placing our order, we were informed the kitchen only offers tiramisu. This is very unprofessional. If the kitchen is unwilling to prepare desserts after a certain time, this should be made clear from the beginning. In addition while pizzas were good, their famous pasta truffle was under-seasoned, with no salt and no flavour. Expect 5 g of lobster for the pasta all’astice, no sign of lemon zest, and the so-called homardine sauce was watery and tasteless. The place is crammed with tables, squeezed together and very noisy. Overall, badly managed and not worth the price. I would not return.
