I visited with a larger group and made a reservation in advance, which I would recommend if you’re going with a big party. That said, they do accept walk-ins and on weekdays it’s not too crowded, making it easier to get a table. The service was very attentive and impressively quick. Our food came out fast without much wait, which is always a plus, especially with a large table. The quality of the ingredients tasted quite fresh and everything was well prepared with good flavor overall. The highlight for me was the Neapolitan milanesa. It’s a huge portion and comes with two sides, so it’s definitely big enough to share. The dishes in general are generous, which makes the slightly higher prices feel reasonable and worth it because the food is quite tasty. Dessert is something you shouldn’t skip. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve tried — creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet. The flan wasn’t my favorite, but that’s just personal preference. Overall, between the attentive service, fresh quality, generous portions, and standout tiramisu, I would definitely visit again.

don’t know why this place has a 4.4 rating — it definitely deserves a 5. We ordered Cuban dishes, and everything was delicious. While waiting (about 15 minutes), they brought us toasted bread with spices, which was a nice touch. The staff was attentive, the interior looked great, and soft music created a cozy atmosphere. I’d gladly come back.

This restaurant is very good, we walked for a mall adventure, and discovered this place. WE went at about 2 p.m. and they offer a lunch menu. Very good service and very attentive waiters.

Delicious food, good service and nice ambience. I ordered the mushroom sauce chicken and it was perfect. Rich and flavorful ! The portion was almost too big and the price is fair. I believe you may even share if you order extra sides. I recommend!

We love this place, we usually pick parrillada. Meat is tasty, soft and delicious. I also enjoy a good glass of sangria, but has plenty of other options. Dessert I pick their regular/caramel flan. Staff is kind and friendly. Atmosphere is nice and make us feel comfortable every time we come.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is delicious, especially the skirt steak and plantains. Raphael is the best! For those complaining about the prices, I am happy to pay for quality food. I would hope that good restaurants will increase their costs as necessary so that they will still be in business when I visit the next time. Great job!

Barrio Latino is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner if you’re craving family-style Latin food. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and the vibe is always welcoming. Some of my favorites are the vaca frita, mixed fajitas, and churrasco brasileño—all packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. Great place to enjoy a hearty, home-style meal with friends or family!

I honestly was surprised by the food cost, after checking the prices of some restaurants in the aventura mall area. A party of four eats really well for the cost of one steak at the mall. The meat was tender, juicy, and delicious! If you do not mind a simpler decoration and maybe a little dated tables, the food is what is important, at least to me. The service was friendly and with good recommendations for the dishes. Luxury can empty your wallet in a heartbeat, so look around before plunging into the abyss of the high rollers. Simple is better, life without complications relax your soul. Give them a chance, maybe your taste would like their food too!

This was amazing. We started off with a plate of empanada, Argentina sausage, fried, yuka and stuffed beef pastry. Then for dinner we had, pulled pork and a seafood medley in creole sauce.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years, and I have never been disappointed, food is always good and quick, something I like the most is that you are able to get different types of cousines under one roof from Argentinian parrilas to Cuban ropa vieja great place to eat, highly recommended.

Born and raised in Miami. Moved to Georgia . When I come back to barrio Latino in aventura brings tears of joy to my eyes . Excellent pechuga de pollo Rice beans plantains. They’ve perfected this dish. I remember when they were in waterways tasted the same . Perfection . Better than any Cuban food in Hialeah , gables, westchester, etc . . .

Barrio Latino is hands-down one of my favorite restaurants on Biscayne. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and authentic — you can really taste the love in every dish. Whether I’m grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal, the service is always friendly and attentive. The menu has great variety, and everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair for the quality you get. It’s got that local, cozy vibe but with the flavor and consistency of a top-tier restaurant. If you’re in the area and craving amazing Latin food, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

First off you wouldn't expect this good of food to come out of a strip mall. All we could say at the end was WOW. Margarita to start was well made and strong. Appatezier was Tamale Vaca Frita and it was top 5 Tamales I've ever had. Entree my wife got Camarones Enchilados which is shrimp in a creole sauce with sweet plantains as her side. I got the Ropa Vieja which is pulled and grilled beef in a tomato sauce with fries for my side since I knew they would be seasoned well. Everything was just crazy good and if we were the kind of people to revist a restaurant on vacation we would go here every day!

We were in town for a convention AND it was my daughter's birthday. The mojitos were delicious. They did NOT skip on the fresh mint leaves. Love the raw sugar cane swizzle sticks. I had the red snapper with wonderfully seasoned rice and fried plantain. My daughter was given a slice of dulce de leche cake. Service great and good atmosphere.

We enjoyed an excellent Cuban lunch at this location. We found it in Google maps. It seems to be a pretty popular place in the Aventura area. There was a steady crowd of well dressed people driving nice cars there. They're menu featured a collection of Latin American meals from Cuba, Brazil and Argentina. I had the Ropa Vieja and my son had a Churassco. Both were well seasoned and properly prepared. I washed mine down with a café con leche that was also properly prepared. Can definitely recommend as a great place to eat Cuban lunch or dinner.

We sat outside as it was quieter and it was the perfect weather for it. Although the sun shone right in our eyes and made us squint and sweat through half the meal. Despite us facing the parking lot, the cars driving past were quiet for the most part. As for the food, everything we had was delicious, with the Argentinian sausage and Fried Yucca fries that came in the Sabor Latino were our absolute favorites. Highly recommend the plantain chips with garlic mono sauce to start your table or complement texture throughout your meal. The garlic bread that comes when you sit down is delicious but you may wanna save your stomach for the rest of the food.

Amazing amazing amazing! Did I say Amazing! Everything we had tasted so fresh and incredible. Very strong and tasty mango margarita. Started with flat bread made with butter and parsley and appetizers- plantain chips with wonderfully flavored sauce. Spinach salad with delicious dressings. Chicken empendas so so good. Heard beef even better. Grilled whole snapper, zarzuela de mariscos all very fresh and so flavorful! That goes for everything! Bkack beans, brown rice and fried plantain very good. Tres leche cake sinful. Finished with espresso. Wish I could have eaten more. Had to carry out a bunch. Can't say enough how great a dining experience we had. Service from everyone very friendly, attentive, fast. Loved our server, Adrien. Highly recommended. Has become a mainstay when in the area. I still do not feel this review did the place justice. Met a family who said they've been coming for 20 years. I can understand why.

We had such a great experience here. The food was amazing from start to finish, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. We came in as a group of six and never once felt rushed, which made it easy to actually enjoy the meal and each other’s company. Happy hour was a fun surprise — the pitchers of sangria were an awesome deal and absolutely delicious. Everything came out at a comfortable pace, and the service matched the vibe perfectly. We’d happily come back again and already have this spot on our repeat list.

After hitting the hotel gym, I had a big appetite and Barrio Latino delivered. The Pollo Champinon was delicious. I paired it with classic Cuban sides (rice, beans, sweet plantains) and had an absolute feast. Loved the food. Ate every bite. And it was not small.

Delicious food with great flavors in a casual setting. Service was friendly and attentive, the portions were large and a great value for the cost. The mojito was very well prepared and complemented the meal perfectly. There are a lot of great options for Cuban food in the area but this is a great option.

Fast food service, they bring nice bread to the table and the food is plenty and pretty tasty. Down side, no fountain drinks, your soda comes in a can, I've never been a fan of restaurants that do that. Also make sure to tip the suggested amount on the receipt, if your off by $1or 2, you will get the stink eye!! That's MY personal experience.

Really good food and service at a decent price. Love this place. Hamburguesa casera is delicious. They have the best flan in South Florida. No comparison.

Although this restaurant is located in a shopping plaza, once you step inside you total forget where it's located! It's one of those hidden in plaine sight locations. The food was tasty and fullfilling. Will definitely be going back.

In on a Monday at 6 for dinner. Not busy. Got drink and bread. Always looking for a really good (tender) skirt steak. Ordered one here ( 16 oz ) cooked medium rare with 2 sides, rice and beans and plantains. $ 47.99 Cooked just right but half way through I had to send it back to be reheated. For the price, it should have been much more tender and lacked flavor. Service was good.

Y

The ambiance is what makes this place stand out. The food was pretty good, we had a Churrasco with white rice, black beans and sweet fried plantains and a Vaca Frita with the same side dishes and it was very tasty, no complaints. Presentation was not great and prices were a bit higher than other places, but you are paying for the location.

Very good location, walkable from the AC hotel. The service was good and fast. Ordered a red sangria which came with fruits in it which was very good. They put Cuban bread with butter on the table as a starter, very tasty. I ordered churrasco medium well with rice and beans and plantains. The churrasco wasn’t as well as I had anticipated but it was very tasty. I would definitely return!

Very good food, meats are cook to perfection and the parrillada mix we ordered was plenty for the 7 of us. They give you bread at the begining. Also we ordered a salad and it was good too. The sangria i ordered was delicious and have different pieces of fruit in it 🍷 Buen lugar para disfrutar una parrillada. Pedimos una mixta y fue suficiente para 7 personas. La sangría que pedí estuvo rica y refrescante. Recomendadisimo!!

A good restaurant with very good service. The six meals order by our table were generally tasty. The beef in the fajitas (mix of beef chicken, shrimp) was quite tough. The traditional sangria was excellent.

This food is AMAZING! The food was seasoned well, drinks were strong, waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations for our preferences. We will definitely come back before our vacation is over. *UPDATE* We definitely went back but and order the same dishes, sat in the same spot but had a different server. Wasn't as attentive and our food was under seasoned and my steak was under cooked but only in the middle. They got me another plate and honestly it was almost the same issue. It may have just been a bad night.

N

Nice, "fairly priced", unassuming but tasty, properly cooked, Latin (LatinX?) menu. I've had the salmon at least 10x (I like salmon! Just a little... And this restaurant. Just a little.), and it's been perfectly cooked to my request (med. rare) EVERY TIME! (And fish is one of the easiest things to screw up.) What are the odds of that? I've been equally happy with other things I've had there. The "waitpersons "(?) are friendly and attentive. They also have outdoor tables. I suppose I should write a negative review,so it doesn't get too busy to get a table, but they've earned my loyalty. "Fairly priced" is relative to today's prices , in which most places have had to raise their prices during our "temporary" inflation. Although their prices are higher than pre covid, I haven't found them to increase any more, proportionately , than my other favorites.

I was looking for some Cuban food in the area, and this place happened to be within walking distance of my hotel. I came by for dinner on a Monday at around 7, and it wasn't too crowded. To start, I had the grilled Argentinian provolone cheese. I knew I wouldn't be able to finish this myself but I wanted to try it anyway. It was perfectly melty, and was nice with the tomato it was topped with, and the toasted garlic butter Cuban bread they give you at the start of the meal. Eat it quick though because once it starts cooling off, the cheese gets hard and it's difficult to eat. For my main, I had the fried pork chunks. It comes with your choice of two sides so I went with the rice and beans, and some broccoli. The pork was served on top of avocado sauce, which I wish they had put on the side. The oil from the pork mixed in with the sauce, making it kind of separated. Some pork chunks were good (the fattier ones), but they were mostly dry. I didn't care for the rice and beans. They do give pretty big portions here though. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing. Looking back, it seems more like an Argentinian restaurant, and they probably just threw a few Cuban items on the menu. If you're looking for Cuban food, this ain't it.

S
Scott Gilman

The food is usually pretty good and the lunch specials are decent. They have great outside seating. You can get a little sun while you're eating. The outside service can be really iffy. I waited 10 minutes, went inside and requested service, and still waited another 10 before anyone came to ask me if I needed anything. Don't go if you are on a schedule.

Family vacation from NJ to Miami. We decided to come by here to taste Cuban food. The food was ok and way too simple. I had the ropa vieja, and it was maybe a 7 out of 10 at its best—very little food. My son has the breaded steak and was so unhappy. He did not like it at all. The chicken quesadilla was not good either. The churrasco was a 7.5 out of 10 per my husbands' taste. The cappuccino was good, and the crepes also. I wouldn’t recommend this for picky authentic eaters, especially if you know your food. The waitress was great!!

I had just done some blood test at a lab close by, so I decided to go for this spot since the Brazilian restaurant near by was closed. I’m from Brasil so I was craving some beef stew with rice and beans, but I was open to other options. The lady at the check out/front desk at first seemed to be nice but than either she was confused or just not trying to assist me. I asked for two orders of the “vaca frita” with one of them, with an extra side which would be mashed potatoes. She explained that rice and beans was only 1 side together but I wanted to make sure both of my orders would come with rice beans separately on the side of each one. Sure enough, I got two sides of mashed potatoes and only one of rice and beans. I didn’t have the energy to say anything just I just got my food and came home to eat it. Food was really good though, but unfortunately it wasn’t what I was trying to order and the lady just seemed too inpatient to try helping me or communicating better. That was my first impression unfortunately.

Cuban food may not be my thing. Food was hot and fresh. Just seemed to lack flavor. Mashed potatoes were good and the kids like their super thin steak.

My family and I have been customers for Barrio Latino for 10+ years and have always look forward to buying their 'parillada' for every special occasion. It wasn't until our New Year's Eve dinner that when my family and I tried your chimichurri sauce it tasted sandy and gritty. Since we were in far from the establishment, we had no choice but to make our own chimichurri sauce. However, we certainly hope that managers are keeping an eye on their kitchen staff when following proper food handling guidelines. Please be better 🙏

We were going around looking for a good Latin restaurant with some good churrasco steak. We love Latin foods. This restaurant has okay atmosphere. The seating was not really comfortable. The service was not bad, but they don’t speak fluent English. The price didn’t match up with the churrasco steak. The meat was tough even though we requested for middle. It was not tender and not juicy. It was a bit dry. The tiramisu was okay. The price is reasonable at the Aventura area, but the foods were not worth it. We will not go back again. We were disappointed. We gave them 4.5 out of 10 😓

P
Pirooz Pakdel

I asked for a Vaca Frita. The only sides they offer as included with a $16 plate are pure carb rich sides like Yuca, rice etc. The Broccoli and Spinach they want extra for! So I ended up paying full price with no sides as I find the extra for vegetables instead of glucose rich sides distasteful. The waiter was also pretty dismissive when i inquired why all the choices are carbs. The food itself was classifiable as fair. It will ne the last time We will come here.

Dear team! Who is responsible for buying wholesale meat, please learn how to choose meat. 🚩Please learn how to distinguish Echinococcus🚩 The most bizarre if it was professional chef, he would never work with this type of ingredients. Your waiter keeps telling us it’s NORMAL, but we just left without eating steak.

We were visiting from out of state and read all of the misleading reviews and went here for dinner. Slow service. Cramped seating. I ordered the Tres Carnas. Steak and short ribs were so undercooked, we didn't even eat them. Spent $40 on my meal and only enjoyed the rice, beans and tostones.

Went to eat early restaurant not busy waitresses all gather to chat while we sat for about 10 min had to ask for help. Table 40 waitress Kathy. We ordered drinks one with ice the second drink with no ice three times told waitress NO ICE PLEASE bring ice in separate glass she returned with the two drinks one was with ice the other we told her three times please no ice but it also had ice when asked she said oh it’s just a few pieces of ice and left drinks and walked away. Then she did not return to take our order for the longest we had to request for her to be called to our table to take our order. This waitress has no business serving people because it seems she is more interested in catching up to the gossip with her co workers vs serving customers. It was a special event celebration my dad is 91yrs old cannot drink cold drinks I had to take the ice out of his drink because Kathy was too busy to pay attention to this most simple request we made THREE TIMES NO ICE IN DRINK WITHOUT LIQUOR. Not a pleasant experience very disappointed yet we left tip and were gracious. My dad was upset he did not eat all his food and asked us to never take him again to your place he did not like the service or the food. An eating experience starts with your customer service and upper management needs to pay attention to how this restaurant provides customer service before it closes sooner than expected.

Great service. Great waiters. The issue is the food is overpriced and the quality isn’t there. We had Churrasco at 29.99 medium well and it didn’t meet our expectations. Pork chops also a bit hard. Black rice was burnt. Fries smell and tasted like burnt oil as well. Again, staff and atmosphere is great. Food is NOT.

Even tho we’ve ordered from this place multiple times before the lady refused to give us plastic utensils. First time I encountered a situation where a woman who works there refused to give me plastic cutlery, she was so greedy as if it was coming out of her paycheck🤦

The menu says Cuban coffee and I walked in and asked for a Cuban coffee and they said they did not have that. They told me to check out the French bakery next door for a Cuban coffee. Makes no sense.

I’ve been here many times only because the food is amazing but the service sucks. I’ve had different servers and unfortunately I never get a good service. Besides liking the food I don’t think I’ll be back unless they do some serious training or change the personal to people that really are willing to do their job.

BEWARE. Two Waiters claimed that the fish I ordered was a red sanaper fillet. I'm super allergic to catfish (Basa or swai), which also happens to be a cheap fish imported from Vietnam and China. After getting the fish it was super obvious that it was in fact catfish. After first saying it was red snapper, they then confirmed it was catfish.i had to ask 5 times after one of the managers told me that the owner ask them to lie about it, I will file a complaint with the city officials. Unacceptable.

I had a terrible experience at Barrio Latino. The service was okay, but the food was absolutely awful. The chicken, shrimp, and steak supreme fajitas were disgusting. The steak seemed over-marinated and old, almost rancid. The chicken breast tasted like it had been precooked. The shrimp were of low quality. The vegetables were limp. The spices and seasonings were completely unbalanced. The shrimp enchiladas with two sides were equally terrible. There was no balance between saltiness and flavor. The sauce was repulsive. The potatoes were raw inside, mushy, and burnt on the outside. The service was decent, but it's hard to evaluate the waiter's performance with such terrible food. I will not be returning and I do not recommend dining here.

I don’t usually waste my energy on bad reviews — I just quietly walk away and never look back. But Bairrio Latino deserves a standing ovation… for how consistently awful they manage to be. I’ve given this place more chances than it deserves. Each time, I walk in with a tiny spark of hope. Each time, they stomp it out with impressive efficiency. The food arrived lukewarm — like it had been sitting around wondering if it even wanted to be served. I asked for a replacement, and they somehow managed to get it wrong. Ordered chicken. Got steak. Then finally chicken… after enough time passed for me to reconsider every life choice that led me there. If you enjoy cold food, wrong orders, and the thrill of watching your patience evaporate in real time, this is your paradise. If not, even Pollo Tropical feels like fine dining in comparison. Save your time.
