The prices are high and the tip is incluided, the food is great, the menu has a lot of options, the plates presentation is great, the place is clean, the food is fresh, the attention is good, the music is wonderful. It Is my second time here and we definitely come back.

I’m grateful for this restaurant. I was look g for good seafood and I found Barzola after I put my stuff in storage. It was a great find. The food was magnificent, the waitress had great service and I will definitely be back before my vacation is over!

What great words can I use to describe this Ecuadorian restaurant? Absolutely amazing. My mom and myself went to try Ecuadorian food for the first time yesterday and we had an incredible experience. From the Ceviche to Llapingachos, and beer. Coming from Palm Beach, I would definitely come back to this establishment soon!

My partner is Ecuadorian born and raised. We live in Colorado where Ecuadorian establishments are rare to none. This place made him extremely happy as the food was delicious and service was great. We tried a little bit of everything and can happily say that we loved it! I wish we could stay in Miami longer so we could keep coming back! Don’t miss out on this gem. I recommend the delicious empanadas!

Excellent restaurant with the best Ecuadorian cuisine! I recommend getting the ceviche de camarones, caldo de bolas, and higos con queso. Great costumer service and amazing food.

For a transplanted New Yorker finding Ecuadorian food is a plight usually unfulfilled. Although the prices may be somewhat high I can only imagine the rent the establishment must dish out. The food was amazing and the service was on point. Will definitely come back next time I find myself in Miami.

Many people in Miami know about Peruvian, Mexican, Colombian, Venezuelan food, etc. You should try Ecuadorian food where the real shrimp ceviche is from. I start as an appetizer with "bolones de verde with chicharron y queso" green plaintain with pork and cheese. I highly recommend the "Encebollado de pescado" fish soup. How delicious it was. As a dessert, I had "higos con queso" figs with cheese. I took home "Arroz with cangrejo" rice with crab, super good. Their menu has a great variety of dishes. I am looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. Great flavor and portions.

Great Encebollado! Great Guatita! I liked the seasoning which is on point. Music was great! Music was a little bit loud though.

The first Ecuadorian restaurant I try in Miami, and I loved !! I tried the ENCEBOLLADO, and it was delicious, I recommend it 100%! I will come back for sure! Please I will love it more if you can make deliveries to Downtown Miami.

Not sure why some reviews say service is bad. Our experience with the service was great. And food was fantastic. Got the Cuádruple Ceviche and it was delicious 😍😍😍😍

Great food and place. Too much for the imposed service fee 20%!!! I hope it goes to the people that serves.

The food was delicious, I was unsure at the beginning, but after they gave me my Encebollado everything was great. I was looking for Ecuadorian food in North Fl, and I couldn't find any, so I had to come to Miami, and finally found a good one. I think this restaurant is very good. Im definitely coming back to thisrestaurant . I Suggested to the owner of the restaurant to make a website, so it can grow more.

We were staying in the neighborhood and Barzola was nearby. I was happy to try Ecuadorian food and it was fabulous. The fried cheese with the cassava coating was a huge hit with our group. We had entranda, the goat stew, chicken breasts, and the chicken soup. Portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. Service was mostly Spanish, but you can work with it. We ate at lunch. I will definitely return the next time I come to Miami.

Best Ecuadorian food in Miami. Second only to another spot called Barzola 2. Food was warm, big portions. Service was friendly, and the menu options great for anyone looking for some home cooking. Its rare to find a good Ecuadorian joint and Barzola fits the bill

The best Ecuadorian food in the whole United States and I have traveled to more than 7 states. encebollado is my favorite dish made exactly like in Ecuador. When I come here or I'm in the area I always stop here to eat.

Good food from the coast of ecuador. Love the cazuela, bollo de pescado and rice with shrimp. The ceviches are good, but not my favorite. I ordered a Guitig ( mineral water) and was flat :( but the passion fruit juice was amazing! Don't forget an empanada de verte to start! And the Aji is really good too!

Food is good if you want to eat ecuadorian cuisine. Prices are very expensive but you need to be ready for that. I always go to the Pembroke Pines location but i was in a meeting in Miami and went to this location with 2 friends. I ordered a fish cazuela, bolon de maduro mixto and a glass of quaker. My bill was $52 including the tip.

Reading the reviews and I don’t know why people say the food is bad, to me most of the food I order here is good. Their customer service can improve but overall my favorite restaurant in Miami. Been coming here for over 10 years and they have fixed it up cute over the years and it’s kept clean too compare to what it was in the beginning.

J

I didnt go inside..my girl did..I got a bandera..its my favorite..its a mix of like 3 or 4 of Ecuadors top dishes combined..(ithink)... Last time I went in was about 8 years ago if not more..still as good as then when it comes to taste. Order a drink called manzana o order a drink called tropical..I like both..

Me encantó 100% recomendable.

After reading so many of the reviews for this restaurant. I had to come here myself to test it out. We were acknowledged & seated. The waiters were all very nice to us. The atmosphere was lovely. Very clean & welcoming. My family & I ordered our meals & told them to bring everything out together at the same time (appetizer was my main course) Everything looked beautiful & our meal was delicious. The servers did check up on us multiple times asking "everything okay?" Which is was so of course we said yes. The 18% tip is included which is said on the menu so everyone is aware. Overall I had a nice experience which is good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my grandmother asked for a 2nd cup of hot tea & the waiter for. I had to ask "how much longer for the tea to be served?" And he politely said "I'm sorry I forgot" I know there are good reviews & not good ones but I would say try this place out for yourself atleast once & see if you like it. If you don't then don't return but my experience was a good one.

Muy delicioso. I always enjoy some Ecuadorian food to make me feel like I'm back there. The food was flavorful and good customer service was provided. I had the encebollado, and shared a bollo de pescado. I also had a jugo de naranjilla. I think my boyfriend had a ceviche de camarón and he liked it, but felt it could've had more flavor instead of it being very tangy and like flavored. I wish I could remember more.

Service was okay, waitresses were nice. Caldo de Bola was a disappointment, It kind of tasted like they had added milk to it...as soon as I looked at it I knew it was not going to taste like it should and it didn't.... However, the ENCEBOLLADO was awesome, I also tried the cazuela mixta and it was good. Portions are big. Place looks clean.

The food and service was really good, I'm from Ecuador and I went with my family, the only but that we have, is that the place itself is not well taken care of, it needs a renovation ASAP.

My friend and I we eat Bandera and Arroz marinero but his Arroz marinero wasn’t good the fish was spoiled. I told the waitress but she don’t offer to change or give us a discount

K

it is not a bad restaurant, food is good BUT the fact that I have to go in person to place an order rather to be able just to do it over the phone just because I wasn't on the "date base" made me not want to go there again, come on now, I don't live by the area, I had a baby sleeping on the car, I could just park upfront jump out pick up and leave but no, they wanted me to go in, give all my information and place the order then so what was going to be a 3 minute deal changed to a 20 minute wait, no thanks.

M

Too limited. I drove 1 hour to get there and found it closed. Closing a 6 pm, like they are just open for lunch, no dinner.

K
Karla Luzuriaga

Food is good, encebollado and caldo de bolas are really tasty. They need to work more in the hayacas, those were not good, too plain… Prices are high, they charge 4 dollars for a side of maíz tostado. We went today and the server forgot to take off the passion fruit juice from the bill (we didn’t drink it bc it was veeeeery sweet!) …then apparently she got a little bit upset and with attitude told us: “ok, I will remove it and I’ll put the soda that I forgot and I will charge for the To go boxes.” In what world!!! Charging for to go boxes!??????? Definitely take away some points to this place…!! She said the owners are Ecuadorians and they put the rules… Well I’m a Ecuadorian too and not even in my country they would charge for the tarrinas. First place in USA someone has charge me for that. It’s not for the price it’s the fact of… disappointing.

a
anaranjo087

The food is great, but the servers were more interested in chatting between them rather than pay attention to the customer. Management please take note, there's a lot of other clients who feel the same.

A
A Q (Alex)

The food iservice usually very good. I had gone there many times. However, today I called to order to pick up and I was told that since they don't have my number on file, they can't take my order;really?? loosing business.

N
Nelson Trivino

The food was okay, nothing special, but prices were too high. I will not come back . We were 2 persons, we have 2 soups, 3 fruit juice, $ 93,85 plus tax plus tips, 110 dollars total. For just 2 lunches.

A
Augusto Hernandez

Good experience trying Ecuadorian food for the first time however I believe they need to improve on their customer service if wasn’t a good experience at all

J
J. A. Matias

The only thing I don’t like about the place is that wader you like it or not they charge you 20% tip. Other than that the food is great!

J
J Moller

Food has always tasted great! No complaint there. Waiters have always been kind. However I do feel some of their items are overpriced. I’m a bit disappointed that they no longer allow you to order food ahead without registering your information with them. Absolutely ridiculous! Not to mention I asked for a side of their pickled onions and thy said no since it’s only for certain plates. I was even willing to pay extra for it and was still advised no.

F
Fabio Cabrera

Only Ecuadorian restaurant in the area. Parking is limited since it's in a shopping center. Food tastes good, but could have more flavor. Staff is attentive. Pricing is moderate to high. Gratuity is included in party of 2. No dining specials.

J
Jorge Arias

Bad service, price on menu did not match final charges. Paid $17.00 for small encebollado. Bad experience with the waiter. Food not great total ticket $107.

L

I've been a customer of Barzola for over 11 years. Giovanni has been excellent. I think he may have sold the place. I went this weekend and seems like the cook had Covid and lost his sense of taste and smell. The food was regular at best. Another thing, the "Seco de Pollo" is a lawsuit waiting to happen. the Chicken is full of broken bones, super pointy and sharp! I'm am surprised no one has stabbed their mouth with the bones. So sorry to see the quality of their food disappear. I will need to find another Ecuadorian restaurant.

S
Stephanie Vazquez

Came to the restaurant with my family. From the outside it doesn’t look that great but once you go in it’s beautiful and well taken care of. Food was amazing in taste and presentation. Gratuity is automatically added to your tab. I think this would be the main reason why the service was TERRIBLE. These waiters know no matter what they get paid and don’t care how they treat the customers. We waited over 10 minutes for the server to come and ask for anything. We ordered water, soda and our meals. The waiter took another 15 minutes to bring our drinks and never brought the water. We asked for a meal with only chicharron. They brought it with cheese and chicharron. When we advised the waiter he sat there and argued with us that we ordered with cheese, until we explained the one who ordered is lactose intolerant. That’s when the waiter backed off. Then the meals came separately instead of all together. Two meals came out, then we waited about 15 min after everyone was eating to get the last meal on the table. We then asked for more water and then waited another 15 minutes for them to bring it to the table(keep in mind we had to ask another waitress, not our waiter). Even though the food was great I would definitely NOT come back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go. Not for that type of service. NOT WORTH IT!!!!

J
Jennifer Alexander

Good food terrible customer service. Servers had no clue how to split the bill among our party and kept getting the bill wrong each time. They were barely pleased when asked to bring more to drink. Definitely did not tip extra

N
Narda Sakata

Unfortunately, since the tip is already included in the bill, the service is terrible. The waiter has no manners. And I mean just to simply take an order. They bring the food as it comes out from the kitchen , so at the table there will always be someone eating while another is waiting. You can not change your mind on if you wanted to pick up or eat there, that will take you out of the "list" (reminds me the soup Nazi guy from Seinfeld). That is a list of people they approved to accept to order for pick up. No coming back .

3
305Miami fishing

Which the server can put little more effort on assuring her customers are taken care off, I would have given this place a 5 stars Today 3/4/17, wanted to enjoy a home meal but ones again the service is just really and what I say bad is bad. . Servers just do not care and the reason in my opinion is because the tips are included!! so no matter what they will get their tip.. Sad

Although the ceviche and humitas were delicious, the price of the ceviche was outrageous. I go to eat ceviche at least once a week and have not payed what I payed at Barzola. Additionally, they charged 6.50 for a so called Covid charge for a bill of 47.00 on a to go order which I picked up. Won't be returning. I go to restaurants regularly and have NEVER BEEN CHARGED A Covid CHARGE.

G
General

Food was good but they offer steak on the menu but is actually chuck roast and food delivery was very slow and stagger. Do not recommend for groups of 6 or more.

M
Marie Murillo

You are ready to be robbed.. Barzola will be the place. They take advantage of being one of 2 Ecuadorian Restaurants in Miami Dade County, the quality of their food has declined, service is horrible, waiters give priority to larger parties as this restaurant imposes a 20% tip to the bill and if you don’t pay attention is included you end up tipping double, also their their other move is not to bring you a paper bill instead they call out the order from their handheld machine to not give you a chance to review it, that is how I ended up paying $125 for 2 Ceviches de Camaron, 1 Guatita and Manzana Soda.

G
Gisselle Garcia

The service was HORRIBLE . We had to wait a while for someone to even acknowledge us . She took our order and the food came out one by one . I asked for my steak well done and it came out with blood . The waiter got an attitude when she had to take it back. Never once came back to ask if we needed refills or anything else . When we addressed our concern to another waiter he just stood there and argued with us . It’s disapointing because we travel a long way to eat here. The food is great but the service makes me not want to come back again .

⸻ The food is excellent, the Encebollado is fantastic and authentic. But when I asked for the bill, it wasn’t brought to the table—the total was only said out loud. When I questioned it because the amount shocked me, the server reacted annoyed and said she’d bring the receipt. She brought it after a long wait, and that’s when I saw the tip had already been included without prior notice. Food 10/10. Transparency at checkout 0/10. Showing customers the itemized bill from the start is basic service. I will not return.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM The food was good, I ordered encebollado with fish and shrimp which said $23.99 for the one with just fish and then the added cost of the shrimp plus the bottle of water came out to $43.33. Not sure how but for this reason I wouldn’t recommend this place. When I placed the order they had not told me or listed on the menu the additional price for shrimp. It was extremely overpriced. $4.75 for a bottle of water?? My Spanish is limited and they don’t speak English and I wanted a free glass of water. This is a standard $1 bottle of Dasani water. DO NOT COME HERE

Avoid at all costs! We heard from friends this restaurant isn’t the best. However, my husband and I were craving Ecuadorian food, so we gave it a try. He got so sick that he said he would never return to this place! Yesterday February 20, 2024, I wanted to give a second chance to this restaurant and brought my mother. The food wasn’t bad this time. However, we finished eating and the waitress took our cards, my mom asked her for “Queso Chonero”. We got two pieces for $26, the waitress a Salvadorian lady never brought the check, but she since she took our cards she decided to charge our cards, when we did the math things were not making sense, we requested her to bring the original check. She brought the check, and we realized she added the cheese on our original check to get more on a tip, since is an “automatic” 20% tip. Very convenient to add $26 MORE to get a bigger percentage for her tip! She thought we were not going to realize what she did. That’s not being smart, that’s stealing. that’s illegal! It’s like we go to the supermarket to get cheese and get charged 20% for buying cheese. she acted like we were saying something crazy and said the system doesn’t let her make any return. We were wondering how many people have done that? Many people don’t check the check. So sad to receive this service and see they take advantage. We will never be back!

I came yesterday 1-29-25 to eat fritada I’ve been there before food ok Barzola 2 food is better to be honest. Well yesterday I order fritada it was heated in the microwave tasted old the meat dry no flavor. I spoke to the waiter she said it was fresh straight from the kitchen when I saw her with my own eyes. And she said the meat was dry because I had ask my onion sauce to the aside. Ridiculous. She didn’t know what else to say. Plus two occasions I was there a man kitchen personal was in the women’s bathroom for almost 40 mins on the phone. Totally unprofessional never going there again. I rather drive 1.5 hrs to pembroke pines to Barzola 2 and eat fresh food where you don’t get stomach issues.

S

The worst Ecuadorian restaurant I have ever known, the good presentation but very bad food, Caldo de bola without a bola ... Overheated humita without flavor, Seco de chivo made with beef of the worst quality, should not be advertised as an Ecuadorian restaurant only discredit the Ecuadorian cuisine.

J
Jesus Avila

The worst service we ever have they selling caldo DE Bola and is not even close never seeing milk in this dish ask the waiter with respect we don't want this since is not what we ask for and he did not even ask what can he replace it with to make our stay more pleasant but instead he disappear and a lady end up helping us to tell you the truth this place doesn't deserve not even a star please find something else unless you want to pay 18 percent tip for the worse service in your life definitely needs a lot of improvement but that waiter guy is making this restaurant even worse.

E
Erik Campues

Its not the same anymore. The service used to be good and the prices fair as well, but like any other restaurant when they see they are getting a lot of customers they rise the prices and they lower the food. I would not recommend it at all. Its just not the same anymore.

C
Chris Delgado

My advise for everyone is to eat something else or prepare at your own home. The prices and bad service are just too much. I quit on the Ecuadorean restaurants long ago.

R
Rolando Medina

The service was horrible. Had to eat my food with dirty dishes on my table. Never came by to check how we were doing or to just pick up the empty plates. I asked for water and had to wait 15 min for him to finish cleaning the counter before I had to ask someone else for water. The food came 1 by 1 out.

O
Oscar Cedeno

The service was horrible and too expensive. I bought a gallon of Quaker drink for 15 dollars to go. The following week I went with my family to eat and asked for a gallon of Quaker and they refused to sell me the gallon and sold it by the glass for $4.50. I got up with my family and left.

M
Mayra MP

The food didn’t have a good taste. It tasted like old saved food. The bathrooms didn’t have soap and they already charge you a tip of 18%. DONT GO.

J
Jimmy Echavarria

Placed an order to go and when I came to pickup, I asked why I was getting charged 18% gratuity and the waitress stated that the law... The waitress was rude. Never coming here again.... Wonder how much they would charge if they did delivery 🤔

N
Nelson Vallejo

Food was ok but the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress didn’t take the order correctly and had a very bad attitude on top of that. She never even cared to come back to the table to check in on us. Wouldn’t recommend this place because of the terrible service and ok food!

M
Marcela Ramos

Worse service ever!! Placing an order over the phone and the guy just hang up the phone like nothing!!! Like seriously!! What kind of service is that and I get no apologies when u called back to say something about!! The owner of this restaurant won’t do anything about any complaints given to him!!! No customer services!!!

J
Jose Alcivar

I came for breakfast to this place and the experience was just horrible. First of all I’m in the F&B business. So I know exactly what I mean. The special of the day was Morocho, I order it thinking going to taste a Ecuadorian morocho!! What I got was something made of corn meal boil with milk and few morocho grains by the way very watery. It wasn’t morocho at all, over priced 17 dollars for a cup of flour boiled with milk excuse me but the price is so ridículos. As a second dish I order Ayaca it was taken from the frizzer and definitely defrost in a microwave, totally dry no flavor at all, with chunky pieces of Chicken, untasted something that for sure was purchase 2 weeks ago completely wired, I finished with a Bolon de Quezo, Please don’t offer it to an Ecuadorian from Manabi, it was just ok nothing spectacular, at home I make better Bolon than this by the way it was cold. So sorry about it but experience was a disaster I just don’t recommend this place for any one actually not for Ecuadorians it is just some food but it is not Ecuadorian food. Food Poor quality Price Over priced Service It was ok Un desastre de comida háganse un favor a uds mismos y no vayan a este lugar, unos platos malechos, unos boloñés q son unos amasijos de verde son chicharrón usan cracking de sisco, comida de funda y unas ayacas congeladas de hace tres semanas secas, duras con pedazos de pollo entero, un desastre y un morocho disque morocho una agualeche sin morocho a 17 dollares la taza, mas el 18% de propina mas los taxes al final sales pagando 25 dollares por una taza de aguamorocho, terrible experiencia FOOD : very bad quality PRICE: Extremely over priced for that quality Service: OK

For a place that has great food, the services and online delivery sucks. Do not place an order online, becauset they will cancel your order. The restaurant closed at 8pm, place an order at 7pm, get a call in 2 minutes requesting For Me to cancel because do not have any food. Seriously, no food one hour before closing. The worst part, I specifically explained to the owner, if I cancel. I will get charge $37.00 as a penalty fee. He answer, sorry I can't help you. It's so sad it only 2 Ecuadorian restaurants in Miami. I won't be surprises, if goes under and we get stuck with only 1 Ecuadorian restaurant in Miami. Shame on you!!!!

The worst experience ever... I've tried 5 times (possibly) only 1 was OK... The last time ordered the caldo de bola, which I noticed right away it was old and tasted rancid. The server had the guts to give me the nastiest attitude and pretended to brain wash me that there was nothing wrong with the food. Finally he admitted was bad after talking to "the chef" (I doubt is a professional chef). I ordered something else instead... and guess what... IT WAS EVEN WORSE... the server said. Don't worry leave it there I wont charge you. I said fine. I asked for my check: oh surprise... was charging me for the soup!!! REALLY PEOPLE??? I WAS WILLING TO PAY THE APPETIZERS THAT ME AND MY BUDDY HAD. But the server couldn't have enough guts to say. Be thankful I'm charging you the smaller amount of them 2 (main entrees) REALLY WHATDAF......??? He started to have a fit and kicked us out of restaurant even we were going to pay for the freaking appetizers. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PEOPLE??? the owner is never there I tried to contact them and they NEVER face or confront their problems. 1) bad food 2) nastiest service 3) poor management 4) they just don't care if you enjoyed or have a complaint. Stay away from this people. Their food got me sick previous times. And this last time I wasnt going to let that happened again. Yes, I know. I persisted since ecuadorian food is not in every block like Mc Donald's. I am way disappointed and upset with their nastiness (literally)

Not worth it and overpriced. They bill you tip even when you take out. The service is unprofessional. DO NOT waste your time or money. The food was also not good. The shrimp ceviche tasted old. Grossed me out.

Horrible Horrible service, don’t get the lady server there, this lady server, hide the detail original receipt, because she add 18% tip automatically, even if you are 1 person only, then she highlight the creditcard receipt asking for more extra tip, this is completely not honest, and you asked why she did that, She get Mad on you, DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE, She did this to me many times, abd this is the last one! Not Coming never again! Food is fear enough, problem is the service, owner should fire everyone and get better people!

The chuleta taste like kelp and while I was drinking a cup cracked, the food is hard and while in the restaurant my child tooth broke I don’t know if it was because he bit a tiger or the lizard was alive. I don’t recommend this restaurant for your personal health!

Food didn't taste good. Tip is included and now they are charging a Covid fee of 10 dollards even if u order online. That s.. I feel robbed 😪. I don't recommend this place. It looks like they have a new owner or administration cause a lot has change. U have lost a customer for ur bad service.

As for a ceviche mixto with concha cangrejo y pescado, at the first bite I noticed a pieces of concha almost crack my tooth When I finish I recommend the waitress put more attention about this incident She just tells she can do nothing because the concha coming in that way At least I expect a better answer , on top of that 18% tip and they ask for an extra tip. As a customer we need better service and answers

This restaurant was good for years, but now the food is terrible, very expensive and if you buy to go, please check what they are giving you, because last week I purchase caldo de salchichas y salchicha seca and when I got home, both dishes were full with liver only no morcilla at all...not even of green plantain and it got me very sick, I went to the ER with an intestinal blockage. Never again in my life, so sad now knowing they are scammers.

Terrible service, Caldo de Bola tasted like it had a pound of salt in it. The plantain ball looked old and dried up. My guest's food was unedible and disgusting. After sharing how awful the service and food was we were still billed the full price for food we had not even eaten and certainly did not want to take home. We left to go eat somewhere else and get real food. What a disappointment. The other locations in Ft. Lauderdale and in Queens, NY are a thousand times better!

I am Ecuadorian I was looking for typical food from my country in Miami and I ended up having the worst experience of my life at Barzola1. We ordered lunch for 3 people, 2 fanesca and a mixed bolon with steak, the 3 of us ended up completely intoxicated and I ended up in the hospital for severe poisoning. I also have to say my bill at Barzola1 was $200 just for 3 people, total waste of money. The food in this place is ridiculously disgusting! Don’t ever go to this place!

very disappointed this time. The “caldo de salchicha” was not even the shade of what it used to be, definitively they must have, against all advise not to, let the cook go, It was watery, just a few pieces of salchicha and very greasy, not worth the $18 of our hard earned money. The “Boyo de pescado” had “no salt”, and i was not even given rice for my “take out” order. Sorry but unless you reinstate the old Caldo de Salchicha the way it used to be, i am not coming back!

Didn’t even get as far as the food, because the service was so bad. I won’t be back.

Don't ever think about odering out, they will make you pay gratitude and the food quality is the worst. I paid 17 for an arroz con cangrejo, which was a yellow rice mixed with tiny bit of cangrejo, nothing else.. no peas, no carrots and no flavor.. que pena!

I'm from fort Lauderdale and decided to come down to this lovation bc there are no Ecuadorian restarants in my area. Google, the door, and even the sign stated the restaurant closes at 6pm I've worked in restaurants and closing time is usually the time they let the last guests in. I obviously would've loved to come earlier but being so far and traffick, I at least tried to make it before last call... I got there at 5:36 to be exact and the "open" sign was on just to find the 2 servers counting money on one of the tables and basically told me they're closed. To me, it just seems they want to go home early on a Friday night. I was not impressed! Don't even want to try the food anymore :/ I take it they're not the same Barzola family from Brookly.... I came down for the nostalgia of having gone to a Barzola up there in the late 90s early 00's but never again!.

This place is overpriced for the quality of the food and service. We were a party of two and still had to pay 18% gratuity which already comes included in your bill. On top of that, the prices on the menu don’t tie to what you are charged. So be careful!!! They are trying to be creative on how they steal more money. You can totally go to a high-end restaurant and end up paying about the same.

APRIL 2024 The food was good. The waitress that helped us was from Cuba.... and she decided to add herself a 20% on our bill without even notifying us (THEY NEVER PRINTED A RECEIPT IN DETAIL THEY ONLY PRINT A RECEIPT WITH THE TOTAL, so make sure you ask for 1) So without us knowing about it, we add another 20%, and that is when the numbers didn't add up with only 2 dishes and 2 drinks. I UNDERSTAND if it is a table of 5+ people to automatically add a tip, but it was only 2 people. That is totally dishonest, and management should do something about it. Instead of continuing to take advantage of their customers. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I order Chivo seco as the waitress suggested it ,it was the plate of the house. I asked her if had a strong flavor, she say not at all. When I got the plate it had a strong Goat taste and a strong smell . I call the waitress to complain and she was nasty saying she couldn’t take the plate back and that I had to pay for it, even though I haven’t touched the food, this was terrible service ! since she should had taking the plate back and allow me to order something else to satisfy the customer. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Not only the service was terrible they forced me to leave a tip included in the bill. I will appreciate if the owner can reach me as his staff is not giving the owner information.

Worst waitresses. They added an automatic gratuity of %18 to my order (I am supposed to determine that, right?) Food was okay but nothing to be amazed by or even unique and was way overpriced...$21 for fries, rice and about 8 rings of Itty bitty calamari that tases like it was previously frozen and thawed in a microwave They didn't bring any sauce for the chicken strip meal as advertised and never came back to refll cups. I had to flag the waitress down multiple times while she spent all her time talking with one table and acting like we weren't there. As a tourist, I would like to have seen a little more attention to details like this so I can recommend them here. What a joke and definitely a tourist "trap" not a :destination. Avoid at all costs, not worth the time or frustration, much less the money.

It’s a shame that this restaurant seems to be headed in a very greedy direction. Never have I seen a mom Pop restaurant advertise a minimum consumption charge of $15 to pay with a debit or credit card. On top of the fact that their prices are ready at a very significant premium for a simple Bolon you will find yourself paying $15 for. Not to mention that the portions served are not what they used to be you are now paying more for less. I hope this restaurant can turn things around because it is a shame the direction they are heading in. At this point I much rather Eat at a central American spot and get more bang for my buck.

We waited to be seated at the stablishment but it seems that they wait untill last minute to organize the seatings. They let pass more people and we did not get seated, just excuses. They just needed to put together 2 tables but i guess that is too much to think through. Your customer service is undesireble as your organization. Learn how to deal with your operations logistics behind doors so you dont fail your potential customers.

These restaurants is horrible. The take for ever to serve you and they are very rude. On top of that they automatically charge you 18% tip even if it’s a party of two and if you tell them to remove the 18% they refuse. Quality of the food has gone down in the past year and their prices have gone up. The last time I went they charged me even for the to go box for my left overs. That was the last time me and my family go back to that restaurant.

The ambient music is loud the servers said that they can't control it, so we have to deal with it. The food lacks of the Ecuadorian flavor that is supposed to represent. The server never refill the water in your glass, no extra paper nappings and they are always hidden in the kitchen. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PAY!! 1) They never print your itemized consumption. ASK FOR IT because items will be added. 2) 18% service fee will be charged to your TOTAL consumption by default. Don't pay for SERVICE TWICE unless you want it. To me business like Barsola Restaurant doesn't represent the nice people of Ecuador, neither the delicious and wonderful Ecuadorian food.

This place continues to go downhill and with today’s experience we will not return, nor would we suggest anyone visit this place. Ecuador is a place of beautiful people and amazing food, but nothing here is reflective of that. The staff is rude and dismissive, the food mediocre at best. On our visit 10/13/25 the water thy served us had particulate floating, after two attempts they gave us bottled water. The food was bland, our meat overcooked and lacking in flavor. At the end of our meal they charged us 4.75 per bottle of water without warning, despite not able to provide us with clean drinking water. We weren’t aware of the charge, had we known we could have enjoyed a different drink. To top it off they charged us a 20% obligatory tip. I urge anyone that reads to this to avoid this restaurant and let nature take its course. There are other much better Ecuadorean restaurants that will treat you better, and provide better food. Health department has been notified as they need that water to cook and cleans as well.
