Beaker and gray Miami Reviews
Do yourself a favor and come for dinner. I had been for brunch twice before and wasn't really impressed but when I went for dinner.... the game completely changed. Everything was very tasty and well prepared. It's tapas style so it's best to order plenty of the plates and try them all. They even have vegetarian options. The cocktails were good.
This was a great place to start our evening in Wynwood. The atmosphere was definitely for the younger crowd and it was low light and loud, but buzzing and exciting. The cocktails were amazingly flavorful as was the food. The dishes are small, packed with flavor, and seriously satisfying. Each dish is meant to be shared and they arrive as the kitchen finishes each one. You can’t go wrong with your order here because it is all great! Definitely not kid friendly or for the hard of hearing. This is a great place for friends or a date. The food is amazing and the drinks will blow you away!
We absolutely loved beaker and gray! We were looking for a birthday brunch spot and the google reviews looked great so we tried it out and man did it exceed our expectations! Their brunch menu was so creative and the drinks were delicious! I got the yucca chilaquiles and they were outstanding! Service was lovely, all the way from the host to our server to the bartenders! Thank you beaker and gray for a lovely brunch experience:)
Wow, incredible food! Very interesting seasoning and combination of ingredients. Plates are slightly on the small side but the taste is something really special. Don’t expect to be full but expect to be intrigued. I strongly recommend the hangar steak but others in my table seemed equally impressed with the food. It’s definitely a place to visit!
Went Saturday for lunch. It was pretty empty so the service was great. I ordered the gin, carrot and ginger cocktail and the shrimp polenta for my meal- I highly recommend them both. Update: When I first went about a year ago, I feverishly recommended this place to all my friends. Since then, they have changed their menu and the plates seem to be smaller. I am willing to give them another shot but the last time I dined there, all our plates were $18+ and the portions and flavors fell short.
Nice restaurant. My waiter was also nice. And the food and drinks were delicious. I didn’t get pictures of my food but they were definitely delicious. We ordered pumpkin gnocchi, rib fried rice, chicken, and cheeseburger croquettes, and carrot cake for dessert. Everything was delicious!!! And since I went on a Friday they had a live DJ so it was definitely a vibe.
The food was EXCELLENT and our waitredd was very sweet and provided a great service. She paid very good attention for the needs of our 2 kids as they dont have a kids menu so we found that to be very good service and it was a great experience. The atmosphere and location of the restaurant is great as well. Highly recommended to come dine here.
WYNWOOD, FL - Beaker & Gray is an upscale, yet cozy restaurant bar and lounge with a cool vibe. It's one of the best and most popular places for brunch in the artsy neighborhood of Wynwood, simply because the experience at Beaker & Gray is one-of-a-kind. . First, there is plenty of seating to accommodate groups, couples, families and singles. When it's busy, it can get a bit overwhelming, so be sure to call in your reservation on the weekends if you are going for brunch. . Their Food: extraordinary! Popular dishes include the Crispy duck with poached eggs and waffles, the Wagyu Burger (try it with the bacon jam - it will blow your mind!), the Steak and eggs + Chilaquiles, the Kale chips + Hanger steak or if you all are carnivorous, try the Meat Lovers Platter which includes chicken, meat, sausages, eggs, fries and bacon. Light Dishes include the -Avocado toast and Polenta and Shrimp. (Follow me on FB/IG/TIK @davegarcia.x)
Excellent tapas experience. We arrived for a very early dinner so we could make our train. Service was excellent and food came out quickly since we were the only ones there. Cocktails were well made and worth the price. Carrot cake was rich and was a bit much for 3 people.
I highly recommend this spot. The food is absolutely delicious. The vibe and decor are great. All the servers I've had have been not only nice, but they completely know the menu upside down and give recommendations. They serve small plates meant to be shared (they call it tapas style) none of the plates are ordinary. My favorite so far is the Tortellinis with oxtail, Tortellinis are deep fried with oxtail inside of them and a delicious sauce. (To give you an idea of the size of the plate, it comes with 6 Tortellinis) Everything I have tried is delicious. The drinks are also very tasty me different than other places I've been. You can park on the street and they offer valet if you don't mind paying. Bathrooms look clean. If you come on the weekend make sure to make reservations Overall this restaurant is a must visit if you go to the wynwood area!
A great experience for groups because you can try a little bit of everything since they serve tapas size dishes. All the plates we tried are a complete work of art. I would highly recommend the pumpkin gnocchi and green papaya salad. They were very unique and delicious flavors. Service was prompt and very accommodating while we sat on the outdoor patio to enjoy the open air seating. Although the tables outdoors were a little small and old looking for a group meal at a high end restaurant. Their cocktails offered some unique flavors but mostly borrowed from classic recipes. We also ordered the churrasco which had an amazing chimichurri sauce, grilled octopus, mushrooms, lemony cauliflower, the b&g salad, and asperagus. I made a reservation earlier that day for a Friday dinner and had no problems quickly being sat although we did sit at their outdoor patio which is less busy. They also had a few tables on their open air balcony but I didn't get to see how beautiful the inside looks. Great dining experience.
It’s rare to find a place that has excellent food, excellent service AND excellent ambience. This is Beaker & Gray. Their dishes are so original and flavors are amazing! We’ve been twice already, very consistent as well. They have brunch until 4 pm on weekends which is an absolute plus for us.
Well my fellow Americans I finished work and made it out with my Bestie Chas and our friend Fanny to Beaker & Gray for Brunch an Amazing Restaurant to definitely try. Well what an AMAZING place to have a delightful and ever so tasteful brunch. We definitely enjoyed the music, great ambiance I took some pictures of mine. I had the Meat Lovers with two extra sides because i had to try them one side of Polenta and another of their INCREDIBLE Sour Dough French Toast with Condensed Milk, and to end this delicious brunch AMAZING CARROT CAKE!! All I can say after this meal is WOW AMAZING AND our server Jeniffer was also Amazing and very knowledgeable. Koudos to this place!
My friend and I have wanted to come to this place for years and it did not disappoint. We went in for dinner and the place had a cool dark ambiance, nicely decorated and great service. Thankfully we were seated immediately but for parties of 4 or more I'd recommend a reservation especially on the weekend. This place doesn't have an extensive menu, but everything is delicious and it's tapas style, and everything comes out as it's ready. I suggest ordering 2-4 things and then order more as you go. Plates aren't really big hence the suggestion of 2-4 if it's 2 people. We first ordered a burger croquet, then the octopus "Delicious", the risotto as amazing as well, waguy dish and then finally I ordered a cortado ice cream. Perfect amount, delicious and our waiter was always attentive.
Visited with my fiancé and one of my besties for brunch to celebrate our recent engagement. Everything from the food to the service was fantastic! Lucy made excellent recommendations and treated us to a celebratory champagne toast which was very sweet! I ordered the Vaca Frita. The creamy mushroom polenta, tender short rib with slightly crunchy sliced pears and onion marmalade was the perfect balance of sweet and savory! Highly recommend! Also ordered El Tigre (espresso, almond-cherry, spiced syrup and brugal). The cocktail was quite flavorful and had the little bit of a kick I needed — I only wish it were a bit bigger portion. My fiancé ordered the Wagyu burger and omg it was heavenly! We had never tried bacon jam, but it was sooo good on this burger! My bestie ordered the Crispy Duck and Waffles - the crunchy, yet moist duck combined with the sweetness of the waffle was absolutely delicious! There’s plenty of table seating indoors and some seats at the bar, but this place can get crazy busy so maybe make a rez if you’re planning to go for brunch. Vibe is kinda upscale, yet cozy. We will be back again soon!!
Our party of 10 had to go off the specific menu I posted, but add ons were available. I worried about the pre selections not being enough or my cup of tea, but they did not disappoint. I didn't hear anyone complain. One person did say they would give food 4 stars based on a few items, but I enjoyed all items presented. The rr situation isn't ideal when drinks are flowing and it's during busy hours, and I understand that can't really be changed. Our waitress was amazing. I'm disappointed I didn't catch her name. She took care of us quickly and she was very kind. Big thanks to her on May 4 Bachelorette dinner party.
Sunday Brunch! Love this place! The menu is simple but anything you’ll order will be delicious, promised! Drinks are superb as well! If you are up to an-alcoholic drink try the Manga Salvia!!!! Regarding food: You MUST try the avocado toast, the French toast and the carrot cake!!!! All in all, great crowd, food, music and service!!!!
Amazing food and great music. Just the vibe I was looking for. Suggested by Resy/Global Dining. Had the mushroom, duck breast, and crispy octopus. Octopus wasn't what I expected... lots of toppings and sauces. Duck was cooked perfectly. Mushroom was incredible. If you like whiskey cocktails, the Ishigo Highball was perfection.
It has comfortable seating and soft lighting that make the place very intimacy and modern, the food was unique, I have to ask what it was each dish it was hard to recognize until you try it, different flavors, a little salty for my taste but great sauces and Ido enjoy discovering every dish. The salmon with mini bagels where awesome and the cream cheese fantastic . Ask for the cheesecake with peanut butter is to die for, coffee delicious well presented and service was good , they please us and take care of us nicely.
I'm gonna say, this place just blowed my mind. I ordered the Pulpo a la Huancaina and I have to say that I was unsure if I was going to like it or not, but as soon as I tried it I realized how incredibly delicious it was and that I would definitely choose any other dish on the menu without hesitation. My boyfriend ordered the mushroom plate and the Korean steak, both of which were delicious too. I was impressed with the flavors and the quality. I would definitely recommend this place!
This place never disappoints. It’s a tapas restaurant with an international cuisine selection. Vibe is casual, nothing over the top. Service is good. Inside seating is a tad too dark and loud, but if you sit outside you won’t have to shout and you’ll laugh at the passing by street entertainment. Value is excellent. We were 4 and ordered almost everything on the menu.
This place is lit. If you're lucky enough to grab a table, just order all the brunch options and split it amongst the table. They're all delicious and not too heavy. The inside area gets loud, but it's where the scene is and really, isn't that the reason you are there? I recommend the Cheeseburger Hash, Bread & Spreads, Chilaquiles, and Shrimp & Polenta. These alone are worth the visit. The drinks are probably amazing but honestly, we were too hungover to try anything. Afterwards, take a walk through Wynwood and enjoy some culture. We all know Miami needs more of it.
This place was, is and hopefully always will be a bomb! I've been here many times and every time they surprise me. Both their cocktails and their food is delectable, bold, flavorful, extremely creative but without being obnoxious. The environment is welcoming and warm and service is super attentive. THIS IS A "MUST GO TO" for any foodie!
Such a great dining experience at Beaker & Gray. Food and outdoor ambiance was fantastic but what really made this a 10/10 experience was the waiters - truly the best we’ve ever experienced. Marcus was our waiter, friendly and fantastic. I wish I could remember the name of another waiter that saw I was lightly choking on a bit of spicy food and without asking brought milk to help. Oh and if you go, get the donuts for desert. They are unbelievable!
I had the omelette dumplings which had a little kick but not much. They were quite a unique brunch option. I was sad that they didn't have captain crunch pancakes like they had on their menu before. The cocktails were really good though, and everyone loved their meal. Even the jams that went with the homemade bread were great.
Incredible. Then marriage of textures and flavors are unparalleled. Was one of the best dining experiences in the last 5 years. Attentive but not oppressive service. Every dish was distinctive with its own flavor profile. Eat here as soon as you can. What we had: Cheeseburger croquettes Octopus Pumpkin gnocchi Shrimp and polenta
Yum! Stopped by for lunch and truly enjoyed the service and food. The choripapa was delicious and the portion was generous. The octopus was good, the olive flavor was a little strong for my taste though. The cauliflower was yummy. Chicken wings, good too. B&G salad was delicious. The steak with huancaina sauce was ridiculously good. I also had a mocktail, mango salvia, very refreshing. Will visit again.
I came here for the first time about three weeks ago and have returned three times since, that is how impressive it is. The decor and ambiance is very elegant but casual also. For the happy hour we tried all the food bites and all were delicious-my fave was the grilled cheese and the strong second was the cheesey fries. Presentation was top notch also. We did order from the beer selection and also the drinks--the margarita is WOW. Justin and Mario (I think that is his name) were our bartenders and were professional and fun also and very educated in all the various drinks/wines/spirits they offer. I have not dined here, just happy hour but the menu is intriguing and will have to eat dinner there soon! Price wise- best happy hour with quality food/drink so far in any place in Miami (I actually prefer it over Sugarcane because of seating)
Such a great brunch location. The service was very good and the food was even better. Ordered the 2 hour free flowing mimosa with an option between watermelon or orange juice, both were very tasty. I ordered the Proper Breakfast which had a beautiful presentation and delicious. Good throwback music played as well and my overall experience was great!
Drinks here are top notch and kudos to the bartender. I found this place through Resy. I am in town from Los Angeles and wanted someplace close to where I was staying in midtown to have something to drink and take in this part of Miami. Really great vibe. DJ playing until 1030. Small bites. Korean ribs were spicy with a unique flavor that carried a hint of pepper away from the sweet and spicy bulgogi flavors which was a unique take all its own. Pumpkin gnocchi was really great and bursting with savory squash flavor. I would recommend this place for a couple of group. It’s loud and boisterous and you will have a good time here.
We went there for brunch right after they opened. Place is big with a prominent mixologist bar and an open kitchen, a bit dark. It feels more like an evening place. They also have a small patio outside with shade. We had some food and cocktails, all were good. The chilaquiles in particular were delicious, with the extra crispy yuka chips and delicious pulled pork. Service was very fast, friendly and accommodating. We had a 1yo baby with us and they brought us hot water to reheat her bottle. Would definitely recommend in the area!
Great for brunch! Service was amazing. We got the bottomless and my glass was ember empty. They have some fun flavors for the mimosas. Great local spot to get some great brunch with friends. Very close to the heart of wynwood too! Will be coming back! Food was delicious!
We went here for brunch and it was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. It was like a foodgasm in your mouth. So many different flavors and the all meshed well together. The staff was so attentive. I think we had Nick. I apologize if that's not your name but you know who we are. Unlimited mimosas. Best bacon I ever tasted in my life. Just overall great. Definitely recommend.
The duck with the bacon jam is one to try! Loved the combination. The chilaquiles were a bit too spicy for me - which means they were done right. The cafe de orchata was refreshing and had a nice punch to it. We sat outside when it started raining but were quickly accommodated inside until we waited it out.
Great place for brunch on the weekend! The wagyu burger was cooked well and I loved the caramelized onions and pickles as toppings. House potatoes were also cooked very well and service was fast. There are a few parking spots available out front, but I would still prefer to Uber here. I'll have to come back soon to try the drinks and other dishes! Update: Drinks are pricy but delicious!
Perfect restaurant location in Wynwood. Nice outside brunch experience. Food was amazing and so was our server Bri. She was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to suggest our selections. They had great size portions that we were able to share. And there bloody Mary’s were amazing. We will definitely be back.
I had a great experience sitting at the bar with my friend enjoying some cocktails and appetizers. Kyle the bartender made me a great mezcal cocktail with a Japanese spice blend on the rim and it was full interesting flavors that really woke up my taste buds. The grilled octopus was quite interesting to try, I think octopus has an odd texture in general, but the sauce on the side really complimented the dish which earned the restaurant a five-star⭐️Rating, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you want to experience enlightening gastronomy and hospitality.
One of Miami’s yummiest restaurants. The food NEVER disappoints at this place. Secondly, Brett made our late night dining experience unforgettable. His attention to detail made the night truly special. He was even able to give us some recommendations for our upcoming trip to a city where he previously lived in. Really made it a point to connect with us while also staying attentive to his other tables.
We went there for Happy hour which starts at 430 and dinner which opens at 5. We ordered the small bites which were lo main, which mybdaughter loved. We all ordered the chicken pinchos which were really good. And the Kale chips which were Excellent. All under $8. I had a few velvet mojitos which were good. No wow factor. Then for dinner we had the Short rib fried rice which was average. But the Pumkin Gnocchi was excellent. As we're the chocolate chip 🍩. WORTH COMING FOR HAPPY HOUR.
Chic restaurant in Wynwood with a great ambiance and good selection of craft beers, cocktails and wines. Small food menu but very good and tasty selection of appetizers, hot, cold and grilled dishes. Portions are small; service is friendly. I highly recommend you make an appointment to avoid the wait. Place is a little loud but definitely not a deal breaker. Highly recommend you give it a try.
Went for with a girlfriend and was not disappointed. We shared dishes and left stuffed! Must try the waffle sandwich, so good! Plantains were on the savory side so I dipped them in the waffle syrup. My complaint would be how loud it is in the dining room. Very industrial so not much to absorb sound. There is outdoor seating as well. Will definitely go back for brunch if I’m back in Miami. Just a couple blocks from the Wynwood walls so you can walk off the waffles :)
Excellent place! I have been twice and had a stellar experience both times. Waygu croquettes, papaya salad, and the shrimp salad were all mind blowing, as were the drinks. The bartenders are all very skilled and can make you anything you could ask for- definitely not 'menu bartenders'. Great staff, creative food, nice atmosphere!
Food was pretty good but the portions are on the smaller size. Service was good except for one thing: we asked for « still water » (because the waitress asked « still or sparkling? »), and they served us a bottled water that costs $9… It wasn’t nice at all, they should have asked « tap or bottled still water » before assuming we’d want the (extremely expensive) bottle… Atmosphere is overall nice: modern decoration, with darker lights. The music is a bit loud, so not the most convenient to chat. We had 2 nigiris as starters — the pork belly one was very good, albeit a tad too salty, and the portobello one was good except for the mousse (which tasted weird… a bit like soap…). We then had entrees, which were yummy: a chicken thigh and a rib fried rice.
We didn’t try much food here so I’ll definitely have to come back to try more and update my review. I did try the kanikama and cucumber which wasn’t what i expected, a little disappointing. The bartender was very friendly and nice. The drinks were great especially the happy hour options
Came for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. I went simple and ordered a chicken sandwich with Cole slaw. I figured it would be decent but not great because most places seem to only serve mediocre chicken sandwiches. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. I look forward to coming back to try different things.
Great place for dinner with friends. I went on a Saturday and the place was packed. Still with reservation we walked straight in to our table. It was a bit on the louder end so it might not be a good place to hold deep conversations. Food is really good. The menu is mixed but I found it leaning towards Italian cuisine. All the tapas are delicious, especially de sandwichito.
The cocktails are awesome and the vibe is pretty chill. It's definitely a great place to have a few drinks and a good conversation BUT the food isn't great. They also have a "last call for cocktails" (first time in my life I heard that) so, you end up with one hour to go before they close and you can't keep drinking what you wanted so it's a 4 out of 5 for me and I'm being generous.
We walked in for drinks and bites around midnight on Friday. The kitchen was closed but they still had fries available! We had a few cocktails, I had their twist on an Old Fashioned, Borbory Bracer and it was pretty good! The apricot somehow works. My date had the Rosé Colored Glass and it was tasty make sure to soak that rosemary branch it adds a lot of depth to the drinks.
First time here and Definitely love this it was GREAT atmosphere and the food was really good the only thing I’m gonna say is the entrées are VERY SMALL but they’re so delicious like the short rib cooked to perfection! The cookie donuts were really good I just thought they were regular cookies because on the menu it says cookies and milk and I was thinking it was cookies and milk but it was cookie donuts with vanilla milkshakes for the milk it was quite cool tasty treats.
My Lovebug and I enjoyed brunch here on a Sunday during in late February. The service and food were really good. We split all of thefood we ordered, which was the croque madame, chilaquiles, and sticky bun. We also ordered spicy bloody Mary's and French press coffee. The bloody Mary's were very lacking in spice and flavor, but we're spoiled living in New Orleans where spicy is just that, spicy. The coffee was great. The chilaquiles and madame were also terrific. The sticky bun was very disappointing. It was presented beautifully but the bun flavor and texture were all wrong. We enjoyed our brunch there and do recommend Beaker & Gray.
Only ate Small Plates but all exceptional. Loaded fries had amazing bacon flavor with a kick at the end from Jalpenos. Roasted Cauliflower with chimichurri had great flavor as well as rhe mushrooms qith asian pear. Wings are very well done if that's how you like them with a sweer tangy taste
Great place with a dark, cozy atmosphere. The menu options are tapas style and it's a great place to try different things to share. Their happy hour is weekdays 3-7, with some $6-7 cocktails, $5 beers, assorted wines, and cheap appetizers. Among these we tried the yuca fries and the cheese fries which were both amazing. The grilled cheese was unremarkable and really the only forgettable food item we ordered. The falafel was black bean based and really good, and the yellow curry noodles were pretty decent but nothing I'd get again. The cocktails were tasty but jam packed with ice so you're done with your drink in a few sips.
Beaker & Gray is an upscale restaurant with a unique cuisine. They offer a variety of small plates. The Cheeseburger Croquettes were my favorite. This a very rich and savory dish. The Wagyu Burger was delicious also. I did enjoy the chicken wings, and they definitely have a kick(spicy). Beaker & Gray does serve cocktails, very good ones to. I would suggest maybe a little more light, I struggled to read the menu. I will definitely return next time I am in Miami. Be sure to make a reservation.
Outside of Wynwood’s main street sits Beaker & Gray. It was pretty slow for a Friday night but the mood was cozy and chick! The server was exceptional! The food: A bit spicy for my taste...it seemed everything had a bit more spice than my taste buds could handle. The music: At the beginning it was pretty cool but after 6-7 songs they all seemed the same. I actually believe it was the same artist being played the whole time we were there. In summary, nice place to go hang out...be aware of the spicy food and ask for variety in their music selection!!!!
We came here for a late dinner on a Saturday. No reservations so we had to sit on the patio, but it was a beautiful night so we didnt mind. Being busy I expected slower service. Our server was tied up so another server took our drink(zacapa old fashionds) and app order (cheeseburger croquettes) so we didnt have to wait. Bonus points for the teamwork and putting customers first. The main food came out quick as well, I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Yellow Curry (fantastic) and the Short Rib (it was decent, the sauce made this better). The only drawback were the portion sizes...We could have had another meal to share.
Nice dinner spot with a variety of food. We shared a bunch of different plates among the group and everything was decent serving sizes. I especially enjoyed the burrata, yellow curry pasta (with no sausage), and carrot cake. The staff was really accommodating for different diets with options to separate meat from some dishes, non-alcoholic cocktail/mocktail options, and generally a wide variety of menu options. Food was overall good! The only negative was the music got increasingly louder throughout dinner, which wasn't ideal for a nice dinner conversation atmosphere. Otherwise it was a good time!
Not impressed. Though the ambience was welcoming, somewhat refined, and enlivened by great music, I was not impressed by their menu. My friend chose this spot for her birthday brunch, so I went. The avocado toast was the only thing that I could have from the menu because I'm pescatarian, and though tasted good, it was not worth $18. I paid $18 plus tax for a slice of bread with ground shrimp and avocado. It was so small that I ordered some home fries. Those turned out to be overcooked and oily. I'm not a cheapskate, and I have no problem paying the price for good food, but it was not for me. I'm sure there are some highfalutin folks who love it though.
Brunch was average, I was kind of disappointed my avocado and eggs didn't come with any seasoning and I had to ask for salt and pepper. I ordered the complete breakfast. The 'home fries' they gave me were little left over, barely any potatoes, and no salt, I ended up eating my husband's. The 'aoli' tasted like a mild whipped butter, no garlic in it at all. The bacon was also like a thick steak which is not really what I was expecting... My husband ordered a burger which was extremely salty. Maybe this place is better for dinner, I give it three stars for the ambiance and service.
It’s not made for family. There’s no changing table in the bathroom. The waiters didn’t consider that there was a 2yrs-old in the table. Didn’t bring additional plates or plastic cup, I have to order it making us uncomfortable with the delay. Overall I think it’s expensive for what they deliver.
Disappointed overall. The cocktails were great, and so was the service, but the music was too loud to hear the servers. More importantly, the food was overly salty and frequently overcooked or cold. The croquettes, for example, were served at room temperature and the sauce very salty. The scallops, on the other hand, were overcooked and chewy. Basically inedible. A sure sign the chef isn't paying attention. I can make better scallops at home! Given the price, etc, I was disappointed, to say the least. Also, the accessible bathroom is a storage closet! Sure, this place tries very hard to be hip and trendy but ultimately it failed miserably due to the poor food quality.
