I always seek out Portuguese restaurants because I loved my trip to Lisbon and miss the food! This spot was a good find on vacation. Great lunch special with hefty portions. I was really loving the chicken in mushroom sauce. Introduced my brother to Portuguese food too and he enjoyed his steak. The waitress was very attentive and kind while serving us. Give braga your business! You won't regret it!
What a great experience. I recommend EVERYONE to come here and order the entire menu. Service was spectacular. Susana, was a sweetheart. Very delicate and sweet. Attentive and on point. Food was AMAZING!!! Can’t express myself anymore. Delicious, cooked well. Thank you chef (which i did not have the time to thank, so please thank him for me). Well done sir. I’ll be back most definitely. Thank you for the great experience.
This little place is fantastic! We loved everything about it!! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as was our waitress. So sweet. Gave us recommendations and was spot as we loved our food. The grilled octopus was phenomenal as was the chicken, steak & seafood stew. All of it was very hearty & very flavorful. Finished with a complimentary Porto! So good. You can park in the supermarket for free.
After our trip to Portugal, we have fell in love with the food and the people. We visited Braga Portuguese Restaurant in Miami for dinner. The service began with a welcoming smile, as we were escorted to our seats. The server immediately brought us warm bread and olive oil. My wife didn’t order an appetizer, but I ordered the seafood soup, which was packed full of clams, calamari, mussels, shrimp and fish. Wow! I could eat this at least three or four times a week, as it was just that delicious. For our entrees my wife ordered the Bacalhau (Cod Fish), with whipped potatoes and I ordered the octopus, which came with roasted potatoes and a roasted red bell pepper . This was a Portuguese restaurant and the food was delicious, but not like being in Portugal. I look forward to dining there again soon. The service was great.
Love this restaurant. The food was delicious. The fish fresh the ambiance very intimate great for a date. Our server Diana was amazing
It was like discovering a hidden gem. Truly worth it. The flavors are simple and yet with very rich flavors. We had lunch: soup of the day which btw the chicken broth and carrot was absolutely gorgeous, the seafood was incredible. We will definitely would love to come again. It is cozy, lovely and in a very convenient place as there is a Miami trolley bus stop right in front of the restaurant (coral way)
Absolutely incredible food! Service was very friendly and fast. Waiter gave great recommendations. Ordered the cod fish croquettes for the appetizer and the grilled octopus for the main. Octopus was so tender I could cut through it with a spoon! Seasoned wonderfully and the grilled onions with it were so sweet they paired nicely with the rest of the dish. One of my favorite meals to date!
We had a great meal at Braga Portuguese Restaurant. The service was great. We loved: garlic octopus (the best dish, very generous), pataniscas de bacalhau (cod fritters), bacalao a la nata (baked cod w/ cream sauce), and the mussels. Every other table got the sausage, which we would order the next time we come by. This is a local favorite and it’s clear why.
If anyone wants to try octopus this is the place to start with, the grilled octopus appetizer was delicious, tender and juicy. Bacalhau a lagareiro was highly recommended. Snapper wasn’t as expected, would probably avoid it. Service was friendly.
Great Portuguese food and a cozy environment as well. Recommend the lunch special highly, rare to find a good deal in Miami these days. I am a regular from this point forward, that's the best recommendation I can give.
Local gem!.. every dish we asked for was delicious. We indulged in an out of this world octopus as appetizer and some croquettes. Then asked for several mains such as Northern Cod (my favorite..) a pork stew and a great rib eye. Even the fish and chicken on kid’s menu were really tasty. We can’t wait to be back again!!
Overjoyed with this restaurant, it’s staff, THE FOOD & the owner. I got to meet Senhor Braga himself! He is amazing, funny and so accommodating. This is one of my neighborhood faves now. Everything we ate here was 5 stars. The food was fresh, delicious and super tasty. We also tried a green wine called Gitao, that I had never heard of but was recommended by Mr. Braga himself. And I loved it, wine usually hurts my stomach but this was gentle and extremely refreshing! Yes, go to Braga, you won’t be disappointed. I’ll definitely be back.
Braga is Miami's hidden gem. A small but very cozy Portuguese food restaurant in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Whenever I go I like to sit outdoor, so I can enjoy the breeze thanks to the proximity of the sea, which is a real luxury in Miami where it is always so hot and humid. The attention of its owner and waiters is exceptional, and the food is simply amazing. Of course, the star dish is cod but the entire menu is delicious. For those who don't eat seafood, I recommend the grilled chicken. It will be the best you've ever had, believe me. On my most recent visit I took a risk with the filet mignon which I like medium. It is not easy to find where they cook it well, and in most places I always get it almost raw or well done, but in Braga it was perfect. Also, for the first time I tried the almond cake instead of the pastel de nata which is my favorite and now it will be difficult to decide on one next time. It was delicious! You will never leave Braga disappointed, and I assure you that you will return.
The best cod fish I eat in years. Bacalhau à natas, very good dish.
The food is very, very good. To me the best Portuguese restaurant in Miami. Real Portuguese food and flavor. The staff is very kind and attentive. I loved the experience and will return for sure!
Very friendly indoors, outdoors setting with authentic northern Portugal 🇵🇹 food. Braised cabrito on Friday. Can't get enough of it.
My wife and I visited Braga last week during our anniversary trip. Mr. Braga gave us the quintessential Portuguese experience. The grilled sardines were a first for me but were delicious along with the alheira (Portuguese Chicken Sausage). The pork tenderloin was mouthwateringly good. In addition, we received a glass of port wine at the end of the meal. A great end to a great experience. We verbalized our plans to return again the following week for our anniversary, but unfortunately he would not be open on the day we planned to come. Regardless, this is definitely a go-to restaurant for us and we look forward to going again in the future.
The food and friendly staff are amazing!! Highly recommend this restaurant for date night or family style eating. You won’t be disappointed. If sitting outdoors a bit of traffic noise but not too bad. Cozy indoor seating.
We had a great experience here. Octopus is tender and flavorful. Seafood rice excellent. Very fresh. Dessert port wine is the best I have had!
We stopped at Braga on our way back to our hotel after heading to the beach. We stopped in as a party of 6 (the toughest two 4 and, and were welcomed warmly. My wife’s family is from Portugal and we’ve been a few times, this tasted exactly as it does in the Old Country. Few was delicious, service was awesome, and price wasn’t bad considering it’s in Miami. Even my son, who is critic gives it 5 stars!!
Awesome food. Big portions and friendly service. We loved the grilled octopus and the shrimp and squid espetada, so flavorful!!
Great customer service and I cannot emphasize it enough. They also went above and beyond with my kids as well. The food was very good. The asparagus, snapper, fillet mignon, and the garlic shrimps.
Little piece of Portugal in Miami. Made us nostalgic about our trip. Loved seafood soup! Also, Porto was amazing, sour cherry notes.
Very nice place to have a great dining experience. You are treated as family. Raul (owner) personally service each client and ensures every thing is to the customer satisfaction. Food quality is great. You can enjoy a nice and pleasant evening.
Great service, amazing food and fair prices! Perfect combination! Very pleasant atmosphere and experience! I had Bacalhau a Gomes de Sa, Alheira and Polvo grelhado and as desert Pasteis de Nata!! Yummy!! Coming back for sure and recommending for my family and friends!! Congrats Mr. Braga, you’re doing great!
We are a couple of an Icelandic and a Brazilian. One who knows how to fish bacalhau and the other who knows how to appreciate it. Braga Restaurant is the true essence of what Portuguese food is all about. Authentic kitchen and amazing service, no way to go wrong with this place. Thank you, Braga!
The food is amazing! You have to try their paella. Omg! To die for!
Thank you for your wonderful service and great food. My friend and I had a delicious lunch on Sunday. The rice with seafood was delish and the pairs were so tasty. The caregivers at the ALF I visit enjoyed the rice you graciously and generously packaged for me. I'll see you soon. I have more people I want to introduce to your food. God bless ✝️
Excellent food and service. Very convenient location as well. Their lunch specials are not to be missed. The Portuguese wines are divine.
I love the food, specially the picanha, wine, and deserts. Great service too. Totally recommended.
It's always going to be a 5 star rating for this fine establishment because food is incredible and service is outstanding, time after time. I got to try the octopus in oil and white wine sauce and I wasn't disappointed. Perfectly cooked octopus, very flavorful all due to wine sauce and olive oil with a hint of garlic. I had to have the seafood rice again because I couldn't get enough of it last time I came here about 10 months ago. You get treated like family when you visit this joint and they make sure you feel special and taken care of. They're doing some minor work on the outside to make it more private but it's such a nice little cozy space outside that it feels intimate even though you're seating close to sidewalk. This has become one of my favorite hidden gems in Miami so keep it on the low low lol.
Highly Recommend! We live a few minutes away from this restaurant and passed by it many times. We read the reviews online and decided to try it out. The service is impeccable, with the owner being very warm, attentive, and treats the customers like family. The ambience is very relaxing and we lost track of time having a warm conversation in their outside seating area. The food is very tasty, we love the octopus, grilled lamb and cod. Great selection of wine. The chef visited every table to make sure the food was good. We can't wait to come back.
This is my favorite hidden gem! The food was so flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend the seafood paella and grilled octopus. The wine selection is authentic to Portugal and the waiter gave wonderful recommendations. Chef Gattorno came to our table to say hello and we admire his passion and expertise in the Portuguese cuisine. Looking forward to coming back!
Just curious, where is the Paella? Pretty much a standard at a Portuguese restaurant, like big Mac at McDonald's...the 5 stars are merely to see if you read your reviews....good luck, chef
Had a wonderful dinner with my sister for our first night in Miami together! We had never had Portuguese cuisine before and were delighted. We had the octopus and zucchini for starters, traditionally prepared Cod for the main, and Portuguese tarts with espresso for dessert! Every bite was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic, we felt so welcomed and taken care of! Great experience at a local gem.
This place was recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint! I had the octopus appetizer and cod as a main dish. The menu didn't blist cilantro as an ingredient...but there was definitely devil weed. The staff was great about it, though, and they really took care of us, making a new dish with no cilantro. We sat right by the live music when it started and it wasn't too loud! Win!
Braga is amazing if you’ve never had Portuguese food before, and you want to try something different, the bacalao is outstanding! I had the seafood parilla mixed grill Quality of the seafood was great. The flavoring was amazing. I can’t recommend this place highly enough my wife had the filet mignon. It melted in our mouths like butter. Warm and friendly servers, as well as a cozy and inviting atmosphere. If you don’t check this place out, you’re definitely missing out on a great experience!
Excellent service. Magnificent food. We ordered a seafood rice, octopus rice and a salmon meal. All were perfectly prepared with such generous portions that two of us shared. Highly recommend enjoyed way more than other Portuguese restaurants/ bakery cafes in the area. Not cheap but what is these days.
Nice place, tasty food, excellent attention. The waitress was very helpful answering questions and making suggestions. The appetizers (croquettes and octopus were very good). The fish soup excellent, all cod plates delicious and for dessert the pastries filled with warm cream (natilla) were the favorites of the table. Thanks for the "Porto"!👍🏼♥️
A really honest to goodness authentic portugese restaurant, with a real feel to actually being in Portugal. The menu is simple but simply delicious the wine selection is outstanding and the host was first class all the way!! An intimate setting just the right size that works perfectly. The attention is exemplary. My birthday dinner was definitely a wonderful and delicious and delightful experience. The dessert wine of ruby Porto wine was the final touch to a wonderful meal and evening . The chef makes his rounds and checks on every table. This shows the diner that every dish is created with great care . Definitely will go again and again.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!! Wonderful food, as pretty to look at as it is delicious!! We ordered a host of appetizers and a few entrees, everything so good!! Recommend mussels w/white wine, octopus, so yummy, seafood rice, and a cod dish with onions, potatoes and boiled eggs. On vacation- our host Mr. Braga could not have been more welcoming. This will be one of our stand out memories when we look back on this trip....coming from New Orleans we know good food!! Braga is a winner!
Excellent food and very warm service. Since discovering this gem of a restaurant, my husband and I go nearly every week. The food is delicious, we try to order something different every time we go, and have not been disappointed once. The cod fish dishes and rices are amazing. But then, so is the filet mignon and churrasco, the octopus, the clams, the sausages, and on and on. Then there’s Raul, aka Braga, the owner. He’s always ready with a warm welcome, and treats everyone like family, even on your first visit. As a matter of fact, we’re going there today, can’t wait!!!
Very well done food, one of the best octopus I have eaten. The portions are good; the service and atmosphere good, a quiet place located in a quiet place, like a hidden gem. I will come back.
The food is incredible, the place cozy and the service, quite nice and very welcoming. The owner comes by every table and makes sure everyone is enjoying their meal. You must try their cod in any of the different forms they cook it. Delicious! That and octopus are their specialty.
Love this restaurant! The food is delicious and is enough to give it 5 stars but what really sets Braga apart is the customer service. The staff and owner are incredibly nice, welcoming, and generous! We always bring our friends and family from out of town whenever we can. Highly recommend for some great food and friendly people.
This review could had been a one star review, but it wasn’t. Definitely I would recommend to make a reservation due to the place is not that big. I told my husband just to get an appetizer and then we will go somewhere else because I saw the place was small and we had a tvI in front of us,. However all that changed, after we tasted the food and experience an outstanding customer service not just from the waiter but also from the owner! Just wonderful. Will definitely come back! Thank you !
This is an amazing little Portuguese restaurant recommended by one of my Coaches. The owner waited on us and was super friendly and nice. He even gave us a free glass of wine for coming in. I highly recommend the bacalhau de natas. If you are ever in Miami stop in for a great meal and great service!!
My husband and I just tried this place and we absolutely loved it, we were driving and saw the name, it reminded us our trip to Braga and Porto, so we stopped and had dinner out of nostalgia, but surprisingly it went over our expectations, the food was just amazing, I had the octopus and my husband had the cod, we also had the 'Bolinhos de bacalhau' and honestly best we've had in Miami. The service was really good, we really liked the owner, very natural, spontaneous and attentive, we'll be coming back. (we want to try the lunch menu)
As a pickie eater that I am ,It was the best meal! The meat and chicken were delicious. The service was amazing. It is a small place but the atmosphere is very friendly It is a must
This place is a hidden gem in Miami. Family owned, true Portuguese cuisine. Fresh ingredients, amazing service coming from family and a small but mighty wine list will set the pace for an amazing but fairly priced culinary experience. 10 out of 10. Will be back for years to come...
This is our favorite Portuguese in the Miami area. They are a small place where everything is cooked fresh. I love all the dishes I tasted but the Bacalhau à Lagareiro and the grilled octopus are my favorites. And of course a chilled glass of vino verde! 😋
This place is amazing! The cod, the lulas and the Delicias de Fatima are unique and highly recommended! The service was very kind and friendly. I'll be back! Excellent experience.
Best bacalao in the city and friendly people at the service
Unbelievably delicious! The seafood paella was outstanding (& enough for 2 people). We also had the NY Strip & Filet, both cooked to perfection. The traditional Portuguese dessert is a must have. Service was excellent too. If there was any negative it’s that it’s on a busy street making it very noisy when eating outside but the food completely makes up for that. We’ll be back next time we’re in town!
Amazing Portugese food. Mouth watering. I will recommend anyone visiting miami to pay a visit. Totally worth it. The owner and the waitress is extremely polite, great customer service and no wonder why they have 5star reviews all across. We came in for the same reason and totally impressed by it
The Portuguese cod fish stew and the seafood paella were outstanding dishes. The fried cod (bacalao) fritters was an excellent start to a delicious evening. Idalis, the server, was attentive, provided an excellent wine recommendation, and very pleasant. Capped off the perfect evening with a flavorful custard, coffee, and a nice port—can’t wait to return to this wonderful Portuguese bistro.
Amazing service and delicious Portuguese food. Small place with a great and cozy environment. We ordered several options; rice with seafood, Bacalao, Octopus 🐙 , and some appetizers. My family and friends enjoyed the dinner and the good service. The restaurant also has a big variety of wines. We finished our dinner with an exquisite dessert chocolate mousse!! exceptional. Highly recommend Braga for a nice friends reunion or family celebration.
The Best Brazilian Food in Miami! This restaurant is an absolute gem! The food is authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious—probably the best Brazilian cuisine in Miami, if not in the entire U.S. From perfectly grilled meats to traditional side dishes, every bite is a delight. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The service is top-notch, and the restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail make this place a true dining experience. Definitely a 5-star restaurant that I highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back!
First time here...certainly not last. Braga is a city in Portugal, it's the name of the restaurant and it's the nickname of the manager of the place. Braga the manager, alone, is reason enough to come to this place. He's been a manager at many of the local Portuguese restaurants and is great at recommending wines and food. The octopus was good but, if you're looking for authentic Portuguese food, that is extremely hard to manage. This place gets close. What will keep you coming back is the quaint and lively atmosphere of the place. Oh, and...get the cod fritters!
I explained to waitress that I was in a rush with only 25min to spare and it was worth the random stop. The food was cooked quickly & it was surprisingly delicious. Though I was pressed with time & a bit nervous about parking at Fresco the quality is top notch. The restaurant is keep clean has elegant dinnerware & tablecloths. I'll be returning with more time so I can enjoy the variety of meals they offer. It's a small cozy restaurant & service is top notch. The small baguettes were fresh, no butter so you pour olive oil over them (even better). I had Churrasco with a small salad a glass of their House Red Wine from Portugal while my mother devoured the mixed seafood soup with same wine & boy was that flavor explosively fresh you'd say wow too! First time customer & will be returning. Give them a try. Nice place to go with a date. I visited on a Saturday around 5:30pm only 1 other couple inside & 1 customer outside. Check them out 😎👍🏼
Churrasco fantastic Wait staff charming Atmosphere so soothing yet exciting
The chivo at Braga was delicious —tender, full of flavor, and served in generous portions. Idalys, our waitress, was kind and attentive without being intrusive. There’s a quiet sincerity in the way they serve here—simple, quaint, genuine, and satisfying. A lovely spot to enjoy a comforting meal.
Fantastic restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional. We felt truly welcome and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Braga’s is an intimate place on Coral Way -- far more relaxed than a warehouse setting. I could actually hear every word from my beloved. The chef is a magician with octopus. I had the grilled octopus sauteed with olive oil and garlic and the octopus salad: simply fabulous! They paired wonderfully with a bottle of Portuguese green wine. And the dessert was memorable… pears poached in port wine infused with cinnamon. We’d never had it before and now intend to make sure we don’t miss it again.
Just had a delicious meal here tonight. Service was perfect. Personable and kind. First the garlic shrimp is one of the best we’ve had and we’ve been to many of the best Portuguese restaurants. The steak w/egg entree was delicious- perfectly cooked. My Portuguese husband had one of the traditional cod, dishes and thoroughly enjoyed it. We’re easy.from the west coast of Florida and come to Miami often to get some Portuguese food. We will definitely come back here the next time we’re in town.
Very authentic delicious Portuguese food and drink. We loved it here. I've travelled to Portugal quite a lot and the good here equals anything I've had there. The cod croquetas were delicious and the bean salad they came with was a tasty bonus. Then we had sardines (grilled to perfection and rivalling the best street grill restaurants we love in Matosinhos) and the Arroz de Bacalhau, which was sweet with saffron and the cod melted in the mouth. Then to top it off Pasteis de Nata for dessert, also the best I've had in a long time. The complementary glass of ruby port at the end sealed the deal. Oh and the wine! Another bottle of Muralhas Vino Verde next time we come too please 😁 If you're visiting Miami try to come, it's only a little hop from downtown on the Metrorail and a perfect lunch stop if you're going to Velázquez museum and gardens..
I was extremely sad that the other portuguese restaurant that I loved in coral gables closed. But then we found out about Braga and I have to say is just as good! The octopus is among the best I've ever had. The molotov for desert and the pastel de nata, both perfect. Definitely recommend it.
The food is incredible; every dish feels like it was cooked with real care, not just thrown together, and the flavors are spot-on. The service is just as amazing: warm, attentive without hovering, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they care. Great food, and that “I’m absolutely coming back” feeling.
Braga Portuguese Restaurant is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious full of authentic flavor and perfectly prepared. Every dish tasted fresh and homemade, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely a place worth visiting again and again. A true 5-star experience!
Great food!! Great service!!!
I was debating between 3 and 4 stars for quite some time, but I am going with 4 stars because I plan on being a regular here. One big thing that you just can’t overlook about this place is the awesome ambiance. I simply love the layout and/or ambiance that makes dining in a joy. I love the small size of the location and even more the outside seating area with an overhang to protect from the elements, it’s very cozy and you still get all the best aspects of dining outside. I’ve dined in twice now and both times I sat in the outside seating area and surely had a pleasurable experience both times. I’ll warn the service is much closer to 3 stars, although the main waitress is pretty pleasant and does a good job there, I did find myself waiting a little long for small things like water, and a couple small issues with my preparation standards i.e. the circle of rice from my “Cabrito Assado” was sort of lopsided and falling apart when they served it to me (reference photos), and one of my orders of eggplant to- go came a little less well done than what it should have been and with too much oil, however I will note that I just went in last night and the chef corrected his mistake with the eggplant and it was cooked much better. Aside from that the food ingredients do seem to be quality and really most of it is quite good. I do recommend the lunch special with each dish coming in at $18 and 2 for 1 on beer and wine glasses which in my opinion is a nice kind of quaint deal, perfect for a lunch outing, and again, you will be getting your moneys worth. Additionally I do like that the owner is in much of the time to ensure that things are being run to his standards and what he likes, it also reinforces the idea that you don’t have to look very hard to find the higher up management because so often he is there. Of the five times I’ve been in I have seen him three times and that includes when I just drop in for a quick to go order, so good on him for caring enough about his restaurant to be there often. To concisely conclude my review; I gave 5 stars for ambiance, 3 stars service, and more like 4 stars for food, with the ingredients having 5 star potential (especially compared to price) however the prep in some cases does fall just a little short, but generally nothing to scoff at… I will also note that it does tend to be a notch better during the day in my experience when it seems the more permanent staff is in.
We order octopus, 🍆 lasagna, and steam 🥔 it was delicious, large portions. Music on Saturdays add a special touch of Portuguese and Brazilian culture. Service was friendly and made excellent recommendations. We'll visit again.
Braga is a Portuguese restaurant located on Coral Way in Miami. The location is pretty central but parking is very limited and hard to find. The place is pretty average as far as atmosphere, with TVs hanging from the walls showing “fútbol” or soccer games. It’s pretty unpretentious. The food was ok, I was not highly impressed. The service was excellent and the waitress did go out of her way to provide excellent customer service.
Rating: 3/5 The food was okay but not great—especially the fish, which could’ve been cleaned better. The atmosphere felt cramped and not very comfortable considering the price point. Service was lacking due to not enough staff; it was slow and disorganized overall.
Everything else was pretty good but this entree for 35$ only came with 9 tiny shrimp, gonna have to order more food
The food was good, however the portion was not proportional to the price. I ordered the lamb chop ($38), it came with 5 tinny chops, more like a sample plate or appetizer, way over priced. I am definitely not coming back, too many good restaurants options in Miami than this one.
We had a very disappointing experience at Braga Portuguese Restaurant. We ordered a few lunch specials for our meal, only to find out later that lunch specials are only available on certain days. The waitress never mentioned this when we placed our order, and the menu didn’t specify it either. My wife was told later after the order was already placed. So we ended up paying full price. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, an 18% service fee was automatically added without any prior notice. There was no mention of this policy, and we were a group of only four people. Given the level of service we received—essentially just having our water refilled twice—this charge felt completely unjustified. As for the food, it was below average and definitely not worth the price. Overall, the lack of transparency, poor service, and mediocre food make it hard to recommend this place. We won’t be coming back.
The octopus was good the amount of the octopus is a joke for 26$ 50 dólar for abacslou croquetas and octopus🫣
