Capri Restaurant Miami Reviews
I had an amazing waitress and she made sure I was well taken care of. The food and service was amazing, there was no wait time to sit. Definitely try the Birria pizza, steak burrito, and tres leches! 100/10
Excellent service, awesome waiter. Well light cozy restaurant. The portions are huge like any Italian joint. Not the best clams casino but Ive also had worse. The Shrimp Dia Frivolo* sp was more spice then I could handle so I loaded it up with cheese the favor was great just caught my a little. The loaded potato soup didn’t disappoint, their house made blue cheese was also super delish. Unfortunately we were sooooo stuff we had to leave with out dessert.
5/28/21 Wife and I went back to Capri and I had Sausage, meatballs and peppers over spaghetti while wife once again went eith chicken cordone blue. This is by far the best Italian food I've ever eaten, hands down. Original review below. I Would go back in a second. Meals were excellent. Fettuccine with shrimp and Chicken Cordone Blue, servings were good sized. The rolls, salads and sides were great. Will recommend to my friends.
Best place in town. Walking threw dooor you realize every body knows who everyone is and they treat you, who they don't know, the same. The people, the food and most the parking lot. With an older lady hitting on me at the entry way and seeing the waiter bring a forgotten card to some customers. This place has all the feel of home with service that gives you a smile and feelings of being appreciated. Our waiter was so awesome he was the first server on our vacation to ask if we needed drinks as soon as we sat down. Confidently I would say that I have never had better Italian anywhere in the lower 48 states.
White linen table clothes illustrated to high quality of service & food in a surprising location of South Homested. A full parking lot was a good sign for an Esrly Bird menu to 6:30pm. We had eggplant parm which was big enough for 2 and the chicken parm which wrtr very well prepared.
Lady was our awesome server!! Atmosphere was dynamic even with a big party going on all the girls there help each other and the food was absolutely amazing since they changed their management!!! Definitely coming back again!@!! Thanks 😊
This restaurant is a very authentic Italian food restaurant with many options for vegetarian and vegan customers they have a wide selection of wines and champagnes their menu items are very good and are easily indulge. I recommend the fettuccine alfredo with chicken it comes with a side of your choice of a garden or Caesar salad or one of the soups of the day. Everything is made fresh including their appetizer witches their homemade bread. The bread is baked to Perfection and served warm. I highly recommend this restaurant with good portions for great price it's perfect for the family or meeting or banquet you want to go to they also have an outside Courtyard you could eat in during the day and right next door at night during the weekends there's a pub that usually have a band playing.
The Mexican restaurant inside the Capri is a must try. Clean, friendly service & delicious food for a very good.price.
Amazing place hands down best Italian restaurant I have been to in a long time!!! Great food amazing service and a very clean and welcoming atmosphere!! We will definitely go out of our way to come and eat here again! my entire family kids included were very pleased and left with a full belly!!
Enjoyed an amazing lunch here yesterday as we traveled past from our home in the keys. The salad, pizza, pasta, soup and lemon chicken buffet really hit the spot. Lovely staff and impressive history and tradition. Check out the pictures (spoiler alert - Ronald Reagan has been here) and old menu in the back lobby. Have been driving by for years - Glad to know about it now.
I had my daughter's bridal shower last Saturday and it was wonderful!! Thank you Dora, planner; Jim, the owner; and most of all Lauren, our server with all of my requests. The chicken parmesan was delicious even warmed up the next day!! The ladies loved the atmosphere of the room and how Lauren wanted to do nothing more than to please everyone. We love you all Capri employees and see you again for another delicious meal served with care!
our waiter was Lewis he was great! What outstanding service. Our food was outstanding! It was just as good today as it was 30 years ago. Thank you Jimmy for the great meal. The cook is a keeper.!
The service and food was incredible, this is truly a hidden gem. Best fried grouper and fresh spinach I've enjoyed outside my home. Definitely would highly recommend this beautiful, enjoying restaurant to all my family and friends !!!!
delizioso! I’ve been to Italy and this is on point. Often I am not real impressed with Italian food in America, but, sometimes you find a good one with an Italians running the restaurant and this is one. Good service, Good wine selection and great food. Waiter said pasta was made in house and you could tell. Everything was tasty and fresh. Stupefacente!
I absolutely loved this place! The best part was the “private” courtyard where we dined. I say private because we had the whole enclosed patio to ourselves. Even if it were full, it was a much smaller area than the large open dining room that gave off a cafeteria feel. They said it was too hot to sit outside, but we just finished snorkelling and were still a little wet and cold in the AC. We were told it was closed due to the heat but it really wasn’t that hot. After I was told no when I asked if they were sure we couldn’t sit there, we were told she found a waiter who would serve us there. Yayyy! Thank you!!! ❤️ Excellent service from this man. I didn’t catch his name but we definitely were not neglected by sitting in this remote and beautiful area. We were originally seated in the dining room, which was very open and plain, giving a look and feel of a cafeteria dining room. Not cozy at all and i would give one star for the atmosphere. We didn’t know about the bar until looking at photos online after we left. We definitely would have chosen the bar over the dining room. But the courtyard was so beautiful! Ten stars! Three stucco walls and an iron fence, all covered with ivy and two arched windows. Unfortunately, a third was covered with an awning as well as another on the street side of the building. Decorative iron tables and chairs, ours in the shade. It was as peaceful, quiet, and lovely. The food was delicious and for a good price. I would definitely go again when in the area and highly recommended it to anyone who loves pasta or even just excellent bread. I had fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and my girlfriend had baked ziti. They have the BEST bread I’ve ever had! Fresh twisted rolls with garlic and other herbs, and salt! Sooo gooood! We ate so many and took more to our hotel for our leftovers.
Ordered to go and was attended by three different people. The best pizza I've had in homestead and the food is fresh clearly not frozen and shipped across the country. I'd recommend this place over Mama Mias and way over Olive garden. If you want Italian give this place a shot.
This a classic "old school" finer dining restaurant. The building looks older from the outside, but there is great warmth inside. The waiter was extremely attentive and the food was excellent. The price was very reasonable. We arrived pretty casual after a day of diving in Key Largo, but had no problems getting served. They do have a more casual restaurant right beside this spot, so if in shorts and flip-flops, you can still relax and feel welcomed. I had the early bird prime rib, with a salad for $18, my date had the 6oz early bird tenderloin $16 and it was perfect. When I come back, I'm getting the steak.
Best place to eat at in Homestead. Delicious Italian food, impeccable service, reasonable prices. Eric was our server, and he was perfect. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was fantastic. We also had the terrimisu for dessert and it was some of the best tasting terrimisu anywhere. I highly recommend you give them a visit.
This place was a true experience! All of us loved our food and enjoyed the atmosphere! We were a large group of 10 and they were very accommodating. I highly recommend it!
Nice place to have some Italian good. It's a bit off the radar and it's got a very homey look to it which I think appeals well to the Italian restaurant idea. Good food, love their pizza! I like the fact that they have separate locations within the same restaurant. They have the pizza parlor family friendly section and they have the formal dinning section. It truly is a clever idea.
Frans was absolutely amazing! We are servers ourselves so we can be quite critical some times but he was in point! Very very kid friendly! Every time we go out to eat the server puts the plate in front of my 18 month old son frans knew not to! Once my son got tired he even offered to put 2 chairs together for him!! Best best service we've EVER had. The food was great as well we will definitely be back! Thank you again for a great dinner and wonderful service!
Great food, awesome service. Noisy group at the next table. There is no reflection on the restaurant, just one noisy patron.
This was a great dining experience all the way from the homemade fresh bread to the entrées and even the sour cream and salad dressings were homemade. The staff was absolutely fabulous and The price is very reasonable. I will definitely be making this a weekly excursion.
Dora, Oscar and Terry made my birthday so special this evening. The food was absolutely delicious! Thank you for being so kind and welcoming as always!
This food was outstanding! When I was in Florida which was a couple of years ago, I decided to go to this place. It was so mouthwatering that I couldn’t even finish the whole thing! I just decided to write a review for this place. Such a cute place overall! I had this veal and it was so delightful. Just like it should be.
We have been here for both dinners and a lunch. Good service and pleasant company,,excellent food served right We also attended a Special Valentines Evening back in the day. That was our 1We were back for our bi-annual or more visit. This place just gets better and better. Our 1st choice.st and very enjoyable visit .
Great food, great atmosphere and Tammy as usual is awesome server We love her she is very friendly and she introduces everyone at the bar. The dinning room is wonderful as well. You can't beat the food.
I have been eating at Capris for many years and they have consistently great food and wide selection. Their lunch buffet is AWESOME! A great way to have a quick lunch and wonderful, different selections every day - even just the salad and soup on the buffet is great. The serving staff work together at this family owned business. TOP NOTCH!!
Loved sitting on the patio as the sun was setting. Loved the chicken malenase. My husband ordered the Italian sampler which was pretty small but the taste was great. The chicken on the other hand was a large size portion. So I would have them work on consistent portion sizes.
A bit of old florida. New owners but it seems like it wasn’t changed. Delicious king richard’s steak ,caeser salad and potatoes
The restaurant was very clean, we order from the Mexican food menu and the food was delicious and big portions too. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back.
Was surprised. A beautiful resturant with wonderful staff. $100 for 2. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Treated all the customers equally even though we felt a little under dressed for such a nice place.
After years of driving by we finally stopped in, I only wish wish we had tried this gem of a spot sooner. Very nice, very clean, and the food and service (Luis) was very good. Very good prime rib with au puave side and the grouper was terrific. This will become a regular spot for us. A total shining star in a town with notoriously bad restaurants.
Delicious food! Excellent service, plenty of parking. Be there before 6:30 pm to catch the house specials. We love the MEXICAN side too!!! A Mariachi band will be perfect or live music for the ITALIAN side of the restaurant. We give you: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Contrary to some recent reviews, my wife and I had a great experience. Food was very good, service was perfect. I had the steak au poive, my wife had the broiled scallops. Everything was perfectly prepared. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. It was very nice to be in a restaurant that wasn't loud and noisy. We took a chance and we're rewarded with a very nice dinner. Oh, the rolls were great!
This is an old restaurant that has always had great food in Homestead sort of historical. Me an my wife went there on a Friday night for dinner I thought the place would be very busy but to my surprise it wasn't. I had the Delmonico steak and my wife had steak and lobster the food was very good and the service was good. This is a nice restaurant for the whole family a little pricey but it's worth it if you like Italian dishes and also pizza and steaks and variety of other dishes.
My job has our yearly dinner here and the staff is always on Point! Great place to host a large dinner with friends and family or even an event. Thank you Capri for all the memories throughout the years 🥳
Everything about this place was beyond my expectations. From the friendly & prompt service, the hot fresh buns, the butter, the appetizers, the entrees, the cleanliness. It was beyond what I had heard, always wanted to try them out. Will definitely be back. That Shrimp Marinara and Conch fritters, just wow wow wow. Mmm and those baked stuffed mushrooms 🍄, will make you a mushroom lover.
Capri has been around forever. It's a local mainstay in Homestead. It is under new owners, and there are some subtle changes in some menu items and some decor. It really needs a good interior overhaul, but the food is good and the locals frequent there often. From what I understood the pizza place will be reopening as well.
OMG, THEIR FOOD IS SOOOO GOOD, I got spaghetti and a bottle of CHIANTI. and hubby got the lasagna. I just wish they would serve their Italian dishes on door dash. THEY ONLY SELL MEXICAN DISHES ON DOOR DASH ... that's MY ONLY PROBLEM....
Great south florida italian hidden gem. My family has been coming here for years! Love the new ownership and concept. Great service from our waitress Leidy. 10/10
I have been there once but I had a great time. The server was very helpful when explaining the menu. He recommended the best dishes, I tried a pasta. They also had an offer of buying the entry and get a bottle of wine. After our dinner we went around and there was a room with Live Music.
Loved the Chicken Alfredo, portion was great, chicken succulent and juicy. Pasta was made with love <3 The staff were sincere and very polite! The inside atmosphere was peaceful evening dining, perfect for a romantic dinner!!
My family has been coming here for generations. They have the best food I’ve ever had anywhere. Dora is always our waitress and she’s so fantastic. We just love her. I hope for my daughter to be able to bring her children here too. Thank you Capri for decades of good food and good times.
Awesome environment. Great food. Good service.

His positive attitude and professionalism truly made our dining experience special. Thank you, Erick, for your excellent service — we’ll definitely be coming back! 👏✨
Just West of US1 on Chrome Ave this restaurant is a hidden gem! Our Italian style jumbo shrimp dishes were gourmet worthy. We'll be back!
A place that's relaxing and people friendly. A place where people are engineering ideas through conversations to make someone's day. One of the hidden Gyms of Florida City 🏙️ , Florida 🌄. 🍅🫑🍅🌽🍅🥒🍓🍍🍊🌶️🫛
We went to this restaurant for our Friday Night dinner crew. As always the food and drink were exquisite. Hidden Gem in Homestead.
AWESOME! nice food very homemade thats a plus.
I had the linguine with clams. It was delicious! My only suggestion would be to have some of the clams not in the shells. I always expect to deshell several, but not all. The wait staff was friendly, pleasant, and attentive. It had a mom & pop restaurant feel. Also a thank you to the staff member who walked me to my car since it was dark when I left.
This seems to be a very popular spot for the racetrack nearby in Homestead. The food is quite good and the service is also good. However the lighting was a bit bright for fine dining and the decor was outdated.
This was a great place. The food was excellent service was excellent and it wasn't too expensive. I wish I was a local so I could come back more. Nevertheless, whenever I'm back in Florida I'm going to find an excuse to come back down here.
Family-friendly Italian restaurant operated by an venerable local family with love and charm, offering consistent good quality and reasonable prices. Full service bar, plus craft beers, and a good selection of wines. Next door, the pub offer a casual atmosphere for enjoy a bourbon or beer with friends, along with good pub grub.
Our group has been regulars at Capri for years due to the variety and quality of the food and service. We reserved a table for seven this past Friday and were there on time and seated ourselves since we have the same table. Strangely, we waited and had to ask for menus. We got menus and the server dashed away without offering drinks. When he returned, he asked if we were ready to order our food. (Hmmm)We ordered both our drinks and our food and asked if the drinks could come out quickly. From that time on, all was well. When looking around we saw that the number of servers was low. Sign of the times. We will return and we hope the servers will too! Our favorite restaurant is still the best!
Fabulous food on recommendation of lovely ladies in Visitor Centre. Although we weren't in any hurry, the service lacked, sadly, both in attentiveness & speed. Waited ages just for drinks! However, would return if we were in this area again for the amazing steak.
The monthly group and more local partners came out today. I was introduced by my son, one of Ms. Jackie's supporters and a mother of one of the Retirees from Homestead police thanked me for my service. An honored to be a blessing opposed to put down, by jealous envious people.
We had an overall great experience here. Our server Eric was friendly and attentive and didn't rush our meal. We started with French onion soup and the caprese salad, both excellent. My Caesar salad was great, delicious dressing and not too much. My partner had a rare filet and it was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed stuffed shells which were delicious. The only thing I would change is the atmosphere. A little too brightly lit for an Italian restaurant, the Early Bird menus everywhere devalued the place, and they should space out the tables to make it cozier. The bar looked boisterous and full of locals which was cool. We will definitely be back
I like the food here, the service is great. This is the best pizza anywhere near the Homestead area by far in my opinion. It’s a little light on sauce for me but the crust is homemade and the prices are good.
A warm and stylish restaurant that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The lighting and décor are thoughtfully designed. Seating arrangements allow for privacy and comfort. Staff members are welcoming and attentive throughout the visit. The menu offers a great variety of tasty options. Each dish is cooked to perfection. Flavors are rich without being overpowering. Portion sizes are generous and filling. The calm ambiance enhances the overall experience. An excellent place to enjoy delicious food in a pleasant environment.
Very nice food, but struggled with service. The waitress we had was overwhelmed so it took her 40 minutes to get us drinks and take the food ordered. We had several tables lap us, always an indicator that things aren't so great. My first glass came with a lipstick-ladened rim. Requested salad dressing on the side. It was piled on top and drowned the vegetables. Seafood fra Diablo was nicely prepared and ample. So we're pizzas. Plenty of leftovers.
We ate at the pub which was turned out to be a bad decision. My food was really good but my friend's was cold. The worst part was the service. I asked for water when we arrived, which I never got. When we reordered my friend's meal she asked for rolls which the waitress also forgot until after the second meal was ready. I'm sure I'll go back since my family has been eating here since 1974 but, based on this visit, I'm pretty sure I'll stay away from the pub. Very disappointing.
Been here in the past and it was great. However my visit tonight wasn't so great. Service was extremely slow. Took 30 mins to get salads and the house salad was a few shreds of iceberg lettuce with 1 slice of tomato. My coworker didn't even get a tomato and her masala was cold. However, the french onion soup, chicken limone, and a gratin potatoes were amazing. I think the issues we had was mostly slow service and I get the feeling it's because the server does everything with no help from other servers like you see at other places. Ordered a piece of chocolate cake for $6.59 and it was half the size of what I got last year when I visited. It was really a shame but I'm hoping it was just a bad night. Server was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Will try again next year when I'm in town.
Nice people. A little pricey for early bird dinners. Had chicken parmesan. the chicken was great. Needed tenderizing in small areas but overall good. The sauce was mild and good too. The spaghetti wasn't anything special didn't like they kept putting people so close to us when there was sooooo much space to spread people out. Started feeling weirdly claustrophobic seeing all the unused space and many people in every space around me.
Was so looking to eating here, well let's start. The soup was amazing. Minestrone was great. Worth the trip really. After that, not so much. So don't know who dropped the ball but, after the soup it was over 30 min till our meals showed up. Before I describe what came out, let me give you some back ground, I am a classical trained chef. I have worked for serveral 4 star restaurants, I only cook for family and friends now. I also believe that making something from scratch is the best way. I cooked prime ribs every weekend for several years. Also worked with chef James Mulandro cooking some of the best italian food ever in florida. So when I say I know what went wrong I am speaking with a high level of understanding from a kitchen and chef perspective. My prime rib was cut and sat in the kitchen under a heat light for the 30min we waited, how do I know. Well I ordered it rare to med rare. Was told can only do med rare. It was med well, grey and dry on the outside which is what happens when you put it under a heat lamp. Wasn't even asked if everything was okay, food was dropped off and waiter ran away. Now on to my wife's plate, the sauce was okay, not great, not overly awesome, just okay. I would say olive garden does better. The chicken she had was over cooked, the stuffed shells were bland. I would say if you want to experience a restaurant stuck in the 90s with recipes to go with it this is your place. I have always heard such good things about this place and was excited to try it. Maybe that's why I am so disappointed with the food. It did not live up to expectations. 3 stars only cause the soup was good. Btw if the staff read this. Instead of standing around and watching your wait staff run like crazy, see if you can help, your standing watching for the 30min my food died is probably why I won't be back.
After our trip to the Everglades we were looking for a nice dinner place and came across this one. The food was good, however the entire experience of our dinner was unpleasant. We were sat at a table and asked for drinks, when asking for lemonades they waitress declined, they didn’t have any of that and referred to their menu. There were only alcoholic beverages listed and as we did drive we didn’t want any of those. She didn’t mention that there were any other beverage to us, however other customer got the regular drinks served as well.(coke, ice tea, etc) After ordering our food, (we wanted a light dinner, pasta and a big salad with sides) our waitress got increasingly unfriendly. Remarkable as there wasn’t much kindness to begin with. The Entrée salad was brought with the starters and it wasn’t even asked how we wanted our food served, as the waitress barely had any time for us and flew past our table to serve a larger group, who got more attention as they ordered a larger amount of food. After the check came, she literally ripped the check book out of our hands, barely leaving us time to check the balance. No goodbyes and thank you’s whatsoever. We won’t come again.
Take out was ordered by my son. When he got home with the food the $27 seafood pasta dish did not have the spaghetti that you poured your seafood over. I called the restaurant at 9:10 and no one answered the phone even though online it states that they are open until 10:00. I left a message for the waitress whose name was on the receipt. I received a call back immediately from her. Apparently they close at 9:00. I was told that because a bake potato was ordered that she did not put in the pasta. I asked why would she do that. The bake potato was for me to go with my Caesar salad. Defending what she did went on and on. I finally stated that pouring a $27 meal over a bake potato when the menu clearly states that it's a pasta meal did not make any sense. An offer to replace the meal the next day was made and accepted. It was the right thing for her to do. Our entire meal cost my son $65. What I learned was that the prices Capri restaurant has online is completely different from what they charge you so beware. For us it was a $9.00 difference. Quite a bit!!!
Never ot to order my food. Sat at the bar. Ordered drinks. Appetizers and after asking to place my order three times I never got to order food. The appetizers were pretty great I assume the food would be amazing. We will never know. I got my tab paid and left. Great drink mixer tho. Made me a custom drink. Spot on. Wish she had worried more about her job and less about the rat invasion and beating up someone who caused her problems happening in her business. Seemed the locals who were well known got great customer service. Tourists run.
Went there last Friday night. Been going there for over 20 years. Really disappointed. Our meal was cold, service was fair at best. Our waitress was in the weeds. Going back Tonight for one last time. Will give a new review after dinner. Hope things are better. I really like the place.
This used to be our go-to restaurant in Homestead and always had great food and service. This visit however was disappointing. The server was very nice and attentive, didn’t really know the menu, but the food simply wasn’t up to the quality of the past. The Veal Florentine came out floating in water (spinach water? ) and had no flavor. My husbands tenderloin salad was better, but no dressing came out with it and we had to wait for the blue cheese to be brought out. Also, tell your servers in advance items not available if a wine is not in stock don’t bring out an alternate before asking the customer. Hope the next visit is much better.
Food wasn't all that. Had the stuffed shells... it was missing something. Not saying it was bad. Just saying it didn't had that "yumm" flavor
Sorry but the food just simply wasnt good. Does not taste like Italian food… no bueno
A little disappointing. They were unprepared for an event that happens every year. Our bill was rather high for a market price prime rib that was way over done and a New York strip that was tough and no taste. We waited 30 minutes to even be served and the busser got us bread after I asked because we were so hungry. Our server, Eric, was wonderful after he was able to catch a breath to even take care of us. The money we spent was unreasonable after what we experienced plus the quality of food. UPDATE 2023 This year was no different regarding food and service. This restaurant is clearly unprepared to take care of large events. Management may think they are but they are not. For any large event, extra staff should be hired so that the servers are not overwhelmed with chaos which BTW was overheard from one of the staff saying that night was chaotic. Our waiter took our order and completely disappeared without any notice. Our salads were brought before our appetizers. When questioned, the response was like "Oh...you ordered appetizers?" We canceled that part of the order. The $40.00 prime rib was way overcooked and sent back only to receive another that was unbelievably tough especially for a prime rib. The chicken francese was tasty but sadly the pasta was served with meat sauce. Who does that? When I mentioned it I was told it will only take a minute to switch it. Great. I was going to just accept it but let her take it. When my pasta arrived it was "SWIMMING" in lemon sauce and completely unacceptable. Did I eat? Of course I did...after I drained it. The whole meal was a disappointment but strangly enough, no surprise. I am thankful for food. This is not being written by a person who is intolerant or fussy about food but when you have a night out and are spending a lot of money, you hope for a nice time without worrying about what is being served. I will never spend another penny at Capri restaurant in Homestead, Florida.
There was 9 in our dinner party and had a reservation. Got our drinks. After 15 minutes the menus came. Bread and salads 10 minutes later. Food was good waitress needs improvement for the place not being busy for a Friday nite. Have to think about ever going back
The service was great; the food, on the other hand, was not prepared the way I wanted it. I ordered a prime rib, and it was sent back twice, and ot wa a still wrong. They nee a another cook their; like yesterday.
Hopefully this place can get back on track with the new management. We were considering hiring them as a vendor for our wedding rehearsal dinner next year and wanted to give it a shot. Boy oh boy are we glad we did... Damp smell upon entry with a "Gator Bites" special advertised. Not fitting for Italian at all but then again it is Homestead FL so we gave that a pass. * Minestrone soup - 👎 * Fried Calamari - Frozen, tasteless, and the sauce seemed canned/jarred. * Salads - Never brought out even after mentioning they never came out. Same with straws. * Chicken Francese - Almost not edible. Sauce was bitter, batter was off, and chicken was tough. * Side of pasta with red sauce - Hard NO. Never do this one...ever. I rank Ragu above this sauce. * Baked Ziti - Acceptable but definitely not a wow dish I honestly have no idea how the 4 star rating is there but trust me it's fools gold. I am picky with sauce and Italian in general, but all 3 of us were totally agreed that this was not somewhere we would ever return to, host our rehearsal dinner at, or recommend. I hate crushing a place like this but a long time employee was boasting pretty hard when we arrived, and by the end of the meal, all we could say was "it was alright" when asked so we could get out of there as quickly as possible. Hoping they can turn it around with new management as they have potential with very limited competition in the area.
The service was excellent, and the food presentation was nice. But overall, the food was off. Everything I ordered was missing flavor. The Cesar salad didn't taste like Cesar salad, same with the French onion soup and lasagna. The only meal I got that was decent was the chicken parm.
If you even edible “Italian” food, just go up the road to Olive Garden. This place truly sucked. You enter the building and it’s extremely dark. You’re in a large dining room with out of date seating. Our waitress was rude and not enthusiastic in any way. I got the shrimp scampi and it was the worst $26 I’ve spent while being down here. The noodles tasted super watery like they had been left in a pot all day. The shrimp had no flavor. There was hardly any sauce in the dish. Which is a shame because I was hoping to dip my rock hard garlic roll that was purchased from Walmart in the sauce. The caesar salad also was bad. Super wilted and didn’t even have a caesar dressing taste. I paid $120 for a group of five of us tonight and it should’ve been about $20. The local Fazoli’s at home is better than this garbage on a plate.
Staff was mediocre at best and all of the food was bland. Wife had steak and shrimp and the meat was dry and overcooked. I ordered the seafood with linguini and definitely appreciated the salt and pepper shakers at the table to help flavor the meal. Would not return.
Went here because we were traveling and this place had great reviews. Sorry to say worst dining experience we have had thru our travels in Florida. Waiter was horrible they were out or prime rib and the wine I chose. Started with caprese was the only thing good during our dining experience. Salad came out was a bowl of rinds and romaine roots was total garbage not something to have been served. Ordered the filet it came out by itself nothing else on the plate which is weird. The server forgets my baked potato and when reminded to bring it, it comes out and looks like it was from yesterday. After this I just had to talk to the manager it was a calamity of errors and horrible food. At first the manager didn’t seem to really care about what I was saying but at some point she came to the table to make things right and discounted our bill which was appreciated. Tonight we came to LongHorn Steak house and they surpassed this place by miles. Sad to say but this place wasn’t worth the time we gave it.
Absolutely the worst service we have EVER experienced!!! If you are not a local or regular do NOT go here!!! We were sitting at the next table over from the owners. Serving the owners was MUCH more important than serving a paying customer. 1st off the menu clearly says if you order a seafood dish you get a choice between soup or salad, spaghetti AND a potato, fries, baked, etc. My husband ordered shrimp scampi, listed on the menu under seafood. Seafood dish right? Not if you ask the rude waitress who served us, she asked if he wanted angel hair, spaghetti or linguine to which my husband replied spaghetti. The server then proceeded to got visibly angry at my husband for asking if he also got a choice of spaghetti or a potato. She angrily said, NO the scampi is served with a pasta so you don't GET another. 2nd, It was so bad that the owners food was served before ours, even though we ordered first. 3rd We had to ask for the bread they said would "be right out". 4th the other server had to take care of us, because our original server refused to serve our table, other than delivering our main entrees. Deeply disappointing!! When you see a restaurant has been in business since 1958, you expect great service and great food. We got neither!! Shrimp scampi was boiled shrimp swimming in butter, no garlic or seasoning. Zero taste other than butter. I ordered The Sandy which was described to be 5 large grilled shrimp served on a bed of sauteed spinach. Tasted more like 5 shrimp boiled or broiled, not grilled and was served on spinach that was no where near sauteed, more like steamed with no seasoning. Bland, bland, bland.
I wish I could give this place higher than 1 star but I just can't. Our waitress was excellent, but the food was terrible. I ordered shrimp scampi and it was very bland. My daughters ordered pizza and salmon over linguine pasta and it was disgusting. If anyone ever thinks about eating here please run in a different direction. The prices are not worth the gross food they serve.
Seated outside, was ignored for so long, I called them to let them know I was seated and no one came back for over 20 minutes (about 24). They said they'd send someone right out. 9 minutes later I left, having still not even had my order taken or given a glass of water- just a seat and a menu about 30 minutes before- and it was not even busy. Not sure what happened, but incredibly insulted. Wrote this as soon as I got back to wifi.
I have no idea why this place has such a great rating. I ordered the lasagna which was microwaved and tasted like old leftovers left in the fridge for a month. It was disgusting. The same goes for the meatballs. They were gross. I felt like vomiting after eating here. On the plus side the service was ok and the place itself does have some rustic charm to it.
Overall, my family and I have been here a few times and for the most part, service and food has been very good. Based on this last visit however, I will no longer be eating here again. I understand every place has an off day.... Overall, the food we ordered was very bland with no flavor. My kid's chicken came out basically poached, not grilled. My wife's pasta literally came out more like soup. And the caesar salads tasted like straight oil! My entire issue was the waitress brought the owner over because of the issues. The owner then comes back after notifying him and acknowledges to us there were issues with the food....and that was it. No offer to resolve anything. This place is expensive and for the money I spent and to receive no consideration for a resolvement of known issues with the food I received by the owner himself.... fool me once...
We ordered 2 entrees with soup and garlic rolls. The food was tasteless at best. The servings were very small. They gave us 2 soups. Each soup was a 1/4 cup. The garlic rolls tasted like they came out of a frozen tube and sprayed with salt water before baking. My daughters made me promise to never ever order from that establishment again. Our first order was our last...
Walked in, seated in a couple minutes and then ignored by everyone for almost 15 minutes. No one came over, not even to take a drink order, even after trying to wave someone over, so we walked out.
Went for an event here and had the most disgusting food with most disgusting service to match. The server had an unnecessary attitude and seemed very bothered. She yelled at my partner for asking for steak because they apparently “ran out”. During the speeches she didn’t care to whisper but was rather speaking loudly, interrupting the event many times. Food was bland . VERY bland. If this was the last restaurant open in Florida city I would rather starve .
I read the good reviews and I decided to take my Mother and Daughter for dinner, we had the absolute worst experience. Upon entering it felt as if we were profiled by the staff, don’t know if it was because we were under dressed to them (no dressed code listed on the website) or because we are Hispanic but we were treated differently from the rest of the patrons who were Caucasian. There was a older gentleman who appeared to be the General Manager who approached every table to ask if they were doing well, expect ours. When our food was brought to us, my Mother’s steak was not cooked to the temperature she requested, we had to send it back but worst of all my steak had a hair on it. When I called the waiter over, he took the plate back to bring me a new steak. The General Manager who was by the kitchen door appeared to ask him what happened and didn’t bother to come to our table to apologize or offer anything to rectify the situation. When the waiter returned with my “new plate”, they had the audacity to bring me back the same plate with THE HAIR STILL ON IT!! When I pointed it out to the waiter, he had the nerve to say there was no hair on the plate, I literally had to put it in his face! He once again took it back. Pretty sure he brought me back the same steak. The steaks tasted old. The food was nothing special. No one apologized, no one offered a discount for the horrible service, the GM stood there and didn’t even come speak to us once, despite being made aware of the hair on my plate, he just stood there and did nothing. When we left they literally locked the doors as soon as we walked out! We felt we were definitely discriminated against. I was appalled at the horrible service we received, we will never return to this establishment and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to visit this restaurant.
I thought the pick up service was horrible. This company charges an additional 1.00 per foam container they provide for your to go orders. Plus , when I called said they’re menu hadn’t been updated in 18 years? What???? My steak dinner was listed for 19.00 on line but when I picked it up it was 26.00. I asked for a loaded potato and the add ons were 5.00 extra. I do not recommend this place. Very unprofessional.
