Grove Bay Grill Miami Reviews
Great location for this restaurant. I love that it's in a more low key area but with an exceptional view. It's great for boaters who go in and out. After a nice day out at sea it's nice to come back to a nice warm meal with some beer and good tunes. My favorite is the view of the sailboats. Food is good and beers are great. We had a pitcher of blue moon, Turkey club, fish n chips, burger, blackened chicken sandwich & nachos for about $80. Great service from the host and server.
Superior to Scottys. New management and menu. Great atmosphere on the Bay. It is finally what Scottys never could achieve. A bit pricey but rather affordable compared to most places in Miami and the Grove. Drink beer. The bar has a stingy bartender.
Dolphin sandwich was spot on. Good Burger. Friendly staff, the host was super accommodating with table selection. Due to construction, park by city hall and cut through the marina. Would go back.
This place has a very nice view food is good but limited on the menu is a place to hang out check out the scenery and much on good food.
Great place for a quiet meal by the ocean. Price are reasonable and staff was delightful, I will come back every time I can.
Great food and stuff, 8 types of draft beer, big and tasty cocktails. Great she crab soup!
Awesome food, great friendly staff and my favorite part.. affordable! We will DEFINITELY be back!
beautiful views....it is located at the harbor...it is near to pier 9....food is awesome....
This is the best place and real "vanguard" with ocean view. Best for locals...better experience for tourists. Hope it will last another 20 years.
Great place. Came in on a Sat. Great drinks, great nibbles, and Tom was great as well.. Top spot by the marina.. 😎👍
Excellent view , good food, live music, nice staff. This is an easy going place where you can relax and have a light lunch or dinner. I love it!
Great service and great outdoor bar/restaurant on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove. Right on the water with great views and covered seating. Reasonable prices on seafood/bar menu with full bar.
Try the stilts ville on draft. Great beer. We had a live band and a beautiful breeze. The long necks clams and white whine sauce was a tasty dish.
This is where locals hang out! Service can be slow but always friendly! Food is average. But there's something about Scotty's, maybe its laid back humble atmosphere, that makes us go back there.
Amazing little gem, its appearance is very simple and humble but everytime I'm in Miami I make sure to come down here, the seafood is fresh, the beer is cold and the views are to die for... highly recommend
Right on the water with views of the islands; a slight breeze cools the nights. Good food for a reasonable price. Casual atmosphere of locals - great place if you want to get a feel for Coconut Grove.
Simple facility with a wonderful view. If you wish to relax after a day on the ocean this is a wonderful place. It is not completely inexpensive but well worth the prices. The staff was attentive and polite. Very enjoyable.
I have been going to Scotty's Landing as it was named before for over 15 years. There is no other place in Miami where you can be so close to the ocean. Yesterday I was so pleased to experience they have retented their ceiling, revamped their menu and offer a superb service. We had a server named Tom and he was very pleasant and attentive. The fish tacos and seared tuna were great, a must experience if you love the ocean It is know new administration and it named Grove Bay Grill 😍
Amazing amazing amazing! Everything was delicious from the smoked fish dip to the seafood platter. We had a party of 10+ and everything we ordered we all loved it. Our waiter James was on the ball! He was nice and attentive. Blackened dolphin/shrimp was seasoned perfectly. Dolphin fingers - delish. Lump crap cakes - OMG. Good grilled dolphin sandwich. Good fish tacos. Calamari perfect. All and all this place is definitely worth it...it use to be scottys landing...definitely will go back
Grove Bay Grill has the best authentic fish or shrimp tacos. Scenery is fabulous. Host and all the way to Management are very friendly. Had a beautiful time with my family.
Beautiful views. Outdoor seating awesome. Lighting creates a very cozy ambiance. Reasonable prices with a full bar. Live entertainment on weekends.
Very rustic piece of old Florida that will be torn down sometime in early 2018. Used to be Scotty's, it is certainly a lot less crowded since he left. Right on the water with views of the marina and Key Biscayne in the distance. Food is decent, the service lately has been excellent, though in the past it would get pretty slow when they were busy. Live music (quite loud) on weekends.
Simple but good! I love Grove Bay Grill for an easy afternoon lunch. The view is always beautiful and even on hot summer days it manages to have an ocean breeze that lets you enjoy. They usually have a live band which makes it kind of fun. As far as food is concerned - I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t like!
A little bit difficult to find the place for first timers, but the place is good. Decent view of the marina. Tacos seemed to be the things that was ordered the most. They could use a course in cocktails, but the food quality and view makes for all of it.
Was recommended this place by neighbors down here. It couldn't have been more perfect. A terrific, laid back vibe with great food, love music, and friendly staff. Some highlights--first and foremost the She Crab Soup is to.die.for. just the right balance of cream to soup base and lovely crab meat. Additionally the nachos and seafood platter were great for the table. Give this tucked away gem a chance. You'll be glad you did.
Scotty's has been replaced, in theory. I'm pretty sure some of the staff are the same, as is some of the menu items. However I think the food preparation is better! The views are certainly great as usual and they have cleaned up the bathrooms a little. Listen, we like it here! Good food , great views, decent service.
My brother had an after party here following his wedding/reception. It is VERY casual (A lady had her fluffy labrador lying down right next to her at the bar), outdoor seating ONLY right on the dock facing a gorgeous view of the water. It was VERY busy and lively, with friendly bartenders and live music. I had drinks and appetizers. Their hot wings are delicious, their mixed drinks are yummy too. Awesome view, lively crowd, good food. I can't wait to visit again.
Great day, great lunch on the bay! Not that we wanted to hurry today, but service was attentive and delivery were prompt. Props to our waiter Wittmar and the couple of managers who were keeping things running smooth (like stopping a guy from smoking his cigar). Fish tacos were great, the fresh dolphin sandwich was moist and tender, and the real key lime pie was as good as we've had. We liked it when it was Scotty's but think they've stepped it up a bit as Grove Bay. Good job, we'll be back.
Have been coming to this fantastic hidden place for years. Not for the quality of the food but for the setting and great atmosphere. Last time we came, my wife and I found the food much better than in the past. Everything was served hot, tasty and well cooked. I really recommend this place, if you can find it...
The food was amazing, the Caesar salad, the fish tacos, and the onion rings. We don't recommend the chocolate cake. We had an excellent server, the food came really fast. the comments below were fake news don't read the bad ones everyone should come in and have a great time, enjoy the view and the live music. we are definitely coming again !!! We got a free key lime pie which was AMAZING
Se come bien.
The place is located next to the Marina, so you get to see the boats going back and forth. Good views and ambiance, and the live music sets a good dining mood. The food is appetizing and the portions are more than enough. Service could be slightly improved though, it was not a busy night during our visit and I feel we could have gotten a little more attention from our server. Other than that is a very relaxed place. A lot of construction around at the moment, so look carefully for the entrance. The restaurant is also pet-friendly so that's a plus.
This is a classic place in the miami bay shore. The environment is that of a fisherman's restaurant, very enjoyable and friendly. The menu is somewhat limited in its fish options though, and i expected a little more variety in seafood. However what we had was fresh and tasty, a little on the spicy side. The tacos look amazing, I will give them a try next time around, the burgers also look tasty but I normally don't eat burgers when i'm eating by the sea. All in all it was an enjoyable experience in a great environment.
Good food, a little on the expensive side IMO but good taste as well as a nice view of the bay. They do play the music kind of loud and it’s annoying when you’re trying to eat, but we asked the waiter to lower the music and he came thru for us. Overall it’s a good place to go.
Nice place to have a drink and some snacks. Good prices. The service is not really good, but at least you enjoy the views.
Live band was nice. Relaxing place to have drinks and a good time with family.
Great view and Saturday night live entertainment. Beer could be colder(nobody has ever complained about beer being to cold). Chicken was a little dry(?). Would go back, maybe no chicken.
Awesome view, ok food and service. Seems to be a local dive bar, but definitely worth checking out. The food is a step up from bar food but a step down from restaurant quality. Service is ok, depends on the server that you get.
Good restaurant for outdoor casual dining, good fresh sea food specials. Nice view although a little noisy. Average service, you need to know where you are going as it is hidden behind warehouses.
Good food with a great view. They had a hard time with trying to figure out how to accommodate our large group. So possibly call head if you have 8 or more with kids.
Great view! Food is excellent but service is just okay. Very casual place to enjoy lunch or happy hour.
Cool little place by the water, will be better once the construction going on around it is done. Decent beer, good food and good service. I'll be returning in the future.
Nice place to go on a pretty sunny day. Good food; good service....Highly recommend it, especially if you're here on vacation. Nice way to experience Miami without being in Miami Beach.
The service was great. Very fast and the food was EXCELLENT! Good place to bring your children. The view to the water and boats is beautiful. Music a bit loud but pretty good. The only issue i believe folks will have is its location. It suts like waynin the back where the pier sits and it cant be seen from the street. Got to look for the big sign with the name in it. Againfood was excellent!
Took my family for lunch, and loved it. beautiful views, cool breezes and good food. Kids had burgers, and wife and I had the grilled mahi sandwiches. Draft beer selection was great, including Guinness and Sweetwater brewery out of Atlanta! Had the conch salad as well, nice texture and taste, seemed to be very fresh! Service was great, wiaters were hovering nearby to see to our every need...my beer glass was never empty!
A place I knew best as Scotty's. Beautiful setting. Okay food. I was there with great company, a long time friend. Go quickly, before it's demolished for a big new development!
It can be very hard to find this location, but it is worth the effort because it's one of the few somewhat affordable seafood locations in South Florida. The main reason to go is obviously to see the Bay from your table. The seating is all outdoors so you're going to have a few birds flying around you as you're trying to eat, but they're generally somewhat friendly. I am a fan of the fish dip and the conch fritters. My wife loves the fish tacos from here. The most Miami thing to eat is the dolphin, but sometimes it's a little dry when they cook it. It can be hit-or-miss. Another reason you may want to visit is because you're allowed to bring your dog.
Nice view. Food was decent enough. I had a burger and it was good. Plenty of parking although you have to walk through the marina. Service was very good and attentive.
Nice waterfront location but it's in a very commercial area. Very casual. Food was good. I had blackened fish n dad had fish n chips which were nice n crispy. Service was prompt n friendly. Only issue is they allow smoking in the outside dinning area. Yuck.
Great place to relax on. The view is so nice and easy to be sitting to long. The facility is little worn out, but food and drinks help you to forget that fast. The staff was little hard to get, when the place was full of customers, but polite and service minded.
Service and food were good. The conch fritters make a great start and arrived fresh and hot. Seating is very uniform under the shelter, so it gets a little tight for parties over four people.
Definitely a great spot to make a stop in Miami, the place is located in Coconut Grove. Great waterfront view and nice ambience. The food is very simple but fairly good. Highly recommended if you dont wanna spend a ton of money but still enjoy a nice view.
Nice relaxing marina side restaurant. Great dishes. It's a shame the water in the marina isn't clean, would make for a far better experience if it were. But that's no fault to Grove Bay Grill (formally Scotty's).
The food is nice, the tacos are awesome and the view is great. But the service was bad. Our waiter didn't bring us napkins, catchup or mustard. and was always going away before we finish our order. Also didn't bring refill nor asked if we need more beer. And we ordered a well-done hamburger that arrived raw in the middle.
This a great place for a boater and someone who just wants to hang out. The food is OK and the prices are fair. Service is standard. This is not a place where your gonna go to all dressed up. Its a casual hangout outside with sandals kinda place. Hard to find if your driving to it.
Food was delicious! Great views of boats going by, and it was a cute place. When we went, there was no blender so we didn’t get to try their specialty drinks that we wanted (bummer). Very chill place. Our waiter seemed to almost hate his job though, and got our orders wrong. Doesn’t sour me to this place though, food and atmosphere is worth it enough to come back.
Great local pub and grill to grab a cold beer or an order of Fish N' Chips. This place is quite the hidden gem in Coconut Grove. It's located behind the marina, right on the bay, so you can sit by the water and watch boats go in and out. It's a relaxful view of the ocean. Their food is always delicious, and I had no complaints whatsoever. A tad bit overpriced for the kind of place it is, but their food is still outstanding, so you can't really complain. Customer service can be a little more attentive but overall, they did a great job. The outside patio can use some restoration like the tarp above that is ripped open, making rainy days in this place almost impossible. People would have to move tables to find any shelter left. Other than that, those are the little things that led me to giving a rating of three. If the ceiling is fixed, along with other needed restoring, and spicing up their customer service, then this place would be an outstanding 4 or 5. I do love this place and it's one of the last of its kind in this area of historic Coconut Grove. I hope they put money into fixing it back up! But do come here and sit by the water to have a bite to eat and a refreshing drink, you won't regret it.
Our ceviche and shrimp cocktail was very good made with fresh jumbo shrimp and beer was only $3.00 on happy hour. I think with some new patio furniture and a few updates to the place I would give it another star.
Fine but not great. Saw review that said this food is a step up from bar food but a step down from restaurant quality and I would agree. Had the mahi sandwitch it was nice but a bit dry. Tried some of the coconut shrimp that was good. Serive was verry slow
We waited 30 minutes for a table with nowhere to seat. We thought of getting a drink at the bar while waited but with only one bar maid and a full bar that was impossible. When. we finally sat, the food was mediocre, i guess you pay for the view. I'll go again only for the view.
Scotties was perhaps the first place I came to eat while in the Grove. I was walking around looking at the boats and found a bunch of people sitting under a tent eating and drinking beer. This was not what I was expecting in a place as classy as Coconut Grove, but I was nonetheless happy to find it. I sat at a two top and found my menu attached to my table by large clamps. Kind of strange but still fun, I fell like this is something Tim the Toolman Taylor would have at his bar. After spending some time looking over what turned out to be a fairly run of the mill menu I ordered the fish caser salad, and a glass of lemonade. I took a moment to enjoy watching the seagulls dive bomb plates of French fries and older ladies who couldn't eat their food fast enough. Its then when I noticed the view. Scotties is located on what could be one of the most breathtaking views of the bay. Ships out in the distance were floating by as clouds above head did the same. My drink and food came out shortly later and I began eating right away noticing a dark cloud of feathered thieves greedily eyeing my fish. Disappointingly the lemonade was nothing more then premixed product poured over ice. The salad was lackluster quality all around, leaves, fish, and dressing. I left feeling like I had come away someplace between a Alford Hitchcock movie and a re-run of SpongeBob square pants. The View is killer however. I know that I'll got back, but not for anything other then a cold beer (and they do have reasonable beer prices for Miami) and a great view of the water
Very sportish place, but the food is nothing special (mostly bar food) and the drinks arent particularily great. The service is slow and once served you will never see your server again. Its rather dirty with plastic tables. Super casual. Good for the music, the breeze and the outdoor style but not much else.
Food (cheeseburger and fries) was very good...bartender was nice, but not around. Had to wait and wait and wait for a drink...very frustrating... the behind the bar scene is pretty beat up and dumpy...probably nicer at night than afternoon. Place needs a makeover and would be a bigger goldmine. I will go again, hopefully better barmaid.
The whole allure is the location. Right on the water, the view is very peaceful and pretty. The food however, is meh. Chicken sandwich was still raw, sent it back. Conch Fritters were good. Service is kind of slow. Courteous, but slow.
The view was great, and the music as well. Our server had a nasty attitude with the other staff, and it dripped onto our service that evening. The food could have been better for the price and location. The dolphin was more like plancha chicken dipped in the ocean to resemble a fish. Also, they had no buns. Who doesn't have buns? Really simple stuff. I'll visit again, when the food improves. There are other spots that provide more for equal cost.
Had a good time because of the company I had, otherwise. The place needs a makeover. I understand it's difficult to maintain a clean food establishment near the ocean, however, based on the location. There should definitely be a better looking location. In addition, staff needs to sharpen up. It smelled like humid rag in most parts of the restaurant. The live music is great!
Nice view of the ocean, good food, but the wait to get your food was unacceptable. Took longer than 1 hour to just get our drinks, overall it was 3 hours and some change for what should have been a relatively normal lunch. Not sure if it was just because it was during a high volume time, but people that arrived before us were already eating when we had nothing brought over yet. Really sucks when that happens, so really bad management and table waiting organization.
Nice view, no waiting, fair service. Did not like the Mahi-mahi tacos. Not worth the price at all. Fried calamari were ok. My friend ordered fish and fries and did not like her Fish. Will not comeback.
Where to start...view is of marina mostly, not pretty yachts either. Food is ok, I think fast food is done better. Service is not bad, when there busy you have to wait loonger on everything. The bartender i had did not even give me my change back!! I mean come the freak on! Needless to say the decor made me feel like i was at a backyard cook out. I would not waste my time or money. Your better off going to a $$$ place or cooking yourself!
You’re really paying for the location. I got fish and chips which weren’t bad but I wasn’t happy that 3/4 of my plate was just fries and 2 pieces of small fried fish. If you don’t mind the food being over priced, then this is your place to go. Service was fine.
So very dissapointed. Great reviews but prices and service was horrible. The food was okay but we waited half hour for our drinks appetizers came out okay . Our waitress dissapeared. We waited 40 minutes between our appetizers and ordering our good. We could not even wave down anyone to get a drink while we were waiting. Never again!!!!
The location and the company I had last night are the only things stopping me from giving this place 0 stars. We had the worse service we’ve ever had at this location last night. Our server was not attentive of our table in anyway and still managed to automatically get his 20 % tip on our final total for 7 people. Even if I was the only person ordering pina coladas on the table he still managed to bring it to someone new every time. Not once did he asked how our food tasted and the empty plates were left on the table till we were ready to leave. My husband and our friend each got a clam chowder and it came out cold from the get go, he took it back to be microwaved and brought one of the chowders out 5 mins later and the other one took 20 mins to be heated. At the end we needed our bills split and he couldn’t remember what any of us had or even made the effort to try and split it for us, I separated it for him and even then he couldn’t get it right, I’d think if I asked you to split the clam chowders one on tab 1 and one on 2, that you’d do just that rather then create a new tab for them. It took us atleast 30 mins of chasing him around a very slow service night to get our bills and finally cash out. We’ve always loved this place but if he’s our server again we won’t be staying. Tip for next time, sell your table more drinks, we would have each had atleast 2 more if you had been around to take care of us. Not only will that make you more money but it’ll keep us engaged while we wait for you to make time for us.
This place is a dump and will be knocked down soon. The food is uneatable and the drink prices way to high. I give it 2 stars instead of one because it's outside on the water and has live music on Sunday. Good vibe but that's it.
Slow service and food was cold. I had ordered a grilled cheese and it wasn't even cooked, neither were the sweet potato fries. We had to get up and find the waiter ourselves to get forks and knives, ketchup and also for the check. Felt like it was being understaffed and a slow kitchen. Location and music was good and they allow pets.
Fish was really greasy (had the fish and chips), fries were horrible, the mahi sandwich was small and their bar looked crappy (I've seen home bars that looked better). The prices are decent and there's a cat that passes by and let's u pet it, and those are the only good things about the restaurant. Definitely not recommend.
I used to love this place back when it was Scotty's Landing. The place is in an amazing location and has great views, lovely live music on the weekends and a local crowd. But since they switched owners, a few things changed: now you have to wait to be seated and it takes forever, hostess forgot about us twice despite writing it down, asked for a table near the water, seated us on the opposite direction and right in front of the speakers when the music is really too loud. I really live the band but it is definitely loud. I asked for a different table, no way. Were out of coconut shrimp, out of clean silverwear, had to wait 15 minutes for ketchup... Anywho, I remember the better days and I'm sad that I fee like not going there so often. Oh, they fixed the roof, so that's good. Hope the service would get back to what it was.
Definitely not like the old Scotty’s Landing . From the entrance, to the service and nasty attitude. Don’t fall there a liability attorney would have a field day. Bus boy horrible , dropping utensils , spilling water. Waitress even worse , not friendly, ask for ice in to go cup and brings an empty cup. I’ll never go back . Run down . Looks like Scotty’s landings closed and the new owners took over and never even painted. Rusty, old & dirty. However the food is good andthe view is a 5 star !!! That’s it . Get it together Grove bay grill.
Scotty's was recommended by a friend. We all went there the other night. The view is unbelievable. Aside from that and allowing dogs (totally awesome) there isn't much else to say. The food we ordered was beach bar at best (thats what we were at right?). The prices seemed somewhat high for the type and quality of food we received. We also had a few drinks which, surprise surprise, no drink price list is anywhere to be found. Turns out, our bill for dinner plus drinks for this sea side shanty came out to over $100!! Three mixed drinks (doubles) came to over $40.....well drinks are not available. I could understand if this was out on SoBe or a higher class of food other than fried fish, but seriously. Needless to say, the other reviews about this place are dead on and judging by the crowd in the "restaurant" with us, Scotty's will be dead in the water in no time.
Great ambiance and lots of locals - seemed like a great place to eat. After serving our food late, we never saw our server again. We ate in the dark b/c lights didn't work in periphery tables even though there were strings of lights set up. We even had to look for our server to pay and an auto 20% was added when menu said 18% for 6 or more. Food was good when we got it, live music was a bonus, but service definitely an area needing improvement. Try sitting up at the bar if you eat here.
Used to be Scotty’s landing so maybe ownership changed but definitely food quality and service have changed. I’m not usually one to complain but we went on a Saturday afternoon with guests from out of town and service was horrible and slow. It took about 40 mins for appetizer and over and hour after that for our food to come out. I think they may have been under staffed but don’t think this should be an excuse since it was a Saturday. The food was okay, the beer we ordered in bottles were not cold so we had to send them back. Good views but sadly it was an overall bad experience.
Rum drinks were $9 and I watched the bartenders pour all of them. The first two were ok, the last one was poured with a half-measure. I would say "next time I'll hand the bartenders back their drink" but I don't think there will be a next time, as they also gave me soggy wings after asking for them well-done. All of these waterfront places are run by complete idiots who provide the least possible quality for the highest price. They think they've got you by the nuts, but Flanigans is right up the street, their drinks actually decrease in price on the weekends, and mistakes are exceedingly rare.
We order fish and chips and the fish was spoiled. They need to improve in their food. I been there before and the food was great don't know what happened to the quilty of the food. They need to bring back that passion they had before.
I have been going to Grove Bay Grill (a.k.a. Scotty's Landing) for 19 years. While the new owners have patched the roof, the rest of the experience has gone way downhill, especially the friendliness and the bands. I have sworn off my "go to" hideaway.
Horribleeee. I don’t get why so many good reviews. Seriously? The food was cold, the drinks? Ask for two shots from the beginning if you will have a drink...they take for eeeverrr no matter if is busy or not. Money is not an issue but horrible food. Is a never again from me and my family. 👍🏻
I've been going to this restaurant for over 25 years, I have to say I'm so disappointed. Not only am I sick for a day but the food was horrible. The crab cakes came out uncooked mushy probably what got me sick, the sweet potato fries were so soggy gooshy like they been sitting for three hours on the counter, I believe Dolfin was fresh but not sure because again I'm sick for 24 hours throwing up. I used to love this place when it was Scotty's Landing but it has really gone down hill. Clearly I don't want to go there again if I'm going to end up sick for two days spend $70 on lunch for two people. They got to do something over there it's becoming a dive they don't put any money into their patio everything is rusting the paint is peeling it looks like a dive. It's amazing they make so much money it was packed all day on Sunday but they don't invest anything back in their business. Stay away! Unless you want to be in bed like me for two days throwing up.
This use to be an amazing place to go and hang out or to simply get away from the fast pace world we live in. It’s taken me sometime to write a review because I really wanted to give this place a shot. So held my review until I visited at least three times. Sadly it got worse every visit. From service taking forever to food quality (frozen food in microwave I think) to the horrific waste smell and lastly to me getting ill on my last visit and had a horrific hives outbreak all over my body for almost a week (something that has NEVER happened). This could be such an amazing location but unfortunately it’s being driven to the ground. I simply think they just don’t care anymore, you can even see it on the review responses here as they all say the same generic thing “I’m sorry, we love to have you back”. Are you kidding me!? Guys get it together and when you make a revamp and market it for all to know you mean business, perhaps then I’ll return.
Visited this joint after the grove art show and thought, "oh it's scotty's lets go in". We were seated immediately even though the seating looked scarce. The Bloody Mary we ordered was bland and not garnished and when ask for garnishes was given a yucky looking celery stick that was the size of two glasses. Our server was not attentive at all. After finally getting our waters and ordering our meal we waited almost an hour for only 3 dishes, with our server not stopping to check on us until we finally had enough and asked the supervisor about our food. When the food finally arrived it looked like somebody had eaten pieces of our fried grouper and fries and spit it back out. Server was very dismissive and even raised her voice, bring more attention to the situation. I work hospitality and know how things run in the biz so this was unacceptable. Manager immediately brought us a fresh one in less than 5 min. As we eat, server was still no where to be found until she comes, drops off the check and walks away without a word about dessert or to go container. It's funny how I saw other servers more than I saw ours. I most likely would not come back here when I visit the grove again.
Unfortunately not as good as it once was. We were frequent patrons of Scottys and all the marketing the new owners or management used to say it was revamped made us curious. Came on Saturday...the music, the food the band, the food were all terrible. Terrible as in the actual dishes did not at all match the descriptions on the menus. The Sriracha Tuna Taco with island mayo, citrus slaw and queso fresco was just a taco with tuna, sriracha, shredded cabbage and cheese. No "slaw" (ie no citrus dressing) no island mayo- completely bland. The coconut shrimp were burnt beyond tasting the coconut, the smoked fish dip was mostly mayo with small bits of fish floating in it. They no longer have lanterns on the tables so you are eating in the dark. Had to use our phones to read the menus. The only positive thing was our server who was wonderful and the drinks. The waterfront location is all it has going for it and that wont last long. Saturday night at 10 pm and the place was empty save 9 tables. Monty's meanwhile that we drove past was packed- the music and ambiance was wonderful. Sad that such a great simple concept like Scotty's is gone. They had great food, great service and a great feel good atmosphere. Not anymore.
Bad customer service, long wait time, and bad food. The wait staff there is rude and pays no attention. If you really need to see the water, limit your consumption there to a beer, and eat elsewhere. That said, the water front there is not nice, there's a huge construction project going on. Waste of time.
Good food TERRIBLE service. We waited the entire meal for some water and when we asked to split the bill they wouldn't let us. The manager came over and said we could split the bill but not based on what we ordered only split in half so the gratuity was automatically included. We got water after asking 4 different people and waiting an hour.
Waiter completely forgot about us, we got here at 9:20 and at 9:48 we finally got up and requested a waiter noticing that the people sitting next to us whom had arrived at 9:38 had been served a few minutes later and we still had not been asked what we want. We than decided to get up and request service, they told us that they would pack the tables up around us and that we had 5 minutes to order we order and she didn't bring us our drinks until 10:00 and did not feed us until 10:30 when all the chairs were picked up. The food was ok but it was not something I would like to repeat.
Terrible service at bar floor covered with swill beer to expensive price changes every time purchase beer! Music good entire bar stafff needs replaced renovation . I almost bought place 25 yeats ago wish i did needs good maagement . Wont ever eat there in unsanitary conditions. Nice view with charthouse gone
I didn't even get to eat! Without a hostess up front I waited about 15 minutes before I gave up. I had stopped by after the King Mango Strut parade, and then walked over here since this was the old Scotty's Landing of my 20s. The bar was packed, and there was a line at the entrance with no hostess. Someone else waiting mentioned that the waitress was also a hostess but again, with nowhere to even put my name down was around, I left.
First time and definitely the LAST time here ! Place is a mess starting with hostess which was so confused that reservations and number of people got all mixed up, all the way to a manager whose verbal skills were on a level of an street hoodlum. After being bounced from one table to another several times and after manager couldn't accommodate simple request to seat us at table instead at the bench he just said "do you guys wanna eat here or not, I'm busy today " . I guess my money is not good enough here.
Nice location. Waiter provided good service. Overall poor experience. Our sons food was undercooked (raw chicken). It was returned and they recooked same pieces and reheated side dish. Still charged us for his meal. We wouldn’t return.
