Hiro's Sushi Express Miami Reviews
Absolutely phenomenal! I ordered to go for the first time and everything was fantastic. Really great chicken udon, fried rice, teriyaki wings (huge!), tamago nigiri, tuna maki, spring rolls, and karaage. Everything is priced very fairly and the employees were cranking out orders in store and to go very fast on a Saturday night. They were super sweet and kind!!! Can’t wait to return - absolutely a menu worth stopping by for in South Beach!
For 15 years this has been my go to sushi place on south beach. The prices have remained fair and the food is amazingly fresh and tasty!! I saw the chef in the back slicing up pink as can be fresh salmon! The staff, the service, the food is all impeccable! I moved to broward and I always stop here when in town!! The cheesecake roll dessert is to die for 🤤
Went for take out and it seemed they forgot my order as it took longer than the 3 people who ordered after me and I only took 2 rolls and a miso soup so it was a relief when the food was fresh and delicious ! Lots of options so I will try again and hopefully they redeem their service time !
This establishment offers a delightful culinary experience. The fresh ingredients and artful presentation create a feast for the senses. The service is attentive and contributes to a pleasant dining atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, making it an excellent value. I highly recommend a visit to savor their delectable offerings.
This is such a refreshing restaurant in the middle of South Beach. Reasonably priced and freshest sushi and sashimi. Service was incredibly fast. Limited outdoor seating but plenty of tables and counter seats. Will definitely come again and it will be first stop in South Beach.
The only restaurant I have found near South Beach that offers entrees for under $10! Foods are good and fast. You order and pay at the counter, seat yourself and they call your name when your order is ready. Foods I have ordered: takoyaki (very doughy, just like the ones I had in Japan), beef rice bowl (delicious), cha siu buns (delicious, buns were fluffy, cha siu melted in my mouth), soft shell crab buns (crabs were deep fried just right), eel rice bowl (sauce was delicious, eel had too many small bones but not the restaurant’s fault), chicken with omelet rice bowl (chicken was juicy but bland, I had to add quite a bit of soy sauce, this was the only dish that was a miss but it only lacked seasoning, the cooking technique was fine). Come support this restaurant so they can stay in business while keeping their prices low
Very very small, and tables are cramped, but the food was EXCELLENT. What a great value for every single dish we ordered, and prepared/cooked to perfection! I feel like we ordered one of just about everything on the menu, so it took a little while for our orders to come out, and they couldn't come out together because we ordered so much and really kept the chefs busy. But every piece of sushi and dumpling and chicken yakitori was succulent and the quality was terrific! We will be back next time we're in Miami Beach!
Best value for great tasting sushi in all of South Beach. Consistent quality over 10+ years of visiting. I have been getting sushi from this place for years and their quality and value have been consistent all throughout. The combos are very worth it both in value and extremely yummy, if you enjoy sushi. They have different variations of the sushi combos. The salmon is fresh tasting, I get it every time that I go. It’s fresh and delicious. The chicken teri don, is juicy and it’s sushi rice that matches it perfectly. You can add extra chicken if you would like. The sauce is not overwhelming and the mushrooms make a good addition. Orders are completely very quick, usually. I have yet to find a dish I do not like from here. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back for another 10+ years.
Amazing place delicious food friendly faces over all just a good place with great pricing compared to the rest of south beach
Nestled in the heart of South Miami Beach, this sushi haven exceeded my expectations with its impressive selection of sushi, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service. The minimalist decor created a tranquil setting that was perfect for enjoying a meal. The menu showcased a wide variety of sushi options, catering to both traditional and modern tastes. From classic nigiri and sashimi to creative specialty rolls, there was something for everyone. The sushi was really good. The flavors were well-balanced. The menu also included a selection of sake and other beverages to complement the meal. The value for the quality received was still commendable. Worth to visit!
The sushi here is absolutely amazing! 10/10 hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. The prices are very affordable and they have the best Thai donuts. I highly recommend getting the tuna California with eel sauce, it’s delicious. They also offer complimentary sides/desserts after purchases, truly a one of a kind place!
Hands down this is the best sushi place in all of South Beach. The value and quality you get for the price is phenomenal! Huge hand rolls, unbelievably fresh hamachi, friendly service too! I went during the dinner time rush and saw the team complete over 20+ orders in a short amount of time.
You HAVE to go here if you come to Miami. $3 beers in happy hour (still v cheap normally for Miami!), very cheap food, big portions, relaxed atmosphere, and lovely taste!
Great place to eat, overall my visit was nice. It’s a small place with great prices for Miami Beach we loved the food and it was super quick. Will definitely come back and try more of the menu.
Great food, and the portions are worth the money. Definitely will be going back to try something else. The shrimp and steak yakisoba was fire!!!
This was the best sushi I've ever had in my life. It was so delicious.
Royal resale Boutique is timeless treasures, the best high and Designer, vintage clothing, handbag shoes estate pieces, consignment pieces absolutely amazing Place. You got to check it out great prices and then negotiate on every price You can get it for what you want and feel good about shopping.
If you’re looking for affordable, high-quality sushi that’s perfect for takeaway, this is definitely the place to go. First off, the value here is fantastic. You get great sushi without breaking the bank. The prices are really reasonable, especially for the quality you receive. We’re always impressed by how efficiently they prepare our order. Whether we're grabbing a quick lunch or picking up dinner for the family, the sushi is always ready on time and tastes great. If you’re in South Beach and in the mood for sushi, Hiro’s Sushi Express is definitely worth checking out.
What a pleasant surprise. We got an urge for sushi and this came up as not too far away and reasonably priced. The surprise is that the sushi was excellent. They do a brisk carryout business and it is not fancy seating. You order and they call your name when your order is ready. That said, some of the best sushi I've had (and this includes Seattle and Portland) without paying for the ambience. Definitely recommend the crispy salmon skin roll if you like texture in your food.
Great sushi, great service and Not expensive at all
Great fresh sushi Awesome music and Excellent prices
This guy I used to date took me here all the time. Now that we don’t date anymore I miss your sushi more than the guy (I live far) please open another location in Kendall
Great value sushi and other goodies in tapas style portions. Local gem!
I’VE BEEN COMING HERE FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS NOW AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH THE STAFF AND THE FOOD. FAST SERVICE LOTS OF SELECTIONS AND THE PRICES ARE VERY AFFORDABLE COMPARING TO OTHER SUSHI RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA. SPIDER ROLL, CALIFORNIA ROLL, CRUNCHY CALIENTE, FRIED GYOZA ARE JUST A FEW OF THE GOOD CHOICES. YOU MUST GET A SAPORO AND ENJOY IT WITH YOUR FOOD. IG @ISAACPAIZ
Solid place in Southbeach. Never been here before and the sushi was fresh and delicious! Looking for a quick place to eat, was immediately served with a smile and super fast! If you in area, will not disappoint. Local said they have been coming for 10 years. On top of excellent sushi, pricing is very good. Will not break bank! Enjoy! Photo I was almost done before writing this review because it was amazing!
Yes yes yes! Great spot to get some decent sushi in the area. It is a hole in the wall but clean and efficient. The service is also great with the employees offering recommendations, and promptly clearing your dishes. My favorite was the salmon cali roll and it was very affordable. $5 minimum on credit cards.
Our absolute favorite spot in Miami. Found on accident years ago and it is the major reason we ever choose to visit Miami. Shoutout to the spicy tuna crispy rice!
Absolutely amazing hidden gem in south Miami. Pretty cheap compared to everything else around here. Got sushi, a rice bowl, and a bottle of soju for $30.
The vegetarian sushi is delicious. The ingredients are very fresh. You will not be disappointed.
Had 🍣 delivered for my birthday on Sunday and it was great, just like the NMB location before it closed.
We ordered tuna poke, sushi with octopus, rolls- california, salmon and shrimp- loved it. Delicious, fresh, my compliments! The miso soup and spinach with teriyaki were a little not our taste. The soup I had at the original had a more intense flavor. But all very much enjoyed it! Quickly prepared, well packaged and the thick sauce included was very satisfying, haven't had that before!
Shout-out to the chefs, Bli Agung and Bli Dede, for their hospitality and for taking such great care of our meals! An excellent value for the price. - Edrian & Mutia Ratih from Seattle
This place is awesome! I don’t like Sushi and got dragged here but the staff helped me find a non fish item that was delicious. Also the soju was amazing. Fairly priced and service with a smile
Food vs price is amazing. We had a lot of food for $30 which is great for the beach. We are local and buying food here is very expensive, but this place is very reasonable. Service and cleanliness are good. This is our second time here this week after discovering it last Monday. Highly recommend. I had pork Gyosas, chicken teri don and egg rolls. I’m full and couldn’t finish all my food. Happy to take leftovers home.
Why didn't I find this place any sooner? It is located in Miami South Beach and considering the location you may presume it is expensive: wrong. It is one of the low cost food you will find in Miami Beach, and the quality is worth much more than the price. They offer a wide variety of Sushi, Sashimi, platters, famous dishes, etc. They also offer Rice Burgers which was a hit, never tried it before and I loved it (actual rice buns in a massive seaweed covering and hosting the ingredients; beef, chicken, fish, or vegetables). If you are a Sushi fanatic like myself, I highly recommend one of the main deals / platters as they are very cost effective and good for parties of 2, 3 and 4. The portions in general are quite big and filling (refer to my photos). Service is amazing and the staff is really helpful and patient while deciding on selections. Be aware: if ordering online, be aware the menu can be a hacked version and not the correct one. Use their official site and/or through Google Maps. I looked at the one on normal Google search and it wasn't the correct one. Rating: 10 stars out of 5 if that was even possible ;)
Good sushi. Liked the variety and the prices. Simple yet filling. Just the kind of place we were looking for after a whole day roaming Miami Beach. Recommend to the budget traveler looking for good sea food.
Was a wonderful reprieve from Some of the overpriced food we had in south beach. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh! Service was great as well and prices were so reasonable! Very large portions as well for the price and were happy to have leftovers to take back to our hotel. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a quality meal while vacationing on a budget!
The sushi was delicious and very reasonably priced. I ordered a spicy tuna cone, a salmon roll, and a California roll. Each was very good.
Its a brilliant Sushi place hidden but excellent fresh food delivered daily and quality sushi chiefs prepare your food to order. Hot or cold
My favorite sushi spot in Miami Beach. If you are looking for some great quality sushi and a quick decent place to eat, this is the place to go. You have to have the fried sticky spicy tuna. 🍣 so delicious. The food is fresh and they’re always busy. So go there and enjoy it. They also have a couple of great combo platters that are affordable. We were able to feed 5 of us for less than $60 dollars.
⸻ ⭐ 5-Star Review – Hiro’s Sushi Express, South Beach ⭐ Hiro’s Sushi Express is truly one of the best hidden treasures in South Beach. Every time I visit, I’m impressed by how consistently fresh, clean, and perfectly prepared the sushi is. You can literally taste the quality—from the texture of the fish to the way the rolls are assembled. Nothing ever feels old, mushy, or watered down. It’s always fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. What really sets this place apart for Miami Beach is the exceptionally good pricing. In an area where most restaurants charge tourist-level prices for average food, Hiro’s offers high-quality sushi at very fair, affordable rates. The portions are generous, the rolls are filling, and you genuinely feel like you’re getting value for your money. It’s one of the few places in South Beach where you can enjoy excellent sushi without overspending. The menu has a great selection of classic rolls, specialty rolls, sashimi, poke bowls, soups, and sides—everything is quick, convenient, and consistent. Whether I’m picking up food for lunch, grabbing dinner, or stopping by for a quick bite, the service is always fast and friendly. The staff works efficiently, and even during busy hours, they manage to keep everything organized and moving smoothly. The restaurant itself is casual but clean, making it perfect for takeout or a relaxed dine-in experience. You always know exactly what you’re going to get: fresh ingredients, good prices, reliable quality, and friendly service. If you’re in South Beach and craving sushi without the attitude or high prices, Hiro’s Sushi Express is absolutely the place to go. A true neighborhood favorite that deserves every bit of recognition. 🍣✨
Real value for money! 🍴 If you’re tired of Miami’s sky-high service fees and tipping expectations, this place is a breath of fresh air. Fresh, and satisfying — no hidden costs, just delicious bites that hit the spot. Highly recommend for anyone who wants great food without the sticker shock!
Comida excelente. Atienden bien, barato.
The veggie sushi is amazing! We also tried the tofu egg noodles but they were a little too salty. The price is amazing for anything here though! And the portions are pretty big especially considering the low prices! I'm a vegetarian so I didn't try the meat options but they might be worth a try if you eat meat since there is a lot more options👍
Located in the third row of Miami Beach, Hiro‘s Sushi Express offers a mix of pros and cons for sushi enthusiasts. The ambiance reflects its age, with slightly worn furniture and decor that could use a refresh. However, the overall cleanliness is satisfactory. The food is the highlight here—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared sushi that rivals more upscale establishments. The variety on the menu caters to traditional and contemporary tastes alike, making it a great spot for any sushi lover. The service is decent, ranging from average to good, depending on the staff and timing of your visit. While it might not be the fastest or most attentive, the staff are generally polite and accommodating. A standout feature is their delivery service, which brings their fresh sushi straight to your doorstep—perfect for a relaxed night at home. Overall, Hiro‘s Sushi Express is a solid choice for fresh sushi in Miami Beach, especially if you prioritize food quality over ambiance. A little renovation and a boost in service efficiency could make this place truly exceptional.
Miami was a stopover before and after our cruise. I was craving sushi and saw Hiro's. Very good reviews. The people don't lie. Judging from the pictures of their food, I thought I'd give them a try. Not too far of a walk from our hotel. Almost missed it because it truly is a hidden gem (hint: south of the Marriott on Washington between 15th & 16th) So many choices... good thing people were ordering and waiting for their food. Couldn't decide if I wanted sushi or hot food even though my craving was for sushi so I ordered both! The Emperor had a little of everything: 6 pieces of nigiri (shrimp, white fish, tuna, salmon, escolar, and kani) , 3 pieces of masago California maki, and 3 pieces of tuna maki. My hot food was combination fried rice with chicken and shrimp. The pieces of chicken were dark meat so it stayed juicy while cooking. Plus the pieces of chicken were huge chunks. Usually other restaurants chop the pieces of meat into tiny pieces that can be dry. In addition, the seasoning on the fried rice was perfect not too salty. But they do give you extra soy sauce if you need more flavor. Next time I'm in South Beach Miami I'm going to come back to try the other things on their menu. I would definitely recommend Hiro's Sushi Express!
Super nice Sushi and starters. The gyoza were very good as well as the spring rolls. Unfortunately they are not really good in service. I asked if I can change the three tuna makis in three vegetable makis (they had it as well in their menu) but that wasnt possible. So one star off. We also had the noodles with shrimps and mushrooms. I didnt like the taste of the sauce and the noodles were just too big for me so I wouldnt recommend to eat noodles. Stay with Sushi and you will be very happy! Price is best for miami!
Fast food joint OK sushi. OK price reflects sushi quality. Tuna tataki was thin and tastes old. nothing stellar. Teriyaki beef and noodle dishes didn't taste flavorful. Blah. We have eaten here for over 15 years but it's not the same quality. Sad as it was our go to sushi when wanted something fast. Restroom out of service.
This place was a great hole in the wall sushi spot. The prices were fantastic and the rolls were delicious. Highly encourage anyone to visit it.
Service is good, and was able to get any takeout quickly even when they were busy. Menu is nice, simple, and easy to understand. Place is nice, cozy and laid back
Good value option for Miami Beach My husband and I shared a Crowd Party Plate so that we could taste a selection of sushi. (This party plate was for 3 people and we didn't quite manage to finish it all.) The sushi was well made with fresh, good quality ingredients and the staff were really nice about giving us extra ginger. Even though it was really busy, the food came out quickly and the prices are very reasonable.
Nice menu but they are open for you to ask for something not on it. Food good and came up fast! Easy place to go have a snack at in south beach area! Price wasn’t too bad either. I would for sure come back. Only down fall was the cashier charged me twice but it’s all good just a mistake.
Well positioned near a principal and famous artery, it offers to clients a good selection of classic sushi and Chinese food, kindly served in a tray, rich in taste and generous in shape. Good selection of beverages. Prices very competitive and staff so affable. Very suggested also considering the prices of other rivals.
Easily the cheapest sushi I have found in a lonnngggg time. And good quality too. The other bowl meals were okay, but overall, for affordable decent feeds, this place is great.
Hiro es una muy buena opción para comer sushi barato en Miami Beach. Variado, rico y bueno a un buen precio. El pie de Te verde( creo) era muy pero muy rico, nada que envidiarle a un Cheesecake estilo yankee.
I’m visiting Miami for the first time and craving Asian food. (I do this all the time when I visit any major cities) I found this place via DoorDash because of the varieties of menu items and price range seems great and you can’t argue sushi platter for 2 for only $40. Which normally will run you easily $60 or more anywhere else in the US. I also had takoyaki (my go to appetizer for a Japanese restaurant for my standard to judge a place) and Teriyaki wings. Verdict: is this the best sushi I ever had? No. Something is missing. The sushi rice wasn’t quite seasoned enough for my liking. The soy sauce came with the sushi was too salty. It should be milder so it doesn’t overtake the flavor of the fish. With that being said. For the value, The quantity is there. The overall flavor could have been improved. In the end would i come back? Yes. For the value. Maybe I’ll skip the sushi and go for the sashimi and eat-in instead and ask for low sodium soy sauce if they have that as option next time.
Very good food. Very good prices. Ladies behind counter need to be more customer oriented.
This has been one of my go to places for years now. The last few times I've been, the service has been horrible though. The girls at the cash have been disorganized and disinterested. The manager never comes out from the back to help manage / expedite the front. I've seen people leave really upset because orders are taking forever. They used to bring your order to you, the last 4 times I've been there they haven't. Makes me wonder why I tip! (It's a pay while standing deal, but the service used to be good enough to warrant a tip). Today I ordered my usual sashimi salad but was given (and charged for) the sashimi appetizer. Honestly, it was really good! But not what I ordered. With a bit of adult supervision, I think this place could go back to 5 stars. The food is great and the prices are reasonable, and until the last few months, I've never been disappointed with the service.
The sushi here is pretty good, and I appreciated the special wrapper for the hand rolls that keeps the seaweed dry. It was unfortunate that my to-go order took nearly 30 minutes to prepare, as I had to stare at this disgusting greasy box that for some reason is right in the front of their restaurant, and looks like it’s been there forever. The place needs a deep clean and facelift. Also would be nice if they labeled menu items gluten free or not - a lot items contain “crunch,” likely tempura.
Genuinely top 3 worst customer service experiences of my life. Gave me the most disgusting salmon roll I have ever seen and when I asked them to help make things right, they told me since I ordered for pick up, they were not willing to change or help in any way. Extremely rude people and disgusting food. They also added shrimp into my girlfriends fried rice after she told the she had a selfish allergy.
It’s time to CLOSE THIS PLACE !! felt like a ceiling tile was going to fall on me everything is cracked & old ! servers we’re BEYOND RUDE and seem to show up to work for a quick tip. & while i was there last night the manager decided to call the police on a BLACK man and LIE AND TELL THE POLICE HE WAS ARMED so ofcourse múltiple police cars rushed over and roughly arrested the man due to a LIE because he was UNARMED ! When ppl voiced their opinion on the situation the staff laughed and walked off inside !! WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DOLLAR OUT OF ME ! VERY OVERATED RESTAURANT
Please do some renovation!!! Been going to this place for 13 years its a shame chinese owners dont care about customers but only care about cash in their pockets!!!! Look at those pictures below. This place needs to get shut down for sanitation and clean up/renovation. Dust literally falling from celeing on your food… 😞 very sad
I saw your employees weoponized systemic racism against a blk man... I won't be eating here ever again. If they can do tht its obvious they dnt care how they handle thier food either
This place aka Hiro's Sushi has been a long time favorite and service/ambiance was never a problem. Recently I decided to stop in, as I was in the area. I placed an order which included the garlic-teriyaki chicken wings. From the first bite I knew something was off. I almost began to doubt my taste buds knowing that Hiro's never steered me wrong. The wings looked so good but the seasoning simply wasn't there. The outside had a tasty garlic and teriyaki coating but the inside was dry... and flavorless! I took another bite to confirm my suspicions. "Eww! No seasoning!" It's almost as if the wings were cooked frozen, and then tossed in the sauce- wait Hiro's, if that what we're doing now??! A total disappointment!
Barely any fish, the rolls are mainly rice. Low quality ingredients. It's on the cheaper end so it was somewhat expected, but I didn't think it would be this bad as far the lack of actual fish.
Rude people they make up prices you have to pay for your food first before you get it. I had a bad experience here there are plenty places to eat on the beach stay away from this place and leave the Roaches with them.
