Came here while on vacation in Miami, the food was great and the drinks were refreshing! I would recommend the ceviche.

The drinks are pricey, but they usually had buy one get one free deals, so you pay maybe 50-60 bucks for one drink, but you get another for free, so it's about half per. And they also gave us free shots with out drinks. If you want, they can give you a slip so you can return another time for your free drink (which you'll probably want to do considering they are STRONG). The drinks are potent, very dangerous, as a lot of them are tasty and you can't really taste the alcohol, which is daaaangerous. There is a waitress there, she is the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on, she looks like Ariana grande. I got a picture with her. BEAUTIFUL. Anyway, I can't see why the place got so many negative reviews, I can't really see anything TOO bad that needs to be complained about besides the prices, but then again, they're BOGO, AND it's Miami, so what do you expect?

Edward Padiarov

I put 5 star just to get your attention here. It is definitely a trap. The thing I figured is that everyone who comes there sees the reviews after the fact when it is too late. I did my test today and walked in that cafe knowing what to expect. The drink menu does not have a single price. I asked them what they would suggest me to order to eat and a waiter suggested one of three appetizer options. Neither of those appetizers was on the menu of course. I asked her for a price already knowing that they will charge me 265$. The waiter automatically lost all her interest in me since the trap is designed "to order without asking". She started looking in different directions finding what to say, started talking about the menu, anything but telling me the price. When I insisted on the price she answered with a very special way saying "two sixty five", chewing "two" and saying "sixty five" loudly. When my test was over, I left the menu and walked out. But before I left I told a couple of tables who were getting ready to order that it was a trap. I enjoyed watching people leaving so much. Any time I am passing by that cafe I will try to do the same. Hope they lose as much customers as possible. Good luck.

Came here for the first time today (also my first time in Miami) and my server Ines hooked up. I was skeptical after seeing the reviews for this place but 5 of us ordered the 2 for 1 drinks for $30 and our bill only came to to $122...she also gave us 2 shots each even though that wasn't part of the deal. We ordered fries as well...me and my 6 friends had a grreeaaaatttt time. Don't listen to the negative reviews you can have an awesome experience at this place..and even before that their deals were way better than anywhere else on the strip.

The food was de-lish! I respected the usual hustle that you get on a south beach block from restaurants but the guy at La Baguette was good! The guy hit me with the 2-for-1 drink but the kicker was the patron shots, you can't go wrong with patron! The down side though was that the 2-for-1 was not worth the price and a quick conversation brought the price down. All in all my group was pleased!

Wife and I love the breakfast here which is reasonably priced and service was really good; we came here 3 days in a row as everywhere else along the beach charged us at leat 50% more for the same food! We never had lunch or dinner here.

Had a wonderful time I understood everything that I was buying they deliver what they promise no problems here

So the drinks were expensive, but the owner was really nice when I talked to her about feeling misled on the drinks and the tipping process. There are no prices listed on the drink menu. The 15% tip is ALWAYS included in the bill. The waiter was really nice and the food was good. After talking to the owner about my concerns she invited me back with free drinks and a discount off our next meal because she appreciated me talking to her instead of just writing up a mean review.

H
Hellen Urcuyo

Food was ok.. nothing special and overpriced as it can get in Ocean Drive.Understandable. Their crazy $65 cocktail was supposed to be used with prosecco and instead they put something else in it.. meh

I
Ian Morinigo

Huge meals and drinks. The BBQ ribs were delicious. DO NOT ORDER WITHOUT LOOKING THE PRICES BEFORE. IT 'S AN EXPENSIVE PLACE

G
Giles Tranter

Tourist trap. Food is decent, service okay, but well over priced. Sting you with the giant cocktails that are boozy, but not $55 boozy. Automatically add the gratuity at 18%... Fine if you know what you're getting into, just be careful

D
Daniel Epstein

Buyer beware. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. $55 for 2 drinks whose size was big enough to wash your feet in, also included 2 shots each. Forced included tip. But beware, prices range from a reasonable $15 for a Cuban sandwich to "Holy crap, are you freaking kidding me?!" Know the price of what you order before you order.

Thank God I researched this place after deciding to stop here for drinks. My bf had a $16 martini which wasn't worth that price but wasn't awful in taste. They do give you free tequila shots but I hate tequila. We had 4 shots, 2 each but I only took 1. Bf had 2. Anyway, the point of this review is for the food we ordered. I had the fried calamari and zucchini appetizer and it was delicious. Not worth $15.99 but filled me up and tasted great. Bf had the cobb salad for $16.99 and we both ate off it- ingredients tasted fresh but again, a little overpriced. I didn't order Happy hour drinks because I googled the place and saw all the 1 star reviews regarding $55-60 cocktails. I'd recommend coming here for an appetizer or two if you want to people watch on Ocean Drive and snack on good, slightly overpriced food. Otherwise, avoid ocean Dr altogether or go to Fat Tuesday's (which has $10 large daquiris that are delicious!) Or cough up a little more $ for something upscale with over 4 stars.

L
Lync Price

Drinks were huge and delicious. The food was good, but $65 is way too much for a drink and their nachos would have cost is another 40. Its way over priced. I wouldn't go back again. If you do go, ask for a menu and check the price before you order anything or your bill will be a lot more than you expected. Gratuity is also automatically included in the bill.

T
Tiff Rosemary

The staff is very aggressive and pushy. They told us there was a 2 for 1 happy hour drink special. One drink was $56, came 3/4 full and half of it was giant cubes of ice. A beer is $30. Our waiter was constantly trying to get us to order expensive and overpriced food from their menu and became hostile once we declined. They are not upfront or honest about their pricing to deliberately rip you off! There was also a service charge added, which wasn't the tip.

J
Jessica Cruz

Worse place ever!! The waitress doesn't have manners, and they trick us with a $55.0 dls drink, the price wasn't on the menu and they wait until the end to tell us about it. Definitely first and last time here! 😡

G
Gopal Raval

Waiter staff little rude and no meners. They are fighting in front of customer. 18 percent grautity mandotry if you are less than 6 people and also they asked more tips

A
Alex Valentine

La Baguette is a scam. $55 for a Mai Tai - $30 for a beer. 18% gratuity included for a party of two. We were told happy hour was 2 for 1. They offered two free drinks for a later visit when the presented the $153 tab. We came in for a cheap $18 pasta dish and $12 salad to share. We were such suckers, should have have come in. Also, does that look like 55 oz beer?

E
Estela Xu

Here is the PRICE, 5 Virgin pina colada for$350, yes, $350! They told me give me 50% off deal, but when they gave me the check, they said only food has 50% off not drinks. Liar! Funny

B
Berni Fiallo

If I could it give zero stars I would. One drink and a disgusting quesadilla with guacamole gone bad and frozen sour cream $91! The drink was good but I didn't eat the food. I should've read the reviews before sitting down. The staff were so unprofessional they say at the tables next to you just to hang out and one of them was telling the other to come up to me and talk to me since I was sitting by myself. I felt sick after eating there. AVOID!!!!

L
Lis

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Our nigh was ruined by this place. It's a shame we didn't saw the reviews before we went. Can't believe places like this are still open. ABSOLUTE SCAM. We were allured by the waiter to buy 2 drinks for one for 30$. They charged us 80$ and the waiter was very arrogant although she knew she lied to us. This must be illegal.

C
Caylor Cook

If i could put a negative star i would! DISGUSTING! COMPLETE SCAM! Went to lunch 1 beer, 1 margarita (supposedly 2 for 1) , an app, and pizza cost 195! Then they added a 20% service charge and chased after us because we didnt tip on top of that claiming that was for the bar and busboy! Ruined my entire trip, will for sure read reviews before ever going out to eat in Miami! DO NOT GO HERE!

R
Rolando Lozano

The perfect place to be raped in public! don't understand why this place haven't been suspended!. With a very nice smile they approach you to offer you happy hour, mojito, pina colada, Margarita, so not fancy drinks that shouldn't cost more than $10 us each and that's assuming they are in South Beach, and then they turn out to be horrible BTW designed to make you drunk immediately with cheap alcohol and all of that for a $55 us of course plus tax and an additional 18% of service charge!, seriously...no kidding, and they did this to me and my family which includes 2 seniors!, so a total lack of respect! we ended drinking only the 20% of the first drink since we didn't stand it, and i rejected to paid the 18%. so for a 5 people consuming only one dish of less than $15us each, 4 happy hour drinks and one bottled beer the check was for $415 us, i ended paying $350 but really i regret not leaving the place just paying for food and a top of $10 us per drink.......ahhh forrgot about this one, my brother asked for a Jalapeño and they charged as a side dish!

N
Nathalie Soucy

Zero stars is what I prefer! 3 pasta dinners and a burger, 4 drinks = $414.00!!! Did I mention, it was happy hour?? We didn't leave their very happy! Avoid this place at all costs.

B
Baby Perez

Do not go here!!! They autómatically take a big tip and dont tell you. We got the receipt which tipped over 50.00 and we had already given a 50 dólar tip. So they got $100.00 tip for mediocre food and non existant service. The food was dry and lacking season. We ordered a parrillida cubana (which wewere told wasfor two ppl) it waseasily for 5 ppl. Not mention over 200.00 dollars. Smh never again. For $200.00 I expect some good food, not dry no favor and full of fat

D
Destiny Jones

I HOPE YOU READ THIS BEFORE YOU ORDER AND ITS TO LATE! Like may other people. I was starving and sat down expecting to pay a tab of maybe $100. $150 at the MOST! My total was $237. My mouth dropped! Please I ask you! Spare yourself the heartbreak on this trip and read the reviews. For everything! You won't regret it in the end!! DONT EAT HERE!!!!!!

A
Anisha Agarwal

Food was ok, oversized margarita attracted my attention and scammed me into $120!!! They got me and my wife to sit for dinner claiming 20% discount on food and 2 for 1 on drinks, I ordered a Cosmo and a large margarita, they billed for all items full price!! Then they explained that 2 for 1 means you can buy one tomorrow, not applicable on the same bill!! What a scam!

A
Abasiama Idaresit

Experience was so poor. Hidden charges, waitress said she's served us for free if we don't pay tip(service charge). Tourist trap in Miami. When I tried to show her all the bad reviews online she said they don't care about reviews. Poor Italian waitress. Don't be fool by the glamour, keep moving on the side walk

J
Justin S

RIP OFF!!!! SCAM! $55 mojito (drink menu was flashed in front of us, with the waitress explaining everything in broken English). Then they try to tack on 18% gratuity) for a 1 drink bill $70. This place is the worst, wish I could give negative 5 stars.

M
Mathieu Garand

If I could put 0 I would. Regular beers are 25$ and big ones are 30$. They tell you it's 2 for 1 but only on the refill. With those prices, you paid the refill on the first drink.

A
Ann Magritt Strand

STAY AWAY!!! this place is a total scam. we were asked when we walked by if we wanted free shots and 3 for 2 drinks. we thought this sounded good. we got the free shots and then i brought the drinks, and the drinks were enormus! we did not ask for so large drinks, but since we were promissed 3 for 2 we thought it woudent be so expensive - WE WERE SOOO WRONG. we got the bill and first of all he wanted us to pay for the 3 drinks, we complained and then we could pay for 2 drinks, as promissed. And the total for 2 drinks was 167 dollars!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY - DO NOT GO HERE.

J
James Barclay

Wish I'd read the reviews before coming here. Total disgrace. Please do yourself favour and find somewhere else to eat or drink. $130 for two cocktails is a rip off... Non alcoholic version was the same price as alcohol version. Well done management - I will advise anyone and everyone I meet in Miami to avoid your utter dump.

M
Mi Primer Drone

I should of have read the reviews before sitting down. The waitress recommend items that were not in the menu. When we got the bill it was 192 for plate for two. Thank god we didnt order drinks. The food wasnt that good either. They add the tip themselves 25 bucks for okay service. Never again. If you come to eat at any location ask for the price. Rather look like cheap than being ripped off.

G
Gladys Greaves

SCAMMMMM!!! I'm surprise this restaurant is still in business. this restaurant is running a scam on tourist. They lure you in, as you walk buy offering free shots or buy one get on free drinks. Don't be fooled, what they don't tell you is the price of the drinks because the same drink varies by waiter, and you cannot share the two for one. you have to drink both drinks at 50.00 per drink. Crazy. I don't know why they haven't been shut down for unethical business practice. PLEASE DO NOT RUIN MIAMI EXPERIENCE BY VISITING THIS PLACE.

m
melody kirschman

Do not eat here. I became sick after eating a hamburger from here. The tab was $186 with 50% off for 3 drinks a burger and pasta Alfredo. It was cold and and had very small portions. The staff was horrible. Once we ordered he never came and checked on us. They charge an automatic 18% gratuity on all checks so they do not care about service or quality of meal. Do not eat here is all I can say.

M
Margaret Williams

Scam artists !! Walk away !! Their soul purpose in life - see how bad they can screw over the tourists. DO not order 2 for 1 happy hour drinks - they will cost you $55 for each glass and a $27.60 serivce charge added to each person's bill. RIPOFF . They need to be reported to the South Beach City of Commerce

A
Ariel Diaz

Went out with my family of four to dinner there and for two plates $150 per plate and four drinks $55 each with there $102.00 service charge total bill was $668.82. The biggest scam on South beach strip. Mangos only charges $15 per drink that sounds more reasonable.

T
The Ted

Wish we had gone somewhere else. We were sold the deal of 2for1 drinks during 'happy hour' as it was $30 for a large (they are big cocktail bucket things) we had 2 drinks and some Nachos. The Nachos were worse than you get for $10 in the cinema but have a load of cheap steak and chicken thrown on them. The bill came to $118! the drink jumped to $55 and they automatically add a service charge of 18% then they have the cheek to ask for a tip! The front of house constantly accost people to sit down and then a woman selling cigars will stand by your table and smoke whilst you are eating. We just made a joke out of it and carried on with our day after that.

M
MK

Horrible service and horrible atmosphete terrible price Normal dishes which is on the menu is normal price. For ex pasta is around 20bucks. But I ordered just one beer, and waitress decided herself it as a super size, and super size beer was 55$ just for one ppl. And she recommended paella la baguette, and it was 150$. Thats really terrible because pasta is 20$ and just one beer is 55$. Isnt it crazy??? And service tip was automatically added 20percent. If this restaurant's atmosphere was good, I could pay 55$ for one beer. But there's mood was too loud and old fashioned and fan made us felt headache. Because of cooling fan, we changed table... This terrible restaurant made terrible memories with miami. I will never go ocean dr. (However another restaurant which I visited yesterday, was so good. Waiter was friendly and cocktail was 25$ and mood was nice but i cant remeber the name of that)

J
Jessy (Jessy)

Went here to get a cheap breakfast and ended up paying for the most expensive meal for my whole vacation. I ordered apple juice for my child and it ended up being over $10. Then the waitstaff would not stop arguing because they all wanted to sit us. Very unprofessional. The food itself is mediocre. Totally not worth it. I also didn't like that the restaurant took the liberty to add the waiters tip to my bill automatically. Never again will I eat here.

s
simtex360

It was my birthday, so soon as we sat down I was promised free shots of patron and 2 for 1 drink specials..... First they were not patron shots, hell not even bottom shelf tequila. Secondly these big cups of watered down 40 grams worth of sugar in them MOJITOS... so the waiter asked us did we want and appetizer. I said sure.. does that look like and appetizer. .... long story short 6 shots later and now a 327.00 bill for 2 drinks, 6 free shots, and a appetizer 327 dollars...... can you say Pissedddddddddd..... oh and I cant forget they surrounded us until they were paid like we were going to sprint down oceans drive in flip flops......

V
Vincent Manning

We were hustled by Sebastian. Promised free shots and happy hr. No free shots and no happy hr is what we got. One Margarita and one rum and coke came to $69.00. The 18% tip was included whether we wanted to or not. Beware of the hustlers and the ridiculous prices. What a rip off.

E
Elvis Tam

SCAM! Drinks and Food were OK, but they grab people off the street with a lure of 2 for 1 drinks. Each drink costs $55! Because it comes in the size of a scorpion bowl. Out bill came out to over $700 dollars! Then make sure you don't tip, it's already included (we double tipped!)

K
Kelly Fischer

The server asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. After requesting distilled water he proceeded to bring us sparkling and charged us for it. This is not the way to make money. I feel that this is a way to scam tourists, and being a local, I am disgusted at the service I've seen. I have no problem spending money on good food and service but this was unacceptable

R
Rick Henry

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. The absolute worst place to go to. I should of read the reviews before I went. They are complete scammers. They offer free shots but then give you a bill for $141.00 for only 2 margaritas. The Service was so poor, constantly looking for the waiter and the restaurant is a joke. I was disgraced to see that bill, I should of went to sugar factory. I highly suggest do not waste your time and Money going here. You WILL REGRET IT.

L
Luiza Sielski

Complete scam. Ive taken the time to write only a handful of negative reviews and this place is one of them. Overpriced scam. Idiot server refused to take back the $55 drink saying I should have read the menu better and that he has been in customers service for 12 years. Well it must suck to know that after 12 years you still suck at customers service. No prices listed and no scale to show large or small the drinks were. Would have stood on sidewalk to warn people if I had the time.

h
hoppy6911

Stay away this owner should be in jail for scamming people so bad, $92 for two drinks, come on. Now I'm sure this scumbag owner will reply with an apology, saying it reflects the pricing in the area, just like the rest of his review responses. This place just scams tourists. Point Blank. The wait staff is told to just put the high price bill in front of you and apologize and run, you'll never see a manager, there trained to scam from a scam owner. StAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMER.

Y
Yan C.

Not even worth 1 star, DO NOT TRUST A PLACE WITH NO PRICE ON THE MENU. The waitress all should all be ashamed of themselves for being associated with such a shady association. They hound you to take a seat, the food seasoning sucks and the prices are ridiculous and not listed on the menu. 95.00 for a lobster pasta is insane.

b
becky reynolds

They don't tell you the drink prices. I had a salad and a margarita, my husband had a.quesadilla.And a beer. The bill was $155. For a $55 margarita, I should have ar least got a buzz. They really need to warn you. Not everyone can afford $155 for lunch. When you are just trying to walk through, they all come up to you to try to get you to stop. I wish I had checked reviews first.

S
SL SL (shell belle)

What a scam!!! Don’t go here they will claim happy hour drinks and charge you $30 for a beer. Unbelievable!! Gratuity is included in bill then they gravel for more. Can’t believe this place gets away with scamming travelers. Go to the Penguin. They have a great environment and good drinks😀

S
Shaylin Perez

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. This Italian scammer waiter offered an "appetizer" for three which turned out to a serving for ten. No advanced warning on how much food it would be and it turned out to be so much more than we needed. All the employees harass beach goers as they walk by and talk them into too expensive meals they are not interested in. I would recommend everyone stay as far away as possible. People want to relax and enjoy with their families and end up in a mess with this restaurant.

K
Kipfler -

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! Tourist trap! Cons galore! Paid $65 USD for a drink! That close to $90 AUD for a single drink. That is bloody ridiculous!!! Could not taste the alcohol in that mojito at all tasted watered down with lime mint and redbull. Then PROCEEDED WAIT AN ENTIRE HOUR FOR BILL!!! After our table was cleared long before that. Having already personally going up to the waitress to ask for it half an hour before it finally arrived to be smacked in the face with the $65 drink. Along with the meals and a "service charge" for 18% already included in the check in which she didn't not deserve for the poor service! Attempted to walk away without paying the complete%18 tip only to be chased down and threatened to have the cops called. SAVE YOUR PENNIES NOT WORTH IT!!!

E
Evelyn Talledo

All the women that work there are skanks. They only care about is tricking people into buying expensive $$$$ drinks. First of all there are no prices on the drink menu. We paid $85 for one big drink. (ONE STICKIN DRINK) The service and customer service was horrible. WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!

A
Ana Guacho

Zero star.. They are not honest, they said 2x1 drinks, but it's 2x4. The drinks are big, so it's not point to order 4 for 2 person. Hope they will give us the 2 drinks today, as they said we can come back any other day for it. Over price!!! 2drinks, a salad, a sandwich = $173

L
Luis Felipe Lavôr

Definitely the worst bar/restaurant in Miami Beach.Don't let the colorful lights fool you, keep walking. They say that if you buy one drink, the second goes for free. But when the bill comes, they charge 20 dollars for each. In addition to the ridiculous price, the food was a fail gourmet,20 dollars for 4 overfried small shrimps and the service was simply the worst I ever had.

C
Carlos E

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, the server Alberto quickly ushered me and my wife to take a seat and have a 2 for 1 drink special during lunch time, we ordered our drinks and requested to see the menu, we ordered a pizza, however the server stated: "I'm Italian and the pizza here is not good, it's frozen pizza heated in microwave" so he insisted in we eat a platter for two that came with sea food, chicken and meat, we followed his recommendation and didn't order anything else, when we asked for the check we were astonished to see the price was $320.00 !!!!!!!!! They did not honer the 1 for 2, in fact they charged $55.00 per drink ! when asked an explanation the server stated it was the first round we paid and the second was on them ! that does not even make sense ! this is just amazing that it happens in the U.S. when asked an adjustment he actually went laughing to do it, the platter where at the most would had been $75.00 in a high restaurant like zuma in brickell came out to be $150.00 !!!! that plus the taxes and the $45.00 tip included came out to be just ridiculous, we have already brought this up to the attention of AMEX considering all the terrible reviews we just saw, please do yourself a favor and never visit La Baguette in ocean drive.

T
TONY A

SCAMMERS!!! BEWARE DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL!!! I only gave this restaurant a 1 star because that is the minimum I can give! The menu prices are not real! They tell you the drinks are buy one get one free! Then they tell you "per person" STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! The workers are extremely rude and they do not care about customer service! I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN I will report them and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! BE ADVISED THE blonde server needs to be fired ASAP!

J
Jade Smith

S-C-A-M!!!!! Tricked into the 2 for 1 drinks, they won't tell you the prices and then they suggested the seafood platter for an appetizer which was huge, overcooked crap and then gave us a $300. I haven't been this angry after leaving a place EVER. Rip off tourist trap. Don't ever eat here!

R
Ricardo Florentino

WARNING: RESTAURANT SCAM!!! DO NOT EAT AT LA BAGUETTE IN SOUTH BEACH FLORIDA! Worst food, VERY HIGH PRICES and boring atmosphere, to say the least... My friend and I went in to grab dinner, while in the area, worst mistake EVER!!!! We looked at the prices on the menu and they seemed reasonable... We decided to order the paella, which served 2, but when we got our bill, it seemed it served 7... PAELLA WAS $150... YES, $150 DOLLARS!!!! We also ordered a specialty drink which cost $55... At the end of the night the total bill came to a surprising $275.... Not only was it wayyyyyyy over priced, but the food was HORRIBLE.... WILL NOT COME HERE AGAIN... DO NOT RECOMMEND... STAY AWAY....

L
Laura Olazarra

Can I give it 0 star? The food was not that bad, but my friend's pasta was TOO salty she could barely finish it. The drinks were 9 DOLLARS and we only ordered coke. In the end, Alexandra our waitress, told us we had to leave as soon as we paid and they "forgot" to give us 25 dollars in change. Service was totally awful and food was overpriced. Don't come here people!!

N
Nicolas Cruz

No STARS!!!! HORRIBLE place. I was charged $50 for a Johnny walker black and red bull. Wait staff seats you on the strip and once you order moves you to a table inside to pull someone else in... I will NEVER go back and will tell everyone the thrives they are. You don't charge someone $50 for a 8 ounce drink with 1 ounce of liquor. Shame on you. Good luck doing that type of business...

C
Christina Norris

AWFUL!! $162 for two (big) drinks and an appetizer that was $12. Yes, the drinks are big and I'd happily pay, if they were good but the drinks were piss poor, and no alcohol. HERE'S THE KICKER... They have a service charge, on top of tax and tip. Our service charge was $25. When I asked the manager what this was, she informed me that it was because we used the the silverware and napkins. Ummmm, excuse me? I told her that we informed our waitress that we wanted one drink a piece when we sat down and she did take one of the $55 drinks off but when I told her I had no intention of paying the service charge she threatened to call the police and said if I didn't like it that I could leave. "No one asked you" is what she said when I told her this was a scam and they needed to advertise this service charge.

G
Gloria Fenwick

Stay away. Complete and utter scam. Today's lure was half price, everything on the menu. We figured $40 for lunch. One glass of sangria was $55!! No other size glasses! But you did not know that until the bill came. Server offered seafood sampler and one meat sampler. Food came in huge plates - far more than was expected or needed. Then, the Bill. $244 and change!!! Tip was already added in. The server requested we leave her more, but only cash. Went inside to use bathroom, there was our server doing shots behind the bar! Believe all the reviews. This place is deceiving.

L
Luis Bernhard

This is a rip off place. I had two beers menu price 12$ each. The bill came at 76$ I told the waiter that was highway robbery. He said that was because we were entitled to a "free" beer waiter pretended to talk to manager to adjust the price. They still charged 15$ each beer totally unprofessional. Avoid going to this place at all costs!!!

P
Princess T

Smh this place..... When I say they completely ripped us off. Told us its was buy one get one free on the drinks so with it being my birthday of course, I wanted the big margarita. Why did I do that without looking at the price. And normally I read reviews but they were so aggressive on getting us to eat there. And I just really wanted some calamari so we picked them.... So the bill came up to 170 I asked why and this fool said $80 mind u for 1drink our food only came up to $65 I was so pissed because I could have made my own drink and couldn't even do what I had planed on my birthday after getting that bill I will never in my life go to this place again....

D
DJ Datdude

Kudos to this owner!!! He probably has the best hustle I have ever seen... Loud music with people running around promising buy one get one drinks and free shots!!!! Why wouldn't anyone stop? Usually I'm up on scam artists... I should have listened to my wife she knew something wasn't right.... 1 Corona and 1 cheap ass frozen Daiquiri for $86... Yes $86... Did I forget to say 2 drinks for $86... Oh they were all heart they gave us our free slushy(not even worthy enough to be called a beverage) to go. I am actually embarrassed to write this because I feel like a stupid tourist especially after reading all the bad reviews with the same complaint.

J
Josue Rosa

Horrible experience 0 star if I could, I was with two friends, we ordered a mojito, a margarita and a corona just one round, the menu doesn't have the prices, we asked the waitress to recommend an appetizer, she recommended the sampler. The sampler is a big pile of French fries covered with fried foods. I'm a bartender and when we got the bill I was shocked, $400,00. Are you kidding me. I felt robbed, i asked to speak to a manager, the manager never came out. Please avoid this place at any cost.

J
Jason Joseph

Scam! They say u get a free shot with just ordering a drink ..let it be known that the drink menu dose not have prices. Or size of the glass it comes in . Me and a few fiends sat down for a drink. We couldn't finish the drink and asked for Togo cups.. she asked for my card before even bringing me a bill. My credit card flagged it as a fraud charged. 3 drinks came out to $212. This is robbery in the fullest completely in human.

I
Ivan Lopez

These people are pure scumbags. Avoid this location if you don't want to get ripped off. Everything from the fast talking waiters on the sidewalk hustling and luring in tourists, telling them theyll give two drinks for the price of one. Then the bill, charging $55.00 and another $65 for both drinks. Over all totalling $300.00 for a basic lunch of mostly pizza. Hard to believe the city allows these low lives to still operate. This is the last time I visit Ocean Drive, what a dump.

I
Ilan Serman

This place is a SCAM. They tricked us into believing they have a happy hour, only to find out that the happy hour promotion was pay for 4 drinks and get 8 instead of pay for 2 and get 4. Then we asked the waiter for a recommendation and served us a 120 usd garbage. Then they charged us a "service fee" which was not the tip. The drinks were just water, the food was garbage and the prices were a scam. DO NOT EAT HERE.

S
Sandy Abreu

This place is extremely EXPENSIVE Drinks are watered down. We went for happy hour thinking we would spend about 100 bucks or a bit more. But noooo only for an appetizer it was $95.00 plus the drinks. They don't tell you prices and this place is just super EXPENSIVE. PLEASE Don't GET FOOLED AND DO NOT STOP BY. Extremely expensive. They give you a menu but they push you to order things that are not on the menu which are expensive. This is due to their persuasiveness and ability to sell you "free shots" and more. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. PRICES is just ridiculous. What a HAPPY HOUR this was

P
Paramount Exports

Terrible food, watered down drinks all for $500 for 4 people. We were shocked and thought it was a mistake and when the waitress came we asked her about it and then she turned on everything she said before. 2 for one drinks, 20% off the bill. If you ever go here, make sure to look for the drink prices...there are none posted, just a little asterisk on the back. it was a business trip and possibly the worst place to ever take anyone. stay away.

L
Laquitta Gordon

This place sucks!!!!! $141.00 for two drinks when the waiter said the drinks were 2 for $30.00. When we questioned the price, the manager said that the waiter was in training & didn't know any better. Do not get scammed like I did!! Run away fast.

a
a

Total scam. They lied and said drinks were 2 for 1 and food was 30% off in order to lure us into their restaurant. The staff spoke to my hispanic girlfriend in Spanish and spoke to me in English, in order to confuse us and tell us different lies about their "deals". Not only were we charged full price for everything, but the drink prices are completely ridiculous. $55 for a watered down mojito that was mostly ice cubes and lime slices, $30 for a "bud light" which definitely wasn't bud light or any light beer. For the 2 drinks, 1 small cuban sandwich, and the tip that they automatically add to the bill (no mention of this on the menu) we were charged $128.50. What they're doing here is definitely illegal, but what can you do?

A
Arshi

They rip-off of costumers. In menu beer was $12 (double price of experience places) but when they brought the bill they charge for $20 a glass of beer. When we ask the guy that he said I'm manager he told us $12 is for bottle and we have draft beer for $20.! They didn't tell us at the first that we don't have bottle. Also they already added %20 percent service charge as a tip in the bill ! They are real scammers.

If I can give a negative star I would. Jan 2016 we went to Miami for my birthday. First night there, we decided to go to the Clevelander. Uber guy dropped us off a block from there and we walked towards it. Well, we had to walk through this place. They talked us into eating there. So we sat down for a party of 3. Waitress told us they are having a special. 2 for 1 drinks and a few dinner special. Because the menu had nothing over $25. We decided to get 2 mojitos and a surf and turf. Didn't see it anywhere on the menu. Bill came to $430!!!!! When asked. She showed us the price on the back of the menu on the bottom in small prints. $55 for each drink, $225 for surf & turf for 4 ppl. She never asked if we wanted for 2 or 4 or told us the cost. We were dumb founded. Ruined the whole night and the rest of out trip. Very misleading. She only took one of the drink off because we asked why we are being billed for the other drink if it's 2 for 1. They automatically add tip to the bill as well. $70 for a tip she did not deserve! They should be upfront about the cost. Left a bad taste of Miami in our mouths. None of my Boston friends and family will be going there. Trust me that I've put them on blast all over Facebook and other social media! I never even paid this at the Capitol Grill! Oh, and menu also said filet mignon. It's not! Cheap steak!

J

Damn you google, I need to put 0 stars on this one but you wont let me. An artisan scam to the ninth degree. The worst customer service I have experienced in any bar or restaurant. Get prices beforehand, double check your bill and the double check your credit card account the next day. They will add whatever they want to your bill, raise the price on drinks, hike the tax rate (which should be a crime somehow) and scorn you for not ordering the highest priced drinks or food. Waiters must work on commission. Then when you question them, they act confused, puzzled and do not offer a solution. Other tables were having arguments with their waiters too while we were inside trying to teach them proper math.

P
Peggy Michelsen

Absolute worst service/drinks/food ever!!!! Total rip off!! Told two for one drinks yet this was not true! $12 for a bottle of beer, $55 for a drink that tasted like a cross between battery acid and toilet water!!! Also not having a clue the cost of said drink till bill came...(my bad!!!!) We then noticed that all the other tables with $55 drinks like ours were barely touched...Waiter was pushy and rude promising a 20% off to come eat there and drinks were supposed to be two for one, well that was not the case..$180 later for a crappy sandwich motzarella, basil and pesto on stale roll, a small salad with 1/2 avocado, 4 small slices of chicken, 1/2 small tomato, and a couple of thin cucumber slices, motzarella sticks and a Small cheese pizza...First time in my life I have not left a tip!!!! So glad I didn't use my credit card, as I am pretty sure they are running a scam business!!! Also in addition to waiter smoking a cigarette while serving, I am sure he was making some kind of drug deal right in front of us on sidewalk in front of restaurant!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND AGGRIVATION!!! PASS RIGHT BY THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND NEVER LOOK BACK!!!!

M
Michael J. Buffington

I will always check the reviews before stopping anywhere while on vacation, because my experience was exactly like the rest. Supposedly 2 for 1 drinks but 3 drinks $95 dollars (2 of the 3 were beers) 1 plate of mixed appetizers $95 tax and automatic 20% tip cost me $245 for my wife and to have lunch. I can't believe the city of Miami let's businesses like this prey on tourists.

S
Shaun W

This place is a scam..make sure you ask about the price of the drink before you order it. Charge 55 dollar for a slushie drink with alcohol I would have never order had the server informed me of the price and on top of that charge 30 buck for the same drink without alcohol that you can get at a gas station for 2 dollars. I question the bill with the waitress and she started to make racists comment, I question why she bring that up when im questioning her about the price on the bill and she walks away.

J
Jesse Anthony

Terrible experience. 110 for one drink and steak sandwich. They tell you one thing and charge you another. And then showed blatant racism. Halved our bill from 220 when we complained and tried to charge the black folk at the next table over 300. Told us they were doing us a favor and to keep it quiet. ..which we didn't, making the waiter enraged and nearly violent. Avoid this place at all costs.

S
Sweta Das

Its a loot here.. first they said its happy hour n its one on one. And then the bill came for 110$ stating that next two drinks are free.. they charged 55$ for mojitos which we didn’t know were of super bowl size..

D
Denise De Maio

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!! Straight lied to my party of 7 about prices. We each paid an average of $100 for 1 drink and 1 appetizer, totally surprise. Told us 30% off bill which is what got us in the door, come to find out it's 30% off food only, which we had to ask for because the bill didn't come with it. Outrageous!! I had to borrow money from a friend because I didn't have enough. Another party was freaking out for sane reasons and the waitresses were laughing at them making comments about them being Asian.

E
Ezequiel Mercado

I'm giving one star because I have too. This place is a serious tourist tap we were aware of the 55 dollar drinks but they told us 2 for 1. We got four drinks and they tried charging us 284 dollars her excuse was they got us another round for when we come back later. Really? What establishment bills you for food/drinks for a later time? ! Avoid this place

S
Sascha Giesen

Very friendly service at the beginning, reasonable tourist prices for the food. Drinks aren't shown on the menu. I guess the reason is that one large cocktail (still enough alcohol but lots of ice in it) will cost you 55 dollars.

A
Albano Rodrigues

Worst place ever! If I could give 0 stars rating I would. The drink options are between tap water, $10 soda, or $55 mixed alcohol drink. Which none is displayed on the menu. Really??? A $10 gingerale that's outrageous! When complained to server about it, he was rude try to reason their pricing saying "you're in South Beach, you shouldn't be complaining about a $10 soda!" I never had such horrible customer service! Please avoid this place! The food was also not good at all!

B
Brittany Belt

We had the same terrible experience as most of the people below. We are visiting from out of town and decided to sit a get a drink before the fireworks started yesterday. The waiter said nothing about a special or giving us 2 for one drinks. I only ordered a drink that I expected to be in a regular size glass. When he brought out this oversized drink I just assumed this is how the drinks came. When the server brought the check it said the LARGE drink was 55$!! When I asked the manager to adjust it he just tried to offer me more alcohol and that terrible, deceitful waiter automatically got an 18 percent tip added. Never coming back there again. It's places like this that give minority run establishments a bad name. I believe in Karma and they will reap what they sow.

R
Ricardo Reyna

NEVER WILL I EVER CONE BACK TO THIS PLACE! They should have a 0 star rating!! This place literally ruined my trip to Miami. First of all they will be as friendly as possible to get you to eat there. They say drinks are 2 for the price of 1 which is a lie. Only the large drinks that cost 65$ are the ones that are 2 for the price of 1. We ordered a plate that they offered us without being on the menu or telling us the price, it turned out that it the plate was 200$ and since they gave us 2 we had to pay 400$ for both and in reality 1 plate was enough but for some reason they brought us 2. The tab was 600$ in total since they include the tip already, 85$ tip to serve a table of 4. Other restaurants offered us 20% discount so we asked if there is something we could get off and they said no and they won't longer friendly. I really regret taking a seat at this place! They are THIEVES!!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU EVER EAT HERE.

N
Nana Asante-Smith

Their practices are fraudulent, purposeful, and shameless. As we were walking by trying to decide what to eat, the first waiter we encountered stated that we would receive 20% off of our entire bill. Another waiter, didn't even give us a drink menu and told us the drinks were buy 1 get 1 free. Please be clear that we are not cheap people. However, when we got our bill, it was for $210. Not only was 20% not taken off, but we had been charged $55 for each drink. The ONLY reason we signed the check after 20 minutes of going back and forth was because they said they were going to call the police. We didn't want those problems whatsoever as out of town visitors but we made it very clear that they obtained our money under fraudulent purposes because they did not follow through with their promises, which we relied on when we decided to dine with them. In the end, they added over $40 in gratuity that was not sanctioned or approved by us. What is even worse is that there were two other parties who were also distraught by what happened two them. Two women who were friends and had 3 children were charged over $500 for a basic meal. Two brothers were charged approximately $800+, unknowingly and completely devoid from what the menu stated. This entity is a fraudulent scam. We weren't so much concerned with the scam they imposed upon us, but especially because of the scam imposed upon the two brothers and two women with children. This is wrong, immoral, and criminal. Trust and believe this will be properly handled. This is not about not being diligent about reading the menu or asking necessary questions; this is about a meticulous and calculated fraud. Again, please be clear that this will be handled. Unfortunately, like us, many people won't have the time to read these reviews before they take a journey on the strip, just trying to find something to eat. Whoever their representative is need not bother responding; we are not stupid and the recourse we will take is very clear.

ZERO STARS!!! This place is a huge scam!!! We stayed at a hotel in south beach last night and my wife wanted to go out after a baseball game. So we walked around and decided to sit down at this restaurant. The guy at the host desk said it was happy hour, 20% off food and buy 1, get one free drinks. We ordered some crab cakes and two mojitos, the drinks were in giant margarita glasses, they were probably 32-44 oz. We never looked at the drink menu, just ordered what the waiter said was on special...We get the check and the total bill was $165. The drinks were $55 each!!!! Then the guys writes on the check "2 free drinks" and says we can come back anytime in the next year and we will get 2 free drinks, that's the "buy 1 get one free" the host was telling us about. Scam, Scam, scam! How is this place allowed to operate like this??

B
BmoreZinga

They are really decietful...when you hear "appetizer" you don't think it cost $150! For 2 drinks and that appetizer my bill was over $300! This is so not cool...they need to be honest and let you know these things upfront...now the food and drinks were delicious, and our waiter was awesome just not worth the amount we were charged. I will never go there again...

M
Martín Galarza

Same happens to me in this place , i wenr whit my girlfriend for this big sized margaritas knowing the price but once we sat The waiter offered an "appetizer" for three which turned out to a serving for ten. No advanced warning on how much food it would be and whit out telling is the price , it turned out to be a plate like for 8 people , at the end they charge me $150.00 for this "appetizer " plus service , plus taxes plus tip . Worst restaurant experience ever.

s
svaleri826

Wow what a tourist trap. Beware of anything without a price on the menu. Ask how much. Our party of ten each order a drink- all mojitos. There was no mention that each drink was the size of a large soup bowl costing $55 each. They bring you in with a promotion of two for one happy hour drinks. So 10 drinks was $275 with a forced gratuity of 18% added on. I sensed all the establishments on Ocean Drive in South Beach do this. The food was unremarkable!

I
Ihor Rubay

NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!I had the worst experience ever in my life. One dish and two drinks, cost my $280. We did order one thing, and the waiter heart completely different. Instead of bringing us dish for one, he decided to double the order( we ordered portion for one, he brought for two) and charged us $160 +2 drinks cost us $75 for it.NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

P
Pepijn Fens

Same as all other reviews state,we basically came in to get a simple paella and a drink. the menu the girl at the door was holding showed meals for around 25$ so we figured the paella would be in this price range as well.. Additionally there was a 2for 1 on the drinks, so what could go wrong? Big mistake, the paella we received was the most exorbitant meal I ever saw and clearly wasn't meant for two people. It did leave the two of us wondering how this would end up on the bill. Well, it smashed a 200$ hole in our limited holiday budget! And the 2 for 1 drinks? We received buckets of cocktails priced at 55$ and obviously the 2 for 1 only counts when one person orders two drinks! So that's another 110$ for drinks.. To make sure we didn't have good grounds for arguing they pull up a "special" menu showing these insane prices in a small print at the bottom. We actually never saw that specific menu when ordering the dish, which basically screams: we're going to take as much money from you as we possibly can! Bottom line: yes the food and drinks were good, but I would advice the chef to take his skills and cook in a restaurant were people actually leave with a smile on their face, because I didn't see anyone do that while we were there.

As the other reviews say, this place is a rip off. You should probably stay away. Our waitress was super nice, however she was all apart of the scam that is La Baguette. You get sold on buy one get one free drinks (pretty big drinks, though) and a free shot along with it. Hope you enjoy the drinks because you'll need it when you see your bill. The drink is maybe worth $18 - $23 but they charge you $55 dollars for it. Fifty five damn dollars. That's insane. You know how many rum and cokes I could buy with that?... Oh but it gets better.. They slap on a "Service Charge" as well. Most places add gratuity so that's cool but the service charge was $12.45. Not to mention that same charge was on each persons separate check. They say it can be adjusted but it's crazy to expect that much money for a drink. We had 5 people and the buy one get one free drinks were done between four of us. The total amount of all our bills for 6 drinks? Pretty much $300. We asked to speak to a manager but of course they know they are scam artists so it did no good. We should have asked the prices of the drinks so that's our fault but please be careful and make sure you read the reviews for places on Ocean Drive before you go to them!

L
Lauren Glover

I can't believe this place is still open! Happy hour buy one get one. I didn't even think it ask the price, I was on vacation who cares right? Well I heard all the surrounding tables raising concern during my visit so I started to get nervous. I asked our waitress 3 times these are buy one get one correct? Yes was always her answer. Even when she laid the bill down I asked her for the last time before I opened it, yes. I opened it 165.00 for two margaritas that were absolutely disgusting. I questioned it, she said buy one get one per person, so do you want your free one now? I said with all the times I asked why did you not clarify that, she said you ever asked. This place is a scam, but they have taught me a valuable lesson to always read reviews first, usually a tail tale sign. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The manager is just as rude and hateful. He called the cops on a table because they refused to pay $55 for rice and chicken. When on the menu side of rice and chicken we're $5 each... he said it came out as a dish and that dish was $55... still no where to be found on menu. They make up their own prices as they go! BEWARE!

D
Darius Vale

Pretty standard review as the rest. Tricked into a 2 for one giant sized $65 drink. This drink is 2 shots of tequila and 2 beers upside down in a huge glass. How do they expect anyone to drink two of these things in one sitting. It's my own fault I guess, I did not ask for prices. I expected the prices to be fair, far far from the truth. We then had the hot sampler. I did ask Carlos how much food it was because we just wanted to have a snack for lunch. He was adamant it was fine for two. Pretty much every appetizer on the menu came out on one giant platter. Enough food to feed 6 people. And this price is definitely not on the menu. $125.00!! The worst fried food was all we got for that. Our bill for lunch was $327.00. Absolutely absurd. After talking to the manager we received a discount of $100.00. The worst food and service I have ever seen on this planet. Monsanto has better business practices. I have never felt so taken advantage of by a business. Stay far far away from this place. Just praying on tourists is all they are in Miami for. Highway robbery, scam or whatever you want to call it, just keep walking.

Only one star because the food was delicious however, the waiter rushed us on our drink order we only got one drink 55$ we later found out. Told us that he would combine our meals and do a two for one since I wanted seafood and my boyfriend wanted steak. He said there would be a little lobster a little steak and shrimp.. when we both seemed interested the waiter ran to the back to put our order in. When our food came it was the largest lobster tail I had ever seen, three large steaks a large piece of chicken a large piece of pork a skewer of jumbo shrimp a salmon Fillet and giant crab legs.. we were obviously anticipating the bill to be high but not 350$ And Some odd dollars worth. There was an issue with my card at first being declined and at this time the waiter was being very rude with me. Finally the card when threw.. on the bill there was an 18% gratitude that was added on but said feel free to adjust. I only gave a 10$ tip because of my treatment and the lack of service We received after our food came, which made our final bill go down to 270 some odd dollars with the 10$ included. Later to find out, thank goodness for chase fraud that " someone" adjusted their tip amount to make the total bill amount add up to 320$ and some odd change. I'm perusing a dispute through chase fraud and will never be going back.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would ! DO NOT EAT HERE. They will try to scam you and trick you into buying a 2 for 1 drink special and forget to mention the one drink you are paying for is $65!!!! Absolutely ridiculous. We tried sending our drinks back right away and they kept sending different people out to talk to us and refused to let us speak to the manager. We had to go inside and chase him around to understand that we were not aware of these huge $65 drinks they were trying to sell us. Bad bad bad bad service, rude staff and rude manager. We spent over an hour arguing with them, totally ruined our first night in Miami.

Pedimos 2 café y alguna medialuna para desayunar. Nos trajeron además del café todo esto para acompañarlo. Cuando pedimos la cuenta nos estafaron con el precio. U$s 160.- No esperábamos gastar tanto dinero.

A NADIE.
