The chicken churrasco was flavorful and perfectly grilled, with a nice smoky char that enhanced the juicy, tender meat. The marinade had just the right balance of spices, making each bite delicious without being overpowering. Served with gallo pinto and house salad. Definitely a must have. The service was also great Andres was very nice and attentive.

I’ve been here many times and I always receive excellent service. The Churrasco is really good and the sides they offer are really tasty. It gets crowded on the weekends and there is a wait line but it is totally worth. They have TVs all around the restaurant and cool paintings. Also, outside tables if you enjoy sitting outside.

Food was super fresh. All the dipping sauces added a wonderful taste to each piece or the meal. Came out super fast and staff was extremely nice.

The food is great, everything we've tried has been great and the meat is always great quality. Service is fast and attentive. The live music can be too loud and makes it difficult to carry a conversation. Love the capricho dessert!

Food is great but the wait time and service is bad, took 15 min to get my coke back from being refilled, if you come here make sure you have at least one solid hour to kill. I'd give a 5 star but the service is really that bad Edit: 1/20/20 lately I have given this place another try and the food is still great but what mostly shocked me is how much service has improved over the couple months. Wait times are now minimal and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I had given them 2 stars but my last 6 visits have convinced me they now easily deserve 5 stars. Good job La Fogata and keep up the good work, will be coming back for more.

La Fogata never disappoints, very consistent quality and the meat os always tender and juicy. I always have lunch here and the service is good. So they get 5 stars!! This is my second visit and I really like this place. I've gone Friday evening and there was a live band. Also visited on Saturday for lunch and the place is excellent. Family friendly but since it's cozy there isn't a lot of room for strollers if you have small children. The food is very good, affordable and timely. Service is good as well.

You know a place is good if you leave absolutely 0 food behind. You also know if it’s good if after eating, you think to yourself “I HAVE to write a review.” My boyfriend and I got the churrasco steak and a couple sides, and this was our post night out meal, and it was so delicious, I felt recovered. I could do anything. I can’t wait to come back!

The service was special as was the food. The pork tenderloin steak was very large and cooked to perfection. Not fatty nor tough. Just right. The gallo pinto was delicious as was the appetizer of fried cheese. Food was fresh and hot and we did not have to wait long for dinner. Price was very reasonable and I know we will be back again. Kudos!!!

Greasy tostones, churrasco not evenly cooked to desired wellness, one end cooked correctly, the other end, left undercooked.

The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is because it took way too long to receive the food. Although it was a Saturday evening, there was a decent amount of customers but it wasn't full. We were seated and not even a minute later the waiter came by asking what we were going to eat. I asked him to please give us a minute as we had not had a chance to look through the menu yet. He got our drinks, and a few minutes later took our order. Two meals arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The rest of the food took about an hour after to arrive at the table. The food was delicious and good portions but our drinks were all watered down by the time we received the food. There was also live music. There is live music two days out of the week.

We really like this place. Food is good, really good, service is spotty, mostly good , the live harp player for dinner tonight though was amazing! Each time.we come it seems.better than the last.

An excellent place to visit if you’re looking for a good local restaurant, service was amazing and quick , our waitress Raquel elevated the experience to a 10/10. Food was also remarkable also considering the price , portions were generous and the meat was juicy ( you must try Baby Churrasco ) . Definitely worth a second visit

We went to have dinner tonight and for the first time we had to wait a really long time. Our waitress was a very nice Cuban lady who told us she used to live in Italy. She was nice and liked chatting. But the kitchen took forever. The quality of the food is always good.

Food is good, the natural juices from Nicaraguan are the limited items. They didn't have Cacao 😅. Besides that everything else seemed fine realistically.

BEWARE OF THIS! Before I get into the food, I have to mention an issue with the check. Our waiter, Orlando, brought us a receipt where the tax and gratuity section was covered with white-out tape. The subtotal and total didn’t add up, and when we questioned it, he quickly took the receipt, crumpled it, and blamed the machine. He then brought the correct one — this time showing the tax and gratuity. Please double-check your receipt, because the credit card machine will still prompt you for a tip — which means you could end up paying gratuity twice. Now for the food: It was my first time visiting the Kendall Drive location, and overall, the food did not disappoint. We tried a repocheta, which was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the grilled chicken with grilled onions, grilled pork with plantains, and lomo con salsa jalapeño — everything was full of flavor and well-prepared. The natural fruit juices, especially the mango and lemonade, were refreshing and complemented the meals perfectly. We did have to wait about 25 minutes to be seated, and while the food was worth the wait, the service fell short. Our waiter wasn’t very attentive or friendly, which took away from the overall experience. That said, if you're in Miami and craving authentic Nicaraguan food, I definitely recommend giving La Fogata a try — just be prepared for a possible wait and a service experience that might not match the quality of the food.

I order medium steak, and it was fully cooked. The tostón was OK but full of oil and tasteless. If you are from Nicaragua, come here for the gallo pinto, otherwise, do not waste your time

Service was totally off, after waiting for about 10 minutes someone came and took my order, then some other person brought the food and after that no one else came to check if everything was okay or if I needed something else. Finished my lunch and waited for the bill for a while, so I had to get up and ask the guy that took my order for the bill so I could pay n leave. The most amazing thing is that the tip was added to the bill for a service that it didn’t take place. Food was ok but the experience in general not the best

My husband and I went for dinner with my 90 year-old mother. I asked the waiter to please get me something from the kids menu for her because she does not eat a lot and considering today’s economy it would be beneficial not to waste any food or money on an adult plate. He told us that because today was Saturday he was not allowed to give us anything from the kids menu, I asked him why not and he said because they do not allow him to serve an adult from the kids menu. I was very disappointed in his response and my mother ended up barely eating her food. We normally go to this restaurant and have always had a pleasant experience, but today was not so good I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but because I was so insistent on ordering from the kids menu because I know my mother‘s appetite and he was just not willing to budge, not even asking for a manager.

Food was fantastic. Beware of: *** forced tip of 15% they say the systems places it that way and cannot be changed. *** if you’re not careful you will end up paying twice. Waiters get very annoyed by people checking. They are fully aware, management too. Food was very good. But the service was bad, and the check situation makes you feel uncomfortable.

We went with a large party but arrived like an hour later. The waitress took my husbands order and said “Will that be all?” And not once looked at me or directed her attention at me. So my husband thought she asked him if that was all the food HE wanted (we come across this question a lot when we eat out due to proper hospitality). She then walked away and we didn’t get her attention until a while after and I let her know she forgot to take my order. She apologized and said she did ask my husband if that was all and he said yes. She thought we were sharing one plate. It’s weird because she never looked at me when taking his order. Still, I was ignored - I didn’t know my husband had to talk FOR me. I understand it was a busy night for the restaurant - it was just odd and our food ended up coming out different times as a result. Delicious food though!

We visited this restaurant recently, arriving around 12:20 PM, and were seated promptly. Our experience started on a positive note with waters being brought out quickly. However, it took about five minutes for our server to acknowledge us. When he finally approached, he didn’t introduce himself but immediately asked if we were ready to order. Feeling rushed, we asked for a few more minutes. When we were ready, my wife ordered one type of soup, my mother-in-law chose another, and I ordered fajitas. The server informed us that the soups weren’t ready and would take about 10 more minutes. Since we specifically came for the soup, we were fine with the wait. Unfortunately, the 10-minute wait turned into 25 minutes, during which no one checked on us. We needed water and other items, but the lack of attention left us feeling neglected. When the soups finally arrived, there were still no fajitas. The server reassured us they’d be out shortly, but another 20 minutes passed with no sign of my meal. My wife and mother-in-law felt uncomfortable eating their soups while I waited for my food, which dampened the dining experience further. Frustrated, I asked to speak with the manager. When she came out, her demeanor made us feel as though our concerns were unwarranted. Instead of offering a meaningful solution or showing empathy, she seemed dismissive. Eventually, my fajitas arrived, but by then, I was already upset. I ate quickly, feeling that the service didn’t justify the money we spent. Dining out is a treat for us, and we left feeling that our time and hard-earned money weren’t valued. They even included the tip, even though we were only 3 people. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and will never be back.

I wanted to give this place a fair shot, but after my visit today, I am thoroughly disappointed. This is my second time coming here specifically for the shredded beef bowl, and for the second time in a row, I was told they were completely out.

Sitting there for 10 minutes no one came by our table. We had to go find our own menus, and anytime we waved somebody down they ignored us. We just walked out. I’ve lived in Miami my whole life, and this is the worst service I’ve ever experienced, which is saying a lot.

I had a disappointing experience here due to misleading billing practices. The restaurant added an automatic gratuity to my bill without informing me beforehand, even though I was dining alone. What made it worse is that the server brought the card machine and asked me for an additional tip, even though a tip had already been included on the bill. The receipt does say “tip is included,” but it’s printed at the very bottom and not explained by the staff. The layout of the bill is also confusing because it includes a “tip guide,” which makes customers think they should add another tip on top of the automatic gratuity. I don’t mind tipping for good service, but this felt like an attempt to get customers to double tip. Restaurants should be upfront and transparent about automatic gratuity policies, especially for single diners. I hope management corrects this practice.
