La Palma Miami Reviews
What a delightful surprise this charming hidden gem for food lovers turned out to be! We visited to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and as first-time guests, we were truly impressed. The service, warmth, and humble demeanor of the staff were wonderful. They graciously accommodated our pescatarian menu request, and each dish provided an increasingly superb tasting experience. The pairings were outstanding. We wholeheartedly recommend this special spot and will absolutely return. Thank you for the love, care, and unforgettable culinary experience!
We were in town for just the night and decided to give Palma a try and what a great choice! We did the tasting menu and wine pairing. I don't drink much so the somm offered a partial tasting which was such a thoughtful recommendation and just a great indication of that it's an establishment that cares about customer service. Wine pairings was leaning more towards natural and skin contact wines which I personally enjoy but if you don't like that, I suggest you mention it to the somm prior to ordering and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to accommodate. The food was delicious and balanced (aside from one of the first amuse-bouche that was unexpectedly tough to chew through). There were 9 courses and we left feeling quite full. Service was fantastic and they left us with a few surprises. Would definitely recommend to go check this place out.
Great menu with interesting tastes and very kind service. Super ambiance. Presumably a young team that deserves some extra support from food lovers; definitely worth the visit!!! We had a phenomenal evening. Highly recommended
I’m having a hard time putting into words how incredible this place is. The food is absolutely amazing, the service is super friendly, it’s a fine dining experience, and the staff is so professional. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of a small, cozy hole-in-the-wall and elegant decor. The thoughtfulness that goes into every dish, the presentation, and even the dinnerware is just mind-blowing. I can’t recommend this place enough. I hope it stays as low-key as I think it is. We’ve been here three times now and each time, we’re blown away. Juan is a genius, so friendly and runs a great ship. Whenever I want to show my friends the best Miami has to offer, I bring them here.
absolutely incredible. I took myself here on a solo dinner and was not disappointed. the flavors were amazing and so beautifully explained by the staff and chef! the restaurant with the open kitchen was also wonderful, I had some much fun sitting at the bar :)
10/10 experience!! We had such a fun time and really enjoyed our dishes! Loved the wine pairing led by Sean too.🍷 My favorite dishes were the scallop tartelette, fish, bread & butter, and kouign amann. We will definitely be back! 🩶
A rare gem in Miami! A spectacular meal, unique and intriguing favor combinations that will blow your mind. Hidden next to a laundromat, with barely a visible sign outside - think speakeasy. Cozy, intimate, warm space with maybe 20 seats? Chef/Owner served and announced each plate table side. 7 course Pre-fix menu with each more amazing than the last. Seasonal menu changes monthly. Do not wait to experience this restaurant.
Tasting menu for a great value! Pros: -cute ambiance, good service, high quality food, menu changes monthly Cons: -neighborhood is sketchy, wine only (no cocktails) I enjoyed dinner here! The menu is inventive and I loved that it didn’t take 3 hours to have a tasting menu experience. Not sure if we just hit a menu that didn’t appeal to our tastes, but there were 2 courses I flat-out didn’t like. 2 were phenomenal (the steak with caramelized cabbage was the highlight!). Ups and downs are part of the fun :) Don’t use that as a reason not to go, the food was high quality and imaginative and I’ll definitely give this place another try when the menu is a bit different.
Truly exceptional. Dining at Palma felt like the kind of place that will be talked about for years to come.. Warm, attentive service paired with deep knowledge of both food and wine. Every course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully explained, and the wine pairings were spot-on. An intimate, refined experience from start to finish. A true gem.
This was recommended to me by a food critic in New York City. I came in with high expectations for the tasting menu which is made from local fresh ingredients and is ever evolving. The scallop crudo, the grilled stuffed poblano pepper and the pork neck stood out. Sitting at the bar is a wonderful experience to watch the team in action. The chef and the sous explain each dish and happily answered questions.
Great food and atmosphere. Very accommodating for vegetarians as well. Highly recommend!
It’s like tasting someone’s dream!
I just had a dining experience I will never, ever forget. Exceptional and truly world-class.
Food was really, really good. The team there was also super friendly and hospitable
Juan Camillo is a phenomenal chef! Will be back!
Excellent, delicious creative food. Cordial attentive staff.
This place is the next big thing ❤️ the food is off the chain
Simply the best dining and experience ever.
Surprising and delightful.
A wonderful culinary experience. Artistic and unique dishes mostly following an East Asian motif. Flavorful but not overly rich or salted plates. My particular favorite were the grilled turbot and the koshihikari rice. The restaurant itself is a small and intimate environment. No denying it’s a strange location, but don’t allow it to be a deterrent. Palma brings much needed gourmet dining to Miami without the played out pomp and circumstance of many other recent transplants. Come here if great food is your priority.
The food was excellent. The soft gray drapes, the candles and the soft overhead lighting create a lovely ambiance. The staff is friendly, unintrusive. The service is impeccable. It's a small space. Would recommend making a reservation.
This was our second time dining at Palma, and somehow it was even better than the first. The menu changes every month, which makes the tasting experience feel fresh and exciting each time you go back. We brought two friends who were visiting and celebrating their engagement, and they were completely blown away. We did the 9-course tasting menu and every dish was vibrant, creative, and packed with flavor. The pacing and portions were perfect without ever feeling heavy, but left feeling full and satisfied. The wine pairing was also fantastic. I’m not typically a big wine drinker, but the sommelier’s selections were thoughtful and beautifully matched to each course. Every pairing felt intentional and elevated the food in a way that made the whole experience even more memorable. What really sets Palma apart is the team. The staff is professional, warm, and genuinely fun, and the whole evening feels intimate rather than formal. You can tell this group is pouring themselves into both the food and the service and takes real pride in what they’re creating. It makes the entire experience feel special from start to finish.
Palma is very special. We met the chef when he was doing a popup at NIU Kitchen. We were very impressed. This restaurant reminds me places like Casa Fofo in London and others things young chefs are bringing to this world. He will get 1 star soon and will continue with great success. Love the food, wine, music and atmosphere. Fantastic, casual, intimate lost of flavors. Will go back again and again.
Truly an incredible dining experience. Chef Juan & Chef Zé are bringing unique, delicious dishes to Miami that you can’t find at any other restaurant. The wine list is spectacular. Sara & Gaby were so hospitable, it made our night. Couldn’t recommend this spot more.
This has to be the absolute best culinary experience in Miami. Definitely would recommend to anyone who considers themselves a foodie. Although the price can be up there, I would say that it is worth it completely, especially in comparison to other higher priced restaurants.
This place was such a breath of fresh air from all of the new places in Miami that aren’t worth it. The chef is so creative and so nice, the service is the best i’ve experienced in Miami. But… the food, was UNREAL, everything was so meticulously thought out and detail oriented. The dishes were so creative and the perfect portions, Palma was incredible and I’m so happy to have gone, truly wishing them so much success.
This is the only place I’ve been to where I actually mean food, service and atmosphere were 5 stars. The place is designed to be intimate. The staff explains everything - the wines, the dishes as they’re brought out, where the ingredients come from. You’ve gotta go and experience it for yourself. It’s not often you get to meet the people responsible for the food on the table. And they are very proud of what they do, with all the reason.
Food, wine and service was absolutely amazing. I will not just recommend it but I will definitely visit it again.
I just celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday at Palma & it was nothing short of magical. The food was spectacular and the staff went out of their way to ensure he felt special. Thank you so much to the Palma staff & I can’t wait to be back soon!
Good tasting menu with good price! Food is like Michelin star restaurants. If you seat at the bar, you can watch their cooking which is bonus!
Innovative, delicious beautifully presented tasting menu. Service a tiny bit hurried. Thorough wine list but that's only alcohol option.
Are you in for New York’s ambiance or San Francisco’s ingredients? Both and more. This was one of the best dinners we’ve had in Miami. We found on NYT list and will be back. Must try
The 7 courses tasting menu were full of flavor and texture & great wine list. The atmosphere and the service at Palma were excellent! I definitely recommend visiting Palma, You will not regret!!
Palma blew me away! Impeccable set menu, each dish a flavor bomb. Service was smooth as silk, with wine pairings that hit the right notes. Skip the decision fatigue, just go and indulge! 5/5 stars, pure dining magic. ✨
Such a lovely evening! Food is not only beautifully presented but the flavors are unreal! Nothing is over seasoned so you taste each component. A must do date night!
The 7 courses tasting menu was an absolute Exceptional fine dinning experience, the quality of food & service is excellent and a great wine list. Definitely will be back to Palma!
Best dining experience I've had in a long time. Everything was outstanding, and I mean everything! I already made reservation to go back with another group of friends.
Something special happens there. The chef snd staff are clearly invested in an idea and it comes through in the food and experience. It will be interesting to see how it evolves over time.
Extremely happy i came across this restaurant. Fresh ingredients, delicate presentation, essential and yet sophisticated ingredients, presentation and taste. Great addition to Miami!
Amazing. Excellent service and exquisite food. Great vibe. Team was great. Highly recommend wine pairing
Amazing food, and experience at Palma. Informal chefs, low light/date night vibe, convenient parking all a Miami dream
I have been a few times and will continue to go! The food is delicious and creative and the spot is so charming.
Much needed authentic dining experience in Miami. Let’s gate keep her for a little while. 10/10.
Remarkable team, flawless execution, delicious meal, a wine list with a story
What an experience! My place to go whenever I’m in Miami
Fantastic meal and amazing service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Truly impressed with how creative and well thought out their dishes are. Their small team is awesome and the hospitality is incredibly warm. It’s very clear how much care and intention is put into this concept. Highly recommend.
What an enchanting evening ✨ Elegance, attention to detail, memorable experience, exceptional culinary quality, incredibly warm hospitality. My favorite dishes on chef’s menu included: savory branzino, sweet plantain brioche + coconut caramel butter, and the mouthwatering ribeye. 🤤 Michelin Star quality restaurant. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you chef 🙏
Just had the most amazing meal with my family. Juan Camilo’s work is impeccable. Each dish is an experience- light and flavorful. The desserts are incredible, especially the ice cream sandwich. Dios Mío! 🤩 Excited to see what other dishes he creates! We will definitely be back. Will add that the ambience is intimate and cozy. Staff is warm and friendly. 5 🌟 all the way.
10/10. No other way to rate it. The hospitality is the some of the best. All dishses are extremely creative and well thought. Really nothing bad to say. Would recommend to anyone. Price, experience, service and food all excelled expectations. Will come back.
$85 for 9 incredible courses made with precision and care. This was a fantastic experience. Kudos to the entire team who works here for how much they care and the seamlessness with which they operate. Your food may be run out to your table by a chef, or a server. Whoever brings it will explain in non-pretentious detail what you are about to eat and will answer any questions you have. Tasting menu changes monthly and is mostly seafood but also features 2 deserts and a meat dish as well. Ours was pork cheek. Awesome selection of wines as well. Great date spot or just a place to enjoy if you’re into food and Spanish Cuisine. If you want to understand more about the inspiration for the cuisine, google Palma, Spain and read about the coastal city in Mallorca, not far from Ibiza. It’s obvious this restaurant is a passion project for the chefs that opened it/run it nightly. They open Wednesday - Saturday which fits the name well.
The cuisine is innovative and delicious. Tasting menu is the way to go. Our favorite restaurant in Miami.
We had a phenomenal experience at Palma. The dishes featured exceptional micro flavors and the wine selection was amazing. Our waiter, Sara, was incredibly sweet and greatly enhanced our dining experience. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the unique experience offered.
This is one of a kind spot in Miami. I won’t be surprise if we can no longer get a table there by the summer so run and try it now. I suggest the bar seating for a view on the kitchen and interactions with Chef Juan. The menu changes every week or so, that’s why we keep going back! That and the lovely food, atmosphere and team! We love Palma!
Fantastic food experience, kudos to the chef for creating such delicious food. Service was also excellent - courteous, friendly, prompt. My only sort of criticism is that, to me, the savory desserts did not add to the dinner, but that's me. Also, the music was a bit loud. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. The food was phenomenal, the wine was even better. My waitress was very kind and attentive and I got to chat up the chef while sitting at the bar and watch him and his team prepare my gorgeous meal. And a 7 course tasting menu for $85?! (Wine not included) Beyond worth the price
Great set menu experience. Delicious dishes with unique flavors and ingredients.
Really enjoyed dinner here! I was very impressed with the menu, wine offerings, and service.
Awesome experience! Really thoughtful tasting menu, great personal service and killer wine pairing for a reasonable price. I haven’t been super impressed with a tasting menu in several years and this one made me happy. Thank you!
An absolutely unforgettable experience! This isn’t just a restaurant where you sit and eat—it feels like stepping into a culinary museum, where every dish is an exploration of flavors you never knew existed. Tasting these creations opens your mind to such beautiful possibilities. The atmosphere is incredible—fun, lively, and romantic all at once. The music adds so much energy to the space, making the experience even more immersive and enjoyable. Their wine selection is incredible, perfectly complementing each course and elevating the meal to another level. The eight-course meal was phenomenal, and they thoughtfully accommodated my pescatarian diet. The fish was some of the best I’ve ever had—each bite filled with love, comfort, and pure happiness. This is such a special place—a true celebration of flavor, artistry, and passion. To the chef, Juan Camilo—dining at your restaurant was an absolute delight. Your talent is truly remarkable, and this experience will stay with me forever.
Best meal I’ve had in a long time! The flavors were exquisite. The ambiance is cozy and the service was friendly and excellent. This is such a hidden gem. Everything was perfection. Kudos to the chef and his team!
How to describe a food that is more than excellent.. this is an explosion of flavors.. this is art to your senses. Regularly we don’t go out for dinner because we usually say “we can do it at home”, well not this time. Thank you for a fantastic food and service.
We went here to celebrate the 40th bday of my boyfriend & I have to say that Palma exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible and the service top notch, we recommend to get the wine pairing, the sommelier collaborated with the chef in picking the perfect wines to go with the food. 100/100
Amazing meal at Palma! Sat at the bar and ordered several things from the a la carte menu. I wouldn't expect to be writing a review about a potato, but I'm still thinking about the combination of that potato rosti and the steak. I also want to take a moment to highlight the hospitality. Every single person we encountered was engaging and warm: servers, sommelier, kitchen staff and the chef. It seems like they've really built of team of good people which isn't something you always think about going into a dining experience, but in the end it really elevated the night.
The food? Incredible. The vibe? Immaculate. And the staff? Truly the cherry on top. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and every bite and every sip felt intentional, beautifully curated, and worth savoring. Alyssa and Sean made the whole experience even more special — such a treat. Already counting down to our next visit!
I’ve been to a lot of Michelin star restaurants in Miami, and Palma blew some of them out of the water. Definitely one of my top five spots for dinner in Miami. The tasting menu was off the charts. The food was spectacular. Bravo!
Amazing creative food. My wife wants to go back every month for the new menu. A perfect date night spot. Also, this is basically a tasting menu restaurant. The wines we tried were super interesting and amazing. Next time we will get the wine pairing.
Wow! This restaurant is amazing. Serious, complex and imaginative dishes. If your sense of taste is well honed, you must go here. Has to be one of the 5 or ten best restaurants in Miami. No glitz, no BS, just amazing food.
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of trying the tasting menu here, and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Palma is a truly special place. Along with Ariette, it stands out as one of the two best restaurants in Miami. The food is outstanding. Creative, deeply flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu changes monthly, which makes every visit feel fresh and worth repeating. There’s not much else to say other than bravo. A very special mention goes to the sommelier. I didn’t catch his name, but his talent is undeniable. If the food was among the best we’ve had, the wine pairing was easily the best we’ve ever experienced. I typically avoid funky, skin-contact, or natural wines, but this pairing completely changed my perspective. Each wine was not only delicious but genuinely interesting and full of character, and every pairing felt thoughtful and precise. These are wines I would happily add to a home cellar. Truly incredible. The value is also remarkable. We paid around $200 per person including the wine pairing, which feels like a steal. If this restaurant were in Brickell or Miami Beach, the price would likely be double or triple. Even then, it would still be worth it. We can’t wait to return to Palma to explore their à la carte offerings.
Llegué a cenar sola y no me decepcionó. Los sabores eran increíbles y el personal y el chef los explicaron con gran detalle. El restaurante con cocina abierta también fue maravilloso; me divertí mucho en la barra. :)
✨Must-Try Hidden Gem✨ Overall we loved the passion, creativity and hospitality! If we were Miami locals, we would be sure to visit this place monthly just to see what chef was cooking up next. We had a lovely time visiting (in Jun 2025) and celebrating our anniversary. The team was kind, welcoming and attentive! The counter seating gave us front row seats to the culinary show (see pics) and a glimpse into the mind of chef. He shared inspiration for the dishes, fun facts and good laughs! Their rotating menu features seasonal ingredients from small producers. Our standout favorites: ⭐️ grilled fish - beautiful crust, grouper that melts in your mouth. And the sauce? I licked that bowl clean… ⭐️ plantain bread - the perfect bread does exist. ⭐️ peach - like a palate cleanser, the cream was incredible, subtle, simple and effective with a nutty hint from the candied peanut As someone who tried many tasting menus, we realize that every chef has their own vision. Our personal taste is more simple with intentional, highlighted ingredients. We felt some of the dishes were explosions of flavor with many creative additions, but we found it hard to find some of the flavors that were mentioned or that the extra ingredients detracted from the overall dish e.g. the coffee and celeriac in the fish broth were tough to notice, and the coconut water sake jus in the ice cream cake. Highly recommend trying this imaginative tasting experience. You’re sure to be (pleasantly) surprised with the creativity shown through each dish.
A thoughtful concept, excellent service, and a dining experience that comes close to captivating. We visited as a couple to try the tasting menu and had a wonderful time. The dishes offered a variety of textures and flavors that truly engaged the palate and elevated the meal. That said, a few elements could be refined: the beef tartare starter would have been better with a single, crunchier cracker layer. The tuna crudo could use a touch of finishing salt and more tomato throughout. The cod fish was another example — it lacked seasoning, had too few mushrooms, and the crust felt underdeveloped. Even so, the chef’s creativity and intent came through clearly in each dish. My favorite was the Milk Fed Porcelot — a generous, flavorful pork dish, perfectly grilled and served with a rich cream. And this comes from someone who’s not usually a pork fan! The Matcha Choux and the mini corn cake with uni were also standouts — simple, beautifully executed, and perfectly portioned to leave us wanting more. Service was attentive and on point. The space is cozy, with satisfying distance between tables. Most guests were couples, but the setting also works well for a family meal. Excited to return and see how the kitchen evolves with new creations ✨
I wanted a special experience for my boyfriend & I's 5th anniversary dinner & Palma fit the bill. Parking may be an issue but we were lucky enough to find a spot right out front. As soon as we walked in, I was greeted by name by our waitress/hostess for the rest of the evening, Sara. It felt like you were being welcomed into an intimate & uber exclusive secret club. The interior of the restaurant is dimly lit & sparse. Concrete walls & floors & a concrete bar yet still warm with wooden tables & chairs all lit by candlelight. As soon as we sat, Sara explained how the tasting menu worked. Previously, I had received a text asking about dietary preferences and so our substitutions (no pork) were discussed. Perfect! Sara then offered us a choice of their natural beers or wines. Unfortunately, neither I or my boyfriend are natural wine fans so this is the only reason why I'm not rating Palma 5-stars. The 2 white wines we chose were both so acidic & sour, I could barely drink them. Not a fan. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to some inventive cocktails. I can only imagine how amazing the chef's cocktail menu would be if only they had any. Anyways, back to the good stuff, the food! Course 1: Bouquet (french farms gems + herbs, bagna càuda) Presentation was gorgeous! A literal teeny bouquet of greens, vegetables, edible flowers & herbs served atop a delicious dip that you scooped up with the leaves and ate in 2 bites. Fresh, tasty & just plain fun to eat, not to mention gorgeous & so inventive! Course 2: Oyster (koginut pumpkin, laver, pepper) Again, presentation was *chef's kiss*. Oyster was fresh & briny & the sweet & totally unexpected pumpkin somehow worked wonderfully! Delicious Course 3: Crudo (kumquat, blue basil, buckwheat) I believe the fish was hamachi but whatever it was, it was amazing! Course 4: Shrimp (collards, boniato, rosemary) OH. MY. HEAD. That shrimp wrapped in the steamed collard greens was mind blowing. I could have eaten 20. But you only get 1 :( Course 5: Fish (squid ink sauce, papa criolla, burnt chili) Although my boyfriend thought this was delicious, I literally could not distinguish any flavours or textures in this dish. It was all the same mushiness unfortunately. Bread + Butter: (sweet plantain brioche w coconut caramel/ dried plantain leaf butter) Beautiful to look at but I just didn't get the flavours promised in the description. The bread was good (albeit not as hot, soft & pillowy as I had hoped) & the butter was great but I was looking for more. Course 6: Substitute for Pork - Fish Mousse + Cabbage Lasagna(?) Sounds grotesque but this was one of the most amazing & unexpected dishes I have EVER tried! Delicate & beautifully flavoured fish mousse layered with delicious steamed cabbage, this was such a refined & beautiful dish! So many times when you ask for a substitute, you end up with a hastily thrown together, with noticeably zero effort dish but this was not that. This was exceptional. I absolutely loved it! Course 7: Orange (granita, cantalope, kinome) Part dessert, part palate cleanser, this refreshing, delightful course was perfect after the richness of the previous dish. The cantaloupe made an already revitalizing dish even more so & the minty, slightly spicy kinome leaf added some extra zing. Course 8: Porcini (caramelized white chocolate, kale) Stay with me here... Yes this is a dessert. Yes it's main ingredient is mushrooms & yes there is kale in it but SWEET BABY JESUS this is truly one of the best desserts I have ever had in my entire life (& yes... i have eaten a lot of desserts). Not too sweet but deep, creamy decadent flavours that were just so unexpected! Such a perfect way to end a stunning meal! Sara was an absolute dream throughout as was Chef Juan Camilo who also brought out some of the dishes & explained them to us and also let us know that the menu is ever changing. I can't wait to stop by again soon to see what new magic the Chef has created.
You are going to enjoy it, you will have good food and get treated extremely nice, but you are not going to have a wow experience if thats what you are looking for. Maybe 2 of all the dishes we had were actually something new, different, exiting, the rest will be weird named stuff thats just good when you try.
The experience was a complete surprise—from the first bite, through the wine, and finishing with the ambiance and service. As for the place itself, beautifully decorated with good taste, featuring a graphic identity that seems carefully crafted to match the essence of the cuisine—subtle and exquisite. The service was excellent, delivered with care, making us feel comfortable and eager to savor every bite, especially after the detailed descriptions of each dish. The first bite was surprising—between the flavor and the crunch, it truly awakened the palate. Just as surprising was the half asparagus, which left us unsure whether the flavor was remarkable or if the precision required to slice an asparagus lengthwise and present it as an almost-absent side dish was the real highlight. The flavors in each bite were incredible, but I’m not sure if it’s a place I’d return to—whether to be surprised again by the flavors or to question if those same dishes could be slightly more generous, making the entire experience feel more complete and worth repeating.
I can’t say it’s tasty.
I paid $420 for two tastings and one wine pairing, and the staff was just... weird. Our server walked over and placed the menus on our table with the kind of perverted flair and dramatic tension you’d expect from someone flipping the river card to reveal a winning poker hand. The drama was so unnecessary; that was the moment I knew I was in for it. While the food sounded inventive, the materials from which some of the plates were made of makes you cringe as you cut through it. Worse, the actual taste left me feeling completely uninspired. It felt like they tried to take ingredients and force a "personality" into them just to create something unique enough to command a premium price it didn't actually deserve. The staff felt cold yet attentive. When my wife mentioned she didn’t like the dessert, our server overheard and almost tried to shame us. He gave us this subtle, condescending lecture on the "complexity of the foam" surrounding the ice cream. It felt like the whole operation was run by a low-IQ but ambitious team of pompous chefs who had sold a dream to their staff that they couldn't actually deliver. We honestly had a good time just experiencing the comedy of it all. I’d give it one star, but I’m going with 3—simply "A" for effort. I’m no wine snob but they tasted cheap and most had a bitter after taste. Cool ambiance.
Food was good. Wine pairing wasn’t great.
Don’t prefer to leave so-so reviews and because I hope to see the restaurant stay and see this chef do great here are some things that could use attention. From the moment you walk in there is a cleaner/bathroom like smell. When I smelled it I was inclined to leave and try somewhere else. I stayed because there is no way to call the restaurant and an advance reservation is required thru Resy with a hold deposit. No easy way to change my mind or resolve from the moment I walk in is not helpful, and stayed given that while hoping the food was good. The food was fine, if you’re a cook you know the ingredients and how fresh things should be. Most raw seafood items tasted fishy with too strong a smell that lingered. This was the case with the raw scallop at the beginning of the meal. For the price point please don’t use the cheapest fish that is monkfish. Monkfish has a meaty consistency, and if going for lobster then use lobster or something with much better quality. The plantain bread and ribeye were excellent. The service was great. If going to charge $25 for a glass of wine please pour according to standard, which is more than a tasting glass size, which was what I was served. Given that I didn’t order another glass. Portions are small as meant to be a for a tasting experience. The reasoning for the low review is because of the barely there ambiance, missing freshness of food and flavors that missed the mark.
Disappointing Experience Despite Michelin Recognition We chose Palma based on its Michelin Guide mention and strong Google ratings, but left feeling underwhelmed. The restaurant primarily pushes their set menu. Food quality was inconsistent—about half the dishes were bland and less creative than expected given the reputation. Presentation was acceptable but nothing memorable. Our main issue was the rushed service. Despite the restaurant being busy, we never felt we could relax and actually enjoy our meal. Each course felt hurried, which significantly detracted from what should have been a special dining experience. The wine selection by the glass was limited—only 2 red options available, which was surprising for this caliber of restaurant. Adding insult to injury, a 20% service charge was automatically included on the bill despite the subpar service. When service is mandatory-gratuity level, it should be exceptional—not rushed and inattentive. For the price point and reputation, we expected far better. There are many excellent dining options in Miami that offer superior food, service, and value
Overpriced, pretentious (especially for the location) and overwhelmingly fishy. Not good for groups. I honestly wouldn’t have gone if their website had been actually informative about the limitations of the tasting menu and beverage options. Nothing but EXPENSIVE wine by the bottle. Nothing by the glass. No mocktails, cocktails, sodas or beer. Just wine by the bottle and bottled still or sparkling water. The service was excellent. But if you don’t want every savory dish reeking of a strong fishy element, pass. The desserts were the saving grace, along with the sweet plantain bread with caramelized coconut butter. Fog leaf ice cream had a unique grassy flavor and the roasted peach in a white chocolate mousse was excellent. I also loved the chile-spiked pare de choux filled with rosemary pasty cream - exquisite!
Others have mention to me about having dinner while Ana are at Miami restaurants but I never believe them, until now seeing it first hand. So this past weekend, I took my wife to Palma. Dinner was great but. If you see Ana having dinner, for that night at Palma, go eat elsewhere. They worry about taking photos while Ana pushes her lib views as she does on those weekly shows. It’s all for show and couple bucks. My server told my wife and I, desert will be out shortly as they are attending to a VIP. I do not like talking this way, but this VIP most certainly can buy that VIP 10 fold!
