Latin Cafe Miami Reviews
Absolutely amazing food, not too expensive. The staff were warm and friendly. Do try the fried plantains stuffed with shrimp🫠. A perfect hideaway during busy art week. Not too busy.
If you're ever staying on Miami Beach, visit this cafe. We came here the day we landed, food was amazing, servers are very attentive and know the menu when you are asking questions. I will definitely be back for that chicken.
We came to Latin Cafe looking for a basic meal for not too much money. What we found was a very down to earth basic eatery with amazing flavor. The roast pork sandwich was a good amount of pork with onions and crispy string fries filling a plate sized section of Cuban bread. My wife enjoyed an order of pepper chicken which came with two sides. She chose the beans and rice and plantains. Again the flavor was better than expected. I recommend anyone looking to eat a quick meal in a diner atmosphere to check this place out. EDIT: The food was so good we returned the next day. We enjoyed grilled shrimp(camarones a la plancha) and shrimp creole(camarones enchilada) with plantains, white rice and black beans. Delicious food again. 10 ⭐️
On our trip to Miami we were searching for Authentic Cuban food and this place was within walking distance of our hotel ans the beach. The Food is TOP Tier Authentic!! We have ate lunch here two days in a row and now breakfast and in addition to the great food it’s cheap!! A must try if your looking for great taste!
Great spot very friendly staff food was delicious
Great affordable food with very cordial service. We stopped here to eat two days in a row. The service was great as was the food. Prices are reasonable for the area.
While on vacation, my whole family wanted to sleep in. Since I am an early person, I went out to find coffee. I stumbled across this restaurant by my hotel and ordered a hot breakfast. I visited every morning for a week. On the 2nd day that I visited, there were a couple old regulars offered me a shot of coffee. Ever since then, I was hooked. It is now one of my favorite things to order in Miami! All the staff and people in the restaurant were all friendly.
I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was top-notch, even better than what you'd expect at a four-star hotel. Every staff member was incredibly warm and attentive. The flavors of the food perfectly matched Asian tastes, making me feel right at home. Dining here was such a joy, and their coffee was fantastic too! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and excellent service!
Cafe con leche is delicious. Staff: very friendly and very attentive Atmosphere: small but spaced out Food: I got the steak and grits. Grits were really good. Steak was okay. We also got pancakes and sausage omelet. Both were good. We were just driving and decided to try this place for breakfast. Prices were really low and food was good. I would recommend if your just looking for a quick place to eat breakfast. Not sure about lunch or dinner. Menu looked good though!
Great breakfasts and really nice people :)
Casual cafe/diner. We got full breakfasts for a fantastic price, and a freshly made latte is included with every breakfast meal. They also make freshly squeezed orange juice. Would recommend!
I love this Cuban food spot. A hidden gem on 41st street. The best
The food was affordable and very delicious...however once u get ur food it seems like u are forgotten...
So highly recommend this place! If you’re in Miami and looking for some authentic and delicious food that won’t break the bank, do yourself a favor and stop by this place! I was in town for 5 days and stopped by this place 3 times! The servers are friendly and the portions are huge. Can’t recommend this place enough
Food is simple and delicious. The breaded fish with mixed rice and beans amazing. Also got the mini churrasco, the meat was flavorful and well seasoned.
Family owned. Super warm great & service. Delicious & authentic food.
One of the best meals I've had in Miami Beach. Finally something authentic and delicious, not a place looking to cater or bilk tourists. It's just incredibly delicious food that warms your soul. Pair that with great service and it's a huge win for dining in Miami Beach. I will happily go back here any day. Try the vaca frita!
Good food at a reasonable price. The Cafe con Leche was excellent and servers were friendly and attentive. I had Bisftec Empanizado, white rice, black beans and maduros. It brought me back to the island, it was that good. Two days prior I had a Cubano to go and it was delicious. Is not a fancy place, it is a locals place and it is all about the food. Can't wait to travel again to Miami because there is plenty of stuff in the menu I want to try. Highly recommend!
This is why we love hole in the wall restaurants! The Cuban food is amazing! Hell the coffee is amazing too! Best coffee my wife had in Miami and Texas! My wife ordered the Pepper Steak. We just love the Cuban plating. The black beans, white rice, and plantains that comes with your dishes are the best. I highly recommend this place.
While I neglected to take any pictures, my wife and I just got done dining at this wonderful little hidden gem. From the wait staff, to the quick service, this place was amazing!! I had the Cubano Sandwich and it was awesome! My wife had the chicken breast from the grill and it was also amazing. Everything had SO much flavor, each one unique and delicious. The shakes were top notch too, I had the strawberry banana and she had the Mango. The sweet plantains were excellent as well. Our take, this is a great hidden gem with no frills, just great food and amazing people!
The food was very good. The coffee was excellent. 10/10 on the coffee. Service was fast. Prices were a nice break from the tourist pieces you pay on Collins Ave. I would definitely go back.
Couldn't be better. Also great prices, especially compared to anything around there
This place is perfect for your Morning breakfast, brunch or lunch. Mom and pop style with day specials with an amazing price. The girls have an amazing service, specially Helena. If you are at fountain bleu or edenrock etc, this is your place. 5 minutes walk over the bridge. Def my go to.
The hotel where we stayed recommended this restaurant. My wife had the Cuban Sandwich and I, the breaded chicken which came with rice & beans and fries. Portions are huge but did my best to help my wife and finish mine, but to no avail. Was very busy at lunch, so a little patience but definitely worth it. We will be back when next in Miami, so give it a try!!! Staff were terrific as well
I had the breaded steak with rice and beans for breakfast 😃 the rice was a little old but WOW THAT BREADED STEAK WAS SOOOOO GOOD. They play Mana inside and the ladies working there were attentive as they could be. While the place could be cleaned up a little more (like walls) it gave it personality. Latin Cafe is the type of place you stumble on by accident and come back over and over. Omg that 🥩 steak Oh yea. Try the tostada. If you love carbs and butter and want it toasted….try the tostada. Secret item you have to try. Ham and cheese empanada
It’s nice that places like this are still around. An easy going place, that has strong coffee, the news on tv, and good food. I came in for breakfast and stayed with my computer to work for a while and they did not complain. The staff is patient, regular folks. They don’t over sell or are pushy like in some tourist traps nearby. I would go back.
If you’re staying near Generator Miami it’s about a 20 min. Walk (you can take the bike if you’re staying in Gen Miami- free 2 hour rental). Safe to walk alone if you’re solo traveling, just wouldn’t recommend walking at night. I enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. They toast the sandwich right in front of you. It took 10-12 minutes before we had our order taken, but our server was kind and it was very busy. My friend ordered the chicken soup it was delicious and definitely looked homemade. Overall good food and environment.
One of the nicest places to eat in Miami. Nothing fancy but good flavor & generous portions at a very humble price. We found it as our hotel was close by. Nice meats, grilled to perfection accompanied with choice of 2 sides. Service is super friendly. It was so good we had dinner the night before & came back for lunch the next day. We will be back for sure 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Big thank you to Latin Cafe for making our stay in Miami memorable
I’m fromCentral Florida and was visiting Miami Beach for the weekend and decided to stop in here for breakfast this past weekend. The breakfast special was amazing, we had the potato onion omelette, french toast and the coffee con lech was spectacular. Server was really nice and talked to us a little bit about how they prepared for the hurricanes being so close to the beach and we even got to see a pic of her family! Super friendly staff, great restaurant and amazing food.
Amazing service, they have the best breaded chicken I’ve ever tasted for kids.
Amazing, authentic cuban food. Definitely would eat here again!
Perfect. If you have even the start of a hangover, please go here. First, the food is amazing. Second, the literal fresh squeezed orange juice can't be beat. Third, you get so much food for the money. You can top it all off with some lottery tickets. You won't be disappointed if you have breakfast here.
This place was the best Cuban place I have eaten while staying in Miami. The food and drink was more affordable than all the other places I went to. The portion sizes and food quality were much better here than anywhere else I have eaten on South Beach Miami. Cuban coffee was superior and for my meal I had the steak, peppers, with rice/beans. Friendly staff and really relaxed environment. The My only regret is that I didn't get to have 1 more meal from Latin Cafe before I left Miami.
We stopped by mid day for some coffee and a pastries. We had beef and Ham & Cheese Empanada. The beef empanada was full of beef with a nice flaky crust and the ham and cheese was full with lots of cheese and ham, it was nice and cheesy. The coffee was piping hot. All the staff was nice and friendly and reminds you of your local hometown diner. We came back the next day for breakfast and a different day for their Ceaser Salad.
In a touristy beach area that is overpriced, Latin Cafe is a breath of fresh air. It's a simple Mom n Pop restaurant but it serves it's purpose. The most expensive item is the Churrasco Skirt Steak at $18.99, all Shrimp dishes at $14.99 for 7pcs of shrimp and the large soups are $5-6 just to give an example of the menu prices. I ordered a dish that wasn't on the menu. Camarones al Ajillo with rice & beans and Maduros (sweet plantains) for $15.99. I also ordered a Cuban Soup, 2 chicken Empanadas, a croquette and a Papa Relleno. The rice was absolutely perfect! As you can see from my pics, I wiped the plate clean! The empanada melted in your mouth. It was so good I ordered another. I could eat here every day! Is the atmosphere like Mangos? No, but I'd have this anytime without being nickel and dimed especially if on a value budget. Another great point to note is that both the Collins Express Trolley and the Middle Beach Trolley stop close by. You'll see a lot of locals dining here. A side note: I was chatting with some locals and they shared a shot of Cortada with me. This place is like a little bit of home. I highly recommend. Salud
Amazing food (and coffee) for a great price. I stopped here twice, once for breakfast and another time for lunch. I wish we had a place like this by where I was.
Tasty food, friendly service, good prices, authentic Cuban. I was only in Miami for a weekend and I went here twice. First straight from the airport for a Cuban sandwich for lunch - piled high with ham and pork, with just enough mustard and pickle on a perfectly toasted bun. The fried plantains, tostones, and moros rice were tasty as well. I went back for breakfast - steak and eggs - every bite was delicious.
Incredible food. If you’re staying anywhere in mid beach, don’t miss a day here. Beans, maduros, empanadas, croquetas, and every entree we got over our time never missed. Even got a salad to get some greens, and it was large, inexpensive and delicious. Highly recommend.
Seriously some of my favorite meals that I’ve ever had! Lomo saltado and beef skirt were our favorites. Breakfast was delicious as well! And the staff are so friendly!
A Hidden Gem for Spanish-Cuban Cuisine I recently discovered this wonderful Latin cafe and I’m so glad I did! If you’re looking for authentic Spanish-Cuban food at great prices, this is the place to go. The quality of the food here really stands out. Every dish I tried was prepared with care and packed with authentic flavors. You can tell they take pride in their cooking and use quality ingredients. What impressed me most was the excellent value. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering how good the food is. It’s rare to find a restaurant where you get such high quality without breaking the bank. Whether you’re craving traditional Cuban classics or Spanish favorites, this Latin cafe delivers on both taste and value. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Latin cuisine at a fair price. 😊
It’s a nice small business with lots of tasty menu choices. The service was great and attentive. Not as pricey as some of the other restaurants in the area.
Simple and perfect! The boiled yuca is a must try! Had chicken soup because I was recovering from a cold and it was delicious. The black beans are yummy and make sure to try the 4 leches desert!!! Will always go back :)
Tasty food and lovely service from friendly ladies. My food was good but would have been MUCH better if it were served hot. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delightfully delicious.... expensive, but worth every yummy drop! My biggest complaint was that i wasn't told of all of the ingredients within my sandwich and there were things within it that I didn't want/like such as mustard and tomatoes.
Latin Café is a solid option if you’re in the South Beach area of Miami and looking for a quick, casual Latin dining experience. Unlike many sit-down restaurants in the area, this spot offers a faster alternative. We ordered Cuban sandwiches with a side of French fries. While I was hoping for higher quality from the sandwiches, they were still very solid. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. If you’re looking for a fast sit-down meal, I’d recommend giving this place a try. Personally, I’ll continue exploring other options for Cuban sandwiches in the future.
Latin Cafe is a Cuban restaurant, which serves grilled chicken, grilled fish, salads, beans, rice, and potatoes. The food is good, flavorful, colorful, and healthy, and the interior is artistic in certain parts, such as the decorative floors. The atmosphere is not the most presentable, and much can be done to create a clean and dignified dining space. The walls can be decorated in a way that creates a comfortable and eye-pleasing interior.
Random lunch stop. Very basic but very nice. Stop by but dont expect luxury. Expect good value, wholesome food.
Pretty solid Cuban sammie. I know this because we bought the sandwiches to go, ate it two hours later on our flight back to NYC, and it was still good. BF ordered some fried pork chunk sammie with potato sticks in it, and that was pretty good too. Would love to come back next time for a fresh sandwich.
Basically a hole-in-the-wall latin diner; hence my lower score on atmosphere. But what it lacks in atmosphere doesn't matter because the food and service were great. Had a couple of sandwiches and the fried cassava. The pork was cooked to the right tenderness. The steak was not overcooked. They nailed the fried cassava. Staff were super friendly, attentive, on top of their game, and really seemed to enjoy working there. That's usually a good sign. So if you're walking around the beach in the 30s-40s blocks of Collins, take a little walk left over the bridge. It's a heck of cheaper for a great meal.
Eggs were too runny for mine & my mother's taste but the service is friendly. Took longer to get the bill than food but we enjoyed our time together. Our food indicated it came with coffee and milk but we had a hard time gaining the servers attention. Cuban espresso was great! The three pieces of sausage is the 'side' for $2.99(bit expensive for three pieces).
I came at around 8:30AM in a Wednesday the cafe type restaurant was around 1/2 full and everyone seemed to be having a great time. When we entered the restaurant we were not seated or treated in any manner. We walked up to the counter and said we would like to dine in here so they seated us and gave us some buttery bread which was a bit to salty for my taste. I ordered the roasted pork that I could chose 2 sides so I chose the rice and beans. The pork however was amazing and flavorful and the rice and beans were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The pork also only cost around $9 so it was well worth it. I also ordered the fish sandwich the next day which was well cooked and the fish was flavorful and the bread complemented it amazingly. Which was also $9 and worth it. Overall if you don’t mind slow service and your looking for a good cheap bite I would Totally recommend this place. And the parking is easy because there is a Walgreens which has free parking and is a 5-7 minute walk from there.
This was a fantastic find in Miami Beach. We asked the locals where we could find the best place for a great lunch in Miami beach. They suggested the Latin cafe. It's not very impressive from the outside. It's dated on the inside. Service was acceptable. Very friendly people. But we were most excited about the quality quantity and pricing of our lunch. I had the Cuban sandwich and honestly have never had a better Cuban anywhere. Somehow the bread absolutely made the sandwich magnificent. If you're looking for great food at a great price look past the front door and get into the latin Cafe. It would help if you spoke a little Spanish but they did find an English speaker in the back to help with our order. Good luck
Lots of items on the menu. Came for dinner Tuesday night and they were out on what I wanted so I got the pepper chicken and it was ok. Yellow rice was cold and stale. Plantains were yummy. Our server was ok she was nice but she had an attitude with every table it seemed like. I don't speak Spanish but my friend knows Spanish and said that she was talking about us to her coworker at the counter. I watch her make faces and giving attitudes and making faces behind people's back. The other waitress seemed friendly. Nice open restaurant with lots of seats and you get a lot of food for $10
Good food, but the automatic 15 percent gratuity feels coercive. And, if anything, incentivizes the staff to be less accommodating than they would be if tipping was strictly "opt-in"
Bad service but the food was okay. Two waitresses and they never offered us a refill when i had my empty glass sitting on the corner of the table. The Caesar salad and dressing was nasty. $31 tips included
Best cuban coffee! staff is always busy. Edit: I went yesterday evening and when I got my changed and I asked the lady to please give me an entire bill ( my dollar bill had half missing) she said she didn’t have another one and left! then I called her again and asked if she had coins? she said no and obviously she was not happy and with bad attitude after my husband asked her, she just tossed me the coin. It was just a dollar I know! but her attitude was TERRIBLE! plus we are regular costumers. FYI they say it closes at 8pm, but if you go let’s say 7:45pm, its already closed.
I got raw chicken in my meal. Extremely disgusting and unsafe
Drab decor. Server didn't tell me the fatty fish filet came with soggy frozen vegetables. Don't tip. They automatically add a 15% gratuity.
Cuban sandwich and the empanada were pretty good but we've never had it so nothing to compare it to. They ran out of the special, "ropa vieja" and it was not 1pm yet. Waitress suggested "filetillo de res" and the picture showed pieces of beef with onions and peppers. Well... I got a plate with almost all pieces of charred beef. When I brought it up to the waitress she said that's hote they make it. I showed how charred it was and she walked away. I guess she didn't know how to handle a complaint. I was not trying to return it... I ate the rice, beans and plantains... just wish she had acknowledged it was burned to a crisp and apologize. Oh!! And bread they use is sitting against the wall...some of it exposed. Yuck!
