Mac's Club Deuce Miami Reviews
My friends and I visited Miami for the first time and found this bar on the way home from the beach. The happy hour prices, cash only, and dive bar atmosphere were wonderful. We are all originally from small towns in Texas and nothing feels more like home than a dive bar. It was not until our third visit in 24 hours that we learned the history of the bar. Truly amazing that after all these years the bar stays true to its dive bar roots.
Mac’s Club Deuce is super cute, it’s one of the oldest clubs in Miami, and the moment you walk in, it feels like you’re stepping back in time. It has such a retro, vintage vibe, and I just loved it. The service was really good, the drinks were tasty, and the overall ambience is just so magical. I really hope they keep it like this for many more years 🙏there aren’t many places in Miami that are this well-kept, so I really appreciate that they’ve preserved it so nicely. They’ve kept the vibe just as it should be, haven’t over‑remodeled or tried to modernize it, and it still feels truly historical. This place is really special, and I hope it stays exactly like this for a long time.
Absolutely amazing spot. If you are in Miami and you like a good dive bar to get away from the flashiness of the city, come here!! Henry the door man is a legend! Such a cool guy and very personable. We came back a second night and he recognized us and said hi, even grabbed us some stickers. Very cool experience and a great vibe. CASH ONLY BAR.
Exactly what you expect from dive bar / home in the wall. Bartender was very friendly. The local patrons i met there while drinking were nice and informative.
Best bar in SoBe Miami😁 Cash only and Happy Hour from 8am!!!! to 5pm😁🍺 Easy going stuff, good dive bar🍺🍺🍺🥳 Restroom is the same like in the movie "Trainspotting"😂🤷🏼♀️
We saw this bar on our US Haunted tours and the atmosphere is awesome. Old school feel, great drinks, good prices, cool people. You have to make a stop here if you come to South Beach.
I visited Mac’s Club Deuce because I was intrigued by its reputation as Anthony Bourdain’s favorite spot in Miami. The experience did not disappoint. This is a dive bar in every sense, featuring a snake-shaped bar that feels like a relic from another era – a rare gem you just don’t see anymore. The happy hour is the real deal: buy one drink, and you get another free. Just make sure to bring cash because they don’t accept cards. The atmosphere is incredibly dark, making it easy to lose track of time, and the clientele is a fascinating mix of characters. Everyone sits neatly lined up, watching the bartender, but eager to spark a conversation. Smoking is allowed inside – whether it’s cigarettes or cigars – adding an old-school vibe to the place. The bathroom, however, is an adventure in itself: filthy, with the stench of stale urine that seems like it’s been there for ages. You even need to ask for the code to enter, which somehow adds an exclusive touch to its unapologetically neglected state. The bartender was excellent, professional, and clearly in command of the space. Pets are also welcome, giving the place a surprisingly warm touch. There’s a pool table and a jukebox to round out the experience.
**A South Beach Gem: Mac's Club Deuce** If you're looking for an authentic, no-frills bar in South Beach, *Mac's Club Deuce* is a must-visit! As Miami's oldest bar, it oozes charm and history while staying true to its laid-back, unpretentious vibe—a refreshing break from the glitz and glam of South Beach. Our server, Jason, was absolutely amazing. He was super kind, cool, and made us feel right at home. His warm personality added so much to the experience. Drinks are a steal here with their *buy one, get one free* deal during happy hour (which lasts until 8 PM). The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, making it a perfect spot to meet people who genuinely like people. Whether you’re starting your day early (yes, they open early!) or winding down for the evening, Mac’s Club Deuce is a place you’ll want to keep coming back to. It's the kind of bar that feels like a community—a rare find in South Beach. Don’t miss out on this iconic spot. It’s more than a bar; it’s an experience! --- Let me know if you'd like to tweak it!
One of the greatest dive bars in Miami (and US). It’s no frills and sticks to its tradition of cash only and smoking allowed. Full of locals and tourists, it’s a friendly bar with cheap drinks. If you’re looking tonight take a break from the flashy night life of South Beach, I highly recommend coming here. Note: buy a jacket or shirt from there to get stickers and there’s a pool table that’s usually packed with players ready to play.
Cool atmosphere, I can see why Anthony Bourdain would like it here. Cigarette smoke in the air and cheap drinks. They have an all day happy hour that goes until 5pm and it’s buy one get one. Great deal, fun atmosphere/dive bar.
Bartender was nice. Drinks were cheap. Ambiance was trashy. Just what I wanted
Best dive bar in South Beach, dont get ripped off on ocean drive, get yourself to Deuce for a raw atmosphere and sit yourself at the bar. Top service, great duke box and great place to meet all walks of life.
"The Deuce," as locals call it, is the oldest bar in Miami Beach (and Miami-Dade County for that matter). I lived in Miami Beach for 10 years and the Deuce is always at the top of my list for beer break and other libations to escape the summer heat, especially during their long happy hour. It's dark and the A/C is on full blast. During happy hour, all drinks are 2 for 1. You pay and you get a chip for your second round. Cash it in then or pocket it for later. You're not going to find a Modelo Especial anywhere on the beach for $7, much less a pair of them. Locals come here for a reason. One of the absolutely best things about Mac's Club Deuce is the staff. In the 20+ years I've been going there as a local and a tourist, they've always employed great bartenders who are prompt, friendly and professional. I want to give a special shout out to Jason, who served us on multiple days during our August 2024 trip. Super friendly guy and very inviting. Thanks, Jason! Side note: The bar is full-liquor and is cash only. Smoking is permitted, so there's no food served, but the best sandwich in the world is across the street at La Sandwicherie.
Oldest bar in Miami with the best vibes. Definitely hit up happy hour! Everyone is super friendly even if you are from out of town. They do allow smoking inside so if that is not your vibe don't go.
Amazing spot for a drink. Funky and comfortable.
It's a damn good thing I had other plans ... I could have stayed all weekend! My wife and I where there Friday the 13th. It came recommended by a patron at another bar, and he said we would like it. He was wrong ... we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! This was definitely my kind of dive! The bartenderess (I am ssssoooo sorry I don't remember the name, I want to say Amanda, I am hard of hearing and it was a long day) came up to us, took our drink order, brought our drinks, and then asked us typical bartender questions (where ya from? What brings you here? Etc) when she found out it was our honeymoon, she genuinely congratulated us and bought us a drink. We stayed for about an hour or two, and when we were leaving we asked if we could take a couple of clean drink coasters for our bar at home. She hooked us up! She is an amazing and fun bartender and the bar itself, can't wait to get back to spend more time there! ACES TO THE DUECE!
Best bar on the East Coast! Some say dive, but that's just a label! Mac's Deuce is like Buckingham Palace if they let overweight, alcohol loving folks like myself through the doors. Just a really friendly place! The bartenders are great conversationalists and make you feel like you are just as welcome as the locals. I could waste your time by writing about the 2 for 1 happy hour, but that really doesn't matter as I'd pay twice the cost to drink here. Thanks so much! I'll be back as soon as I can!
Came here a few months ago whilst on a road trip. Cool interior with lots going on, drank plenty of cold High Life, my friend had some craft beer. Prices are good, cash only. Service was excellent served all night by a bartender who used to run a pub in Clapham so was good chat
OK, so this place isn't gonna be for everybody unless you give it a chance. Best description is its a old fashioned dive bar. If you're a tourist it's gonna feel like a authentic dive bar. I described it to my friends like the one out of terminator 2 at the begining "give me your boots bar". However, this place, while loud and buzzing is friendly and has a great atmosphere. Drinks are pretty much the cheapest you're gonna get near the beach, 2 for 1 on top of that before 5pm. The place is full of every type of human you can ever imagine. Felt threatening at first. Went back 3 more times. 💯 give it a chance.
Happy hour between 8am to 5pm - buy one get one free. Nothing can go wrong. Great spot to check if you’re in town.
Randomly came across this place after getting a sandwich across the street and are we ever glad we stopped in- Old school dive bar by the beach. Has a real local bar feel with a friendly atmosphere. I cannot remember her name but the lovely bartender ran us through the entire history of the place which was fascinating. Happy hour specials like I've never seen .
I love this bar. I have been going here forever. Amazing. There is a short man with a total problem. I am sure yall know who. Please fix it. Help him. He needs it. Please. Do yall know napoleon? Xoxo
This is a proper dive bar. It is oozing with character, from the neon to the sticker and graffiti covered toilets. I repeat. It’s a dive bar - so if that is not your thing you will not enjoy this - but if you do. You’ll love it. Come play pool, watch a game, kick back with some beers.
There's a lot of history to this place. If smoking indoors bothers you and you're looking for something fancy, look elsewhere. If you're looking for remnants of simpler times, this is a great casual spot. The "cash only" thing is a bit of a oddity and inconvenience, so make sure to bring or get cash ahead of time.
We come from NY 4tn of July Trip, first time and the experience was great!! Tara was our bartender and she is the most friendly bartender I have ever met, they got a pool table good choice of music. Ps it’s an only cash bar but price are very reasonable great drinks. This is a place I will always come to, when ever I come to visit Florida as long as Tara is here !!!!! She is just amazing !! Thank you again !!!
Mac's is an excellent dive to visit if you're rollin' solo. Very easy to spark up conversation with both locals and other visitors. Highly recommended for a game of pool as well!
Fortunately I wandered in this establishment after leaving a convention and quickly discovered this to be my favorite new spot in South Beach. I met at least half of the people there and had a great time. Great vibes, great music, great prices, great service.
Easily the best bar I've been to in the last 10 years. The club was crowded and we went outside, the bouncer brought us cups so we could keep drinking without having glass bottles. Go out of their way with every customer and it shows
Just what you would expect from an almost 100year old Bhaar, great service from Jason at the bar, on point history lesson if you explore it!
Great Bar, Great Atmosphere, Friendly staff, Cheap drinks!
Love this place. I got engaged here to my wife
One of the best dive bars I've ever visited. Went here on a Saturday night and had a blast. Aaron behind the bar is a legend. Over the course of several hours, I stuck up a number of conversations with an eclectic mix of regulars and newcomers. Never a dull moment .And the music selection is on point 🤟 Highly recommend
This place immediately felt like home . I’ve never walked into a bar and smelt so much hope and so much despair . This place is EPIC. I can see why this was Anthony Bourdain’s favorite dive bar in the world . Playboy named it one of the best dive bars in the world !!! This place reminds me of all the legendary dive bars that have sadly died . This place is 99 years old . Imagine if these walls could talk ? If you look close enough , it does tell a story !
I’ve been to many dive bars throughout my life and I can say with utmost confidence that this is by far the greatest bar I’ve ever been to . 10/10. Change nothing
This is the bar that all the contemporary hipster 'dive bars' are trying to emulate. They really don't make them like this anymore. We found ourselves coming back several times during our week long stay in Miami after wandering in and having a great night. The bar staff were really welcoming and friendly. Bouncer was hilarious. Other patrons generally friendly and some real 'characters'.
Sweet dive bar.. Best modelo I ever had. It was the limes. They had the most amazing juiciest limes I’ve ever tasted, and it was quartered!. Completely changed the taste for the better. Best experience in Miami i ever had.. will return. Bartenders were cool as well, let me use my laptop at the bar without prejudice..
One of the most fun bars I’ve been to. Day drinking with the locals is great
This bar was awesome to me, but that may be a more rare take. Smells like cigarettes right when you walk in, there's a pool table, cash only, neon lights. Dive bar classic. But it also has TVs for movies/sports. The bartender was super chill and patient. The crowd was cool (but not in the trendy young way). This was probably one of my favorite experiences despite being a quick stop between two others.
Great legendary dive bar. Rough around the edges but in all the right ways. Cash only.
Cool hole in the wall dive bar. Angel, the bartender is awesome.. Strong drinks. Happy Hour prices almost all day long. Nice atmosphere with pool tables and juke box.
Dark and smoky with a lively and friendly bar crowd. Beyond the unbeatable happy hour prices, watching the 2 bartenders handle swarms of crowds coming in and out was a spectacle to watch. These were the fastest and most efficient bartenders I’ve ever seen in all my years. Like watching your favorite sports hero in their prime, these guys were masters of their craft. Truly impressive.
Brilliant, basic dive bar. $6 beers and also nice playlist on touch tunes.
Wonderful dive bar. $6 Yeungling that came with a poker chip that gets you another beer for free! Pool table that had regulars playing and having a good time, smoking allowed, cash only but there's at ATM that only charges just under $3, and ask the bartender for the unlock code for the bathroom. Do yourself a favor and go have a beer that won't leave you poor in a great little local bar.
The Deuce is a special place, the oldest bar in Miami since 1926. Open from 8am to 5am it’s a place to listen to jukebox joints, play pool, have a few beers, watch the Sopranos, and have conversations with strangers. Hard to explain it, but it’s an unassuming bar that keeps its identity away from the glitz and glamor of Miami. It’s unmistakably a classic dark American dive bar (cash only too). If you need a place to reset, this can be your shrine
Seemingly from another time and place, the Deuce is a Miami Beach oasis... A real deal genuine (not for the faint at heart) dive bar, hidden among the posh SoBe eateries & boutique hotels. A cool place to get some of the the cheapest drinks from the oldest bar in town while being entertained by a never-ending parade characters that walk in and out of the place.
Amazing staff and amazing drinks! Best bar in South Beach!♣️
This is a lowkey local bar which is something I gravitate towards. I didn't eat here but the drinks were great and its a place where I enjoyed just relaxing and not a lot of loud energy. The barkeep was very friendly and down to earth.
An Institution, oldest bar in the city of Miami! I have been a fan since the late 80s, I used to sit down with the owner Mac, after my graveyard shifts at the News cafe and shoot the shit, while he drank his 8 AM Coffee. He Passed away at 101 years young, but the place still has an amazing vibe. Always packed with locals & tourists. It Has a great jukebox, 241 happy hour,, $3 Drinks! till 5 PM , and allows indoor smoking, Cigarettes and cigars, it’s pure paradise! I love smoking a cigarette, and drinking a beer. That’s the American way.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸Exponential dive bar, a true USA gem!
Can’t go wrong if you aren’t the pretentious type. Crowd nice to chat with and bartenders are great. I’ll be back.
Mac's is a great dive bar in an area where finding a drink for less than $20 can be difficult. Bring cash and expect your clothes to smell like cigs
Great hold on the wall Bar for beers! Cash only! Loved the atmosphere
This place is great! Good little hole in the wall bar. Really good prices but it is Cash only so bring real money. There is an ATM in the bar and one across the street at the pharmacy. Big shout out it Joe for dealing with our group, you're a saint Joe!
Best bar in Miami, and by best, I mean the most authentic. Doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not. And the 2 for 1 Happy Hour from 8am-5pm is unbeatable. Quick reminder for first timers… Strictly CASH ONLY!
Isaiah, the door guy, was so funny and nice! He greeted everyone with a friendly smile and made us feel welcome. I spent a lot of time outside hanging out with him because it’s a smoking bar and I needed fresh air and he was so great to talk to!
No frills straight up come to drink and chill dive bar. This is a south beach staple respect it, love it and most definitely show them some love if your in the south beach area.
The bar with the most eclectic customers this side of the bay. 99% of the time everyone is quite nice. Inexpensive drinks. 2$ pool table. My favorite dive bar from sb to ww. Always a good time. Been coming here for about 9 years.
Awesome dive bar. Cigarette smokers paradise. Quick service and very very inexpensive strong drinks. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the music playlists, some pop like lady Gaga and even old classics like adina Howard were played. If you’re in Miami on a budget and love moody dive bars with a lot of character visit Mac’s.
MAINLY A POOL TABLE REVIEW $2/game. Table was in good shape. It seemed level and the rails were good. However, I have a bone to pick with who ever is running this joint. There is space to move the table away from the wall. Why not scoot it over? You hit the wall on shots close to the rail on the wall side and the bottom rail by the bathroom. It’s avoidable. Also it’s cash only and the ATM is “moody” as one bartender put it and I never got it to work. It worked for other people, but not me. Now this part isn’t a review but I have a story about this bar that I must share: I walked in and there were a couple of dollars on the table (to mark who is waiting their turn for my less hip readers) and I sat at the bar. I had a PBR it was $6 and it was not a tall boy. Anyway theres a doubles game going on and, not to be rude, but no one is doing great and it’s taking quite a long time. Team 1 is a guy and a girl and they’re struggling BUT they are doing so with an awareness of time. Team 2 on the other hand was a different story. Player one was doing alright, I’d say he was the best of the 4 playing. Player 2 looked like he had never held a pool cue. He was shaky, took at least 60 seconds to line up and there was lots of talking and bullshit between shots. I get it. We all were beginners at some point but you can learn, or just be awful, at a reasonable pace. Now, all of that, I’ve dealt with. I’ve been to my share of dive bars chasing level felt, and I’ve seen plenty zany characters and shenanigans that frequent such establishments, but what Player 1 proceeded to do baffled me. He would take the chalk and draw a line from the object ball to the pocket. Then he would draw another line from the object ball to the cue ball to show Player 2 where both balls should ideally go. Let me repeat that, LINES. DRAWN. ON. THE FELT. Even with this sinfully illegal visually aiding graffiti, this guy continued to take literal minutes to get a shot off. It was painful to watch. The memory of it now takes a toll on my soul. People began to heckle and even yell helpful advice like, “SHOOT!” Finally after about 30 minutes the game squeaked to a merciful end. Had it continued much longer I fear the whole place may have been smitten by the billiard gods. The guy in front of me didn’t have a partner so we decided to team up and take out the Duo of Defacement. Now I’m not one to make excuses but these two managed to leave me several terrible shots and even though my partner turned out to be decent this game came down to a black ball shoot out and we lost. All the while Player 1 is marking up the table and it began to look like a maniacal geometry professor had taught a course on 8 ball. It was one of the most frustrating losses of my career. I had the next dollar up so we ran it back and again we found ourselves down 4 balls to 2 when player 1 made a dirty shot off our ball. We called him on it and after some back and forth I went ahead with my shot despite some protest. This resulted in Player 1 wanting to fight. I missed the shot but we did win the game and the pair left for the night. Obviously, I went on to dominate until closing but that’s a tale for another time. Moral of the story: play with some awareness of the clock. You can suck just suck quickly. And don’t draw lines on the table. One of the craziest things I’ve ever seen playing pool.
It doesn’t cease to amaze me that this is a super cool place. 1st time I came here was well over 35 years ago. It’s always a nice spot to go with friends or a lady friend. Went a few weeks ago enjoyed it like always.
It is the Oldest Bar of Miami Beach which has been around since 1926. It'd dark and cool and a.miami beach institution know to long time residents. I have walked past it many times since 2011. Because it looked like a Dive I never ventured in. Our friend took us there on Veterans day and we met some very cool people. There is no food here. But Le Sandwachieri is across the road for a quick bite. Inexpensive drinks.
Bar man is one of the rudest bar man I have ever experienced . Totally ruined what could have been a great night. We left after 1 beer
Payed for Jokbox in the hope we can listen to our favoutite songs, however waited over 2h to get songs played... I guess we would be still waiting
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Club Deuce. From the moment we walked in, the bartenders were extremely rude and unwelcoming. They made false assumptions about us and called us out for things we weren’t even doing. The level of disrespect was shocking, and it was clear that we were not treated equally to other patrons. It’s hard to shake the feeling that we were racially profiled, as the bartenders showed a complete lack of manners and professionalism. We came to enjoy a night out, but instead, we left feeling attacked and disrespected. I would strongly advise anyone considering visiting this bar to think twice. There are plenty of other places in Miami where you can have a good time and be treated with respect. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar.
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! Last night I gave the bartender at this cash only bar $100 and he pocketed $50. When I point this out instead of addressing my issue they throw me out of the bar and I had to get the cops involved. Again please avoid these thieves. It’s not a good neighborhood bar at all but a place where they rob you openly
I live on the beach and I love the early morning Happy hour. I got there around 9:00am on 02/09/2025 and at first there was a woman who was very nice. Then on said day around 2:30 pm another guy came to work. I paid for my drinks and asked about my buy 1 get 1 free that they had and he said no)?? He said that he thought I bought someone else's drink.... That person put a $20 bill down to pay for there's to show the bartender that it wasn't me. And he said I don't care leave if you keep talking...... The bartender at 3:35pm 02/09/2025 stole money from me
I am a South Beach local for 22 years, I came to the sandwich place across the street from bar, while waiting for our order the girl I was with suggested to go acros the street and grab a beer. While at the bar drinking our beer the girl I was with asked the bartender for the code to use the bathroom, she obtain the code for the bathrooms and after using the bathroom I asked her to give me the code so I can use the barhroom. The bartender over heard me asking her and proceeded to raise his voice said "both of you can't go to the bathroom together!" I expmain to him, I was trying to use the bathroom and before I can say anything else I was being drag out by my neck by the bouncer" as I was outside trying to find my girlfriend I explain to the bouncer I was just trying to use the bathroom, he got aggressive with me and assaulted me by putting his hands on my face, I realized I was In a dangerous situation so I got away as fast as possible. I contacted the Miami Beach Police and explained my side of the story and nothing was done not even a police report. Be aware this bar is not a safe place for anyone to be, I am still In shock. Be aware.
Went here for the first time and the bartenders were less than impressive. I asked for a water and they gave me an attitude like i was annoying them. They made me feel extremely uncomfortable like i was an annoyance. i saw them mock me for also being in the industry. No wonder the bar was completely empty. If i could give zero stars i would. Definitely don’t recommend. Especially if you’re a woman I would stay away from this establishment.
This is a great place attracting a diverse crowd. The pricing is reasonable even for craft beers. Yet one star goes to the bartender whose attitude was beyond unacceptable from the very beginning. On Sunday night I stayed between 9.30 pm and the closing time, having spent a considerable amount of money, but my friends and I were getting aggressive comments from him all along. First he took my glass away claiming there was 'no more glass allowed at this point,' even though his colleague had given me the same glass a short while beforehand. Second he refused to accept coins, which is fair enough even for a cash-only establishment, but he could have said that nicely. Third I miscalculated my change, and he came back with some weird line instead of saying 'sorry mate, you lack a dollar' (for instance). Fourth my friends were collecting money for their beers and he bursted out with 'just give me 20 dollars so I could serve other people' (it was NOT crazy busy and he could have waited 10 more seconds without issues). The worst happened today (Monday night). I popped in for a quick cigarette, sat down at the bar and chatted with a random guy I met next to me, and then with people I bumped into. A person I knew left with a girl, but had left behind half of his beer at the counter. The same bartender asked me what I wanted and I said I was alright. 'You're taking up space,' he said. I replied I was keeping my friend's beer as I truly thought he might have been coming back. 'You've been here all week so don't act like you're looking surprised. I'm having a good night so don't make me ruin it.' Sorry, what? I was so shocked I failed to reply. That was literally my second time there... I stayed with the abandoned beer and continued chatting with a random man on my side. At one point he left, but insisted he leave me his unfinished beer as well as cigarettes, so I remained to finish it. Again, the bartender picked the can up and asked: 'Did you really pick up an empty beer?'; I said it was NOT empty. Man, you should have seen his face, embarrassed but unable to apologise for a false assumption. There is a difference between being direct and sassy versus obnoxious. I frequent bars everywhere I travel but have never experienced this level of rudeness from a bartender anywhere. I am unsure if he turned against me because I had first tried to order from him in Spanish (which is perfectly normal in Miami), to which he replied with a 'What?!', or he just treats customers like that, but it left a bitter aftertaste from an otherwise enjoyable time at the Deuce.
