Socal Cantina Miami Reviews
Came here to SoCal for the first time from the cruise ship. WOW were we blown away by the delicious tacos. Real California style, with an amazing staff! We travel all around the world and this was an amazing experience in Miami. We had the Santa Monica (chicken) & Tijuana (beef) tacos. They even gave us a lunch card where our 8th lunch is free! Thank you so much Fernando and Bri for such an awesome time! We will be back! Chips and salsa for the win!
I have to say, Fernando and his team at SoCal are absolutely amazing! Excellent service, top tier drinks, and the best tacos in Miami/Brickell. This hidden gem is right in the heart of Brickell. Outside vibes with chill Cali jams playing over the sound system, I love calling this place home. Come for the lunch special! 9.99 for 2 tacos, chips and choice of sauce. (I recommend the fish!) 10 out of 10! 🌮🍺☀️
Fernando was great!! He saw us looking at the menu just before opening and invited us in. His recommendations were awesome, great drinks and great tacos! Super fast and exceptional service. Even though gratuity was already included he treated us as if it wasn't and went above and beyond.
An absolute MUST in Brickell for 🌮 Tuesday. Service is always prompt and attentive. Lots of regulars and the bartenders get to know you. Great margaritas, street tacos for great prices. Recommend the steak 🥩 fries 🍟 if you want an alternative to tacos. But all the specialty tacos are the absolute best!
This is an ABSOLUTELY 💯 amazing taco 🌮 Tuesday !!! We got the specialty tacos mix and that little crunchy bacon mixed with juicy beef, it melted in your mouth of each bite 🤤! Served with great services, bartenders are amazing sweet and they deserved every penny! Definitely MUST go place if you are looking for a hangout spots.
Happy hour 4-7 weekdays! $5 beers, $3 street tacos.. this place rocks! We love coming here end of week and bringing the work folks. Fernando is amazing behind the bar Mixing craft cocktails! Come for a drink, stay for the food. Great service! Great food! Excellent vibes
I ordered these two tacos and they have a great seasoning — Anaheim & Los Angeles. If you are a fan of mojitos, I highly recommend to order it. The strawberry margarita is good - not so sweet.
Fernando is truly a master of his craft. One of my gal friends and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail, ended up stumbling onto one of the best taco menus we saw in Miami. SoCal offers a "Miami Spice" tasting menu with two tacos and your choice of appetizer dip. The Santa Fe and Fish tacos were out of control delicious. Fernando, our bartender, was knowledgeable, friendly and quick! He made the best Michelada I have ever had. No boring tomato juice, but a "secret recipe" that was fabulous. I ended up getting a bottle of their signature hot sauce to take back with me. My friend tried a cocktail that sounded bonkers, featuring a salted cointreau foam...outstanding. Also loved rhe Donkey Punch cocktail. Shout out to Fernando, what a great experience!
We were in town for a day before our cruise. If you are looking for a chill place to have some delicious food and a few drinks I cannot more highly recommend. And if you still need enticing, this place has a terrific 4-7pm M-F happy hour (with $3 street tacos). Thank you Angelina for the hospitality and terrific service with a smile. We will hands down be back next time we are in town.
Definitely my favorite place in the area, quality service. We're not customers, we're friends, and they make you feel at home. The new jewel in the #PorkyTacos crown. And the atmosphere is the best.
Stumbled upon this little gem in Brickell and it instantly became a fave! Super cute lunch spot with a breezy patio that’s perfect for soaking up the Miami vibes. The margaritas? All-natural and absolutely on point, fresh, not overly sweet, and dangerously easy to sip. Now let’s talk tacos. The carnitas and the beef & bacon tacos are straight fire and packed with flavor, juicy, and just the right amount of indulgent. Best part? Their weekday lunch special (12–4pm, M–F) is a total steal: 2 tacos and a dip (your choice of guac, queso, or pico) for only $9.99. Yes please.
The food was amazing! We were two people and each ordered 2 tacos. The portions are fair, and the flavors were super delicious! Service was fast and friendly. The limonadas were also refreshing, just too much ice cubes inside (but I think it’s common here in the US).. Also, it was football day and the tv was a bit too loud, but apart from that we enjoyed our dinner!

MY FAVORITE SPOT IN MARY BRICKELL!!!! Their taco Tuesday is very inexpensive & delicious n bang for your buck for sure! I’ll miss you, and if you go ask for Manuel!! He’s such a sweetheart and always recommends the best menu items!
If you want to have a quick bite and a chilled beer, this is the right place. They have lunch promotions and food is tasty! Gracias chicos !
Try everything my favorite taco here are the Tijuana tacos they are really really good . They didn’t last long enough for a photo so that should definitely tell you some we also tried the carne asade fries with were delicious,
Absolutely an adorable little outdoor bar. The staff is supper friendly and the drinks are amazing. We did not try food this time but everything that came out to other patrons looked amazing!!! Will come back!!!
Amazing taco Tuesday menu! Manuel did a great job serving us he made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend!
Love this place! Lovely waitress, best drinks, and tacos are fresh. I hate cheese, but I will eat it on their tacos. I didn’t have to wait, came on a Friday at 5 Pm, so I was able to enjoy their happy hour. Again, very nice place.
Highly recommend checking this joint out! One of my new favorite go to spots! Happy hour got good deals! Drinks are delicious. Food was delicious. Tacos 🌮 were amazing with their hot sauce!
Went in for a few drinks during the week. I had the Awkward Italian which was pretty refreshing. The ambiance of the bar outside is pretty chill. The service was a little slow towards the end but would go back and give the food a try.Their Taco Tuesday specials are great- $3 tacos and $6 margs. Only downside: all of their seating is outdoors so if weather isn't great you might want to come back another day!
I’ve been coming to SoCal for over three years when I moved to Brickell. AJ and his staff are top notch with the little oasis in a desert of corporate and city life. Their new lunch menu is killer and their Mahi bowl is one of my favorites now. Highly recommend.
My brother in law and I stumbled upon this Cantina out for a walk down South Miami Ave. 10 PM on a Friday night, the bar was packed. The bartender served us promptly considering the bar was full. Another gentleman seeing the bar was so busy and there were no seats, brought out 2 stools for us and made a spot at the stand up bar. The drinks were killer. The service was incredible. The atmosphere was casual enough that comfortable dress was ok. Considering everyone down this strip is dressed UP 100% Thank you Looking forward to coming back and trying the food when we return.
Best place in Brickell to have some tacos and to take out your stress with there cold beer, micheladas, margaritas or drinks'. Love the place for years. The atmosphere, food and service its always great.
This was actually the best burrito I had in my life. Queso and fries in a burrito is just wow! I’ve had a burrito from like every taco place in Miami but this is incomparable.
In the middle of Brickell they were able to sit down a large party with short notice and the price was reasonable as we all ate and/or drank, and the total came down to around $30 a person, and none of us left unsatisfied and we enjoyed our company
Best happy hour spot in my opinion! The food and margaritas never miss. I love the laid back atmosphere and music. Julio is the friendliest bartender and he makes a killer spicy margarita
Wonderful, fun bar with delicious tacos. Enjoyed sitting at a bar overlooking the sidewalk and watching the pedestrian traffic. Lovely, nice people working there. Great service!
Best of the best. Carne asada fries 12/10
Manuel is amazing, five stars service l.
Delicious food and delicious drinks! The Gardener’s Margarita is spectacular. Jas and the team provide A1 service
I love this place so much! Tacos and nachos are delicious 🤍
Great outside patio bar & taco grill in Brickell. The food was great! (Long Beach Tacos and Carne Asada Fries) Our server was Angelina... cute, engaging, and attentive! Highly recommend visiting on Taco Tuesdays if you like lively crowds!
We come here virtually every Tuesday for their Taco Tuesday specials, but any other day this place is filled with fresh foods. We always order the chips and guac, and never forget the Long Beach taco. Our server Guillermo is always aware of our table and refills our waters constantly (I for one drink a lot of water). Guillermo and his Team are top notch. Will come back on Tuesday of next week like habit. Thank you for serving amazing food and stellar service!
The food for me is a little hot. But is good
SoCal Cantina is an absolute gem! The food is delicious, the ambiance lively, but what truly sets it apart is the amazing staff. Friendly, attentive, and always going the extra mile to ensure a fantastic dining experience. A definite must-visit for anyone in the Brickell area! ✨
Good food. Celiac friendly. Owner is celiac
Good tacos, great drinks and even better vibes. Amazing happy hour specials. It’s a smaller place so feels a bit crowded but you can look past all that and enjoy the great atmosphere and drinks. The party goes on beyond happy hour and if you are near there or just starting your night out in Miami (on any day) its a good starting spot. Worth a visit, definitely recommend.
Hands down some of our favorite tacos and arguably Miami’s best margarita (Gardener’s Margarita - voted 2017 best margarita in Miami by the Miami New Times) can be found at SoCal Cantina. Even though SoCal is located right on South Miami Avenue, it’s actually a little hidden. At first glance, it might seem like you’re walking into popular Brickell restaurant Dolores Lolita, but if you look to your immediate left, you’ll find SoCal. What SoCal lacks in size they make up for in hospitality, awesome cocktails, and full-flavored tacos. Over the past few years, SoCal has become a watering hole for Brickell locals, where one can savor quality drinks, have good conversation, and enjoy the best #TacoTuesday in town ($3 tacos, $4 beers, and $5 classic margarita). If you plan on paying them a visit, make sure to ask for the owners, Leo or AJ. You’ll often find them behind the bar engaging their patrons in conversation or showing them some mind-blowing magic tricks (yes, you read that correctly). In a city filled with beautiful, luxurious high-rises, exotic cars, and extravagant retail stores, it’s nice to find a place where none of that really matters. SoCal is an escape within the city. SoCal feels like home.
SoCal has a great lunch special for $9.99, and the service by Fernando and Loren was as great as the food.
I was walking around and needed a place to stop to send a few messages and take a break and have a little cocktail and I happen to stumble across this little cute spot, I’m not disappointed! Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love being able to sit here and watch all the people walk by while I’m either checking messages, talking on the phone or just enjoying the scenery. The ambiance is great, music will please all! Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I happen to walk in and sit down without realizing that they were not open yet, they were so super gracious, they offered me what they could before they were open and once they were open a very sweet young lady came and took care of me and I have zero complaints! Good people! Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I decided not to order off their happy hour menu because I was hungry, but the happy hour menu looks amazing and very well priced! I had the fish tacos, they were extremely fresh, well prepared and well seasoned and beautifully plated. Cocktails ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ordered a beer first and it was nice and cold and came with a cold glass, that was a very nice touch. Once I had my waitress I ordered a skinny vodka strawberry margarita and I was very pleasantly surprised! The drink was well balanced between liquor and ice and juice and the strawberries tasted like they were fresh squeezed, very happy with my choice and I will definitely be coming back! Need a place to walk to in Brickell? and people watch? and have a few cocktails and some decent food this is your spot you have to come here and check this place out I highly recommend!
I am a huge Mexican foodie and the tacos here are AMAZING. I ordered the Anaheim, Los Angeles, and San Diego tacos and was very impressed. Each had such different flavors and it was one of the best Taco Tuesdays in a long while. We also ordered SoCal Tostadas that were out of this world. Everything was also very inexpensive due to the Taco Tuesday special. We had plans to run to so this place was perfect for a quick but sufficient meal. Note: The Tuesday specials are for dine-in only. Come stop by SoCal for some awesome eats if you're in the Brickell area!
Great experience. Random choice after landing in Miami. Great service, Fernando our server was super cool and helpful but so was everyone else who stopped by. Good drinks we all tried 2 different cocktails during happy hour, all were good. Food was great. We tried beef, chicken and pork street Tacos for $3 on happy hour. Meat is so flavourful and the spicy salsa is great. We got beef &chicken nachos for the table, my favorite thing! & the music was fire. An upbeat variety of hip hop, pop, Latino music etc. Note there is limited seating and it's all outside.. but luckily the weather was great!
Nice spot in the mix of the city life in Brickell. Happy hour too. Get a beer or a drink. Get something to eat. Have a conversation with the bartender. See the people walk by. Basque in the ambience of the electric environment. This place is connected with Delores but you can call me Lolita restaurant upstairs. That restaurant is sister to Crazy About You also in Brickell. This spot has my Certificate of Approval.
The food was excellent and it came out very quickly! The drinks are original and refreshing also!
Great vibe, excellent service. Try their margaritas! You can't go wrong. They're very tasty and pack a punch. We started with some queso and chips, and sampled a few of their tacos. We tried the Long Beach, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Surf tacos. My favorite, hands down, was the Long Beach. Savory and sweet, with just the right mix in every bite. Would highly recommend to anyone for a fun, casual date night.
If you’re in Brickell and craving delicious tacos in a laid-back atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. On Thursday nights, the vibe is relaxed, with great music and a chill ambiance—perfect for a casual dinner. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always makes you feel welcome. Come Tuesday, the place comes alive for Taco Tuesday! It gets crowded, but the energy is fantastic, and the experience remains thoroughly enjoyable. The tacos are simply outstanding—fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and generous portions. And the best part? The prices are very affordable, making it an even better deal. Whether you’re just passing through or a local resident, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
Stumbled upon this place as I was looking for somewhere casual to go and have a drink as I'm new to the area. The bartenders were cool, drinks were good and tacos are really good. Going to try taco Tuesday here as they promised it was good. Good atmosphere that isn't so uptight since Brickell can sometimes be a little boujee. Definitely coming back as these guys were easy to kick it with and had good service.
Showed up later on a Friday night (on a holiday weekend). We were sat immediately. Drinks came out minutes later. Servers were super friendly and helpful. Ordered 3 of the tacos ( we were just looking for a snack). Came out in minutes and All three were amazing. I highly suggest checking this place out!
We stayed in the Brickell area Miami for 3 nights. We found this little canting on the first night. We were on having a couple of drinks and we left 4 hours later best night in a long time and we just got off a cruise. Julio made it for use, he was so nice and friendly. SoCal became our local for the next 3 night, pre dinner and even a sneaky arvo drink Thanks guys and I should say the food was soooo good
Great spot for Southern California style Mexican food with a fun, laid-back vibe. The tacos are fresh and flavorful, the portions are solid, and the menu has plenty of options whether you’re craving classic street tacos or something more creative.
Manuel was such a good person to work with, excellent service and a great person. Coming back to enjoy the vibe, thanks to him!!
Came back here after a year, because we loved the vibe here last time, and as usual it was absolutely banging! Leo and Manuel were the embodiment of good service. Proper gentlemen. All round was a really good experience and well definitely be back again soon. Cheers team for a great time 🕺🏾👍🏾
Great place for drinks and food both. Margaritas are perfect every time we go in, and staff is always super friendly. My go-to is the steak tacos, which have been perfect every time I've ordered them.
Cool little spot. Good tacos, great margaritas, nice vibe staff was friendly Fernando the bartender is awesome. Cant beat the lunch special during the week till 4:00

This is a nice little spot, really comfy. Really friendly waiter but service was a bit slow. Their taco was delicious and their drinks 🥹 I would recommend. Not overpriced. If you’re looking for a place to have a drink with your friends it is the right spot for you
Good vibes. Food average. Definitely not authentic Mexican - leans more Taco Bell. The waitress herself recommended 2 taco options with ground meat as the best sellers because they are like Taco Bell. If price was closer to Taco Bell, I’d return.
It was our first time here. I was there with two other friends. We were kinda hurry and they sat us right away. We chose the street tacos since they were on happy our accompanied with chips and guac. The food came promptly and it was very tasty. The only issue was the server was very slow to take our order or refill our drinks. We had to ask to out check to chef that’s was passing by. Besides that it’s a really good spot.

This is a great little place to go for a quick casual meal with drinks. Tacos are pretty good at a decent price, but I will definitely have to come back on a Tuesday to take advantage of that Taco Tuesday deal. I still think the quality of Coyo Taco tacos are better, but the drink selection here is better by far! Definitely come during happy hour (weekday 5-7pm) to take advantage of their happy hour deals! It's a little tricky to find because it isn't totally obvious that it's sort of within Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita. Definitely would recommend getting here by public transport or Uber because parking in Brickell is a pain.
Despite asking who was going to serve me after a 5 minute sit down! The food and drinks are excellent. The Crunchwrap was so worth it! The guy server was bomb and the female server or waiter could be a little more friendly but it’s cool. I’m not white I get it! Other than that the place is worth checking out!!!!
Went for a bridal shower. Lunch was delicious. Chicken well cooked but not dry. Meal very tasty. Good service. Friendly staff. Parking in that area (South Miami Avenue) is very tight. Few street parking spaces, mostly valet parking.
Funky little spot in Miami. Area was very lively and the eye candy kept on coming. Drinks were super expensive but strong enough to hit just right. Food was decent. Our waitress was lifeless and appeared to have no interest in being at work that night but I guess if I had to deal with a bunch of drunkards all night in a pandemic I would feel some kind of way too.

Cinco De Mayo and they didn't play great music! Service was slow and with just two of us they included 20% tip no happy with that! Overall not great just a mild okay!
I love the location and atmosphere. The food and drinks are average. The waiter was nice but we had to look for him every time we wanted drinks. Somewhat expensive. There were 3 of us, we each had 2 drinks and shared one guacamole’s+chips, the bill was 120$ with tip. Unfortunately this price range has become the norm around brickell. Would probably come back for the atmosphere, but during happy hour.
The food was absolutely delicious but it was served so slow. We were sitting there for hours while the people around us came and left before we even got our food and orders taken. We would have ordered more drinks or dessert but it was just taking too long. They also don’t let you split checks (you can only split three ways, and split evenly down the middle, not per whatever each individual ordered). I have never encountered that situation before so it was hassle and I almost wonder if it’s true or they just didn’t want to split it. Also we didn’t get some of what we ordered and received food food we didn’t even order. I hope this was just a rare thing because the food is really good.
We ate here because of United dining miles for lunch. I did find the tacos overall to be fairly overpriced and average. I'm not a big fan for paying for chips and salsa especially when they're basic and not very flavorful. Service was quick and helpful. Overall I would definitely have a different salsa selection with spice and different heats especially for $9. There could be more filling in the tacos as well.
My main complain is it is pricey for what you get. Started off with guac and chips. $12.5. Good. $13 for two tacos. Hmm. No side, no nothing. Anaheim tacos promised pulled chicken, crispy bacon. Chicken was good, I did not taste any bacon. Portions are tiny at the best. Did not like it. Hermosa beach is decent, i liked their spicy chipotle sour cream on top. Burrito was just ok for $18. Wow. So $80 dollars (incl two alcohol drinks) for two and later I am like what else could I eat for dinner?! Would Not come back unless it is happy hour 4-7 or taco tuesday. When they have $3-4 for taco.
We wanted around a few minutes to find the hostess then got seated. We were forgotten about and stopped the waitress to take our order. The food came out quick and then the drinks were forgotten and we had to remind the waitress again. Total time to get all items we ordered was over an hour then we got automatically charged for 20% tip that they didn't deserve and wouldn't take our %18. Only good about this place was the atmosphere.
I went for the happy hour, the chicken taco was pretty good, the waitress was nice and fast, the music didn't match the "latino wibe" that a place like that should have (no latino songs, only english pop/rock). I was supposed to pay 16$ (10 for 2 beers and 6 for 2 tacos) but the bill was 20.48 because of the "service fee". I was going to tip the waitress but when I saw that I didn't. They should say that there would be a service fee before you order, I am used to those in Italy but not in the US. Not going again.

Nice place , great tacos but the worst cocktails I have ever had! I change my drinks twice and it looks like they don’t really care about how to make a cocktail properly, this is a great place to come but pls heads up on your bar I would like to come back for your food but never for your drinks 😔😔
My husband and I had the Long Beach and Oakland tacos. They were both great!! Would highly recommend the food. We also had the Gateway and Collins #75 cocktails. Again, both great! Unfortunately the service was beyond poor. Servers were more concerned about doing shots at the bar and gossiping than their jobs. Other patrons were also extremely obnoxious and invasive. Food & drinks were great. But I don’t think we’ll ever return due to the service and atmosphere.
We stopped in for dinner after reading the great reviews. Not sure who was paid for them... We were initially taken care of fairly quickly and ordered our drinks. We then sat waiting as our waitress never showed again. I ended up flagging down another waitress who took our order. Food arrived quickly but then we never saw another server until they took our empty plates. Food was basic plain and not anything special. We had the beef tacos and the fish tacos. If you have ever had good tacos do not come here expecting to meet those expectations. Be aware they already add a 20% tip to your bill which is ludicrous given the service. I did not realize this. And left a tip on the table also... All in all I would not recommend it.
Overcharged me. 3 Long Beach one Laguna beer and one Diet Coke and charged 36. Long Beach it’s 13 and one beer 8.5 how is 36 with a Diet Coke. Guy in the bar overcharges poeple. Dishonest
The miserable male bartender with glasses and dark hair should quit if he doesn’t like his job. Horrible attitude when we were there, 3 guys, nobody sitting at the bar, attitude every time we ordered a round.

Overpriced, tasteless food. I thought you can't go wrong with a Mexican restaurant in downtowm Miami, but I was so wrong. SoCal is really expensive and their food is disappointing. Quesadilla had way too much cheese in it. Brussels sprout salad had no dressing, just a bowl full of chopped greens with some beans thrown in. Burrito bowl had too much rice. The service is not great either.
The atmosphere and amount of people drew us in. And that's where it ended. Service was slow and the food mediocre at best. Tacos were ordered and if you are looking for a great taco, don't bother. They are very plain and small. Drinks are way over priced. I can see why the service is poor because they add 20% tip to the bill even with a small group of 2 pple. So they have no reason to be a good server. Avoid and spend your money elsewhere.
I used to visit this restaurant with great joy, eagerly sharing my glowing recommendations with friends and family. The ambiance, the food, and the overall experience always left me impressed. However, a recurring issue with the billing has completely tarnished my perception of this place. Every visit, I'd notice an extra drink added to the bill, and I couldn't shake the suspicion that something wasn't right. Today, I decided to be meticulous. I kept track of our drinks on my phone, determined to uncover the truth. As we were nearing the end of our meal, the waiter asked the group if we knew how many drinks we had ordered. None of us responded, not wanting to give him the satisfaction. When the bill arrived, sure enough, there were two extra drinks charged. Confronting the waiter, he conveniently claimed he didn't understand English, a clear tactic to avoid addressing the issue. This experience has shattered my trust in the integrity of the employees here. Despite the many wonderful meals I've had, I will never return to this restaurant. It's deeply disappointing to see such deceitful practices, and I can no longer recommend this place in good conscience.
Below standard service. Take out order placed on Toast clearly stated Chicken for protein choice at an additional $5.50 charge and my order came with ground beef instead. I picked up on my way home to Miami Beach so their error wasn’t discovered until I got home. I cannot dispute the order or request refund of protein charge via Toast application as it states to contact the restaurant. Yet multiple attempts to contact the restaurant during operation hours and after their happy hour time have been unsuccessful as employees/manager refuse to pick up the phone. I don’t know why this establishment engages in business on an application that requires their response via telephone to address issues yet willfully disregard the simple task of picking up the phone and leave their customers without recourse for their dinner order done wrong.
The bartender with long dark hair was very rude. He treated me very unfair and would not recommend this place to anyone. So many better places to go
Unfortunately couldn’t have had worse tacos. Never had such dry and tasteless tacos and when I asked for some sort of sauce they brought me sour cream and charged me !
Be careful! I had one drink at this place and they charged me $230. I went back to speak to management and they said they could not do anything about it.
