My go to Chinese restaurant closed so I gave this place a try. We ordered on line and pickup. It was convenient to order and it was ready quickly. This strip mall can get busy so sometimes parking isn’t close. We ordered a quart of the broccoli chicken and it came with a lot of chicken and cooked very well. We also ordered the chicken fried rice and that was prepared and tasted very well. We also tried their egg rolls and they were great; they were not greasy like other places. Prices are very reasonable and their lunch specials go until Saturday. We are very happy with this restaurant and we will definitely return.

The Chinese Restaurant is a classic. It’s been around since the 90’s ranking best Chinese takeout in 2008-9. The food is standard Chinese with their own magic twist that is uniquely theirs. Their specials are what gives you the most for your buck and if business is anything to go by then everyone else agrees too. If you choose to eat in house know that it’s like eating at grandma’s house. The food is homey. I will say, I’ve been coming here for some time and today I did notice a change in the food. The rice grains were different, and the egg roll also tasted different from usuals (can’t decide if this is good or not yet, but I will update this review based on a future visit) There are many locals that you will see come in and eat. You find comfort in that. The place inside is often quiet, sort of like an unspoken rule, so I’d suggest adhering to it because everyone likes it. Beyond that if you meet the owner he is a gem, super kind and always willing to strike a conversation with you. My favorite dishes are the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken, and their wonton soup. Their service is not super fast but not incredibly slow either, I’d say it’s calm comfortable and I think it speaks to their whole aesthetic.

Although I haven't eaten in the restaurant lately but I have eaten there for over 30 years. Bill who runs the place is a good friend of mine. And he keeps everything in good shape. I recommend this restaurant for a good Chinese style experience 😋 Roby Graham

Although I'd like to see this restaurant updated to something more modern and light, I have no issues whatsoever with the rest of the experience. We had perfect little pan-fried Pork Dumplings in a thin wrapper. Inside just the right amount of juicy ground pork, and a tasty dipping sauce. Shrimp and snow peas that we were able to request in Oyster sauce, roast pork with vegetables, and Hot and Sour soup, all of which were prepared with fresh vegetables and were perfectly seasoned. And all for under $30. Well worth the visit.

It is a family owned restaurant that is our go to when ordering delivery. My husband is a picky eater and loves their crab rangoon and wonton soup. I like the cashew chicken, and just enjoyed the sesame chicken. The owner is so dedicated to the customers that he has personally made the deliveries in unfortunate times. Appreciate the dedication to our neighborhood. Thank you!!!!

I order from them a lot. Everything is always fresh and tasty. Today there was an big error on my Uber order, and I called the restaurant to report it. They were very accommodating and offered extra items to compensate. I would highly recommend them for tasty , fresh Chinese food at reasonable prices and generous portions.

I am extremely picky about my Chinese food. I don't even really care for Chinese but I love this restaurant. I will definitely order from them again. I I got a delivery order in a timely manner they showed up. I love the display of the food and how they put it together. My sweet and sour chicken will not get soggy. The fantail shrimp was not too long and full of batter it was just perfect. The staff was really nice and the lady on the phone spoke good English. :) ★★★★★

This is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants in Miami. I am hooked with this place. William is very nice and he delivered right before closing time with no problem. He was very nice and had a great attitude. This is the best chinese takeout i have found so far in Miami. Always fresh and their special fried rice is delicious!

I've been ordering from and coming to this restaurant since the 90s and it's always been one of my favorites in all of Miami. The establishment is family-owned and run. The food is made in-house. None of that canned overly-breaded chicken crap a lot of other places try to pass off as Chinese food. Generous portions for fair prices. Peking Chicken is absolutely amazing. I get random cravings for it! I don't know what these poorer reviews are talking about as I've never had a sub-par experience with their food. Food has always been excellent and portions big enough that I have leftovers, which is impressive for the prices. It's a great restaurant to go to with a group and share different dishes. Hands down the best Chinese food in the entire city, in my opinion

Thank you William (Owner) for another amazing dinner! We have been dining here for the past 27 years and it remains “The Best” Chinese food in West Kendall, a hidden gem in the Crossings Shopping Center. It is great to dine at a local restaurant and be greeted by the owner who considers you to be family. The Pereda Family ~

2nd time ordering. Ordering out was easy, quick, and smooth. The food was not to my liking this second time. First time request crispy was just right, but second time was beyond crispy. It was just over done burnt ball of grease. So be specific when requesting or call in to assure it. The fried was excellent as well as the noddles.

The food was amazing. I went on a recommendation from Google reviews and I was not disappointed. I ordered the combination platter and it was enough to feed 2 to 3 people. The service was great and the staff's customer service was too tier. The restaurant reminded me of a restaurant i grew up in back home in Virginia. The restaurant was clean but had a old Chinese restaurant vibe which I loved. I will definitely return here when I come back to Miami in a few months.

Been my family's go to Chinese place since the early 90s. Food always delicious. Love the ambiance. Staff always friendly and efficient. When we order take-out they are also efficient. 2017: Dine-in somewhere else, unless you have the luxury of waiting forever! Service is horrible! It took at least 30 minutes for 1 dish and 1 soup to be ready, and the place was pretty empty. People who came in after us ordered the same dish and got served before us. I did notice they knew the waitress (favoritism?). They only got a 3 because the food is actually good. 2018 update: Delivery service is definitely much better. Food has been consistently very good.

S

There is a mixed opinion on this Chinese restaurant. Quality of the food is at a very high-level and it is very affordable. Service, however, is entirely different story. Staff members are polite if you manage to get to them over the phone. It's a lottery whether they're going to pick up the phone or not. Also, on few occasions I waited for order to be completed for almost one hour..

K
Karen Reliford

Food is good and served nice and hot. Prices are very good. They could use another server.

J
Ju Van Smith

We've been going there for many years, but we've noticed lately the service is really slow so if you're hungry, expect to wait to have your order taken, then expect to wait for your food then expect for 2 people @ your table to get their food and wait another 10 minutes before the rest of the food finally comes out. They don't come refill your drinks or ask if everything is OK either. It seems there's one waitress for the whole restaurant most times. They do give you decent servings, however, The place could use a make over, and it's definitely not a place to take a date. They have the TV blaring out of the ceiling speakers so if you don't understand Spanish you have no idea what they're saying on television. These pictures are of chicken lo mein, beef lo mein, and shrimp with lobster sauce & fried rice. The combo meals also come with two spare ribs, which are pretty good, a soup and an egg roll. We'll usually go there when we're craving Chinese food since the ones and our area closed down. The combo meals are definitely the way to go for the price. But expect to wait for your food to make its way out of the kitchen for everyone at your table.

Take out food was average. I was recommended the Honey Chicken and that's what I ordered but they would only be served as a meal that just included Chinese rice with the usual cookies. Well the honey chicken was delicious BUT the rice looked like it was not freshly made out for the order. Looks like it was old rice and poorly made. 5 stars for the Honey Chicken and 0 for the rice.

M
Maria Moya

I ordered to go and the special fried rice had not meat at all. Had a smoked taste. This place is usually a good one. But lately is been a disappointment.

D

The honey garlic chicken is one of their best items. Unfortunately I decided to try the Mongolian beef and I was disappointed. It hardly had any beef, it was mostly vegetables. Oh well

J

I’ve been eating here for over thirty years (not kidding). Same servers and they are awesome. Best Chinese food in town. BUT, there is this mean woman that acts like she owns the place, she speaks down to staff and the other girls that work here. Owners need to teach her not to be NASTY or go work somewhere else

j
jannette ramos

Unfortunately the place has changed. It use to have the best Chinese food ever! This time everything was super greasy, the oil used smelled old, the food was obviously not fresh, it’s as if they heated up in microwave and not to mention expensive. If the quality was good it would have been worth the price but it was honestly not good at all.

R
Raul

Sadly just ordered to try out food. The ribs were unusually dry. Very questionable quality. Hope I done get sick.

J
Jonathan Horwath

In brief, I ordered kung pao shrimp,. extra spicy. What I got was a saucy mess, full of baby corn (?) and boiled, flavorless shrimp. Despite asking for extra spicy, it was barely mild at best, lacking heat, depth or flavor. Total disappointment. If I was staying closer I honestly would return and give it back. The counter staff were friendly, but that's the only positive here folks. The food at Panda Express is leaps and bounds better than this mess.

G
Gary Gittelson

When we arrived the hostess didn't know where to seat us because most of the tables had not been bussed/cleaned of dishes. Short staffed, perhaps? And while we dined, the tables remained "unbussed." Getting our order taken and then delivered took longer, in our opinion, than it should. Once it arrived, the food was pretty good although one item we ordered was never delivered. This was our first time at this restaurant and we simply don't know if this experience was a "one-off" for them or not. Had we ordered take-out this review would have been better.

A

Visited the location after a few years, it seems to be under new ownership. The food at this location was about a 7-8 rating, now the food is a 4. It's so hard to find good Chinese food in Kendall

J
Jean-Claude Zenni

Disappointed with the Food Quality I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The egg rolls had barely any meat, and both the Szechuan Chicken and Szechuan Beef were made with noticeably low-quality ingredients. The chicken was dry and tough, and the beef was completely flavorless. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was over-fried to the point of being unpleasant. On a positive note, our waitress was kind and attentive, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, her good service couldn’t make up for the poor quality of the food. I won’t be returning, and I believe it’s important to share honest reviews like this so others know what to expect.

D
Doris Fiallos

The service by the young lady was excellent. I am doing this review because I promised her to do it. The atmosphere looks pleasant and clean even though I haven't eaten here. However, the food was not great (see pic). I ordered steamed dumplings and Homestyle fried rice. The dumplings were good (as most Chinese rest. Do) but the rice was not good. The meats were chopped so tiny that I couldn't figure out what I was eating, let alone see what kind of meat? I have read other reviews, some with pictures, which convinced me not to stop here for food. I'm so sorry, but I needed to be honest as I don't want anyone else to be completely disappointed with this restaurant's food.

Disappointing Experience with Overcooked Honey Garlic Chicken I was really looking forward to trying this Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered the honey garlic chicken, and it was overcooked and dry. The chicken was tough and lacked the juicy tenderness that I expected. The honey garlic sauce, which should have been a highlight, did little to salvage the dish. It was overly sweet and lacked depth in flavor. Given the positive reviews, I had high hopes, but this visit was a letdown. I hope the restaurant can address these issues and improve the quality of their dishes in the future. Until then, I can’t recommend it based on my recent experience.

I got to the place I have not been there in years but today was a lazy day on Sunday with all this rain in Miami and decided let's get Chinese food it's been years since I've ordered but the quality of the food has gone down considerably to the point that I would never order from this place again the honey chicken there was more batter than actual chicken it used to be I would order honey chicken wings and what I got were honey chicken wings now it's chicken wrapped and a lot of flaky batter not even tempura it was so bad the barbecue ribs were so tough to chew through that my dental floss can't even get it out of my make teeth the egg roll was nasty The wonton soup I don't know what that was it wasn't even chicken broth it was just terrible overall this was a really terrible experience my mother even complained about the fried rice so I'm only giving it one star I wouldn't have given any cuz it was such a terrible experience I guess I'm going to have to go to Burger King to compensate.

C
Caroline Lugo

Old rice, food has no seasoning whatsoever. When there are no patrons at lunchtime, it's a definite heads up. It's a shame that the only waitress delays service so that the stale fried noodles get packed. This used to be the go-to for great chinese food. Now it's stay away from!! Very very sad.

Ordered online for pick up, and received confirmation of order via email, restaurant called me to confirm, but also informed me that the order would take an hour. I was fine with that and gave them the hour. I arrived an hour and fifteen minute after they had called me. Entered the restaurant for my order, paid and then waited another half hour just to have them tell me they did not have the food for my order and could substitute for something else. Where was and email, a text, or the basic phone call to inform me of the issue, prior to my arriving. It is obvious they do not care. This place should receive a negative rating.

S
Sasha van Dalen

I never write bad reviews, but I came to this restaurant with my cousins from out of town and was very disappointed with the food. My cousin ordered a duck plate but could not finish it because the center of it was frozen. My cousins egg drop soup was not well prepared either. When we arrived home we all felt sick and 2 of us ended up throwing up on our yard. Our stomachs just didn’t tolerate the food, it was very poor quality. On top of that, the restaurants ambiance is quite literally scary. Inside, it’s dark, eerie, and suspicious. No music playing, and very few customers. It’s just not a good experience overall. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Only one word: TERRIBLE Pork fried rice: it was anything else, but not fried rice. It was overcooked, with pieces of something that looks like leftovers, but not pork. It was not the regular fried rice you find in other restaurants Spare ribs: they were not fresh, they were dried and burned, like were cooked yesterday and reheated We throw away most of the food, and lost $50 Advice: Stay away from this place

R
Rene Parajon

Very disappointed. I've been a faithful customer for over 20 years, yet this is the second time I place a take out order that is wrong . I order a special fried rice, no bean sprout and extra shrimp. What I got was an almost white rice, with extra bean sprout and barely any shrimp. The ribs were salty and old. The Won Ton soup was cold and tasteless. I don't know what's happening to them. From now on, I think I'll take my business somewhere else. Bad, bad, bad!!

I visited this restaurant after months without going , and what a disappointment! It is not like it used to be , the food was horrible , fried in old oil and rice seemed reheated . Service was ok. It is so different that I asked if they changed owner, no , same one . I cannot understand why the decline in the quality of the food . I checked reviews , and the negative ones were all about how bad the food was . We had to take Pepcid to digest what we ate . It is so sad to see how bad has become when it used to be the best Chinese food around .

T

This used to be an exceptional restaurant in the past, but their product and service is now a consistent disappointment. We have tried to continue ordering for the past year and each encounter adds to the misery. The food is continuously overcooked in old strange-tasting oil to the point that it is either too hard to eat or just plain burned. The egg foo young gravy is always so lumpy that it looks a brown large pearled viscous tapioca pudding. Then there is the service... I placed my regular order through a popular delivery service and it never arrived. I did not receive a call or text, but got a delayed email saying the order had been canceled. I still wanted dinner so I drove up to the restaurant to place my carryout in person. I explained to the young lady why I had to come up there. She cheerfully explained to me that the restaurant had suddenly become very busy and when that happens she cancels/clears out all the online orders to prevent the cooks in the kitchen from becoming overwhelmed and making any mistakes preparing the remaining orders. She genuinely pointed out that her solution to handling the restaurant's rush time was pure genius. I didn't have the heart to argue with her. I simply no longer order from them.

I just ordered food from this place. Rice was burnt; chicken was overcooked; dry and tough; was like eat stone. Vegetables not cooked at all… only good thing was fortune cookies (because weren’t cooked there I suppose). Everything else perfect.👌🏻 DEFINITELY NOT BUYING HERE AGAIN

After many years of being a customer I was extremely disappointed with the food. This was an order I picked up. The vegetable fried rice was burned and bitter. The Special fried rice was extremely slimy/stringy like it had melted cheese!!!!. I have known the owner Willy for many years, when I asked for him to talk they said he is not the one who handles the complaints. Ended up throwing $27 away. Last time I order from them.

Ordered from here yesterday 06/11. Got the family dinner for 2 which included large wonton soup, 4 Spareribs, 2 Egg Rolls & large Roast Pork Fried Rice and 2 main dishes of our choice so we got the Szechuan chicken and Mongolian beef. Also got Crab Rangoon, and a 2 liter sprite soda. Full order came to $58. Thought it was a very good deal! Little did I know. I never had food this bad. The rice was completely spoiled. Slimy and smelled really bad. And the Szechuan Chicken and Magnolia beef was literally the same dish!!! Just one was beef and the other was chicken. Had these two dishes a hundred times before at other places and never did I have it made with so much Vegetables before and barely any meat. The flavor was technically a vegetable beef & chicken stirfry. Crab Rangoon didn’t have any filling at all. The flavor of everything was just horrible and that fried rice was spoiled! Ended up throwing everything in the trash. Very disappointed because we had just gotten off a super long flight and this was the first meal we had to eat. Never again, do not recommend! Wish to get my money back!

I made an order online and I didn’t want onion with my rice so they charged me more, fine. Then I got my food with A LOT of onion. And on the top of the container says “no onion”. Do you think is funny?

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for years, and it used to be one of the best, great food and reliable service. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. I called today from work to place a delivery order for my daughters, who are home without a car. I asked about a family meal with honey chicken, and the woman who answered seemed rushed and unhelpful from the start. When I asked if the family meal came with egg rolls or sides, she told me no—and that anything additional would be extra, including making the rice fried into just chicken. I went along with her suggestion and placed the order. I told her I was ready to pay with my credit card over the phone, but she said she didn’t need it at that moment. I explained that my daughter wouldn’t have my card on her, and she asked if my daughter had Apple Pay. I wasn’t sure, so I asked if they could just call me when the food was delivered so I could pay over the phone then. She said that would be fine. I even repeated the order to confirm and double-checked about payment again, and she said yes. Over an hour and a half later, I called to ask what happened with the delivery. She claimed I never said I wanted delivery, which was the entire reason I called in the first place. She then blamed me for not giving an address or phone number—though she never asked for them, and I’ve ordered before, so they already have my info. When I tried to explain, she got defensive and started raising her voice. I stayed calm at first, but I admit I got frustrated too, and raised my voice as well, as I was just trying to figure out what went wrong. It’s really disappointing. The customer service has gone downhill, and the warmth and professionalism that used to make this place special seem to be gone. I hope things turn around, but for now, I won’t be ordering again.

We had not been to The Chinese Restaurant in the Crossings Shopping Village in more than 10 years, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and ordered take-out. The service was good as the young lady took our order quickly and efficiently, no mistakes. I asked the owner if he uses MSG and he replied Yes, but he said we can order without MSG and we did. One of the dishes we ordered was the Mei Mei Fried Rice ($11), it was awful. Smelled and tasted burned and was absolutely horrific after the first bite; we threw it away. The egg rolls and spring rolls were soaked in fried oil and the oil seemed to be very old and not fresh. We also ordered wonton soup and it was overcooked and the wontons were mushy. The crab rangoon was equally as horrible as it was also soaked in old oil. Lastly, the orange chicken was mediocre at best, but the pieces of chicken were cut too large and it was salty. We spent $52 and will never be going back. Such a shame, used to be a good place back in the day!

Good food, but the level of cleanliness in this place is HORRENDOUS. Two years ago, I found a dead fly in my sweet n' sour sauce. Today, I discovered a piece of fingernail in my fried rice. Restaurant eventually compensated me for the meal after first trying to convince me it was part of a shrimp shell. C'mon you guys...I know the difference between a shrimp shell and a human fingernail. Especially after swishing this hard thing around in my mouth (see pic). It's taking all the strength in me not to barf right now...not to mention I'm 15 weeks pregnant.

I want to put my finger in my throat and barf. The server was not friendly, did not smile and was very dry.Just like the honey chicken. The ribs tasted like they were in the refrigerator way too long going bad. I ate one rib told the waitress, and all she said, was, would you like another one?Did not apologize and did not even discount The bill. The honey chicken was extremely dry. I don't know how they stay in business.People around here must be starving. That they eat anything.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered fried rice with no bean sprouts, they put in extra bean sprouts. Ordered fried wonton, they must’ve pit in fryer and forgotten about it, threw them in garbage immediately, spare ribs were all bone, no meat at all, egg rolls had a taste to them i have never experienced before, lo mien super greasy Just totally horrible, threw the whole $80.00 meal in the garbage and went to McDonald’s Do NOT order food from here, you will be super disappointed, if I had a rental car I never would’ve ordered from here. I hope this helps whomever is thinking about ordering food from here Super bad!!!
