The Front Porch Café Miami Reviews
I had a really amazing time at this place. Everything was on point: food, service and atmosphere. Music was good too, and staff was very attentive and handled multiple languages. I had a professional picture of my friends thanks to Sebastian who took one for us, truly a great experience at the Front Porch Cafe. The waitresses were very kind and beautiful.
Our waitress Gisela was the best service I’ve had in a while! Loved her energy and how she was able to help us pick which choices of plate to get, which was great btw!
Love the ceviche, so fresh and delicious! Best one I’ve had in a while and I’ve been around! Drinks were great and the photographer Nancy was great as well! As you can tell we ate it up already
Great service! We had appetizers while visiting! Music was enjoyable:)
We ate here for breakfast and dinner. Portion sizes were huge! So much tasty food. The French toast was amazing. Dinner we ordered alfredo and the pork chop. The calamari was not as good as expected way too much breading! Service was A+ always filled drinks without having to ask. Overall amazing food!
Very friendly staff, the drink specials were the best I've seen in the city. The seafood pasta was very tasty and filling. Time to walk Ocean Drive.
Nancy the photographer is great! I had the salmon burger and it was delish. The Miami vice frozen drink is good too
Very nice atmosphere all the staff is very welcoming. Gisela had the pleasure to be our waiter for the night so everything went well Nancy was also our photographer for the night and took nice pictures of me and my family!
gisela was my server she was excellent and professional. Food is high quality and so is the service.
The food was very good and the drinks were excellent. Gisella provided excellent service.
Loved everything! The outside sitting is fun for pictures too. The food is very tasty and fair priced. Family oriented vibe, I went with my kids and husband. Nancy kindly offered to take a professional photo with my family. I definitely recommend this place!
This restaurant is fantastic during the day and at night. The events at night are absolutely phenomenal. Nancy was very helpful and kind to us. They gave out free printed picture, which would be a great memory for me and my wife. It was absolutely amazing, definitely recommend to anyone in the Miami Beach Area.
Just arrived from the UK and Gisela was lovely, the food was delicious, delivered to me really quickly and good portion size too. Thanks again
Everyone super friendly! Great service, Nancy was great, Super sweet and took great photos! Jay was awesome! Great conversation awesome personality! Prices were good too! Good vibes all around!
20 years of coming here and never disappoints. Always visit when in Miami. French toast and pancakes are the must have. Love the new location!
Ilan hooked us up and kept us warm with the heater as the weather was a bit cold. Great service and great food.
This place is solid! Great customer service, fast service, good music selection and the food is TASTY (for an affordable price!!) 😋! They also have a really good drinks.
The staff were very attentive, the food and vibes are always good as well! New location, same great people, with their photographer Santiago snapping some great pics!!
Ilan and Gisela were awesome hosts. A very enjoyable and delicious breakfast! I highly recommend.
Large breakfast menu served all day. Nice variety of appetizers and lunch items. And they actually made my macchiato correctly! The Mexican omelette was really good and my daughter loved the home made granola with yogurt and fruit. Servers were very attentive and we would eat here again. No beach view but close to the beach.
I had a wonderful experience at Front Porch Café! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The best place on Ocean Drive . Gisela was great 🥹 She did served us like princess . Thank you . Hugs from your Moldavian and Ukrainian Friends ☺️
We got cinnamon pancakes and the Miami scramble with a black coffee, the food was sensational and the coffee drinks well. Would 100% recommend. service from Carlos was 5* 💪 GO BILLS! (sorry Miami)
loved this club came three nights in a row, Nancy was an amazing photographer she was very helpful and took beautiful pictures. they were considered my birthday pictures & i loved them! drinks are great service was a 9/10!!! would definitely come again.
“The café has such a welcoming vibe, and the hookah is absolutely amazing! Great flavors, smooth smoke, and excellent service. Perfect place to relax and enjoy time with friends. Highly recommended!”
The food was delicious! Gisela was very kind and helpful. She was very attentive. I 100% recommend going to this place. She treated my family nice, and I would go again on my vacation here in Miami. Good breakfast place! Fruit waffles were delicious!!
Ilan was a fantastic server - thank you - good and ambiance were great - the Avacado toast with Salmon and eggs is a winner
My wife and I fell on love with this place. The food was so much better than expected and the service was great. The granola pancakes were so good!! They almost tasted like the Publix carrot cake. The servings were much better than we imagined along with the really good coffee. The prices for breakfast and brunch were not as bad for being a block away from the beach. The outside seating can be tricky but just don't get put in the seats that the huge umbrellas have their gaps. Those parts get pretty hot so they would at least keep your food warm. Updated 2 days later.... We came back again since we loved it so much and to see if we would have another great experience and we did. It was a difference crew working and they were great again. The food was even better so I will make sure i come back here the next time I visit south beach.
Came here for brunch and the French toast with orange zest was absolutely delicious! Although I didn't order it my friends highly recommended the Eggs Benedict. The prices here are reasonable especially for Miami Beach and the servings were large. My friend and I split the breakfast tacos and french toast to get a taste of both the sweet and savory which I highly recommend. In addition to the great food, the staff were friendly and helpful with offering recommendations.
One of our favorite places to dine at! The fried calamari is an absolute must. The service is great, and not badly priced. The location is perfect, great for a quieter dinner. The shrimp pasta was marvelous and came with a decent amount of shrimp. The highlight was the sesame chicken! We were a little nervous getting Chinese food from a place like this, but very pleasantly surprised! We will both be ordering this next time, it was that good! Overall one of our TOP recommendations for South Beach!
WORTH THE WAIT. Went to front porch cafe 2 days in a row, loved the place so much the first time. We waited about 45 minutes. The food took about 25-30 mins as it was weekend and while we waited for the food, we ordered the Tomato & Avocado toast which was delicious and flavorful. We ordered green eggs both the days, MUST HAVE. Along with that we ordered some Migas, breakfast burrito. Their OJ is really fresh with a little bit of pulp. Loved the place.
I had such a great experience at Front Porch Cafe! The vibe here is exactly what you want when you’re in Miami Beach super relaxed, lively, and just steps away from the ocean. The staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy, which made the whole meal feel easy and enjoyable. The food was delicious. I tried the French toast and it honestly lived up to the hype. My friend had the avocado toast and loved it, and we couldn’t resist ordering mimosas, which were spot on. Portions were big and everything came out fresh and flavorful. Yes, the prices are a little higher than your average café, but considering the quality, service, and perfect location by the beach, it felt worth it. I’d definitely come back here for brunch or even just to hang out with coffee and people watch.
Fantastic place to sit down for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!! Food was superb and relatively inexpensive (as far as eating on Ocean Drive). Sitting outside next to the flame lamps made for beautiful pictures (and also kept us warm at night when it started to get cold). Also very nice view of the palm trees and the park . Only thing better than the food and the view was our server Marcio. Fantastic attention to detail!! He kept checking on us multiple times to make sure we were okay and to see if we needed anything. Very considerate and sincere👍. We were in South Beach for a week and actually ended up eating here 3 times because of how good the food was and now nice Marcio and the rest of the staff was! So far, I’ve eaten the ribeye steak, the Caesar salad, and the porch burger. My wife got the mango chutney chicken twice and an cheddar and avocado omelet All of it was superb!! I can’t recommend this place enough👍👍👍
So good! We ate breakfast here three times during our week vacation and the food was excellent each time. The staff was nice and service was quick on the weekdays, but a little slower while they were busier, which is understandable. The huevos rancheros, avocado toast, and French toast were all amazing. Highly recommend the cold brew coffee as well. Cute patio good for people watching. Would definitely return in the future.
Its a great place with amazing food and wonderful view. Great service by manager Ilan and his team. French toast is my favorite here.
The food was delicious. My girlfriend and I both got a burger. Mine was The Porch Burger and hers was the Veggie Burger (both were deluxe). I enjoyed my burger and she thought the pita bread as burger buns made the burger and it wasn't your average green veggie burger. The staff were nice too. Overall great place.
The music is amazing, super fun! Always had a blast here. Bartenders try to quickly give you your order and make sure you have a good time as well! Nancy was also here and she took pictures of us for memories
This place was great & very welcoming! Came for the nightlife. Nancy took pictures of me and my friend. She was so nice and kind! Our bartender Micah was the best! He made sure we were taken care of all night and was so kind. The hookah guy here also made sure we were well taken care of. If you want to have a good time I would def come here
Great food establishment on South Beach. The food was extremely tasty and hot. The mussels, steak, shrimp was all very well flavored. The service staff were very professional and hospitable especially Nancy. She’s a great photographer. Will definitely eat here again.
Mateo and Ilan is hands down the best bartenders. Hottest bartenders in Miami Beach. Friendly, professional, and incredibly skilled — every drink was perfectly made and beautifully presented. He has a great personality, remembers preferences, and keeps the vibe fun while staying efficient even when it’s busy. Mateo truly elevates the whole experience and is a big reason we’ll be coming back. Highly recommend!
Gisela was out server and took care of us outside on the patio. Loved my green smoothie and huevos rancheros. Others got the chia pudding and avo toast and loved it.
Gisela was amazing and very kind! She was quick and checking in frequently! The food was really good! We got breakfast and it was fresh and warm. The presentation was very good! Very calm atmosphere! We enjoyed our meal here and would come back!
El salad súper fresco 🥗, los vegetales salteados bursting con sabor, y el arroz fluffy just the way I like it 🍚. El plating también se veía espectacular, todo servido en la tabla de madera que le da un toque rústico pero elegante. 🌿👌 Honestly, this was a whole experience, no solo comida.
Compared to the other restaurants this one had the best service Ylan or Ilan I hope I got the name correctly, he was amazing to my freinds and I, I will definitely return
Food was good. I had a delicious plentiful plate of fresh fruit and my husband had the vegetarian omelet. Both plates were very well served with big portions. Our server Carlos was fantastic! We also got a photo postcard from Nancy- she was bubbly and friendly! We will definitely visit again next time we are in South Beach.
The food was pretty good. It’s a great place to walk in have a drink and a bite to eat and people watch as you take a break from the sun. The patio is really cool. We lucked out and got a table right by the railing. The waiting staff was friendly a knowledgeable of their menu. I got the fish tacos and had a couple local beers. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. We had a great time here.
We were looking for shrimp and grits but settled for a chicken sandwich and nachos. With three cans of coke our bill was $76. Our server was nice but really kept forgetting us even though we were the only guests inside for awhile until another couple showed up.
Ok the salad was yummy Cilantro Lime Shrimp. Ok super yummy. Staff was very attentive friendly must go to this place. Great items on their menu made it hard to chose. Reason for the four stars is because the chocolate cake was alittle stale. The Malbec was too warm should be 65 temp.
I had a very delicious California omelette and a great bellini martini. Lots of choices on the menu and breakfast anytime. Pretty good service, but they forgot to bring a side that I ordered. This place can get very busy during high season and for Sunday brunch. Otherwise, it can be pretty casual with no wait.
I visited on a Sunday. There is a bit of a wait for breakfast - about 30 mins. Service is average, but on a busy day, this may be expected. The water tasted funny, so you may want to ask for bottled water. Cocktails are not their forte. Despite the rocky start, the food was actually pretty good! Flavorful and decent portions. I had an egg sandwich, and tried my friends' dishes as well: the egg breakfast options are pretty much a 10, the burger sliders were tasty, and the French toast was average. With that said, enjoy!
I came here with a friend for breakfast because I tried it for the first time a few years ago and wanted to see if it was as good as I remember. The Front Porch Cafe is located inside the Z Ocean hotel but it's easy to find since there's an outdoor section. I walked in with my friend on a Friday morning and there was no wait for the bar so we sat there. The menu had standard fare including shrimp and grits. I was in the mood for some french toast so I ordered french toast, eggs, and bacon. The only downside to this was the size of the french toast. They gave me 3 pieces of toast (1.5 slices of bread) and I wondered why they didn't give me the full 2 slices at least. It was pretty good though. My friend ordered pancakes and that was a decent size. Overall, the meals were pretty good but nothing special.
I heard from a local that their brunch was good. It’s true that their mint lemonade was tasty and fresh, but their “Cuban breakfast” was on the bad side of okay. The menu said it would have shredded beef (which it did not) and avocado (it was guacamole). If it had cost $20 all in, I would have been okay with how mediocre it was, but since i spent $50 I was disappointed.
A decent place in a premium location with whopping prices: $102 for 4 breakfasts and one coffee. No kids menu. Portions are more European than proper American but food was tasty. No waffles or pancakes first thing (they open at 8) which was annoying as that was half the breakfast menu which was unavailable. They add 20% service and then, this is America after all, expect you to tip 😂 no thanks. We had the California omelette which was delicious; French toast was delicious and 3 egg breakfast was delicious.
This place used to be a longtime family favorite for over 10 years in Miami but sadly the food quality and service has gone downhill. Came here recently for a work trip on a beautiful day, they seated our party indoors in the most depressing corner of the restaurant and then after ordering a simple eggs with toast and bacon the eggs arrived cold and seemed as if they had been cooked a while ago. The staff and servers were all very nice people but the long waits for food delivery and seating a party indoors when there are plenty of tables outside is a bit disappointing. Especially when a place is called the “front porch cafe”. This is the type of situation where you have an extraordinary location with great vibe but they need to make sure that every guest feels that they are getting the attention they deserve and consider that the vibe really does matter.
Food was good. We just got a bad server. She needs to find a different line of work. Cool Atmosphere.
The outdoor seating had a smell of bird poop which didn't make for a super appetizing meal. The pancakes I had were somehow dry and chewy at the same time. Service was....fine.
Food was great just did not like the fact that they do not advise that of you upgrade to a different liquor they charge you the normal price plus a cost of a shot, so a espresso martini with ketel one was $17 plus a shot charge of $17. Breakfast for 3 people was over $200 due to the upcharge
$23.00 surcharge. I didn't taste the salmon in my Miami omelet. $155.00 for three people to eat breakfast is a bit high. No catchup for the potato squares. Dirty menus need to be wiped down. Butter tasted of freezerburn... Not a very pleasant experience.
We went in for what we thought was going to be a quick breakfast for 2 but we waited almost 1 hr for 2 orders of eggs with bacon. But if im not mistaken I believe i saw the people that got there after us getting served before us. When we decided to leave because the food was taking too long thats when the same girl that took our order came with our food. She was very nice and apologized about the situation and said they were very busy but the business was not busy when we got there. The waiter was kind enough to offer us free drinks for the inconvenience. The breakfast was good even though we didn’t want to eat it And they charged us servers fee.
Food was fine, but service was terrible. A 20% tip is automatically included for all tables. Both our table and the tables around us had to flag down the server constantly, and even with that the server forgot multiple times items we ordered. I was served a mimosa that was 80% orange juice.
Flavorless food. One of the most tasteless huevos rancheros I have ever had. Eggs were bland, coffee weak and pancakes overdone. Nice ambiance. 20% gratuity pre added (they don't tell you) and then they try to add another 15% on the credit card machine. Absolute con job.
Terrible service... She talked to us like someone forced her to work there... I ordered mediteranian eggs, did not get feta... I wasn't asked what bread do I want, she brought us coffee with no bottom dish, did not check on us once, I had to ask host for Feta(there was no feta in a mediteranian meal), just so she would get to us several minutes (It was not even busy) to say there is no feta is parmesan okay? And it is not okay, because that is not the part of dish I ordered... Terrible experience, the only good thing is location...
We were here on Sunday around 6:30 PM. There weren't many people. We waited for the fried calamari for about 30 minutes and the seafood risotto and churrasco steak for about 45 minutes. In the end, the calamari was rubbery and tasteless. The meat was dry and didn't resemble churrasco at all. Only because we were hungry and they brought us French fries did we stay until the end. But we had a terrible experience with this food… I do not recommend it.
On a recent trip, four of us ate at this restaurant. We had heard good things from reviews and others who had been here before. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same. The food and drinks were decent, but certainly not worth the high price tag. The price + the inconsistent/inaccurate menu descriptions were disappointing. Two of us ordered a variation of the eggs Benedict and one ordered the tacos, all of which the menu says come with toast. We did not receive toast, and when we asked about it, we were told that those items do not come with toast. We all agreed that the fruit platter was amazing both in presentation and taste; however, it did not come with half the fruit listed on the menu. The worst part of our experience was the service. Our waitress was difficult to get information from and hard to hear as she mumbled most of the time. We had to ask repeatedly for things like drinks, and half our table was served a good 7-10 minutes before the other half. Refills on water were not offered or given when requested. When we were ready to pay, we had to track down our waitress multiple times to request the bill. Finally, we were only able to pay when another waitress offered to help and were shocked when the bill was $180. All in all, a mediocre experience made worse by poor service. There are many other better options nearby that I would recommend over this place. Edit to add: we watched our waitress “clean” other tables with Febreze. I imagine those tables were not very clean.
Nice enough food but genuinely poor service. The hostess seemed totally spaced, never bothered to bring us menus (got them myself) and only brought half our drinks order. Ordered a dish which said it came with toast, when it didnt come, the hostess said 'that dish doesnt come with toast', despite being clearly written on the menu. Asked 3 times for the check then told it would be an extra $4 to pay on a card. The food was fine but probably the worst customer service in Miami Beach and no atmosphere. It's a shame as the day before it looked busy, bizzy and fun.
Parece que bien!! Pero luego cobran 20% de más de recargo sobre los precios de la carta. Ojo! Solo compren mejor aceite
If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I have never in my entire life been served such disgusting food. The description says "relaxing vibes and ocean views" both are untrue. Club vibes with broken tables, too loud of music. My food was microwaved to a crisp. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and 10 mins later was told they didn't have enough waffle batter, it was 11am. They then brought him lunch meat as his breakfast ham. My sauage patty looked like a dog treat. My scrambled eggs were half cooked and slimy. All for a whopping $80. There was only one other group in the restaurant and they left with 3/4 of their food not eaten. I am shocked how a place is still in busniess.
The food was OK.. server was young and forgot a few things (which I can forget and forgive as I was a server at one point; hence why I tipped him 20%). He Left out a drink and a side of limes for one of our dishes that we asked for but what you have to watch is they tried charging 20% service charge for a party of 2 and was told that service charge was NOT the tip. That it went to the house/restaurant. We didn’t catch it at first but still paid 20% in tip. We sat there and finished our drink and started thinking it was a lot higher than what it should have been and once we realized it; we complained. We were told it was for the service we received. I’ve never in my life heard of such a thing. Service wise it was below average and you’re gonna charge 20% and again that was NOT the tip. This is a straight up scam. We complained.. they supposedly did a refund and I have the receipt of the refund but it’s still to have gone back in my account as I just left 15mins ago. I will follow up with this review once it’s issued back to my account. A total of more than 40% in service is crazy!!! By the way shout out to Nancy the photographer! She did NOT take our picture as I declined because I was in the middle of eating but she was extremely nice and personable.
The food was disgusting, and there were too many mistakes. It was so bad that it wasn’t even worth half the price I paid. I would never go back there again.
11/4 came here for breakfast, took 20 minutes to get served, another 20 to get the water i asked for. When food eventually arrived, it didnt have the accompaniments it was supposed to come with. When i asked about it, the extras arrived well after the meal had been finished. Requested an add on, didn't receive it, yet was charged for it. Waste of time & money. Waitress had a bad attitude.
I went for dinner yesterday and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. We ordered octopus and meat, and while the meat was acceptable, the octopus was quite dry. The food overall was nothing remarkable. What really surprised me was the bill: we were charged $100 for a rather average meal, including a 20% service charge automatically added. Quite disappointing to pay that amount for what we received.
So sorry. I really wanted to give a good review but I just can't. We ordered nachos. Look at the photo on their menu board, they look soooo good. Ours had no meat and SPAGHETTI SAUCE. Never again.
RIP Front Porch! I've been going there for over 30 years, and the current iteration is unrecognizable. The menu is a fraction of what it used to be, and not nearly as vegetarian friendly. The multiple extra service charges added to the bill are outrageous. I'll leave this one for the tourists...
The waiter tried to self tip 25% for an inattentive, mediocre, total of two sentences rushed service. He just asked for the credit card and sneakily tried to hide the total so I’m glad I asked what the total was beforehand. I asked for the breakdown as the number was drastically different from my mental math. There was a “20% service charge” for party of 2 so I’m like okay sure I was going to tip anyway and then he said that 20% just goes to the hotel, “I need to be tipped extra on top”. Entitled culture is out of control.
Worse service ever. Blond woman today at 12:00. Minimal care, not able to take the order correctly. No water on the table, have to ask 3 times for things while she serves herself a glass of water instead of serving us. Bad food. Eggs benedict were bad, undercooked poached eggs, salmon with dry edges.
I would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible service off the bat. Food was so DRY. Everyone at our table had complaints. Final bill came and they added an additional $10 tip for themselves on top of the service charge. Anyone who says this place is good let alone decent is lying. Won't come here again. Spare yourself and DON'T COME HERE.
Came here to use the inKind app and try somewhere new on the last day of our trip. Waited a long time for our food and sat inside where it was a sauna. Food wasn’t horrible until we saw the bill. Service was so slow (seems like a trend in Miami because everywhere gets an automatic service charge). Asked for our check and he wouldn’t print it out for us. We expressed how we wanted to pay using the inKind app, and apparently that is not allowed. They told us it doesn’t work on their end so we can’t use it. We both got 2 breakfast entrees. $24 front porch breakfast. The bill came out to $70.98 because of a service charge. Server told us that the service charge gets split through the whole restaurant and turned the handheld around with an additional tip option selected on 15%. It was extremely awkward to select no for an additional tip as he hovered over us staring at the handheld. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Food was not good, no quality ingredients, over priced. French toast served cold and dry. Fruits not fresh. Charged 3$ for hot water.
The only thing that barely saves this cafe is the location. The food was extremely underwhelming and the service was even worse. We got here before 2 couples and they were greeted by the same server prior to us. We received water 20 minutes after we sat down and ordered it. The food came 40 minutes after order and it was not good. Automatic gratuity here should be a crime. I would avoid this cafe if I was visiting.
I heard about this place thur the media how nice it looks But unfortunately I can't describe how overpriced and bad service and bad food they serve here They overcharge for reuse utensils, cups and plates. Cold food, the matcha was matcha to me but oh well I will put this in MY NOT TO GO, NOT TO RECOMMEND
If I could, i would’ve given a negative rating. Poor service, bad food, definitely not fresh. Half the items were not available and we were informed about that much after placing the order and the remaining order that arrived was either incomplete or did not match the description mentioned. The server was extremely rude and non courteous. Definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Ocean drive service will never be good ever again, hostess very friendly, waitress was terrible, came to the table like 20 minutes later ordered some drinks and food, drink took ages and the food don’t even think about it plus everything was ice cold, asked for hot sauce and never got it at the end the last thing was the waitress trying to tell me the 20% service charge is not the tip, I wouldn’t mind give some extra if everything was good but this place is a disaster
This restaurant has moved south of its former location. But it is not the only way it has been going south. They opened half an hour late in the morning and the bathroom was not in use. The service was really sluggish. Our favorite dish, crab cake benedicts, was not available. We ordered two glasses orange juice first, followed by two cups of cappuccino to be served simultaneously with the dishes - a breakfast burrito and California omelette, and one fruit plate for sharing. The cappuccinos were served first, in cold cups which turned the coffees lukewarm. The dishes were delivered long after that. Not a trace of avocado was found in the omelette, and only a stripe of green color could be seen in the burrito. No mango or grapes were present on the fruit plate. One end of the banana had turned rotten but was served anyway. Orange juice were not served until asked for again, and at first only one glass was brought, and the second glass was asked for once more. The glasses were loaded with a big handful of ice, which diluted the juice effectively. A discount of $2.20 was given because of missing avocado, yet the bill was still $116.46. A total rip-off.
Very disappointed with my brunch experience. We sat outside on a wobbly table, it was quite warm and fans were pointed away from us. We ordered eggs with a “short stack” of pancakes and asked for the cinnamon pancakes, and we were rudely told that we can’t do that the short stack is plain pancakes only. The food finally arrived and by “short stack” they meant a singular pancake. With eggs and toast for $20. We also got the $25 chicken and waffles which was a limp waffle with some powdered sugar and a singular chicken tender on it. Took a long time to find the waiter again to get the bill. Overall terrible service, extremely mediocre and overpriced food. Do not recommend, there’s plenty of other breakfast options that can at minimum provide good food for the value
Diner beware! For such an overpriced breakfast menu you would expect better quality food and service than I received with my family. We ordered outside on the front patio then it started raining so we asked to be moved inside. The hostess was friendly and accommodating. The first thing I noticed when moving into the dining room was the smell of stale beer and vomit. The food took 45 minutes to arrive in piecemeal and the one time we asked for an update we were met with a snarky attitude from the server. When we finally got the food it was really subpar. Omelettes were runny with unmelted cheese and overcooked potatoes. My three kids were getting a pancake meal, there’s no kids meal so it was overpriced and they were still hungry after. The kids were understandably antsy after waiting so long for food and the server had the audacity to criticize their behavior.
Normally don’t post any reviews anywhere but this was worth mentioning. We had breakfast there. Waitress gave us our food but we didn’t have silverware. I got up to find her and she was on her phone inside. We both ordered omelets, my order was half correct. My fiancé’s order was the wrong omelet. We told her and she came back and said they were out of smoked salmon so they just made something else and she could give a discount. We’re not people to send something back so he just ate it. We requested to have it taken off the bill and the manager said they’d only take the smoked salmon off because the rest was eaten. I couldn’t believe the lack of customer service. We paid $70 for two omelets, one which we didn’t even order, and an iced tea. Disappointing. For as many restaurants there are on that strip, I’m surprised they wouldn’t be more accommodating.
The blonde Argentina server claimed she was the owner and the manager while refusing to swap a drink for something else we didn’t like. We then asked if it was possible to take it off the bill since only a sip was taken and it was not enjoyable but said that wasn’t not possible and shoved the check in our face. We then found the real manager inside who didn’t speak any English unfortunately. The blonde server then took off the drink we didn’t like but charged us $10 for just the coke…which just didn’t sound right. Honestly this was our second time coming to the restaurant and both times the servers were super rude and disrespectful, while still claiming that 20% gratuity is Miami policy for tip. The only professional one was the hostess, highly recommend going somewhere else.
Waited one hour for food at noon for lunch on a slow day. They offered us free lemonade and it tasted like minute made. Then the food came out incredibly salty that I had to send it back. Then I tried to pay with in kind app and it was not possible according to the waiter but it worked after I asked for the manager. Worst meal experience I’ve had. I see why they force the 20% tip.
I had a very disappointing experience at The Front Porch café. The service was extremely slow and it took forever for the food to arrive. When it finally came, the portions were shockingly small. The adult burgers were priced at $23, yet the size was smaller than a kids burger at McDonald’s. Fries were not included and cost an additional $5, which felt unreasonable given the portion sizes. On top of that, the water that was served had visible particles floating in it, which was very concerning. When it came time to pay, there was an automatic 20% service charge added on top of tax, without clear explanation upfront. Overall, the experience felt overpriced, poorly handled, and not worth the money. I would not recommend this place based on my visit.
Avoid this place. The original Front Porch closed and was bought by someone else. All thats the same is the name. The service was extremely slow, never refilled the water and waited over an hour for food. It wasn't until after an hour we noticed they ran out of eggs and had to go and get more. This was Sunday in the morning. When the food arrived it was mediocre at best. Anywhere on ocean drive seemed better but we were hopping this was the same Front Porch as a few years ago. Dont eat here.
Took the food 45 minutes to get to us when there were only had the tables filled. My omelet was under cooked in some places to the point it was runny and other parts it was overcooked and brown. The fruit platter was wholly unimpressive, with under ripe food and honey that tasted like simple syrup. The waitress would walk way before we could even get out that we wanted drinks. She was impossible to flag down and acted like we were a huge inconvenience. The drink cups had black debris in it to the point we couldn’t drink out of them. The pina colada was weak and I’m not convinced there was no alcohol in it. It was not a good experience for how much we paid for.
