Tonight was a solo dinner at Tomato & Basil, and it did not disappoint. Italian warmth meets Argentinian soul — rich flavors, perfectly executed dishes, and an energy that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy the moment. This is the kind of place where the food is thoughtful, the atmosphere is alive, and you leave already planning your next visit — whether it’s with friends, family, or another date with yourself. If you’re looking for great food and an amazing vibe, do yourself a favor and visit Tomato & Basil.
Great little restaurant in North Miami across from the Museum of Contemporary Art. Big selection of Pizza and even some pasta dishes, as well as Empanadas and Calzones. Good prices and specials. The pizza I had was delicious and I liked that you could even buy some by the slice. Nice selection of wines and beverages. Seating was simple but adequate with indoor and 2 outdoor areas, one in the front and back. Nicely decorated with a very attentive staff.
We came here tonight for the first time and it was absolutely wonderful. Dania took great care of us and she is so sweet, so attentive! Her husband, Luis is also very welcoming, and one of the guys in the kitchen was also very warm and nice, though I didn’t get his name. The ambiance is lovely, their patio is adorable, food was great and just all around, it feels like dining in a wonderfully cozy family restaurant in another country, not Miami! I loved it and we’ll be back for sure!
Tomato and Basil is a vibrant spot on North Miami. The restaurant’s lively atmosphere, complete with upbeat music and festive decor, makes it a fun place for a casual meal with friends. The service was friendly and efficient, the Pizza was really good and lasagna also very impressive. Highly recommended!!!
Had a great experience here! The sangria and meatball pasta were both delicious, and our server Diana was amazing—super friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back!
Gotta come back here and explore the rest of the menu! The lasagna was scrumptious, meatballs with the sauce top it off. The chicken parm serves a lot so but it’s yummy and make sure you’re hungry! The bread is given as an appetizer, it warm, savory. What a spot I’ll most definitely come back for the brick pizza!
Our first time here and not our last, fantastic ambiance, excellent food and very friendly service. The pizza is just on point and super delicious. We got the veal, pizza and meatballs and everything was great. Definitely coming back in the future.
Great homemade pasta and gelato, really enjoyed the bread that came with the meal too. The staff was incredibly friendly and made the experience pleasant.
Tonight is my 3rd time here and it is absolutely delicious every time! We had the mushroom pizza and I’ve never had so many mushrooms on a pizza. It was juicy and flavorful. The lasagna was also delicious; super hot right out of the oven. The food here is clearly made with lots of love; you can taste it. The service is spot on every time. The owners and staff are wonderfully warm, so welcoming and attentive,. We enjoy sitting in the back patio and listening to the cool, eclectic music with a nice evening breeze. We love Tomato & Basil! It’s a hidden gem and locally owned. 💕
Delish! Their wood-oven pizza is perfection crispy, flavorful, and made with love. Argentinian flavor at its finest. A must-try spot!
The place was really cute and the staff was readily at my table and friendly. I order the Peperoni and the Margarite Pizza and the slices were a good size and good flavor. Will recommend for a first date!!
Delicious food & service! Fresh made to order, the portions were great, prices were great & service was truly amazing/attentive. Happy we found this gem while on vacation!
You guys are the Best for sure, we love you guys so much, specially after a great Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trainning at Vital Brothers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu North Miami. Thank you for been so Amazing. Great food and an amazing atmosphere. ❤️❤️
Last night we decided to give Tomato & Basil a try. Oh boy, what a pleasant surprise. This place not only met, but exceeded our expectations!! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. First, they brought us freshly baked mini breads with a black olive paste that was really tasty. Next, we ordered sorted empanadas as appetizers. They were delicious! I am not a mushroom eater but Luis recommended us to try the mushroom and Brie empanada, so we tried it. That empanada was fire. The food was so fresh and everything we ordered came out steaming hot, which is extremely important for me. I shared the Di Parma pizza with my husband. It reminded us of Italy. Great pizza, with the perfect amount of ingredients; the best part to me is that it was not greasy. I also had the Tomato Basil salad and I loved it. Not only the presentation but the taste was exquisite. I can tell that the prosciutto they used is of great quality because it melted in my mouth. Our friends had the spinach and cheese cannelones and a calzone— both tasted great. Next time I’m ordering pasta for sure. Lastly, we had deserts and they were to die for. If you like dulce de leche, make sure to try the pancakes and the artisan dulce de leche ice cream-which I heard is from a nearby ice cream store. You won’t regret it!! Overall, this is a hidden gem in the heart of North Miami. I felt like I was eating at home (because of the cozy ambient), my grandma’s food (because of the homemade taste), for a great price and service. We shall be back soon. I will add a few pictures we took to illustrate the dishes. Sorry, forgot to take pictures of the deserts. I was too busy eating 😜
Super duper cute and delicious. They have been open for three years and somehow I just now made my way in. The ladies were very friendly and sweet. There is a promo if you post and tag a photo of the place you get a free dessert. We decided on the ice cream and brown dessert. The vegetarian soup was mushroom and delicious. Empanadas awesome with a chimichurri sauce. They have a drawer with toys and books for kids to choose from.

Very nice dinner, started with the tasty empanadas and went through pizzas, gnocchi and parmigiana. Excellent food with very attentive staff. The restaurant itself is quite pretty with a small outdoor area perfect for small groupa. Priced fairly, we left happy. Thank you!
The pizza, chicken parm sandwich and the bread bites were delicious. Excellent service even better food, must visit
Such a cozy location, easy to access on a weekend. The food was amazing, got a chicken and spinach pizza that was so good. Also they brought out pretzel bites before that were warm and just delicious.
The best argentinian restaurant. Super fresh and unique, it has a variety of pastas, pizzas and salads. This place is a hidden gem in North Miami. Highly recommended 👌
We have been huge fans of our favorite pizza for many years We totally love The Margarita pizza with onions and black olives. There is nothing like it and it is so delightful and delicious. We only go to Tomato Basil for our pizza it is THE BEST and the staff are wonderful and welcoming. Thank you Tomato Basil. You rock!
Great first experience, service very accommodating thanks to Tania. Must try !
Our family of five enjoyed a large vegetarian and a medium meat lovers pizza. Both were excellent. Quality ingredients and prepared with care. The service is also excellent and you feel at home.
It took us awhile to find a favorite pizza place after spending years living in NYC, but we finally discovered Tomato & Basil! The pizza is delicious and they offer unique toppings. It’s a really cute little place with a great vibe to dine in, and you just cannot beat their Tuesday night special for $9.99 pizzas (including their mushroom pizza!). We absolutely love it.
Best pizza in the area, the place is very cozy,100% recommend
I recently dined at Tomato and Basil, and it was an absolute delight! The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and mouthwatering Italian cuisine made for an unforgettable experience. Our waiter, Diana, made the dining experience seamless and very pleasant. She answered our questions thoroughly and was always an arm-lengths away. The pizza here is a must-try. The thin crust, fresh ingredients, and perfectly melted cheese create a symphony of flavors. I recommend the Meat Lovers pizza, it was bursting with taste. Between the boutique feel and warming staff like Diana, Tomato and Basil is a must try spot!
This place is the epitome of a ‘hole in the wall’. If you’re on NE 125th it’s easy to drive right by it if you are not looking. Parking in the back is limited but there are lots nearby w/free parking. Make sure you’re not in a designated lot. Once you walk in, it’s a small narrow eating space and even smaller open kitchen space. This is a place the locals frequent later in the evening and the take out business is steady. You will be greeted by a friendly staff and served DELICIOUS food! When we’re in the 305 we always have at least 1 meal here. Pizza, salads and empanadas are top notch. We haven’t strayed from these as they are our go to’s but there isn’t anything on the menu I wouldn’t try.
Tomato & Basil is a hidden gem! We absolutely loved the lasagna, the pizza with mushrooms, and the beef empanadas—everything was bursting with flavor. They served us tiny bread as an entrée, and they were simply delicious. The cozy atmosphere made the dining experience even better, and the owner was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for amazing food and a warm, inviting vibe!
I really love pizza. The crust is so thin just the way l love. When l to Miami l never miss going there. The environment is so cozy.
Hands down the best vegan pizza in Miami, possibly the best vegan pizza I've ever had to be honest. Crust is on point, sauce is perfect, not too sweet. The cheese is amazing, and you can have your pie customized however you'd like. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. 100% please come here if you want some authentic Italian food. Absolutely spectacular quality. 👌
Best pizzas in North Miami. This place is a gem. Tania was really kind with us today. Appreciated! Cheers guys
This past weekend, I came to my top favorite pizza place in Miami. I consider it a hidden gem that others must know about. Although they have new owners, the food has remained the same as with the previous owner, Daina. The pizza, as usual, is flavorful and never greasy. I got to try their mushroom empanadas, and I must say they have mastered how to do them here because they are crisp and tender on the inside and not overly wet because the mushroom is cooked properly here. Whatever plate you choose to pick, you won't be disappointed. I've been coming here for 9 years already and it's always a wonderful experience.
First time and not my last, thanks Diana for your kind and unswerving service. Food good, atmosphere welcoming. My next visits could help adjust my star rating. Haven't had the full experience. Pizza sauce, dough, cheese and toppings are spot on. Adding on that pick up is great food, packed properly and with same great service, thanks
Wow a great find , fun friendly and delicious. I entered originally for expresso, the owner suggest it to try the empanadas meat and ham and cheese. I was in for a treat the wrapping light not heavy at all the meat was well seasoned, the ham and cheese was also very tasty with a a slight hint of onion just for balance, the expresso well prepared and all served with a smile by Catherine, this is a gem waiting to be found great food, service with a smile and affordable.
When I say we absolutely love this place…I mean we absolutely love it! The food here is so good. Everything is so fresh and you can tell it was made with love. The tiramisu, which I tried here for the first time was so decadent and rich! I haven’t even started on the pizza. The atmosphere is so intimate and cozy. The service and staff are so friendly. It’s our new favorite place! You must check them out, I promise you will not be disappointed! 10 out 10!
A hidden gem in downtown North Miami! Fresh, flavorful pizza and Italian classics. The service was warm and attentive, and meeting the sweet owner made the experience even more special. The happy hour deals (5pm-8pm) were a bonus. Can’t wait to come back! 🍕🇮🇹🇦🇷
We're here today for Christmas lunch with friends for the first time. The decor is fantastic and the restaurant has that neat vibe you only get from small restaurants. Staff with staff was friendly and attentive. Meal prices are good lots of choices great specials that are different everyday. I will definitely be back.
At “Tomato & Basil” in North Miami, the lasagna is a standout dish. Made with fresh and authentic ingredients, it captures traditional Italian flavors with a special house twist. Additionally, the sangria is highly appreciated by customers, offering a refreshing and perfect pairing for any meal. This combination of lasagna and sangria enhances the overall dining experience, making it memorable for visitors.
Best pizza in Miami and beyond. Setting, staff, and most of all the food are outstanding.
Best pizza, love the energy. My favorite place in Miami. The food is amazing, it feels like home. I try to go at least twice a month.
Tanya was our server she was very attentive, friendly, and made very good recommendations. Place is very nice and very good food
I’m new to this area and have been searching for a good neighborhood food spot. I’ve definitely found it. What drew me in, where the cool bicycles hanging outside on the wall. I thought, “These people are thinking outside of the box. Let’s give it a try.” I went with my girlfriend and we were greeted with smiles. It had that family-owned vibe. The smells were inviting and the pizzas looked amazing. We went with caesar salad (large enough for 2), and two pastas. The salad tasted like a real caesar salad, which we love. The pastas were al dente and the sauce creamy and perfectly seasoned. The wine is fairly priced, as is everything else. We enjoyed the tiramisu soaked, whipped, and layered to perfection. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel comfortable. We’ll def be back often.
Me and my family went there after going to South Beach it was a amazing experience everything was fresh the food was delicious and the owner was super friendly and informative. I felt like i was in italy/argentina. My dad tore up the tiramisu and left none for my mom loll ! Vamos Argentina!!!! We love you Messi !
This is my favorite pizza place. The statf is extremely friendly and warm in the pizza is wonderful. It's also not overpriced
If it is a takeout or a dine in, the service is one of the best around. The food is always delicious never been disappointed with my many visits.
One night looking for a pizza spot i ran into to this Gem of a place where the food was amazing. Came back with the rest of my family and we all enjoyed our time. Thank you Dania for the good memories and such great service. I will be seeing more of Tomato&Basil for some more great memories and great food.
A cute local place with delicious food. My waiter Tania was excellent!
Upon walking in, Luis immediately greeted us with a heart-warming smile and gracious presence. The welcoming atmosphere is a treasure. The food was phenomenal, fantastic portions, and you can truly tell that the food was made out of love for serving a great meal. The best part of this experience was the service. Luis always had a great smile and a very positive aura. Thank you so much for providing my family and I a beautiful dinner that we will remember forever. UPDATE: 9/16/25 Even a year later, my family and I couldn’t stop thinking about this amazing restaurant. While staying in Fort Lauderdale for the Dolphins game, we knew we had to make the 45-minute drive back. Luis, once again, was incredible! He even remembered us and the exact dish my father ordered last time. That kind of personal touch is rare and truly sets this place apart. This restaurant is the perfect example of how a local spot can feel so special, turning every visit into a memorable experience. As always, the Italian cuisine was unbelievably fresh and delicious, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. A true gem worth every mile.
I found this place in google, reading reviews, i decided to go. I ordered Lasagna, which was amazing, with sangria, which was normal, we also ordered Fugazza rellena Pizza, extremely good flavor, great mass, the pizza was so good that I totally forgot to take a picture. Last but not least, the waitress, Antonella, she was great, provided good recommendations, always smiling, perfect customer service skills. I highly recommend this place, i spent aprox $64 for 2 with food and drinks.
Great little local place we come to all the time. Service is great, they treat you like family, and the food is always fresh. Have never had a bad meal there. If you only get the pizza to go, consider eating it in. Amazing. The empanadas are also among the best in town.
I can't begin to find enough words to say how much I enjoyed the food at this place. The pizza is made to perfection, and the dough that they use for all of their baked products is without comparison. I had a chance to try several pizzas there on the day that I went for the first time, as well as their empanadas and the bread that they bring to the table as an appetizer. Everything was absolutely delicious. Also, the service is extremely friendly. I have to try to remember to get there on the day when they offer their $7 Pizza special. That way, I can eat even more!
The food is delicious, the service is amazing, the place is cute and there isbfree parking on the street... what else can you ask for? Highly recommended!
Love our local Pizza spot. . Great selection of delicious freshly baked pizza’s, other food selections, wine, beer. Great staff. Owner Louis, staff and Diane are great!.
My wife and I were hungry and literally picked this place because they were super close to where we were and one of the reviews said they gave you bread while you waited. We parked on the street right in front of the restaurant (free parking!). The place has a great vibe to it. The fugazzeta rellena was delicious and the bread before the meal came out in a cute little tomato can. Getting Argentinean pizza in an Italian place while house music played quietly in the background is a true Miami experience. Local or tourist - you should check it out.
This is a true gem in North Miami! Such warm and genuine hospitality is hard to find, the flavors are on point, perfect dough. Meatballs, and the bread they give you.... If you are in the area do not miss out on this place. Price is also unbeatable. 🫶🏻
My friends brought me here and I felt in love with the ambiance, food, and service. Everyone was very kind. Luis and Danna gave us such a warm service, it felt like home. I look forward to enjoying more of this restaurant!
Amazing place for a nice Italian dinner. Jadi y Santi were our waiters for tonight. A big thanks to them for making our experience so wonderful
Little spot but the food is amazing! The empanadas are some of the best we’ve tried and meatballs are a must. We went on an early Thursday evening and it was just us and another table. Santiago our server was soft spoken and polite. He was very helpful making suggestions but honestly everything was delicious. We had the eggplant parmigiana and the chicken parmigiana sandwich. The sandwich was huge and the prices are amazing. Looking forward to coming back and trying their pizzas.

First time visiting this restaurant. Never knew it existed. We were invited there by some friends and we loved everything about it. The food was delicious and I had one of the best coffee ever! Our server was excellent. They also sell gelato, which looked creamy and delicious. I will try it next time, because there WILL BE a next time for sure! I can't believe I never knew about this restaurant, but I assure you they won me over. Thank you to the staff and cook. Follow-up visit (Apr 25, 2025) Service and coffee were great! However, I wanted to try eggplant parmigiana, my favorite dish, but sadly to say, it was a huge disappointment. It was not as tasty as I was hoping it would be, based on the wonderful experience during our first visit. My wife ordered pesto pasta and loved it. I couldn't even finish mine. I guess I'll only stick to ordering pizza after this letdown. I'd be worried to be disappointed again by ordering anything else.

We stopped here before the museum jazz night for dinner. It was pretty empty when we got there, so I was a little skeptical of the positive reviews, but it filled up quickly as soon as it hit dinner time. We were glad they offer slice option for pizzas so you get to try different pies, and we agreed they all tasted great. They also have whole pizza, other meat entrees, and pastas on the menu. Of course, wines and beverages to pair with. To finish, they have a small selection of gelato. My husband recommends the dulce de leche.
I ordered delivery from ubereats last night and I ordered the Napolitano pizza, alfredo chicken spaghetti, lasagna, and Ceasar salad. I called b4 I ordered that lady that answered was very good and I asked if they could add spinach to the chicken spaghetti she said yes...well she lied... the lasagna was just ok way too much dry meat and the chicken spaghetti was great, but no spinach. The Ceasar salad was just ok it had big chuncks of lettuce that had absolutely no dressing the Napolitano pizza was just good not great. Will I order from here again im not sure 🤔
We ordered a half vegetarian and half tomato and basil pizza and caprese salad with no ham. We liked the pizza a lot and the service was SO nice. However, the interior especially the floors need an upgrade. The people working in the kitchen should either wear gloves or move the pizzas with a spatula, it kinda turned me off.
Came by for a quick bite and it was ok. I was craving the chicken parm since that was one of their popular specials and it wasn't too bad. Taste was good but maybe too much marinara sauce on the sandwich. Wanted to try the tiramisu since a review said the restaurant made it fresh but they didn't have any. Overall not bad service and food was good not great.
Truthfully, I was extremely excited upon coming to this location, but I was a little aggravated when I was told that there was no vegan cheese available, but then told that it was available again out of nowhere. Now the presentation definitely was hideous but I guess it’s because it was oven baked, but honestly I’ve had oven baked pizza before and it was way more presentable. Nonetheless, the pizza itself did taste really good. You know the pizza is good when you can have it cold because It did get cold super quick within a matter of minutes. Regardless I would definitely love to try them out again and see if they will be a difference of presentation. I was very pleased with the vegan options so if your vegan your welcome to try them out !

I am confused when I see the rating for this place. My experience was subpar if not almost horrible. The pizza was just ok (maybe even bad, my husband said it had a weird bleach aftertaste to him) and the price for it was astronomical. You can get an incredible quality sourdough pizza for the same price in trendy neighborhoods. On top of the quality of pizza being very low, the price way too high… they charged me for added arugula which I wouldn’t mind to pay no problem if they hadn’t given me yellow old shriveled arugula (and not wilted from the heat if they try to make an excuse- this was old nasty arugula). I would have been ok with them just telling me they didn’t have it than giving me this and charging me for something they should have tossed in the garbage two days ago. I gave them private feedback via their POS for them to hopefully learn but I didn’t hear back from them. Feel like I need to warn people to spend their money elsewhere.
