Yardie Spice Miami Reviews
Wow, what an amazing meal and experience. While staying in Florida City during our National Parks visits, we visited Yardie Spice and had a wonderful meal. Tiny place but very welcoming and lots of folks was a good sign. The vegan options were great and so flavorful. Festivals were fried dough with just a hint of sweetness. Huge and perfect accompaniment to the spicy jerk tofu. The Vegetable empanada was massive and reminded us of an Indian samosa. The fried plantain was heavy and perfect with the spicy slaw. The jerk tofu was perfectly seasoned with a good kick. Portions were huge and unfortunately we were too full to try the coconut rum cake we had been eyeing. In addition to the food, the service was so warm and friendly, we were made to feel like we were with friends at home. The food was truly 5 star and we hope to find a reason to be back in the area just so we can visit again. Highly recommend, especially for vegetarians/vegans that appreciate great flavors.
An absolute gem and a must visit when in South Florida! We stopped on the way to the Everglades to get some dinner to-go. The owner is so sweet, funny, and kind. She made us feel right at home! We got the Jamaican patty, curry goat, and oxtail. Everything was delicious and cooked with love. The portions were very generous! We also got the juice of the day which was incredible. It had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and refreshing.
Was looking for some great food near Biscayne National Park, and what a gem we found. We had the best dinner for two nights in a row! We tried the conch fritters, curried goat, and Leon’s legume dish the first night, and seafood chowder, fish empanadas and finally chili salmon the second night. Coconut Rum cake and Passion fruit key lime pie, like everything else SOOO good! The service was warm and charming both the husband and wife would chat with us the whole evening making us feel like family. If you are in this town and miss this place, you just lost a great meal!
It’s my first time trying Jamaican food. I ordered combo 1 ( jerk chicken, rice, salad, plantain). My husband ordered the brown chicken stew. Our son ordered the curry goat. We also ordered fresh mango juice. Everything was delicious. The owners were friendly and down to earth. We were too full to try dessert, but the rum cake did look delicious. This is definitely on our list for future visits to the area.
Love the food at this local spot. It’s tiny and feels like a hole-in-the-wall with only a few tables and counter space, but it’s cute and clean. Food is LEGIT, we've had all the jerk chicken, pork and tofu here and it's flavorful and spicy. Peas and rice are perfect. Locally owned and operated by a very sweet duo! This place is full when we go. Loved the vibe!
We loved our experience at Yardie Spice! The owner was such a great server and host. It felt as if we were sitting down to have a meal in her home! We loved how she went through the menu with us and gave us her recommendations! She was so personable and kind. The food was perfectly spiced! We had the conch fritters and they were very flavorful being crispy and yet creamy on the inside! Our goat curry was perfectly tender and the rice was so beautifully spiced! My favorite part were the juices! You have to try both the hibiscus and the mango turmeric they were show stoppers!!!
I would give this 10 stars if I could. I stumbled onto this via a google search. I was looking for vegan food in Homestead. The food was good but the people who own it-Rochelle and JP are wonderful. They are welcoming and very interesting to talk to. They were very interested in making sure that our food was good. Definitely stop here!
WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!!! Heading down to the keys for the week only to have the best food possible before entering. This little tucked surprise holds the most delicious conch fritters ever! The oxtails were best I’ve EVER had. Just EVERYTHING was delicious!! EVERY.THING. Thank you Rochelle and Jean-Paul!! Update! We came back for more! Add Jerk chicken to the list of delicious delights!!
Rachelle was so welcoming and informative on her menu. The food was beyond amazing! Home cooked soul food! If you’re looking for good Jamaican food, this is where to be! Everything made fresh to order! Mahalo for the welcoming atmosphere, we’ll be back before you know it! 🤙🏽
I am so happy we found this place! We are visiting from out of town and this has been the best dinner we have had by far! Wonderful service, delicious fresh juice and amazing food! This will definitely be a regular stop when we are in town!
It felt like walking into family's house and leaving with home cooked, delicious food. The empanadas taste like they took the sweet bread, stuffed it with seafood, then deep fried it and the same with the beef. My daughter had the oxtails and meant to share but it was gone before she realized 😋. We also had smothered jerk salmon, sooo good. My daughter wants me to invite them to our Goombay Festival.
Delicious food, and wonderful service. Felt very personal and no rush for us to leave. I definitely want to try and return to try more of there plentiful vegan corner menu selection
This restaurant is small but mighty! The food is flavorful, seasoned with the right amount of spice, and cooked fresh. The restaurant is located on the corner of a shopping center. It has an intimate setting with a mix of high and low top tables. There is also seating at the bar. There is plenty of free parking on the back side of the building. Yardie Spice is a blend of Haitian and Jamaican food. They have everything from patties to griot to stews and soup. I tried the oxtails, the griot complete (with rice), and tasted some of the vegetable soup. I tried the punch of the day, which was a mix of mango, tumeric, and ginger, and I think carrot... all fresh ingredients. It was my first time trying Haitian food, and it did not disappoint. The oxtails were so tender and juicy. The pork was crispy and delicious. The serving sizes are huge! The price point is reasonable. I noticed that they also have specials that can accommodate every budget. The walls are decorated with plaques and awards as a testament to their great food. Let's talk service... From the time that I walked in until the time that I left, I was treated like a valued customer. I was educated about the menu, and multiple recommendations were made for popular dishes. The owner was friendly and engaging to every customer who entered. While I was visiting the area, I had to stop by. My friends from Jacksonville highly recommend this spot, and I see why. I will definitely be back.
Outrageously good! Hands down the best goat curry I have ever had. Started with a mango ginger tumeric juice. Bryan had the snapper curry. Took two chicken curries and a rum cake home. Highly recommend! I want to try every item on the menu!!?
THE JUICE IS AMAZING. Yummy and hearty empanadas. The menu is diverse, and vegetarian friendly. Everything made fresh. Fair prices, solid combos too. Quaint feel, family owned. The owners themselves are extremely friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable. Stop hesitating and come eat here today!
Amazing food Guided by the reviews, my husband and I dropped in for dinner on a Monday night only to find that the restaurant was almost full. We ordered a jerk chicken and a jerk pork and they were both amazing. The meat was tender and it was incredibly tasty, and spicy with just the right amount of heat. We also tried their home-made juice - mango, passionfruit and ginger and it was terrific. This is a family owned restaurant and looks pretty dingy from the outside, but the food is amazing. The service was super friendly, the portions were generous, and it was very reasonably priced!
Just ate at this very small family restaurant and we loved it. We had jerk chicken wings and jerk pork-both excellent. Homemade everything. In
We came here on our way back from Key West. We were welcome by a wonderful owner who recommend is some food based on our preferences. Everything was delicious! Highly recommended.
Awesome customer service, nice authentic atmosphere. The food was the best, amazing taste and fresh. We tried the Jerk Salmon (AMAZING) and Oxtails (AMAZING) 😍
Food was amazing. We had wings and conch fritters as an appetizer and they were wonderful. Best jerk wings I have ever had. High quality wings. But the lunch curry shrimp melt in your mouth. Perfectly cooked. The owner a husband and wife. The husband was so nice and had great customer service. Talked to us and checked several time to make sure everything was ok. A must in Homestead.
Amazing food! My first time eating Jamaican food and it was a great experience. I got lentils, sweet plantains, and fried yucca. Spouse got curried vegetables with rice and peas. We have a lot of restrictions to work around and they were very accommodative. Their customer service is excellent and they check on you often as you eat.
Yardie Spice is exactly the type of restaurant you want to visit. The food is delicious with very tender and flavorful goat curry. The gentleman working was so friendly and the atmosphere was great even on a weekday lunch. I also recommend the conch fritters and spicy slaw. Will definitely be back!
Yardie Spice is a top-notch diner serving authentic Jamaican and Haitian casual cuisine, with a good variety of menu options including all the popular chicken and seafood island dishes from Jamaica and Haiti as well as several delicious vegan choices and some of the best mango-passionfruit-ginger juice you've ever had. Yardie Spice is small and happily focused on quality over quantity, serving great food to those who know about them, and as such have established a following of locals who frequent the restaurant regularly. It is family-owned and operated by a collection of friendly and engaging Jamaican and Haitian people who will help newcomers decide what particular dish will suit their taste and pallet amidst their particular tolerance for strong island spices. I personally chose the classic Jamaican jerk chicken over rice and salad, and it was perfectly done, spiced just right and extremely delicious!
I will be back again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again... with friends... and again and again and again and again... with family... again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...... The way I felt at home from the very moment I walked in... this was a very different experience than I have ever experienced. I felt like I was in my mama's house... back in the living room at my grandma's house... with my family... the food... the same feeling... just like my mama and grandma would prepare... God bless this place! I felt like I left South Florida and somehow ended up on an island somewhere. The vibe was everything. The food was EVERYTHING! I had the veggie legume with rice and peas, sweet and green plantain. It was fresh, perfectly amazing! My daughter had the griot. The presentation of the food made it even more enticing. We dug right in! We both loved everything!!! I took an empanada to go which I am eating now - perfection. I also took home Jamaican patties for my daughter and grandfather - they both enjoyed it thoroughly. I met one of the owners, Rochelle, what an amazing woman! She is so loving, so welcoming and so attentive! Her and husband owns Yardie Spice, the restaurant next door which sells soups, salads and more healthier options as well as they also own a fish market in the same plaza! Pure royalty! I am honored to have experienced this and her! Give thanks! Yardie Spice is a new personal favorite. I highly recommend!!!!
Place was small, cozy, and friendly. Owner was great, explaining all the dishes and giving recommendations. Food was so amazing and full of flavor. The spicy dishes had just the right amount of heat and kept fabulous flavor. Would recommend the Griot, jerk chicken, and veggie legume. Family friendly.
Excellent Caribbean food served up by the friendliest staff at low prices. I had jerk chicken that was perfectly seasoned and tender. Hubby had fall off the bone oxtails and left nothing behind. The rice and plantain were also awesome. It’s a very small place in a questionable area (for this out-of-towner) but we are so glad we tried it.
OMG AMAZING!! Can’t miss this place. Everything was perfect, delicious and just the right amount of everything. Rochelle is the sweetest! Vegan options are toppp (highly recommend: tofu curry & veg empanadas)
Easily the friendliest Caribbean food establishment that I’ve ever been to. They serve your stereotypical Jamaican AND Haitian Caribbean foods that the world loves to feast on. The owners were very warm, fast and quick to answer any questions which more than make up for the size and location. I LOVE Jamaican paddies, but they served me the absolute best paddy I’ve ever had. Freshly handmade, crispy, straight from the oven goodness! At $3 a pop, I’ll be right back For their main entrée, I had the Curry Goat. It was very savory, so full of flavor and the meat slid right off the bone. The portion size is just right as well. Served with a side of Jamaican Pineapple Ginger Soda and you’re set! Finish it all off with a slice of Rum Cake and you’ll leave with a smile. I’ll definitely return to try out the Haitian side of the house next time. Can’t wait.
Visited 03/2024: Since my temporary move to South Florida, I've exclusively tried local eateries we don't have in the westcoast. Passing by this spot for the last year and a half, it's honestly easy to overlook, especially during the day. With three weeks left in South Florida, I'll definitely return for a to-go order. I ordered the BROWN STEW CHICKEN with plantain, rice/beans , it’s tasty, fresh, delicious, presentable, with a generous portion—I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Excellent customer service. If I had known about this place earlier, it would have been in my weekly go-to food rotation. Parking is a bit challenging.
I almost had an existential crisis because the food at this restaurant is so unbelievably flavorful. I’ve had jerk chicken all across the Caribbean, and in the context of South Florida, nothing even comes close. A perfect balance of spicy and savory. I am disappointed I could not eat two more plates. Friendly and welcoming service was a delightful reprieve. I cannot wait to come back here.
I was so blessed to land upon this spot. I call them and place my order for pick up. Before I arrive it was ready and bagged. The owner was extremely polite and friendly. A little comical and very adamant about the COVID-19 cleanliness measures. The food was so delicious that we did not even have time to take pictures. I would definitely return whenever I'm in Homestead. Thank you for delicious vegetarian options and yummy Caribbean food. I ordered the Rasta soup Steam fish Sweet chili salmon and rice and jonjon! Everything was delicious! Only recommendation (less oil)--but top notch
I am so glad we went off the beaten path for Yardie Spice! The food was amazing and plentiful. I had the spinach and garbanzos, and my brother had the jerk salmon and empanada. We were in heaven for two days! If you like juice, definitely have a glass. It is totally fresh made, and the spices are elevating.
Absolute must while in Homestead/Miami. We went after visiting the fruit and spice park. Authentic cuisine, farm fresh ingredients, tasty, good ambiance and DELICOUS!! Also yummy smoothies and vegan entres and appetizers to delight in. Highly recommend for anyone, vegan or omnivores. Bring your appetite.
I felt like I was the honored guest in the private home of a Jamaican chef! The food here is top notch in the intention the detail is bar none. The crispy krust on the conch fritters what's golden brown. Yuka fries for crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. The jerk seasoning was excellent whether you're a vegan with tofu or beans or go for the pork or goat. Don't forget the fruit juice to wash it all down and calm your mouth. Beware of the coleslaw because it's like eating hot sauce. I promise you once you start you won't stop even after you can't fill your tongue anymore it's worth it! This place is a hole in the wall and doesn't look like much from the street so don't be afraid to park in the alley in the back and transport yourself to a little taste of Jamaica. The fish is also all fresh because the same couple owns the fish doors next door. I can't wait to go back for octopus, ceviche and have more of the pumpkin grouper soup!
The absolute best place for Jamaican/Haitian cuisine. I came across this gem of a restaurant years ago and have become great friends with the owner and their family. The food is made to order and there are plenty of vegan options to choose from. My favorites are the curry lentils and tofu with white rice and plantain. The veggie empanadas are so delicious as well. My family enjoys the jerk chicken and oxtail. Oh, and the snapper? Amazing! During COVID-19, you can call and place an order for pick-up. They also have limited indoor seating due to the CDC guidelines so please know that the door is closed. Do come by and enjoy delicious food and great hospitality!
Our first visit tonight did not disappoint! JP and Rochelle are the nicest and most welcoming hosts. The food was outstanding as we had the vegetable potstickers, oxtail, curried goat, beignets, and homemade coconut rum cake. We will be sure to return any time we’re passing through town!
Until I came here, I did not like yuca, but the yuca fries were so good I've changed my mind.... well, only at this restaurant and that sauce was amazing. I had the curry vegetables with tofu, rice and beans, and a plantain. My friend had sweet chili salmon with rice and beans. Everything was soooooo good we both cleaned our plates. I'm vegan, and it's so awesome to eat food this good that meets my dietary needs. The people are such good people, and the space is cozy and welcoming. It's just a really good vibe and a really great experience all around!
Rochelle was a fabulous host, making our experience spectacular. Food portions were great and delicious, too! Thank you Rochelle, it was a pleasure meeting you!
Authentic Jamaican cuisine. If your looking to enjoy Caribbean cuisine without going to the Caribbean then this is a great choice. The owners are very friendly made us feel at home
WOW!!...just about sums it up. Craving Jamaican or Haitian food? This is the spot. Top flavors! Outstanding service! Super nice folks. The fish dip is to die for. Awesome fish and pumpkin soup, and the Griot is wicked good. Top that off with a slice of Key Lime pie...yum yum. Prices are very reasonable.
Phenomenal Jamaican food with the friendliest owner who took her time to explain all the dishes, her favorites, and made us feel right at home! The space is small with a few tables so most people ordered to go. Each of the entrees comes with rice, beans, a small salad, and plantain. Outside of their jerk meats, the other entrees are relatively mild. I really enjoyed their Curry Goat and my friend the Curry Chicken, where the meat practically fell off the bone. They also have great options for desserts with a house made coconut rum cake and a passion fruit key lime pie. The food arrived rather quickly (within 20 minutes), but the restaurant does operate on "Jamaican time" and one should expect to have a dining experience that's a little longer. Note that if one pays with cash, you'll have a discounted price.
So I was down here in Homestead as a home base for exploring Biscayne and Everglades National Parks. I had a gap of time between my kayaking tour and my boat tour at the Biscayne, so I decided to race back into town and try one of the absolute best sounding restaurants in the state. The lowkey awards this place has been winning really make it sound like a must-see. I showed up right around the time it opened, but the small dining room was almost already full! Popular! So we squeeze into a corner, and walk to this absolutely delightful lady who does it all, serving, cashing out, to-go orders. She was the jack of all trades here, probably the owner. She was great. While were were waiting for our food, I tried out a Jamaican cream soda, as seen in the picture. It was very good. Not too sweet, not too creamy, can't explain it better than that. It was good. And they have a cooler full of other delightful looking drinks there in the middle of the dining room. As for the food itself, I had to go with the Jamaican Curry Goat (Comes with Rice, Salad and sweet plantain). Goat is not popular enough in this country, but if everyone just tried this curry goat, there would be an explosion, I promise. But then, the price of goat would soar, so nevermind. Don't try this. But serious. This stuff was So tender. Fell off the bone with no effort whatsoever, and the flavor was deep, deep deep, and not too spicy. The Jamaican rice that it came with was very fluffy and absorbed all the curry juice super nicely, spreading the love. And this dish came with dessert, the sweet plantains were ooey gooey and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I'm sure you've heard of this place from somewhere if you've landed here reading this, and rest assured, this place is amazing, some of the best food I've found in homestead, and the best curry goat I've ever had that wasn't made my a friend. Real home cooking. Perfect.
Highly underrated spot and easy to miss. Food is really good and the service is very homely! Highly recommend if you want to have good and authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food!
The owner is so kind and helps you through the menu when you walk in. I believe his wife does the cooking in the back and man is it tasty. This was my first time having Jamacian/Hiatian food and I will definitely try more of it in the future! Thank you for the wonderful introduction to the cuisine!
Great food and great service! There was only one outside light, and inside wasn't visible from outside. So I wasn't sure what to expect. I was so glad I didn't walk away and leave. The lady (most likely the owner) was so kind that she explained some of the recommended dishes and answered our questions since this was our first time. Because I was craving for chickens, I ordered their combo #1. She warned us that all of their food was spicy, but it wasn't that spicy for me. I enjoyed everything on the plate. It was very tasty, and I wished I had a bigger stomach to try different dishes since they all looked good! I highly recommend this place of you are staying in Florida City. If I had a chance, I would stop by again and try different dishes.
The food was amazing. Incredible jerk tofu, perfectly seasoned with the heat and kick you would expect. The plantains were sweet and combined beautifully. I haven’t had the empanada yet but can only imagine it will follow suit. Portions were great, will probably last me two meals. The people were lovely, so friendly and welcoming. Cannot recommend highly enough.
OMG I’m in love. This little Jamaican and Haitian spot is definitely a gem. Customers service was above and beyond and the food was fresh and tasty. Conch Fritters for an appetizer and Fried Yellowtail Snapper over creamy grits with tomato relish. The fish was brought into from the Keys this morning.
I was traveling with my girlfriend through Florida for few days already, a bit tired we were searching for good vegan meals (no junky beyond burger). And we've get the chance to find Yardie Spice where Jean-Paul and Rochelle not only cook fresh delicious food but also welcome you with big smile, crack jokes, take time to speak with their clients. We even came back next day because this place is so special. A peaceful place that feel like home. Thank you again, wish you all the best. Loan
Best jerk chicken I've ever had! Spicy. But so good. And the people that run the place are extremely welcoming and friendly. This is the definition of a diamond in the rough / hole in the wall. Its small but dont let that turn you away! Amazing food!!
We ordered smoked fish dip, Sweet Chili Salmon, Ya Man Jerk Chicken, Griot/fried pork. All the food was amazing. The owners were warm hearted and had great people skills. Only downside was we found this place on our last day of vacation.
Upon our entry to Yardie Spice, the owner of the restaurant made quite the impression on us as first-time guests. He guided us through the menu on the wall, providing us recommendations and detailed descriptions of menu items. All our food was served with beautiful presentation. We felt very well-taken care of. My partner and I ordered the Conch Fritters and Jerk Chicken as appetizers, which did not disappoint. The Conch Fritters were very tasty (and filling) with the accompanied sauce and the meat of the Jerk Chicken Wings fell right off the bone. Both had a bit of a spice, but were not too hot to handle for my low spice tolerance. The Sweet Chili Salmon was made to perfection, topped on a bed of rice with a spicy guacamole that enhanced the dish in a way I could have never expected. The only disappointment was that the Conch Fritters had already filled me up, so I had to take my leftovers home (which, by the way, still tasted great after reheating the next morning). My partner cleaned his Goat Curry off the plate at the restaurant. Needless to say, we were over the moon after our meal. Yardie Spice single-handedly cured our after-work hanger. 10/10 Would definitely come again if or when we come back to this area!
Best curried goat I’ve ever had! The sauce was amazing and the meat was flavorful and tender. Get the juice of the day. It was so fresh and tangy! Got the rum cake for dessert: moist and delicious. The rum flavor was good, but the vanilla in the cake was the winner. Owner waited on us. I felt like a special guest.
This was our first time trying Jamaican food, and we loved it! We tried their goat curry and brown chicken, they both came with salad and plantain. I loved the rice, it is so rich in flavor. The staff are incredibly nice and they made us feel welcome during the short time we were there as we waited for our food to be prepared. We sure will back again the next time we're in Florida.
We were blessed to find two seats vacant at 2:30. Surrounded by happy people, waiting with anticipation for the culinary treats they had ordered. JP and Rochelle were warm and welcoming with a touch of humor. It is obvious they enjoy doing what they do for the community. We had the fresh mango plus juice. Delicious and nutritious. My husband had the jerk tofu and loved the kick and flavor. I had Leon’s Legumes off the vegan Corner menu. What a special Mother’s Day treat. The rice alone was flavorful, but it pared wonderfully with the generous serving of legumes. Wish we lived closer than Seattle. Ha! We highly recommend Yardie Spice for plant-based people looking for something outside the box, as well as meat eaters. You won’t be disappointed.
This place delicious and I would highly recommend. It is a real hole in the wall with island vibes, but don’t let looks fool you, the food is over the top. Our waiter was the owner who was so kind and welcoming, he thoroughly explained the whole menu which is clearly posted on the wall. Gave him and his family’s favorite dishes. We loved our meals and they were nicely presented. Definitely a place to return to.
Authentic! Delicious! Warm and caring. This place is unassuming but outstanding in every way. We had fried grouper that was tasty solid, but light and delicate at the same time. The curry goat was delicious and the jerked tofu was the best tofu I’ve ever had. The owners treat you like family and will even tell you exactly what you want. The best!
I would highly recommend this restaurant for everyone to try and taste. They are very nice. Food is delicious hospitality top-tier love you guys When you are on krome Make sure you guys drop by get you some food sit down and relax and just hold the conversation with them. You’ll go home belly full ,full of laughter like your family.
A little gem in Homestead. Best spicy coleslaw Connors smoked fish dip which I can’t say enough about. Wonderful warm hospitality. I must try for anybody who loves sophisticated recipes done up in a traditional Jamaican/Haitian style. Don’t miss this.
Stop what you’re doing and check this restaurant out! From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and Rochelle was incredibly kind and attentive. Even before tasting anything, I could tell this place had something special. I ordered the oxtails, a patty, and a slice of rum coconut cake. Every single bite was amazing. The oxtails were tender and flavorful, the patty perfectly seasoned, and the cake absolutely divine. I’ve been to plenty of Jamaican restaurants, but this one tops them all. The combination of warm hospitality, relaxing vibes, and exceptional food makes it a must-visit. This won’t be my last time here. They’ve got themselves a new regular! Do yourself a favor and try this place out ASAP. You won’t regret it.
Easy to find after a day in Everglades NP and heading back to the hotel in Homestead. Truly a hidden jem!!! Very cozy and clean space, high seating bar top and tables available. The food was amazing, and their hospitality made this one of our most memorable dinners to date!! The owners both introduced themselves individually as husband and wife duo from Haiti and Jamaica. Their food is SO well seasoned, very fresh, very balanced. I’m newer to venturing into spicy heat but their flavors were so spot on I kept wanting more. We started with the Conch Fritters, absolutely delish with perfectly crunchy batter. Spicy slaw served with brought heat but with the carrots and cabbage, it was ideal. We got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Combo and the Haitian Griot Complete. Huge portions! Great value for the price. Flavors, textures and quality were all top notch. You can taste the care they put into it. We were sooo full and couldn’t squeeze in dessert but took rum cake to go and finished that when we got home. Everything was amazing and they were so kind and had incredible hospitality. They gave us great conversations and were so funny - made us feel immediately right at home. We ordered their juice of the day that was fresh made with fruit and ginger and turmeric, highly recommend!! Large variety of tropical bottles drinks as well. They kept our plates and drinks full and even swapped our silverware between courses. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend whether you’re passing through or already local, it’s worth it!
If I could give them six stars, I would. We started with Conch Fritters that came with a very spicy coleslaw. Delicious! We followed it with Oxtail and rice. Incredible! The rice came with a plantain on top. I usually do not like plantains, but I finally had one that was prepared right. This is run by a husband and wife. Everything was from scratch and they only prepare everything “low and slow.” This is a Jamaican/Haitian restaurant.
This is a hidden gem! Very small inside but the food was fantastic and felt like family. We don’t get this kind of food in San Antonio and really enjoyed a late lunch before flying home. We had the jerk chicken with plantains and rice followed by Key Lime pie when was fantastic..
This was an amazing meal. 3 of us dined midday the owner was amazing at suggesting favorites. We tried the conch fritters, jerk wings, ox tail and gieot (pork) dish. All were fresh homemade and you could taste the love. So glad we stopped. I highly recommended!
Yardie spice has CRAZY good food. We stopped by on the way to the keys, and are making sure we stop by again on our way out of the keys. Some of the best food I’ve had. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming and wants her patrons to feel at home. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Such a fun restaurant with a warm, homey atmosphere! The jerk chicken combo and chicken wings combo were absolutely perfect. We’ll definitely be coming back. Also, the natural fruit juice (mango, passion fruit, and turmeric) was delicious — so refreshing!
We were a bunch of hungry Canadians from Toronto looking for a place to eat and we are so lucky we ended up at Yardie Spice. Rochelle and JP are wonderful humans and incredible culinary professionals. We loved our food here and the hospitality. I loved it so much that I bought their incredible scotch bonnet hot sauce and a T-Shirt too. The hot sauce brings me back. Definitely will have to find time to come visit Yardie Spice again! Thank you so much! We wish you all the best. This is one of the best Caribbean dining experiences I've ever had. I had the oxtail, some of us had the fish, conch fritters (so good) and the jerk chicken. All came out perfect. See you soon !! Love, Acie and the gang from Canada
BEST FOOD EVER!! It took my husband back to his mom’s cooking in Haiti. He hasn’t had beef legume in 8 years and it was spot on!! He had the ratatouille moment haha, we both did!
We had fried conch and shrimp with a creamy Sriracha sauce, and it was all delicious! I had a fried sweet plantain on the side, which is one of my favorite things in the world, and it was perfectly cooked. The proprietor took the time to chat with us and gave us both a super warm and friendly hug at the end. Highly recommend. Thanks for the great food and lovely vibes!
Yardie Spice is a family run spot for delicious Jamaican/Haitian food. You will be served by the owners who show lots of love to their customers. The food is fresh, homemade and very good. The jerk chicken falls off the bone and the spices are heavenly. The peas and rice are some of the best I’ve tasted. If you are hungry and cruising down Krome Avenue in Homestead stop in for a good meal made with love.
Rochelle was an amazing host. We appreciated getting there before the dinner rush so we had some time visiting with Rochelle before it got busy. Food was all delicious and JP came out to check in which was especially nice. Not just a good dinner but a delightful experience.
Our stomach and hearts are full after visiting Yardie Spice. I'll be dreaming about the oxtail every night. Tried the real version of beignets and it was so delicious we had to share with everyone else in the restaurant. Rochelle and JP (aka Just Perfect) were the best hosts and we were treated like family. Will definitely be back when we visit the Everglades again!
Excelente servicio y la comida deliciosa. Lo recomiendo

The food is ok. I really like the conch fritters. There's only one person taking orders and phone orders. She was very nice. Her husband was making all the food. It's a very small place. I've had better for the cost.
Friendly service, small place with a nice atmosphere. Jerk chicken was good but the Oxtail needed more cooking, it was pretty tough and chewy. Overall it was a nice place and I would try it again.
This use too be one of my favorite Caribbean Restaurants but my last few times they have been missing on the flavor and taste. This time we got some old empanadas that was hard and dry. You spend $50 at a restaurant you want your food to be fresh. We going to have to take another time out from them.
La camida muy buena.
Buena atención
Horrible jerk chicken! It's not authentic at all. The Jamaicans need to cook the Jamaican cuisine and the Haitians need to cook the Haitian cruise. They can't mix. I'm very disappointed that I wasted my money here.
Una basura el customer service aun cuando vas a recoger comida. Horrible customer service even when you pick up a food
