Rise and Shine Cafe Middletown Reviews
Visited in the late morning and had a really pleasant experience overall. The place had a calm, relaxed vibe at that time of day, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The wait staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely pleasing in their behavior — they made sure everything was taken care of without being intrusive. The food was also very good, fresh, flavorful, and served at the right temperature. It felt like a well-balanced combination of good service and good food. Definitely a spot worth recommending for a smooth and satisfying experience.
Skip the others and go here!! Best breakfast out I've had in a very long time, and we go out to breakfast more often than we do dinner. We love our breakfast food, but I haven't walked away from a breakfast out and been able to say, "I can't wait to go back there because it was THAT good," for years. Despite other reviews, I'd much prefer to have excellent quality food rather than giant portions (and who needs them??). The portion size was perfect (DEFINITELY not small), especially considering they use high-quality ingredients instead of skimping to save money. Cost is exactly what I pay at any other diner, and that food is typically not nearly as good. Not skimping on quality shows: the homefries were super good (they used yukon golds instead of crappy white). The sweet potato sausage hash (special for the day) was THE BEST hash I've had. Benedicts were perfect. My kids said their pancakes were the best diner pancakes they've had and they said the bacon was "perfectly made". And this place has good coffee! Big pet peeve of mine is going for breakfast and being served terrible coffee. We are 50 mins away but just happened upon this place one morning while at appointments, but we will be making the trip up again, just to get some more of their excellent food.
very happy with our breakfast here. the food was great, omelettes and pancakes. the coffee was good too. Also very friendly staff, we felt very welcome and would like to come again.
Just what I wanted when riding my CanAm. Can't wait to go back and try their home made muffins.
Best BLT, with avocado. Their breakfast blend coffee was a treat after 2 PM. (So many restaurants serve the burned roast, these days.)
One of my favorite places to get breakfast in town. Order the kielbasa egg and cheese on a hard roll / bagel with double egg and you won’t regret it! Prices are VERY GOOD for the area, Not a place you want to skip!
Very good food and very good breakfast place. 100% would recommend.
A warm "good morning" from the waitress when I entered set the tone for an excellent breakfast. I ordered the sausage, biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and home fries. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and authentic like they were served up at a roadside diner in the low country. Top notch home fries too. Crispy and not greasy.
The food is like homemade. Family like atmosphere. Owner is the best, you are always treated like family. I love that place to eat breakfast. I highly recommend Rise and Shine if you want homemade food.five star food and service. Go there hungry and walk out satisfied!!!!
Great homemade corned beef and eggs over easy, perfectly cooked. It's very difficult these days to find a restaurant that makes corn beef from scratch and not the junk that comes out of a can. Excellent service and the waitress could not have been sweeter. Highly recommend.
We’ve been loyal customers of Rise and Shine for years now. There are so many things that keep us going back. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. We usually have Paula as our waitress, and she is amazing! Coffee is poured hot and fast, and we don’t wait long to order and receive our food. It’s always been well prepared, fresh and delicious. We really like the fresh muffins by the register, and often take some to go. The prices are reasonable and I have no doubt if we ever had any issues, they would be quickly resolved. Highly recommend!
Definitely a place to rise and shine. The best part of this cafe is the personality. I feel as though I am at a friend’s house with mom makin’ breakfast. The Chef is terrific and makes you feel at home. The menu is extensive and everything looks delicious. You get a lot for your money and if I lived closer this would be my breakfast spot.
3.5/5 Maybe I came on an off day but there was only 1 server and 1 cook and a restaurant full of people and they were cooking one order at a time. Seemed like a lot of regulars, but it took almost 30 minutes to get my food at 11am on a Monday. Food tasted good, coffee was very good and she did come around and refill it without asking Place was cute, on the smaller side and the tables were rocking
This is great spot to grab breakfast for takeout and dine in. The staff is very humble and friendly. The food is always good. The ingredients are always fresh in all of their dishes. The bathroom is clean. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Stacey is the bomb! Tell ‘em Keisha sent you!
I ordered 2 eggs over easy, they were over medium, hash browns are sliced potatoes with the skin a few onions and no seasoning. 2 English muffins with extra butter were semi-rock hard. The Homemade Corned Beef Hash was fresh and I tasted a few larger pieces of corned beef but I think they grind the majority too much, over all though, fresh and yummy. Hometown feel, nice people and great service.
I may give this place another chance but not sure. Food tasted good but the portion of my corned beef hash was a garnish on my plate. See photos. That was before eating. Usually when you charge $13 eggs for two scrambled eggs and corn beef hash - the hash is the star. On this plate the plentiful rye toast was. I wondered if they ran out and this was the last of it. Service was great and friendly. Coffee was good.
Small town diner that serves decent food. Got my order wrong, but food was still good. Will update when I go back again for a correct order.
No wait for table but wait for service and food Food is fine- basic Coffee is meh tastes like system needs to be de-scaled No wi-fi makes the long wait for your food even more annoying Combined with being told “you’re order will take a while because we don’t have room on the grill because we are ‘too busy with doordash orders’ doesn’t encourage me to ever return #disappointment
I’m upset with my sandwich. My bread is burnt!! How do you sell a sandwich with burnt toast?! I picked up my order and came back to work to open a black burnt toast sandwich!! So upset!! It’s like they didn’t care at all!! I wish I could post a picture for you all to see. Never again!!
3r final time there. Ordered two meals with well done potatoes and bacon, neither of which was done correctly AT ALL!! My toast was nothing but bits.of ends of the loaf. H ad to wait so long that we had to get it to go and the owner had nothing but attitude. On the upside, our server (Paula??) was excellent and paid $20 for a $16 order because it wasn't ger fault. Also the eggs were good.
