This is my favorite place to go, good food friendly staff and it’s always clean. Highly recommend this place, you can’t beat the lunch special, definitely get an order of crab rangoons
Best egg rolls and crab ragoon in the Quad cities! Even better food. Great people even better food!
Been coming for 20 years, always the best food and amazing service! Sizzling rice soup is a must.
We hadn’t been here in quite some time. We had crab Rangoon appetizers, Mongolian chicken, and shrimp lo mein. All were excellent taste and large portions. We definitely will be back again.
Excellent american chinese food. Large portions at good price. The white overhead indoor lighting is kind of harsh.
Only Chinese place I will eat and I’ve tried alot. If you like Chinese this is the place I didn’t care for Chinese until now huge servings excellent egg drop soup huge crab Rangoon’s every entree a winner tea good too
Food and service are the best! Waiter is always nice and has a great sense of humor. The inside is always clean. And you get alot for your money.
We have LOVED this place for 40 years. It never fails to still impress me. I drive 30 minutes just for there food once or twice a month
Owner is great! He gets you taken care of. Atmosphere is good and the food is phenomenal! Crab Rangoons, Garlic Chicken, Egg Rolls, and the Mongolian Beef!
The food is always amazing. The portions are huge. You will definitely have enough food for leftovers the next day. Everyone that works here is extremely friendly. Andy is often the waiter that helps us and he is so nice. If you eat here, ask for Andy, he will take good care of you.
We love this restaurant. The food is always served hot & fresh & the best chinese food in the quad cities. Great value for your dollar at lunch.
This guy big lair complain about service, I sit next table behind him and his wife, he complaint because he want free food, male service very very good, and super nice service. Very very friendly and happy, I will be back, restaurant, again, I hear they both ask for fried rice, but the service said fried rice is cost for extra, but they both don’t want pay, that why get mad and complaint about this stupid, he super super good service, and happy smiles, food super good, they both lair everything, I see service guy very happy and friendly never upset anything about service with them, I see them when another restaurant try complaint because want free food. The service guy show them how to put food on the bag but they said I know how to do do it. They both big lair, the owner don’t need believe this guy comparing they lair.
Shanghai is the best Chinese restaurant in the quad cities! The food is always great even the service!! We've been coming here for almost twenty years! Very friendly staff. Great service. Good super good.
I’ve never rated a Chinese restaurant, were in from out of town, and oh my god. This is hands down the best food we’ve ever had. I hate Illinois but I’m almost willing to move here just for this restaurant. Chicken lomein was fire and filling, egg rolls were top notch, and the crab ragoons are out of this world!
Great food, great service! To the two Karen’s, If you don’t like what’s on the tv then stay home, or watch tv on your phone! Pretty reasonably priced if you ask me, Mongolian beef, hot tea, egg drop soup, egg roll and one crab ragoon all for $10! Highly recommend. just because Khan talks to you like a normal person doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing!
Okay okay, I’ve been recommended this place 50 times so I finally had to try and see what all the fuss was about. Dude! Best and CLEANEST Chinese restaurant in the QC. We’ll make the drive & only come here from now on. Also, here are updated photos of their menu. I don’t know why they haven’t been posted yet? So you’re welcome 😂🙌🏻. Hot, fresh, fast! Crab Rangoon’s are my fave. Thick and stuffed with ample flavor. Suggestion: make a SPICY Crab Rangoon VERSION!! 🔥 We’ve tried the: Sesame chicken, veggie lo mein, Mongolian beef, Szechuan beef, and the Braised chicken (which is just deep fried chicken wings.) everything was amazing, Only minor complaints- Szechuan beef was on the sweeter side, and the sesame chicken breading gets soft after it sits (which is every Chinese place lol.) Recommendation: if you like spicy - ASK for your food spicy!! YUM, makes a huge difference! & it would probably compliment all the sweetness. So glad we finally ate here. We’ll be back!
Staff: the staff is very friendly. We were seated right way at 1pm. Drinks came out fast and so did our food. Building: is clean and is a nice building. Food: lunch specials are a little over 9$ but come with the entree, rice, crab Rangoon, and an egg roll. Star rating: 5 stars because the food is decent price for the size and the staff is very friendly! If this review helped you, please hit the thumbs up button.
hands down the BEST Chinese food in the quad cities! I travel for my job and when im here its my first stop!!service is great they know what i want when i walk in the door!! Dinner portions are large! We had the princess chicken, chicken fried rice and sizzling rice soup! Your definately gonna need a to go box!😊
The food is very good overall. My only issue is the pricing difference between lunch and dinner. Lunch is around $10 for Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice, which also includes an egg roll and a crab rangoon. However, dinner is about $18 for just Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice, without the egg roll or crab rangoon. The portion difference is minimal, and honestly, it felt like I received more Mongolian Beef during lunch than I did at dinner. The only noticeable difference seems to be the container, which doesn’t justify the nearly $9 price increase. In my opinion, charging almost double for dinner for essentially the same amount of food (or less) is excessive. I think one consistent price throughout the day would make more sense. That said, the food itself is very good. I likely won’t return for dinner, but I would definitely come back for lunch
Food was good Service not so much The male who brought us our food, not very friendly and brought us to go containers I put then in the brown bag, it tore so asked for another bag. He got upset by this and proceeded to remove me in a snotty tone, you put in like this not lime you and spill..and you carry soup no bag??? What would it not go in bag ??among a few other things is not impressed with service lately.
Major drop off in quality. I’ve literally visited this restaurant since the late 1980’s and back in the day it was some of the best Chinese food around. After a change in ownership I initially thought it was just as good but something here about the consistency has seriously changed. It used to be 9/10 times it was great, but as of late the chances of getting a good meal has dropped significantly. I don’t know how else to say it, the food tastes like it’s leftovers. Once upon a time every meal was served hot and fresh with ample sauce, now the food is often times tough and chewy, with no sauce. You know how that happens? Microwaved food. My guess is that due to lack of staff at the beginning of the week they make large portions of their food, and then just re-warm it as necessary. It creates a very unpleasant mouth feel and it makes the food taste and smell weird. When this place is good, 5 stars all the way, but that doesn’t really happen anymore. After 3 bad meals in a row, I don’t think I’ll be going back, which pains me to say.
