Amarcord Milano Reviews
I can’t recommend cafe amarcord enough. It is our go-to spot for date night or celebrations. The food is always excellent, service is seamless, and the vibe is perfect for a special dinner with loved ones. The pasta is cooked to perfect al dente. The shrimp and wild mushroom pasta is a favorite, along with the chicken which is juicy and perfectly spiced. If you haven’t been yet, go!
We had the rainbow trout special. Very flavorful and the avocado complements it nicely. Also, we had the Orazo fish. It is native to Italy and has the texture of bass. This dish is made in a white wine reduction sauce with lemon. Mild fish and it was very flavorful. both were excellent.
My friends and I stopped here for a delicious lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon. I enjoyed a fantastic lamb burger and we shared a seasonal arugula salad for a starter. We also all enjoyed fantastic cocktails to wash it all down. I highly recommend stopping by. You will be happy you did!
Randomly saw the restaurant on Google maps and added it to my list. Met my female coworkers for dinner. Fabulous! My favorite cocktail was an espresso martini. It was not sweet (a plus for me), but had a wonderful flavor with a bartender secret ingredient. The beet and barrata appetizer is a winner. It's more like a deconstructed barrata bit delicious. Shared the cute purse shaped cheese stuffed fiocchi pasta with brown butter pasta special, PISTACHIO BURRATA and SHRIMP WITH WILD MUSHROOMS. All pasta dishes were distinct and delicious. We finished a wonderful girls' night out with an amazing espreaso dessert. Ambiance was dark.and romantic - great for date night. Was very happy i stumbled onto the Cafe on my liat. Jessica took great care of us and the bartenders drinks were spot on.
After exploring the DIA, I stumbled upon this cozy spot, and it was the perfect choice. The pasta was absolutely delicious, and the warm, welcoming service made the experience even better. On a chilly day, it added a wholesome touch to my one-day trip to Beacon. Such a lovely place—I’d highly recommend it!
We recommend this restaurant to all our guests as it’s our place to go for a special evening out. The ambience of the restaurant is elegant but relaxed; the staff are always friendly, knowledgeable of the food being served as well as the beverages that would accompany your dish; the food on the menu is prepared and served with exquisite taste and we always look forward to “the specials” for that evening as they are always tempting for us to try new dishes. Make sure you get a reservation as they’re always busy.
The service was unparalleled! They were able to sit us at the perfect table for our anniversary. The waitress was so attentive, and Made sure that everything was welcoming. The food was exquisite; flavor in every bite. At the end, they gave us Champagne on the house, for our Anniversary. We will be back!
Beacon is the best and cutest little town! So much to do and so many places to eat so we had a hard time deciding. We picked Cafe Amarcord and were not disappointed. The inside was beautiful and fancy but we chose outdoor dining off to the side. Our waiter (I think Ken) was pleasant and felt natural, like he knew his stuff and wasn't trying too hard. Our cocktails looked and tasted artisan. I think about $13 each so certainly on the pricey side but my husband and I don't get time out for ourselves too frequently so it was worth the splurge. We got some warm toasty break with this dipping sauce. The bread pretty much serviced as a vessel to get a giant heaping mouthful of the sauce. I asked what was in it and promptly forgot but it was tomato based. Trust me, yummy!! I had the meyer lemon rabbit. I love lemo but have yet to try rabbit. It tasted like chicken and was over polenta and some braised veggies. I honestly would've liked even more lemon taste or maybe some capers but I would order it again. My husband had the duck ragu and was very happy. This isn't a place I would go to all the time. It is fancy and pricey but I would certainly go back for an anniversary or special occasion.
Incredible! Every part of this meal was exceptional . From the bread to dessert every bite was memorable. There’s not enough ways to say you must go here. The staff was knowledgeable and sold the dishes perfectly the atmosphere was calm and romantic we had mussels that were fresh and cooked in the most delicious broth we also had lamb, fettuccine bolganese ,the special of pasta purses with 3 cheese and pear and chocolate dessert heaven go here go here go here
Great restaurant to visit but the service was a little bit off. Overall the food was good, especially the chocolate cake. ✨The starter, sausage was delicious. Classic but outstanding one. The pasta was sort of disappointing. Although the texture of the pasta was good, well cooked, the sauce part was dull and lack of depth. Would order another dish next time. 🍫✨Highly recommend their chocolate cake. Not too sweet not too heavy. My friend who didn’t like sweets even said it was refresh. I bet the pistachio one would be good as well. In addition, I loved the sauce that came with the bread. That’s why we thought pasta was kinda disappointing since it was the only dish that was not that impressive.
Check the menu before you go Best pork chop I’ve ever had!!! The server said chef recommended it medium, it was closer go MR. I hate sending book back but for the price I was paying I did (plus I was starving)! When it came back it was perfect!! Absolutely delicious, the accoutrements that came with it I can’t speak for because I didn’t even try them. My BF ordered a special, which was pasta with crab meat. He devoured it, so I’d say it was good too! I regret not having taken any other pictures but I was so excited to see Stella Cidrè outside of Europe! Check the menu before you go it’s a very different place, not a run of the mill restaurant. I didn’t think we’d have an issue, but if it wasn’t for the special there would have been nothing my BF Would eat just because the style of cooking and what they prepare and pair main dishes with. Prefect place for drinks but again way overpriced! $12 for my one beer. The wine list as others have mentioned is extensive with something for everyone but again small pour!! It’s very small and quaint so if you don’t want to be closer to other people this isn’t the place for you, as we could hear just about every conversation. On that note make a reservation!!!
Our friend Dennis waxed lyrical over this pork chop at this restaurant in Beacon as we were planning for our trip to Storm King, so we HAD to come and try it for ourselves. Verdict? Pretty darn good. The food didn't feel rushed and mindlessly prepared the way food in the city typically tastes. Is it because the ingredients come fresh from farms nearby in upstate New York? Is it because the chefs had time to put in extra care in preparing the meats and garnishes for the plate? Or is it because the peaceful surroundings created a nice enough ambience to put us in a better mood to enjoy the food? Perhaps all of the above. The pork chop was tender and not over-cooked, and the apples and sweet potatoes conjured tastes of summer. It didn't blow my mind like the ones I had in New Orleans (see @restaurantrebirth and @emerils), but still pretty darn good. Steak was umami without being overly salty. The egg yolk dish was a perfect combination of some of my favorite things - creamy yolk, deep fried skinny potatoes, and juicy shrimp. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu if I'm ever back in Beacon. I was very satisfied. 1. Berkshire Pork Chop (mashed sweet potatoes and whiskey flambeed granny smith apples) 2. Prime Bone In Ribeye (dry porcini mushroom seasoning, roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts with cranberry & bacon) 3. Egg Yolk Carpaccio (sauteed herbed shrimp, shoe string potatoes) 4. Grilled Calamari (red wine vinaigrette: lemon, garlic, shallot & diced tomato) 5. Complimentary bread with crushed tomato and olive oil
We had the best meatballs we’ve ever had as an appetizer! However we weren’t thrilled with our main dish. I ordered that red snapper with capers and poached potatoes, they offer cracked black pepper.. but they needed salt.. and my husband tried the partridge in a pasta and white wine sauce..it was ok. I wish I had more meatballs as an entree Lol.. the best pat was the bread with marina and olive oil at the beginning!
During my recent visit, we sampled several dishes and found the experience did not meet my expectations. The Endive Salad lacked cohesion; the various ingredients felt disjointed and did not harmonize. The Pistachio Burrata was satisfactory, featuring well-prepared al dente pasta, though the dish was somewhat overwhelmed by an excessive amount of sauce. For the Branzino in Brodetto, the accompanying polenta was the highlight, while the fish itself was overshadowed by a robust red sauce that, unfortunately, tasted like a canned preparation. On a positive note, the restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere, and the staff demonstrated attentiveness throughout the meal. However, given the overall quality of the food and pricing, other dining establishments in the area offer better value and a better culinary experience. Based on this visit, I do not anticipate returning.
Pasta was extremely salty — both my friend and I couldn’t finish it. When we mentioned it to the server, they just said “that’s how it is” and didn’t offer any solution. No one refilled our water until we asked. Later, while clearing the table, the server accidentally dropped a fork with sauce on my pants and didn’t even apologize. Very disappointing service overall.
We have eaten here several times and enjoyed it, Yesterday, I ordered a special of short ribs and pasta. It was bland and had no flavor. I decided not to say anything or complain until the server asked if we were enjoying the flavor. She offered to get me something else, I declined. The issue should have been over. The owner then came over telling me he managed five restaurants in Manhattan before taking over this one and no one complained about his food. I told him I wasn’t complaining it was fine. He kept escalating the issue. he just can’t take any criticism of his food. Go and enjoy your meal, just keep quiet if you don’t like something. He was off the charts. We’ll never go back.
