La Semivuota Milano Reviews
A Milanese friend recommended Osteria La Semivuota, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. It’s conveniently located less than a 10-minute walk from Milano Centrale, making it an easy stop even if you’re just passing through the city. We ordered the beef tongue with green sauce, Milanese-style veal cutlet with sautéed potatoes and lemon mayonnaise, risotto osso buco, and tiramisu. Everything was delicious, but the risotto osso buco was exceptional. It was so good that I would go back to Milan just to have that dish again. The veal cutlet was good, though next time we might try a different main alongside the osso buco. The tiramisu was also a great way to end the meal. The restaurant has a warm, homey, local vibe. It is reservation-based, and the space itself is refreshingly spacious compared to many restaurants where tables are packed closely together. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even for non-Italian speakers, which made the experience even more comfortable. A great spot for a proper Milanese meal and definitely somewhere we would return.
Very nice place, Food, service all great, I had the Fresh pasta tagliatelle it was really worth it, Kind staff.
Today's lunch consisted of mondeghili, risotto with ossobuco, and risotto with cream of mushrooms and luganega, topped off with tiramisu. I'd say everything was truly excellent, especially the risottos, which were perfect. The waiters were courteous, and the prices were slightly lower than average. Highly recommended, and I'll be back.
This is our second time at Osteria la Semivuota, and we plan to return again! The quality of the food is excellent, especially considering the value for money. It's also hard to find places in Milan that serve traditional Milanese dishes, and La Semivuota was a wonderful discovery. Generous portions, flavorful, and home-style, all topped off with friendly and attentive service! Highly recommended!
Nice place and delicious food option in a typical milanese style. It's a villavistalago. it suggestion.
The two of us went at the suggestion of a friend. The cuisine was truly top-notch. You can sense the chef's care and attention, but without the over-the-top sophistication that's so fashionable these days. The service was attentive and friendly; the blonde lady made us feel right at home. We spent €30 each for two main courses, a shared first course, and a glass of wine. Restaurants like this, in the heart of Milan, deserve to be treasured. Recommended
Tradicional food and top quality!
Best Italian food in Milan! Service was great! Ambiance very nice! Maybe change the music style to something more up to date and dim the lighting a little to make the place still cozier... Look forward to being there again! Congrats!
The spacious atmosphere is suitable for groups, but also welcomes couples with discretion. It's a classic country inn with checkered tablecloths and friendly service. The dishes are all excellent and rooted in Lombard tradition. Drinks include wine, simple cocktails like spritzes or gin and tonics. The pasta e fagioli with maltagliati, the gnocchi with gorgonzola, and the cotoletta alla milanese are delicious. Recommended.
The menu is full of interesting dishes, many traditional Milanese, all reasonably priced considering the quality and care with which they're served. The atmosphere transports you back in time in the best possible way, and the kindness and attentiveness are a hallmark of the place. For me, it's an experience with added value, because this is the cuisine I grew up eating, the cuisine of my Milanese grandparents, which is incredibly hard to find so well-prepared. A mangia inscì ben gh’è de s’ciopa! Highly recommended.
The name refers to a film starring Renato Pozzetto—find out for yourself. The place is rustic, just right, not like the one in the movie, a tavern-style setting, as is the setting and tableware. Open spaces and well-spaced tables. If you're looking for Milanese and Lombard cuisine, this is the place—a real place that I like for its authenticity, even in the price. Classic and seasonal dishes include nervetti (veal nervetti), mondeghili (veal mondeghili), polenta, cassoela (veal cassoela), minestrone (minestrone soup), cutlet on the bone, and much more that I'll have to try again. They also offer specials of the day. The portions are generous for the main courses. The service is friendly and always smiling. I was truly delighted; it was a dinner to celebrate an anniversary, and the choice was perfect. The bill was also a joy because I paid the right price. Oh, and the menu also features other references to the film, such as water on tap and Milanese-style nigutin (a sort of Milanese drink).
Very nice interior atmosphere. We shared 5-6 different starters, all very typical and tasty. We also tried different main dishes as well and I can say that they are quite good, cotoletta being my favorite. Very helpful and smiling staff. And all of this at a very decent price, hard to find in Milan. Thank you!
