San Maurì Milano Reviews
What a find! I’ve visited Italy a couple of times and am often disappointed by the food which feels like ‘chainstore’ fare, even in Milan. San Maurì was a little more expensive and upmarket but not too much and was well worth it. Original tasty dishes, beautifully presented. Full marks to the hardworking chefs and waitstaff who were run off their feet but were nothing but courteous and helpful the whole evening.
A truly authentic place with refined author’s cuisine that will appeal to many. Wine lovers will appreciate the extensive wine list. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a charming design. Everything is top-notch, yet the prices remain reasonable for the very heart of Milan.
We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was very well done, and most of our dishes had some nice twist. And I especially would love to highlight the tartar with apricots - it was absolutely fantastic, the texture was amazingly soft, the taste was perfectly balanced with apricot’s sweetness, I can’t praise it enough! The service was attentive, the atmosphere cozy. Thank you for the evening!
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The staff really stood out, they were exceptional, attentive, and courteous. Their warm hospitality made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be coming back!
Lovely meal - the amuse bouche, the cheese plate, the charcuterie plate, the duck and the beef sirloin were amazing (the paccheri and the legume soup were alright). Delicious desserts and the Franciacorta was lovely. Good service by the team and lovely decor. Well priced for how elegant everything is. Will be back!
It was a magnificent experience to try San Mauri for the first time. The atmosphere was so cozy and warm, while service was exceptional. We tried the tasting menu which included 5 courses with 3 wine pairings. Tastes were top tier. The only thing that I didn’t like was the sides of beef. Other than that I’ll definitely come back.
Excellent modern Italian dining - has a great menu for everyone (from grandparents to children) and expertly dealt with coeliac dietary requirements. It was full of locals which is always a good sign, the wine was very good and everything was so reasonably priced. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and nothing was too much trouble for our table of 6. I would definitely return next time in Milan!
The risotto I had at this Italian restaurant was simply outstanding! The creamy texture and rich flavors of the Arborio rice blended perfectly with the aromatic herbs and parmesan cheese. It was a truly indulgent experience. The cod dish I tried was an absolute delight. The fish was impeccably cooked, flaky, and tender, while the crispy golden crust added a delightful crunch. The accompanying sauce with hints of garlic and lemon elevated the flavors to a whole new level. The attention to detail in the preparation of the risotto was evident in every mouthful. Each grain of rice was perfectly cooked and infused with the flavors of the saffron, resulting in a vibrant yellow hue and a taste that was both comforting and luxurious. The cod was expertly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors of the fish to shine. It was a harmonious balance of delicate sweetness and savory notes. The dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's skill and dedication to their craft. The combination of the risotto and cod was a match made in culinary heaven. The creamy risotto acted as a bed for the tender cod, creating a delicious symphony of textures and tastes. It was a true representation of authentic Italian cuisine at its finest.
Tasting menu with five wines for €90 was delicious. Excellent service, thoughtful and intensely flavorful food. The best lamb I have ever tasted. I highly recommend! My dishes: Quinoa, Octopus Amberjack Carpaccio with Citrus Fish Broth and Fennel Beef Tartare with Asparagus and Hollandaise Crema Risotto with Saffron, Prawn Tartare, Orange, Shellfish Bisque & Shellfish Powder Ravioli filled with Tomato & Bread, Burrata, Basil Coulis, Tomato Powder & Shiso Lamb Chop, Lamb Jus, Eggplant with Mint Sauce & Grana Padana Fondue Spongecake, Mascarpone Mousse and Currents.
I had an excellent experience at the restaurant! Beautiful decoration, chic yet cozy! I loved it! The food was amazing! I had one of the best pasta, super tasty with a very good mix of flavours! A bit of a slow service, so go with time! My boyfriend was with me and he didn’t find his dish that amazing though…
I was here for lunch 2 years ago and was here for dinner last evening. It was a different take from the usual Italian fare and I had wanted just that something not too classic for a change, but my friend who was visiting Milan for the first time was not too used to it so I think she had not enjoyed her meal as much as I had. I especially found the squid pasta tasty. The orange sorbet dessert had a good balance of taste and textures, refreshing.
The food was excellent, the service slow (I think overworked) while the atmosphere was very blah, we could be anywhere in any city. If the service was more attentive and possibly took away paper napkins (after all it was a Conde' Nast pick) and not staked tables literally on top of each other, I would give this a 5 star. I actually read the review response which reflects the condescending attitude towards customers. I actually went ahead and said I like the food but the service was slow and the review says I didn’t like the food and they hope to have jokes ready for me next time, I guess some places in Italy don’t understand you need to smile and be courteous and you have a customer. I’m now giving this a one star.
