Absolutely charming riverside cafe with great food, worth a few hours’ trip to explore the quaint town. Check out the historic water wheel at the back of the restaurant and the rustic shops in the neighborhood. Order the croissant creme brûlée French toast if it’s offered as a special, but split it among 2-4 people as it’s too cloying otherwise. I normally dislike French toast but this one just hit different. The croissant soaked up the custard like a sponge, while the edges crisped up nicely. It’s a bread pudding, really. The plain croissant off the pastry shelf wasn’t that good, though, as it tasted more like bread than a flaky pastry. The smoked salmon is a recommend. It’s a very light meal on its own, though, so you might need to order a pastry or side.

My husband and I stopped in the Waterwheel Cafe when we happened to be in Milford, hungry and ready to eat. We were seated right away and provided delicious coffee and great service. We shared a brie with nuts appetizer and I got the warm ham and brie (I love cheese!) And everything was delicious. You have the check out the desserts while you're there, there are so many kinds and everything looked amazing. We got some rainbow cookies for the road and they were incredible and 1 peanut butter brownie which was probably the most tasty dessert I've ever had. It's so cute and cozy here with delicious food and even more delicious desserts. If you're ever in the area do try it out!

The atmosphere in the little restaurant is fantastic. I loved the food. It was some of the best food I've had in a very long time. Darren the owner was one of the nicest person I've ever met. It's amazing that the water wheel still works even after almost being 200 years old. This is definitely a place you need to visit. Milford PA is a great little town with lots to see. The water wheel had some of the best food I've ever tasted as a I've been to a lot of good restaurants. You will be impressed with the food.

We were so surprised to hear that the Waterwheel has new owners. We wish them the very best. Tough shoes to fill. So far however the food and service hasn't changed a bit. Still the best Blueberry Bread Pudding around. Continued blessings and success

Waterwheel Bakery in Milton, PA is an absolute gem. Everything tastes homemade and incredibly fresh, with that classic small-town bakery charm you just don’t find everywhere anymore. The baked goods are consistently delicious—soft, flavorful, and not overly sweet—and you can tell real care goes into what they make. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Whether you’re grabbing something quick or picking up treats for family, it’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back. If you’re in Milton, Waterwheel Bakery is a must-stop. 🥐🍞💛

Tough shoes to fill with the beloved former owners now retired, but so happy to see that The Waterwheel is alive and well under the new ownership. Fantastic lunch today and service was A+ even though they were quite busy. Kevin (and others) served our table and they were super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We’re not dessert people normally, but the mousse cup looked to good to pass up (and it was!) Best of luck to the new owners! You’re already doing great!

We love this place! A cozy restaurant that has the most delicious food, with gluten free options! The staff is always super friendly and attentive. The best part is the little bakery section with lots of delicious options!

Waterwheel is such a unique place. You just don't have this type of history in every small town. The waterwheel can be viewed from some windows inside, but ask for a tour if your can. This makes your town waterwheel look like a water feature. It's very cool. Food was good. Omelettes were a bit watery and waffles were little. But the flavor profiles on the breakfast items are well done.

Great food in a charming water wheel mill. You can walk through the partially functioning mill to. This place was featured on the Food Network a couple times. The food is really terrific and plan on taking away something from their fresh baked goods. So delicious

I’ve officially found my new favorite spot! I moved here from Bensonhurst a few years ago and I’ve missed the food terribly UNTIL I ate here. I picked up a chocolate gnocchi cake and, WHOA… it was the best! Everyone raved about it. Absolutely Beautifully decorated and made with love. The employee who decorated it showed me before boxing it up, what a talented girl! Lots of FRESH bakery items, they even have cannolis they fill on the spot. They offer outdoor seating which looked really cozy. Also, a real deal espresso machine. Many Italian treats, they keep a jar of Torrone on the counter…

This is a great place to eat. Small but specialized menu and the food is very good. There are vegetarian options as well. Desserts are awesome. Reservations are definitely recommended!

Came here for dinner, the food was so good I went back for brunch the next day. The vietnamese noodle soup with chicken (coconut curry type) was maybe the best thing I’ve ever had. Pastries were excellent. Service was also very good. They really know what they are doing here. Do yourself a favor and check them out for any meal.

This place was a complete gem. Everything we had was exquisite. It’s quaint and wholesome. We tried the Vietnamese noodles, Bon me, pork and duck pate, cubano sandwich on a gluten free bun and the flavors were incredible. Highly recommend the cubano. We ended with a gluten-free banana pudding that was delightful

Place is absolutely incredible. Delicious food&drinks, amazing staff and atmosphere! Unmatched dining experience especially for this area ( pike county PA ). On top of the restaurant being great they also have an I house bakery and coffee shop that’s out of this world. If you’re in the area and looking for a delicious bite to eat this is hands down the best spot. One problem is the lines to get in on the weekend for that I give a 4 for atmosphere!

Went for my birthday brunch on a Sunday for the first time. Can't tell enough how good this place is! Everything is perfect, really. Staff is super friendly, ambient is very very cozy and food is simply amazing, delicious and with big portions. The best chai latte I have ever had!! This place deserve a trophy! Will come back for sure.

Great regular and alternative lunch menu. Food was great. Fun to tour the watermill afterward (or before; of course it doesnt run when the water outside is frozen). Only drawback is its popularity. You might need to wait for a table and there is no available waiting area -- other than outside or in the shops above.

We ordered the omelette with breakfast potatoes and B.L.A.T., the blat was very good as well as the omelettes but the potatoes weren't fresh. We also had the eggnog latte and Chai latte, both were delicious.

We love stopping by here to pick up desserts before visiting with friends. All the desserts we've tried so far have been terrific(5 for food). The staff is really nice and accommodating. They get an overall 4 because of the way their space is set up and for lack of posted pricing. The way the space is set up makes for a little bit of crowding at their counter, and if there are more than two people it's hard to tell who is next(4 for atmosphere). Also, their pastries have no prices posted, they only have a piece of paper behind the counter for their staff to read (4 for service). We recently stopped in for brunch, the food was terrific and service was also great.

Very nice location with historical significance. The ambiance is quite nice. We liked the bakery area but were seated in the bar area due to space limitations. Nothing wrong with the bar room with the exception of the foul smell coming from the restroom. Service was nice and the food was mostly enjoyable. We liked the Burger and Chicken & Waffle. However, the Vietnamese sandwich was disappointing - good quality bread and veggies but the roast pork was stale. Also, you won't find 🍟 here. Overall, I'm willing to visit again.

Walked into the café and has good but extremely busy vibes. Baked good smelled delicious! Sat by the water wheel in the side room. Service was terrible slow, not enough staff. Working so fast things were being dropped on the floor and not cleaned up after. My meal had a over powering flavor, not of a good kind. We were pretty much ignored. A cup of coffee was in a 6oz mug not even all the way filled and trying to get a refill was redicliously long. As the table next to us with 4 locals were getting the 5 star service. I mentioned to whom I presume was the manager when asked "how was my meal" and made a suggestion. His response was that they come highly. recommended??? Not going back if in the area again.

Ordered a sandwich out today and wasn’t very pleased.. called it in for takeout.. had to wait on hold to see from the staff if I could even place a to go order at all, which I thought was strange As I am a paying customer; whether physically present or not.... I ordered the steak sandwich with Gorgonzola..( which I do not recommend) after a 30 min wait request; upon receipt of the food and returning home; sandwich was colder than room temp and did not come with the sautéed onions as described on the menu or any additional toppings at all.. to sum it up, for 23 dollars plus a tip, I got a small amount steak, Gorgonzola chunks, and a bun which was colder than room temp along with NONE of the grilled onions it was supposed to come with. I also thought the sandwich cane with an aioli sauce which it did not.. I noticed after I got home in small writing under the description that sauce had to be ordered separately for an up charge; so all I got was meat and cheese on a very hard and stale baguette.. very very cold, dry, and disappointing.. I also got the side pasta salad which tasted ok; but not great; which was so small I ate it in 2 bites..I usually enjoy the restaurant very much.. but this time the quality and service was WAY down.. I see from other reviews they are under new ownership.. as a regular customer to the restaurant; I may rethink visiting there again..

We were excited to try this place because the food looked great and the reviews were excellent. We sat down in about 15 min no problem, ordered and then waited for about an hour and had several tables around us sit, order, eat, and leave and never got our food. The waitress finally came out and said they were changing the printer and our food order never went through and that she lost the ticket she wrote our order on. 🙃 She asked if we wanted to order again. We paid for our drinks and left hungry and frustrated. The apology was not at all sincere or enough for the wait. Would not recommend and unfortunately cannot comment on the food as we never received any.
