This is my favorite spot for sushi in SoCal! Rigo plates the rolls so beautifully. The sushi is always fresh and tasty! I’ve never been disappointed with any of the rolls. Rigo has the best recommendations. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a roll or two!

I absolutely love this place for any occasion and especially like the sushi!!! They're large rolls, very filling and you get your money's worth. The teppanyaki table is always a blast and the chefs that are preparing the food are hilarious 🤣 I would give this place an A++

The food at this place is marvellous. The restaurant are well decorated it’s a open kitchen and bar. It serve sushi and grill food. The Chef is super friendly and funny, handsome, and he speak Japanese. The price here is fine, 80$ for 5 dishes. !!! Lifetime experiment!!!

I was very impressed with the food, staff, cleanliness, and cost of the meal. I have had sushi from all over the world and highly recommend to anyone who is interested in checking it out!! Please look at the photos as they speak for themselves. It was unexpectedly amazing. I did not expect this from a restaurant of its location.

After a year of being lockdown, it felt like a whole new experience at Riptide. People were out and everyone were having fun and enjoying their meals. My friend and I ate at the bar where Matt, the bartender, took good care of us. Matt has to be one of my favorite bartenders. The drinks and food were so good! I can’t wait to return again.

Riptide is so good. From the Teppan chefs and great food and seating to the wonderful huge menu of sushi. Everything is good here at Riptide. It’s on the 6th floor so take the elevator.

Appreciate that they also have a tepin kids menu. Food was cooked perfectly. Only negative our party had was no one liked the chunky salad dressing. Not a big deal.

That's your value place for sushi rolls. I tried teppanyaki there too- it was great. But sushi rolls is what i go for. They are large size and very tasty! Also on the days like holidays when everyone else has a long wait, I can get seated here in the booth pretty fast, because the place is huge.

We came here for a work event with about 25 people. The service and food was great! From the sushi to the teppan, the servers and the cooks, they took care of our party and we all had a great experience. Shout out to SETH our waiter who handled everyone in our party!

We went to Rip Tide Sushi for a networking event and we left it thoroughly impressed. The sushi at Rip Tide is undeniably delicious, with each roll bursting with flavor and expertly crafted. Whether it was the classic favorites or the chef's special creations, every bite was a culinary delight. What truly stood out, however, was the impeccable service provided by the staff. Despite the bustling atmosphere of a networking event, they remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that everyone's needs were met with a smile. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond made the networking experience even more enjoyable. Whether it was refilling drinks or offering recommendations from the menu, the staff at Rip Tide Sushi truly made us feel like valued guests. Overall, our experience at Rip Tide Sushi exceeded all expectations. Delicious food combined with exceptional service made for an evening that was both enjoyable and productive. We'll definitely be back for more yummy sushi and friendly faces.

Everything was perfect.. However our chef made a few inappropriate comments.. Maybe not on purpose but the moment was awkward.. The food was awesome.. Hope he is well..

We visited this place about 5 years ago, and we enjoyed the teppanyaki table very much along with the food and service. As a result, we decided to visit again in November for a relatives birthday and were very disappointed. To begin with, when reserving the table there was a misunderstanding and we were not seated at the teppanyaki table as we wanted and were seated at a regular booth. The issue was that there was about 12 people in our party and we barely fit at the table even with additional chairs placed on the sides. The rest of the night kept getting worse and worse, from attitude from our waitress to mediocre food, it didn't seem like the same place we visited before at all. Our cutlery was dirty when it arrived and when we asked for replacements the waitress hesitantly took the dirty forks and finally returned around 10 minutes later only to have grabbed the forks from the empty table beside us. Also, despite it being a Saturday evening, the restaurant was not as busy but the waiters took forever to serve us and provide us with our food and many of the fish were unavailable impacting the number of sushi choices you could pick from or any of the lobster rolls. Just seemed a but odd to make half of your menu unavailable on a weekend night when your primary cuisine is seafood. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for special occasions, maybe for an occasional outing but I wouldn't bet on them having all their sushi options or even good service.

This Place has definitely gone down hill! The past 3 times we have been they are always out of stuff! Few nights ago they were out of Coors light, soy paper, no root beer no Dr Pepper and out of shrimp, filet mignon and some other stuff! Service was not great we waited a while until someone showed up, atmosphere is mehhhh and bathrooms aren’t as clean as they should be! Won’t be returning anytime soon sadly! And seriously fix the escalators already!

This place used to be the place to go. The food was overly salty, had the surf and turf. Sushi was very good, same with salad and soup. They did not have any Japanese beers and the area over by the booths was dirty. Had a bucket of soy sauce with a dirty rag and a nail polish Remover bottle in the booth, it’s very tired along with the center itself. I’m super sad about this because it used to be one of my absolute favorite places to go.

Not recommended. No AC. So very hot inside that it is difficult to enjoy the food. Manager told us 6 months ago “We are Fixing the AC”. Obviously not true. They have 2 or 3 portable AC units- cooling the front desk… but not the customers! The Teppanyaki chef tried his best. The wait service was poor… slow, no follow up, didn’t check the food results… Food quality is down, prices are up. The place is worn-out and dirty. This mall is dying… looks like Riptide business levels are way down also. Finally, the staff here just doesn’t seem to care.

We have been coming here for a few years but the last 2 times it’s been ridiculously expensive for sub par food. The smell he’s really gotten bad too inside of the restaurant. People who are there daily might not notice but we do. The staff is ok and the chefs are nice but not really putting on a show. In the words of my kids “Dad it’s just mid”

Horrible! I hope management contacts me because I’d love our money back, no Salmon, no scallops, no burger, no chicken tenders, no beer!!! 2 sections, no sake, like what!?!?! We came a year ago and it was pretty good but really? For Christmas Eve this place is not worth the money. The fish tank is dirty! I mean really!?!? Please do better please offer customers what they expect

I only tend to write reviews when its worth the trouble but this was one of the worst hibachi restaurants I've been to in years. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait (which was fine) but when we came back after an hour of no calls to check, they told us "oh we forgot". They then proceeded to give us seats between two of the grills, where there was no view of either grill and only able to see the backs of the cooks. (I tried to include a picture but its a little warped from the panorama mode) The waitress came out and immediately told us "I'm going to be honest, the faster we get your orders in the faster the chef will get here" and then despite us all ordering quickly and a bit rushed to try and accommodate, we waited 90 MINUTES for the chef to come. Of the other 4 full tables around us, only one had a cook at it in the entire time. The guy we got was messy, throwing rice everywhere and made no commentary or jokes for the entire time he cooked. At the end when someone asked for the onion volcano (her favorite part that he also had forgotten), he quickly tried to make one, pulling out the wrong liquid three times, making a horrible screech with the spatula (nails on chalkboards not the whistle sound it was meant to sound like apparently) and then gave her the whole raw onion from it after on her plate with no seasoning or anything. The food was bland, with the rice burnt in places, and the veggies undercooked, even raw. Their prices, while transparent, were also extremely high. 40 was on the higher end to start but to add 3 little shrimp to our meals (not the 5 listed) was 16 dollars EACH. This was literally one of the worst experiences I've had and it was laughably awful. We only went to this place because it was conveniently close. Never again.

This places time has way passed . Why can’t we all let go and hope something better becomes available . We’ve come here many times over the past few years but this will be the last . 50 bucks for a very small thin filet and fried rice from poor disengaged servers, no adamame or salmon sashimi (there is something not available here almost every time we visit) and a ghost town of a shopping center is just BS. The eccentricity of the 80s music and the patrons has long worn off . Someone put this place out of its misery please

We visited Riptide on Saturday, February 7, 2026 with a reservation at 6:30 p.m. for a party of 12. We were celebrating both a birthday and an engagement, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We waited for hours at the front of the restaurant before being seated. Once seated, the hostess informed us that there was no teriyaki steak or prime rib available—something that should have been communicated much earlier. After that, we waited over two and a half hours for a chef to arrive. When the chef finally came, he immediately displayed a rude attitude. He stared at my son and asked, “What happened?” When my son explained we had been waiting for over two and a half hours, the chef responded, “We are busy.” His behavior only got worse from there. He was cooking with clear hostility and began throwing rice—not in a playful or entertaining way, but aggressively. He threw rice that hit one of our family members on the neck and did not apologize or acknowledge it. He also made an inappropriate comment to another family member, saying she reminded him of his ex. I went to the reception desk and spoke to a young, tall employee, asking if the chef could please change his attitude or be replaced. After speaking with the chef, nothing improved—he continued to be rude for the rest of the service. We used to love this place, but the service has gone downhill badly. We spent over $670, and the experience was absolutely not worth it. We will not be returning. I sincerely hope management sees this review and takes it seriously. Money doesn’t grow on trees, we wanted to pay for a good, fun experience and this restaurant was a bad choice.

We've been eating here for the last 15 years. We used to really like it. Over the last 3 years or so it's just gone downhill. The food is still pretty good, but the service is terrible. It is 100% due to poor management. I have plenty of reasons why this is so, including last night - had a reservation at 6pm Checked in on time for a special occasion. We waited over 1 hr 30 mins often being told... just a few minutes. After 1 hr 30 mins the head waiter told us we better just leave, they would not have a table for us. Unfortunately there is no way my wife and kids will ever want to go here again.

I have never had a bad experience with this place until last night. I placed an order the new Yorker which comes with chicken, steak and shrimp. There was zero chicken in the plate . I also have an onion allergy and specifically told them no onions however the cook still used onions I could even eat a 50$ plate. I called and was told a manager was going to call me back in an hour. I received no call or refund for my messed up meal. I took pictures of the plate so the can see it. The guy who took my order I think his name was Logan even told me there was a new cook tonight and told them no onion. I come here all the time but the service for something like this happening is not acceptable. Im out $50 dollar on a meal they messed up and couldn't even eat.

This was the worst sushi I've had in my life, I couldn't even finish it. You can probably get better sushi at the gas station across the street
