Mei Wei

Mei Wei is an excellent restaurant with delicious food and outstanding service. I highly recommend their chicken with String Beans, Fried Rice, and Chow Mein. They’re always flavorful and satisfying. Their Egg Rolls, Potstickers, and Cream Cheese Wontons are also tasty and well-prepared. The staff is consistently polite, attentive, and generous with portions. I’ll definitely continue to come here and order from them regularly!

You know a great Chinese joint when the food is the best. I miss the bay area. I moved Modesto 25 years ago. Chinese food here is Panda Express ie tastes Chung King frozen dinners. This place is the genuine deal. Clean and the staff is on the spot and kind. Was there at 1115 and it filled fast and even Chinese people brought families to eat here. You know they don't eat at panda ex but they eat here you know what I mean.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food here is phenomenal the best authentic chinese food i have had in a long time since the 80’s actually 😃 not to mention the friendly staff . I really enjoyed this place and the prices are reasonable! I will definitely be back!

Today we celebrated a friend's birthday, a group of 10 people. Friendly and quick service. Food is good and a generous serving for a good price. Aileen our server, made sure that we have everything we need, prompt and helpful. The Manager Vicky is friendly. Thank you for a great service and good food. We all enjoyed our lunch.

Went here for dinner one evening and was greeted by the friendly staff and was taken to the table. My waitress was very friendly and quick on her feet. I ordered the dinner combination plate of mongolian chicken,chow mein, fried rice, and there was also 1 vegetable egg roll and 1 fried shrimp prawn. I also had their orange chicken and garlic chicken. The food was fresh, and it had good flavor, plus their portions were BIG!

One of the best spots in Modesto for Chinese food! The food is delicious! It's fresh, good cuts of chicken, and great portions at a fair price! I was extremely impressed. The orange chicken and chicken with green beans are some of the best I've had and very flavorful. I also enjoyed the hot tea. Service is quick and friendly. Lots of indoor dining and can accommodate big parties. We came on a Sunday around 2pm, they were pretty busy, but sat is right away. Seems like a favorite spot for locals. Would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

I ordered the Orange chicken, I had seen pictures online and seen a few people reference the dish when reading reviews previously. I also placed an order to-go for my wife, who works nights (Beef and Broccoli). I am sure she gets tired of the lunches I pack, they aren't always 10s! My order came out so quick I barely had time to peruse the internet absentmindedly. In fact, normally when I eat alone I browse reddit while I eat just to multi task my ADHD away. Not tonight. I put my phone down and put 100% of my attention into the food. I will gladly state; this is by far, the BEST Chinese food I have had in probably a decade, if not ever. The meal came with a soup, I got the Hot and Sour. It was awesome. I inhaled it. Their Chow Mein is on a level of it's own, I would gladly order a 10 gallon bucket of it and unashamedly devour all of it in one go. It has freaking SPROUTS in it, how awesome is that?!! The spring onion, the hint of I believe sesame oil...11 out of 10. The orange chicken, is also an 11 out of 10. The dish comes with a spring roll (fried) and a breaded and fried shrimp. It was too much. I am a big dude, and I struggled to even finish the protein portion. Left half the Chow Mein for dinner....I mean lunch....Oh why lie? I will eat it in the middle of the night or probably for breakfast. I cannot stress how good those noodles are. Now, not only was the food on it's own worthy of 5 stars. The employees? Wow! Everyone was so nice, beyond nice, and welcoming. Even though I popped in 10 minutes before close (again, sorry my friends I wasn't paying attention), they never once rolled eyes, or made me feel like I was a burden in anyway. Even as the final families cleared out and I was left alone, shoveling this down as fast as I could to get out of their hair. They engaged me in conversation that was fun and spirited. We swapped stories, and I told them a bit of my travels and the food I have indulged in. I did let them know how they blew me away with kindness, generosity, and amazing food. Look. I have been to a lot, and I mean A LOT of places around this country, and the world. This place deserves as much success as they possibly can. You can see they have been here for a minute, and have a stellar review history as it is. I'm late to the party here, but I sure am glad I decided to pop in tonight. I will be back, but the next time I will not be alone. I am bringing everyone I can here. You know how In N Out is known for their cheerful employees and upbeat atmosphere? I know.... I worked for them for three years... This place reminded me of that. My only regret? I wish I would have asked for their names, I was in such a hurry to get out of there because I know what it's like to stay later than you need, it slipped my mind. Whomever worked tonight, I appreciate it. Thank you.

Yesterday evening, I took my family to Mei Wei Chinese Restaurant!!! We hadn't been there in a while, but it is a place we used to visit often!!! In addition to that, I chose them to cater my youngest child's Baby Shower years ago!!! Most of the time I eat their Garlic Chicken and I love their noodles and rice!!! In addition to that, their Orange Chicken is great and you must try their Honey Walnut Shrimp!!! If you're ever in or passing through Modesto, I recommend you stop by and grab some great Chinese Food!!! You can dine-in or carry out and if you're in a rush, call in your order!!! #FLAWLESSOFWCDT

This is seriously the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had in my life. The food was very good and the prices are unbelievable. The dinner combo has a lot of food for such a low price around 14 dollars. I honestly prefer this restaurant than any other Chinese restaurants. The servers there are very nice and do their very best.

She checked in just enough that my water cup was never empty which was awesome. The egg drop soup was delicious and came out at the exact right temperature. It was raining today so it was a perfect little treat. Then the food came. The plates were huge!! I only was able to eat a fourth of it and took the rest to go. The orange chicken was so good. It had a little spice an a crunch to it which I loved! The chowmein and fried rice were so good and flavorful that I didn’t need to add ANYTHING to them. Normally I have to add pepper or a little sauce to make it tastey but they did such a good job I ate it the way it came. I was so happy with the food. Also the price?? I was blown away by how affordable it is for a lunch plate. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I’ve been eating at Mei Wei since I moved to the area ALMOST 10 years ago they have been incredible for years! I’d recently gone through some financial issues and hadn’t been back for about 2 years. Decided to go in today because I was really craving their sesame chicken and it was as delicious as I remember it to be. I don’t think any place is going to top Mei Wei out here

I've been here multiple times but tonight (new years eve) they were SWAMPED. I dont know how they did it being so busy but our food was bomb. I had to call them n say thanks. We spent 86$ for ALOT of food and everything came out perfect. Thanks guys

The food was very good. The only thing that needs improvement is the amount of cream cheese inside the rangoon/wontons.

The service was fine, though the wait time was longer than estimated on the phone. They give you a good portion size so that is good.

Food is the bomb.com! a friend from stockton found this spot for me and I've been coming here for 2 years now! Front desk lady is not welcoming. I called ahead but when I arrived they Didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in. So I sat for a few minutes still nothing. Went to the register still no acknowledgement. I didn't like that. 2 more seconds and i would've walked out. I'll give them the benefit of doubt because there was a few ppl in there. Still my favorite spot.

Ordered Lunch specials Teriyaki chicken with Steamed rice, Mongolian beef with Chow mein, fried rice and lemon chicken with Chow mein & fried rice. Entrees were good. Didn't care much for Chow mein and fried rice.

Mongolian beef combo plate. mostly over cooked onions, with soft beef. Over all not much texture Needs a stronger ginger flavor, less saucy, and be served over crispy noodles. Hot and sour soup not very hot, and tasted a little off. Chow mein noodles on large size, chicken ok, overall a bit salty. Shrimp is butterflied and over cooked- not worth eating. Egg roll not bad, good ginger flavor and cabbage Pork fried rice ok. Just your normal average Chinese food. Large portion, but over $17 with tax & tip.

It is a run of the mill chinese food where the menu is very familar to most americans. All the staples are available like the orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and the rice and chowmein. All of it tastes freshly made with oils and stir-frys. Its all around good comfort food where diets are out and happy tummy is in!

We came here because the reviews and the pictures was amazing, it took a little while to get seated but , after that , nothing happened, we wait more than one hr and a half and never got served nothing. Not even the entre , wen I ask for our food , The waitress was nice enough to tell me that she keep ordering my food and the cooks will never make it so we ending leaving without being served, terrible place ! Don’t recommend unless you are willing to seat for long hrs and maybe you be lucky enough to get you entree at least !

I ordered Sizzling Seafood Delight with Scallops, Prawns, Calamari, Mixed Vegetables for $16.25 plus tax. Apparently, one of the seafood items was spoiled, and there was no way to tell by looking. It was one of the very last bites and fortunately I didn’t die. but I absolutely will not trust this place anymore.
