La taverna della baccante Mombaruzzo Reviews
We discovered this tavern by chance, we went for lunch and what can I say... the owners are two wonderful people, kind and very well organised... the food was all quality, simple and tasty traditional dishes. A real gem... we had a great time and will definitely be back... Many many compliments ❤️💙
It all starts with the smiles of Mr. Filippo and Mrs. Cristina, two genuine and traditional hosts. A tradition of taste and kindness. The cuisine, truly Piedmontese, allows even those with little knowledge, like me, to approach it, immerse themselves, and never want to leave. An immersion in authentic flavor, tinged with mastery and accompanied by their own wine cellar. Barbera, Freisa, and Moscato d'Asti. An exceptional trio, to explore and let yourself be led by the tones and aromas. In short, everything is highly recommended. We'll be back!
I celebrated my birthday yesterday with my dearest friends and family in this fantastic place... I was warmly welcomed by the owners Cristina and Filippo, two truly wonderful people. Excellent food, great atmosphere, everything perfect... there's nothing else to say except: "highly recommended." Very good 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Manuela
Great welcome! The cuisine is authentic, local, and generous! It feels like family! Ms. Cristina and Filippo fill you with joy with their smiles and their cuisine! Authentic Thank you
A truly excellent experience. This little tavern, nestled in the Asti hills, is truly a gem not to be missed. It's a small place, so it's always best to book in advance. There's no à la carte menu, but a fixed menu based on seasonal produce. For our appetizer, we had house lard, Russian salad, savory pie with leeks and cow's milk tomino cheese with hazelnuts and pink peppercorns. For the first course, we had radicchio and Raschiera risotto, and gorgonzola and hazelnut crepes. To finish, we had braised pork cheek (with its juices) and braised Astigiana oxtail (truly superb!!). For dessert, we had hazelnut cake (delicious, in my opinion) and bunet. The place is family-run, so you can truly taste the home cooking and the care it takes to make it, a very precious quality these days. One thing I really appreciated was that after each course, once you've finished it, they always ask if you want more. Regarding the taste, quality, and freshness of the ingredients, there's really nothing to complain about, only praise. And the bill was really fair, too! €35 per person with a bottle of Freisa (in our case). Just one piece of advice... GO THERE!!!
I had dinner last night with friends...delicious food! Great cook! Good wines! Great sommelier! Family-friendly and relaxing atmosphere! Excellent value for money!
What a wonderful experience! So welcoming, delicious food, local specialties, and a set menu. Including wine, coffee, grappa, and water, it was only €40 per person! The oxtail braised in Barbera wine was fantastic. Highly recommended!
We had the best dinner experience in "La taverna del Baccante". The owners are amazing hosts and made us directly feel at home. They payed attention to details as asking for allergies. There is no fixed menu, everything is freshly prepared and super tasty. It is even possible to get a second helping. The wine and grappa served is locally produced. We would absolutely visit again for a piemontese experience!
La Taverna della Bacante, located in the picturesque village of Bruno (AT), is a small gem shining in the heart of Monferrato. As soon as you enter, you immediately sense the warm and welcoming atmosphere typical of family-run restaurants. The restaurant, though not very large, is tastefully decorated and conveys a sense of intimacy and familiarity that makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. Family management is undoubtedly one of La Taverna della Bacante's strengths. The owners, always smiling and helpful, put passion and dedication into every aspect of their work, making every customer feel at home. The service is attentive and thoughtful, yet never intrusive, creating a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. The cuisine is another highlight of this restaurant. The daily set menu offers a selection of home-cooked dishes that vary according to seasonality and ingredient availability, always guaranteeing freshness and quality. Among the appetizers, a spectacular Russian salad stands out, prepared with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. Among the first courses, the risotto deserves a special mention. Cooked to perfection, each grain is an explosion of flavor that reveals the attention and care with which it's prepared. The creaminess of the risotto and the perfect cooking make this dish truly exquisite and satisfying. Another aspect that makes La Taverna della Bacante unique is the selection of in-house wines. The owners' passion for winemaking is reflected in the quality of the wines offered, which pair perfectly with the dishes on the menu, enhancing their flavors. The desserts are simply breathtaking. The variety and creativity of the desserts offered are a veritable feast of deliciousness that round out the meal in a sublime way. Each dessert is prepared with top-quality ingredients and with a touch of originality that makes them unforgettable. The price of €35 is absolutely well spent. The quality of the food, the courtesy of the service, and the welcoming atmosphere more than justify the cost, offering a high-end culinary experience at an affordable price. In conclusion, La Taverna della Bacante is a place I highly recommend. The combination of an intimate atmosphere, warm family management, delicious home cooking, and excellent wines makes this restaurant a must-visit for anyone near Bruno. I'm sure I'll be back soon, eager to relive such a pleasant and satisfying experience.
A very welcoming place, wonderfully run by people of rare courtesy, kindness, and friendliness. There's no à la carte menu, but the owner-chef's suggestions guide guests from appetizers to dessert. Everything is delicious and well-cooked, with more than one course worthy of a second helping, which is always available. The wine is homemade and of good quality. The prices are very reasonable. Go there.
Dinner for two. I called about an hour before opening, expecting no seats...but Mr. Filippo found me a table! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival in an intimate, cozy setting. The set menu included four appetizers, two first courses, and two second courses, each with a side dish and dessert. The portions were generous, and we were always asked if we'd like more. Everything was excellent, no complaints! The service was attentive, with no long waits between courses, despite the owner managing the kitchen alone. The in-house Barbera was excellent. The price was more than fair. Definitely recommended!
This tavern is amazing. The two hosts are so incredibly friendly and accommodating, it's truly a delight. The chef cooks fantastically well. Everything is freshly prepared and very, very delicious. You'll definitely need to be very hungry. There's no à la carte menu, but a set menu, with dishes brought out one at a time. Eight courses, including drinks, are very reasonably priced. The house Barbera is really good, and it's also available to take away. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much for this magical evening.
We called in last Saturday night on the off chance they could accommodate our party of eight. We had the friendliest of welcome and the most amazing 8 course meal. The owners couldn't do enough for us. The food and wine was delicious - my son hasn't stopped talking about the off all. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Next time we are back in the area we will make sure we visit x
A pleasant tavern with excellent traditional cuisine, seasonally prepared by the owner. The dishes are served on platters so everyone can eat as much as they like. The wine and grappa are homemade and very enjoyable. The tavern was fully booked, but the friendly service worked out well. Worth a visit.
Undoubtedly an excellent restaurant for those who want to enjoy traditional local cuisine. The dishes are generous and carefully prepared. The owners, with their friendliness and hospitality, make this place stand out. They also offer a wide selection of wines. Ample parking is available in front of the restaurant.
