Great food, big space with plenty of seating, and local beers on tap! Easily half the price for food compared to the aquarium

My experience was wonderful! I requested a drink that was not on the menu, a Micheleda . They made it without hesitation. The food was tasty and came out quick. Me and my family will be back! Gracias!

No complaints! We were a party of 10 and all was great! Customer service was excellent, the gentleman was efficient and kind with taking our order. The food tasted amazing! There was plenty of room for our party our overall experience was perfect! We’ll definitely be back again!

Not really sure what all the hate is for, Burgers were great and well priced for the quality. Its a seat yourself greasy spoon joint, I think maybe people are expecting too much. The burgers were served on a fresh Chinata bread and the beers on tap were nice and cold. Staff was a little stoic, but friendly. I really dont understand why it so slow? It was pretty empty, especially on the 4th of July, right next to the aquarium. Will definitely return on the next trip to Monterey.

Come to Archie's. Large portions and amazing food! All the negative reviews on here are so undermining. We are from out of state and could not even find a remotely inexpensive place to eat. It’s right next to the aquarium and convenient right after! Accessible to anyone! Outdoor eating and indoor. Bring your pets, bring your kids, have a nice outing with your friends or family! Relax and go in your pjs or dress up! Will definitely go here again come next time around!!

Fresh hot food. The food was good. The prices online are lower than in the store which was odd and misleading. Food came out hot but at different times. It was really good and had a great atmosphere! I would recommend if you are in the area.

My husband loves the food here so I was going to take my grandparents but the guys behind the counter was so rude and even mean to my grandfather who is in his late 70’s that we decided we should leave.

Honestly the food wasnt bad. Baja fish tacos were fresh, sauce was a tad bit spicy but good. Calamari was average, nothing that stands out. Came out hot and crispy which I liked. Everytime we travel to monterey we would hit up this spot everytime .last time I've been here food was delicious. Now it looks like there serving low quality food with high prices..cmon archie

We walked up to order aound 6pm and were told cash only. We never carry cash, so had to move on and can't review the food. They had no other customers while we were there. ..

The clam chowder was canned soup. The calamari was frozen. The cheese cake was Casco brand.

Ugh! They put very little effort into the preparation of their food. The staff seemed annoyed by my friend asking what kind of beef they made their burgers with. A burger, small fries, beer, and coke was $30. The burger came in less than 10 minutes. When you put care and attention into high quality food preparation, you can’t get a whole meal done in 10 minutes. However, you can when you are ok giving your patrons low effort and low quality food. I wouldn’t waste my money here if I were you. Wish I would have noticed their reviews before ordering. What a joke. How is someone who owns a restaurant in such a beautiful location, not disappointed with 3-star reviews? How does the owner not care about making high quality, tasty food. For gods sake, sell it to someone who does.

The blue cheese burger was fairly good but very average. The mango fish tacos are missing something, their flavor was bland. There is some spice on them that kept them from being awful. The place is pretty dirty and does not show pride in the establishment. The floors are very dirty with bits of mop all over the place.

This place is just waiting to be shut down by the health inspector. There was no inspection letter in the window. The floors are dirty, the tables are sticky, and despite being there shortly after they opened, there were crumbs on almost every table and/or chairs- they weren’t even busy so you can’t blame it on being too busy to clean. The fact that the crumbs were everywhere shortly after opening tells me they were at the very least left there overnight. If you approach the counter and look behind it, it only gets worse. The floors where the food is cooked are filthy, the black and white square tiles are actually black and brown, they clearly have not been mopped in years! The food is okay but way over priced! I usually vote for the underdog so that’s why I was willing to try the food, now I am just hoping I don’t get food poisoning. The employees were less than enthusiastic about working there which led to an overall uncomfortable , dirty, and expensive experience.

Came out to just over $60 which was a bit pricey, but not completely unexpected being a tourist area. The burgers were good, cooked well and came with all the usual fixings. The fries were, however, less than desirable. I like steak fries but even before the garlic/parm topping, these were very greasy/soggy and the portion was probably less than 10 fries. For a restaurant that has been at this location for many many years, I'm sure it was once a great place to dine. Unfortunately, given it's current condition I don't feel like this will be somewhere we'd be eager to return to any time soon.

Overpriced food just because it’s close to the aquarium. Not worth it. Frozen chicken strips and frozen fish strips. Ordered lemonade and guy went to the back and made powdered lemonade. Thought I would atleast get fountain lemonade. Guess it wouldn’t have been any better

At first I didn’t believe the other reviews about the owners terrible attitude and condescending manners, but it is true. The owner is in fact rude, short, and frankly displays poor customer service. I’m not sure if he’s there to run his business to the ground or he’s there to cook bad food, but he certainly can do both! Seeing how our food was prepared(you can see the kitchen in the back) did not leave me with much sanitation confidence. I almost never leave reviews and this experience was so poor that I actually wanted to let the public know. And I’m not the only review saying this either. Maybe you might have a better experience than me, but there are so many better options right around the corner to spend a beautiful day in Monterey NOT at Archie’s. I would risk my afternoon just because this place is nearby the aquarium(the only positive).

Very Sad when a local iconic burger place is run down likenrhis. Archies was rhe must for every visit. The place was dirty, burnt oil smell, staff was uninterested in being there. Awkward models beer sign in random place.. it was just all bad, we left without ordering. The dirty floor windows smell was enough. Place needs an overhaul. Location is amazing and should be booming

Placed was empty even on a busy Labor Day weekend. Ask the The man at register to use restroom before I ordered and was denied. I felt very uncomfortable so we left. Recommend to only support business that appreciate yours.

Explained that I was ready to order, but asked if they had a bathroom before I put in my order. Lied to me that there was no bathroom, then sent me in on a wild goose chase to find a bathroom in the outlet mall. Will return when there is change in management. Prices online are not accurate.

This place doesn’t deserve any stars … the main employee or owner is extremely rude and condescending. He quite literally will roll his eyes , make you feel stupid , and has the most disgusting attitude . The food taste like the oil hasn’t been changed since they opened . I won’t be surprised if I end up with food poisoning. We pushed through his rude service and decided to try it anyways I really wanted fish tacos . The place looks like it’s never cleaned and there’s holes in the ground . Tables and chairs are sticky .. I don’t know how he gets any business and that’s based on his demeanor and lack of hospitality alone .
