Lotus Monticello Reviews
This place was amazing. Great service from Yuki such a sweet soul. The manager Sarah had outstanding hospitality was very attentive to us and the restaurant in general she was on it. The chef kudos to him peaking duck was delicious thank you for a great dining experience.
First of all when Chef Coco came out and introduced herself, I knew right away this was going to be a great experience. We started with soup and appetizers and they were wonderful. The wait staff was at every need, our glasses never got empty, there service was excellent. Then came the main course. The food was clearly fresh, the chicken was soft and succelnt and vegitables tasted as if they were just picked that morning. I have to commend the wait staff on there excellent service & the manager Karen Lu was very gracious to make sure all our needs where taken care of. This place is a must if ur in the area. I’m looking forward to going back there soon. Thank you Lotus for a excellent evening. Also, there chocolate fudge cake was probably the best I have ever had!
We loved our dinner experience so much, we came back a second night in a row... it wasn’t a fluke! We had exceptional fine dining service and amazing food both nights. The spring rolls were crispy and delicate, the pea pod leaves with garlic sauce were cooked perfectly, and every main course we tried was fantastic: Honey Lemon Chicken, Sichuan Pepper Beef (spicy 👍), Peking Pork Chops, and Korean Short Ribs. Highly recommended!

Was there on a very busy Saturday night. Was able to sit at the bar . The food was delicious and the atmosphere was calming considering how busy it was. I would definitely go again. Bar tender was super attentive even tho it was super busy!!!!! Had a great time !!!
Very good food and great service. Appetizers all good albeit small portions. Parking duck was cooked correctly and delicious Mongolian beef got good reviews.
Stopped in for a Friday night dinner, it was pretty busy but the smell of the food earlier in the night made us want to try. We made reservations and we sat pretty quickly, the tables were very close together and the two tops were rather small if you order multiple dishes. The server was very friendly and took care of our needs without issue. We both agreed we had pretty good meals from here and left full.

We came here tonight and had dinner at Lotus. Stephanie took care of us at the bar and was on top of her game!! We love coming to Lotus and love the staff here. This resteraunt is amazing and the food is to die for!!
We really enjoyed this spot! Conveniently located inside of Resorts World casino, they offer delicious family style portions for a very reasonable price point. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice/upscale for a casino setting. Would definitely recommend!
This is the second time we went to this restaurant. The first time was for Valentine's Day, when it first opened in 2018. The food is EXCELLENT. This was our postponed 2023 V Day dinner☺️ I had the lobster fried rice and my husband had the orange chicken. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. No soy sauce in the lobster fried rice which was great. My husbands orange chicken came with bok choy. The service this particular night was quite slow unfortunately. It took way too long for our server to bring out the crunchy Chinese noodles. 30 minutes to be exact and I'm almost sure they have those noodles prepared in bowls on the side ready to bring out to the tables. The appetizer took quite long as well. This was the only downside of the meal. We ordered the fried calamari. PS: gratuity is included at 18 percent**

Food was really Tasty ! Servers are courteous. Ordered Lotus Wonton Soup, portion of which is noticeably small and Singapore Mein Fun, which I loved. But lights too Dim. And obnoxiously loud Music.

The staff here are really attentive and the drinks are delicious. The food however is just ok. There was nothing that tasted bad but nothing stood out as amazing. For Asian food at this price, I'd expect fresh garlic, ginger, spices and herbs. The ambiance is amazing though. Beautiful bar area and dining room. But the food is far from fine dining.
The chicken wings are delicious. Everything else tastes like a big box stores attempt at Asian cuisine. I will say that the service was impeccable for a Saturday night

We choose to dine at Lotus due to the limited options available in the area. The ambiance of the restaurant provides a pleasant and inviting environment. However, it's important to acknowledge that the quality of the food can be inconsistent. Despite this, they are too busy to handle the VIPs.

*Updated 7/12/25* Although the below review still holds true, Resorts World Catskills' Food and Beverage Manager, Theodore, did reach out to me. He apologized and made things right. Much thanks! I visited this location as a treat to myself this evening, June 14, 2025. I was directed to place my to-go order at the bar. The location was busy, but the employee beind the bar asked a waitress to assist me. The waitress said, "We'll be with you in a few minutes." As few minutes passed, and I left the location. I re-entered about 10 minutes later to try again. I proceeded to the bar and was offered assistance. I asked to place a to-go order for chicken lo me in. The employee behind the bar asked a waitress to assist me, and I was told again it would be a few minutes. I decided to sit and wait at the bar. An employee took my order, and I paid for it using my credit card. The time on my receipt was 8:45pm. The cost of my lo mein was $20, and I was informed there was a $5 gratuity added on, for a total cost of $25. I sat and waited at the bar, but my food never arrived. Soon, I was the only customer left sitting at the bar. Someone asked where my lo mein order was, and the employee behind the bar said she had checked, and the kitchen had told her they didn't get the order. When she checked again, I overheard the employees talking, and they said my order was then cancelled. Another employee went in the back to check on my order, and when she returned, she said it still was not ready. Over 30 minutes had passed. This was my first visit to this location, & as mentioned earlier, it was going to be a treat to myself, as it is not common for me to agree to pay $25 for just chicken lo mein (I was told no rice would come with it.) I was greatly frustrated & disappointed. My mother was waiting for me, & I told the employees I could not wait any longer. They apologized, saying they had, "A lot of VIP tables," which I understand, but there is honestly no excuse for me to be left as the only customer at the bar, after a 30 minute wait, only to hear my order had been missed, then cancelled, then just completely ignored. I was provided with a receipt to show my order was refunded, but I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone, to be quite honest. I am one person, ordering one time to go, & I spent over 30 minutes of my evening waiting for food that never even arrived. I obviously will not be returning based on my disappointing experience tonight.
I showed up at the door at a little before 9:30 and was greeted by a lovely person who asked me if I wanted a table or to sit at the bar. Since I was alone, I chose for the bar. She seated me, and as soon as she seated me, the bartender came up to me and said “take out only”…. I went back to the hostess and requested a table since they were not gonna serve me at the bar and she said she could no longer serve me at the table…. In a matter of three minutes. I got the food to go, but while I was waiting and asked if they could also pack up some of the delicious tea and crispy noodle noodles, they serve as appetizers…. The bartender said I’d have to pay extra for the tea, which is normally included when you sit at a table… When I asked about the noodles she reached into her personal Bag and produced a to go box saying “take this I’m kind of tired of eating these anyways.” Overall experience was terrible and I would never eat there again.
We made a reservation for 7:30. We were not seated for a half hour. The food came out luke warm, and was basically fast food quality. The complimentary tea was enjoyable. We were routinely ignored by wait staff, except for one young gentlement who brought us water. Our waiter regularly ignored us while casually chatting with another table (while supposedly being so busy they had a long wait time). The cherry on top was a forced 20% gratuity for a table for only 2 (for large parties I would understand). Dessert was okay.
Picture a panda express in a casino hotel. We received our appetizer and entrées before our cocktails. The food is fast food, at best. When we expressed our concerns to the manager, she was emotionless and useless. For $150, I’d expect better. We will never be back.
For them to advertise as an upscale fine dining experience is a total lie. Yes the ambience is nice but the tables are on top of each other. This was the worst experience I've ever had. We had reservations for 7:30 we come at 7:30 the hostess says they're clearing up the table will be ready in just a moment. Well 30 minutes later we're still waiting and we've asked the hostess a few times what's going on and she just had a nasty attitude and said they're still getting it ready. We finally get seated and have to wait another 20 minutes just to get some water, how ridiculous !!! To get someone's attention for something is non existent and the service is non existent. For appetizers we got the wonton soup and the garlic ribs, it was a complete disaster. The garlic ribs had absolutely no meat on it it was all fried breading and just fat, absolutely not appetizing we asked them to take it back and they gave us a problem about taking it back. The wonton soup had a weird taste to it and did not even look or taste like wonton soup. For entrée we ordered the orange chicken, pad Thai, and chicken lomein. I asked if instead of white rice I can substitute it for fried rice and I will pay for the extra and they said no you will have to get the entree fried rice which was $20..... whatever I'm good no thank you. The orange chicken came out cold, the lomein chicken was so rubbery it was not edible. The pad Thai was okay nothing special. The portions are big but the food overall was absolutely disgusting and extremely overpriced. I will never come back here again what a waste !!! Horrible service horrible food horrible experience.
My wife and I had a disastrous experience at Lotus im Resorts World Catskills. Despite advertising itself as upscale fine dining, the restaurant failed to live up to its promises in every aspect. The prices were exorbitant, and the food was nothing short of a disappointment. We ordered the birds nest soup, which was advertised as a specialty, but it turned out to be a tiny bowl of the most disgusting soup we've ever tasted, for a price of $68. The pot stickers were nothing to write home about, and the main course of Mongolian beef was flavorless, with a price tag of $30. The garlic lamb was inedible due to excessive saltiness, and the pork lo mein tasted like plain, mushy spaghetti with no flavor. Our bill came to a whopping $238, including the 20% gratuity they forced us to pay, making it the most expensive and unsatisfactory meal we have ever had. The "full tea service" was a joke. We ordered oolong tea, and they brought us a teapot with a single tea bag floating in it. It was a complete rip-off, and we felt cheated. In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was inedible, the prices were unreasonable. Save your money and go somewhere else.
We visited Resorts World Catskills this past Sunday (11/9) for a quick getaway. While there, we decided to have dinner at Lotus, their Chinese Restaurant. While having dinner at the bar we witnessed the most unprofessional manager (Anita), subordinate (Staphanie) interaction in public for everybody to see. A customer came to the bar to pick up an order she paid for. The bartender told the customer she needed to call her manager before giving here the order. When the manager arrived the bartender showed her who the customer was and explained to her she was the customer who paid for the meal. The manager began to tell the customer she needed to pay for her meal again because the bartender gave her initial order to someone else accidentally. The bartender asked the manager why did the customer have to pay again due to her mistake, the manger replied somebody had to pay for it. While this was going on another employee from Resorts came to the bar to place an order and saw what was going on. He also tried explaining to the manager the she was wrong for trying to charge the customer twice but she could not understanding why. You can tell the other Resorts World employee was getting frustatrated with the situation and decided to pay for the customer meal, rather than forcing the customer to pay twice. The customer reluctantly took the food because she and the rest us knew the manager was wrong for what she was doimg. I'm not sure what was worst; the manager doing this in front of everybody or the her not understanding the customer should not be paying for the restaurant error.
We had 7 pm reservations for a night out which we rarely get. It was a fancy place and i was all dressed up. We chose to go here. We arrived at 650 and sat for a few minutes and then were seated. Drinks came quick. We ordered appetizers and entrees. Our appetizers came out pretty quickly. 40 (7:50pm)minutes after we finished our apps our food still wasn't there. The waitress came over and said I'm sorry your food will be out momentarily. By 815 still nothing not even a return from the waitress to get us more drinks. We tried to get the waitresses attention and we were ignored. So finally we stood up and went to the bar to get the waitresses attention. We tried to find out what was going on as we watched multiple people come in after us and get there food pay there bill and leave. We got nowhere we asked for the manager and the waitresses told us she knew and was trying to get the manager to come over and she kept refusing. So we said we wanted to pay for our appetizers and leave. So finally she got the manager to come over and as we were explaining what was going on she just kept talking over us and ignoring us making excuses but never apologized and we never got an answer. So we paid for our drink and apps and we left. We were never offered any type of compensation or anything. So our date night was ruined and we never got dinner considering the fact that by now it was 9 pm and all of the other resturants were closing besides the diner. Our entire night out was ruined.

Terrible service, terrible wait time. My experience was so horrible that by the time the food FINALLY arrived, I just packed it up myself and got the hell out of there. Reservation was at 830pm, was promptly sitted. Waitress came within 5 min and took our orders in a timely fashion and that's the ONLY good part of the night. We then waited 40 minutes for my husband's coke and glasses of water for the table after asking the waitress twice for them. At 920pm, the server attempted to deliver appetizers to our table that we never even ordered so it had to be sent back. When the wonton soup arrived, a spoon was not provided. So I guess we were expected to slurp/sip the soup from the bowl? Asked the server for a spoon and not one but TWO servers holding the dang spoon walked right by our table and kept walking. Took another 5 min before a spoon was provided. The other appetizer arrived at 925pm so hope lit within me with the thought that the food will now come at a more timely manner. Much to my disgust, it did not. At 945pm, inquired with our waitress when the food will be ready and was given an answer of "now". Their meaning of now must be different than mine because when our entree FINALLY arrived at close to 10pm, I was not even hungry anymore. I just requested to box it all up, paid the bill (with the mandatory 20% tip already tacked on) and got the hell out of there since it was obvious that the customer's time is not respected in this place. The table next to us arrived 30 min after we did and they got their food before us! The little food that we ate was good but this place is now banned from our list. We will NEVER eat here again, and we'll NEVER recommend it.
