Vecchia Ostuni Monza Reviews
Bella scoperta e buoni piatti, particolari...
We found ourselves in this small but beautiful place, it catapulted me to Puglia in an instant, I found very good flavors and very close to my beloved Puglia that I have been going there for forty years, the staff and the owner are very professional and very nice, I really recommend it to those who, like me, love these sublime Apulian flavors 🍾🥂👏👏
Very nice restaurant in the heart of Monza. Serves authentic pugliese dishes. We walked in with no reservation in the month of July. We loved the olive oil they served that we bought a box of 10 from them. Staff is super friendly and they spoke English for those who don’t speak Italian. Our server was Tania who was very friendly and patient with us. Please note that the majority of the dishes in this restaurant are seafood. Best aglio, oleò e peperoncino pasta I’ve had. 10/10 restaurant.🍽️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We chose this restaurant for an evening with friends... and as a true Apulian, I wanted to try and share the products and cuisine of my homeland, in an area that's very lively with young people! The restaurant is small but well-kept and simple... We were truly satisfied with the quality of the products. We tried the meat-based first courses and the orecchiette with turnip tops: everything was excellent, with generous portions! The Apulian bombette were also very good, and we chose them as a central sampler. We finished with tiramisu, and were offered limoncello as a digestif. We will definitely return, not only for the food, but also for the excellent service and the kindness shown to us. Daniele
A great Good and attention.
Posto semplice senza troppe pretese. Cibo buono e tipicamente pugliese. Porzioni abbondanti.
A cozy and intimate restaurant offering a menu featuring Apulian specialties. The menu is mostly seafood-based, with a wide selection of first courses, especially orecchiette, with a variety of sauces and pairings. We chose spaghetti with clams and Cetara anchovies and orecchiette with crabmeat, a truly generous and beautifully presented dish. The fish-based second courses included fillet of amberjack with vegetable caponata and baked sea bass, both very good, as was the fig jam tart we shared. The service was courteous and unobtrusive, although the wait between the two first courses was a bit long. The bill was fair, and we took advantage of the The Fork discount on food. Overall, a pleasant experience for a dinner filled with Southern flavors.
It's a small restaurant located on a busy street with many restaurants. The staff is very friendly, and the service is quick with limited seating, though the tables are a bit crowded. We would have liked more coordination in serving the dishes since we didn't order a full menu. The sea bass was very good, definitely fresh, and the spaghetti with clams was also appreciated. The prices are affordable.
This is my second time there. The location is very nice, with attention to detail. The dishes are very good, beautifully presented, and of excellent quality. For my appetizer, I had a burrata stuffed with pink shrimp and pistachios—it was delicious, I must say. Then came a first course with spaghetti and pink shrimp; you could taste the fresh fish. To finish, a tart with ricotta and fig jam. Everything was delicious.
Overall good experience, white wine and appetizer were the best things
A welcoming yet modestly sized "Pugliese" restaurant located on the central Via Bergamo. The dining room staff was always attentive and helpful, especially when describing many of the dishes, which were in dialect. The waiter certainly deserves special mention: always ready with a joke, but never intrusive, he made us feel at ease. The menu is full of delicious dishes, from appetizers to desserts. We tried to diversify the selections to try as many as possible. The freshness of the fish was the defining characteristic of all the dishes. The prices are in line with the product offered. It was a wonderful culinary experience!
Prezzi popolari
I've been there many times and it's always inspired me, so last night we stopped for dinner with friends. A small restaurant with large, well-spaced tables, it's reminiscent of Apulian tradition. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, but I can't say the same for the owner/manager, who had a somber expression all evening. I understand it's mid-August, but a half-smile, even a fake one, would have been appreciated. The quality of the dishes was questionable. This surprised me greatly, because reading the various reviews, I had the idea of trying authentic Apulian cuisine, but that wasn't the case. I don't understand the reason, perhaps because of the imminent closure, perhaps because several dishes had recently been defrosted, but I didn't enjoy it. The appetizers were acceptable, the capococollo was very good, the rest was quite simple and well-presented. The first and second courses were very questionable, especially the tuna in a crust (no photo), which looked more like a tasteless steak with tons of wet pistachios and a very burnt bottom. This dish was left uneaten. It's a shame, because we were expecting something different, something more. I really appreciated that the owner/manager applied the Fork discount and cancelled the tuna dish.
Salumi duri. Unica eccezione le orecchi…
