Sushi Fighter Moraga Reviews
Hands down for one of the best sushi spots in lamorinda 🥹🥹! Their sushi always taste fresh, flavorful, and beautifully crafted—every bite is a delight. They always make you feel like family, warm welcoming, and always going above and beyond to take care of you 👏 What really stands out is their incredible hospitality. They’ve made special arrangements for us multiple times (shapes made with sushi) and even offered free try-ons, which just shows how much they value their guests.
Updated review: I replaced crab meat for salmon in the lion king roll and added extra sauce. It was just as delicious. I no longer eat shellfish now so I’m glad the substitute was still so good. Yes yes yes to Sushi Fighter. Also, just found out they have all you can eat lunch and dinner! Except Fri&Sat night. We arrived late(nearly 8), they close at 9. We ordered the cherry blossom, California roll, salmon avocado roll, seaweed salad and the lion king(recommended). Drinks: Sake& Sauvignon blanc. We had a good time and the waitress checked in on us before the last call, which we ordered more. We didn’t leave until well after 9(we’ll never do that again; that was rude) but thank you for not acting annoyed or rushing us out. I read some reviews about added tip. We didn’t see that, but I gladly tipped for the service. All was good. Thanks! Added some similar pictures because I didn’t take pics but the pictures match what we ordered. Price for dinner: $90.24 before tip. California roll(8pcs) Avocado salmon roll(8pcs) Tobiko roll(2pcs) 2 Lion king roll (8pcs each) Seaweed salad 2 sake bottles 2 glasses of white wine Miso Soup(on the house) Fairly quick service&professional server.

First time here and it was really good. The rolls were creative and the fish tasted really fresh. Also very impressed with the service. Even though it was a full house the wait staff was very attentive and kept our waters full. We will definitely be back soon to try some of the other rolls.
I've tried other sushi in the East Bay and I always come back to Sushi Fighter every time. They have the freshest rolls and they're always so flavorful and beautiful. I love eating sushi dine in, but Sushi Fighter has done a spectacular job adapting to covid. Usually I'm picky about takeout sushi, but they crush it and the rolls are just as perfect as they would be in the restaurant. My tips: - Start with the hot & spicy Edamame. It's the best app ever. - My two favorite rolls are the Green Dragon & Hot Mamacita. They're the perfect combo with the spiciness of the jalapeños from the Hot Mamacita and the sweetness of the eel on the Green Dragon. - If you're into udon, Chicken or tempura udon is to die for. Perfect low key date night spot for the Gaels.
This place is great. Ive been goin here for years. The rolls are great and the prices are reasonable. The service is standard, not much interaction beyond taking and delivering your order. They are not laboring to be fake friendly which is great for me because i just want good food without the fluff and "professional courtesy" that i often see being unpleasantly demanded by tourists when they visit foreign countries. I love that they have sports on the tv when I've visited. I'm a solo eater and I love spots where i can preserve my solitude and eat good food. This place is one of them. Its the neighborhood sushi joint.
My girlfriend and I come here often and always enjoy the food. Chris does a great job with dishes like the salmon collar, beef short ribs, and sushi rolls, and George is consistently friendly and attentive, making it a great all-around experience.
Great/very friendly staff, specials are constantly updating, very creative rolls as well as the classics, fantastic prices and most importantly very fresh fish! I’ve been to a lot of sushi restaurant in The Bay and this is hands down my favorite. Around dinner time it can get pretty packed but don’t let that deter you, it’s well worth waiting a few minutes to get a table. This place is so good I’ve got two of my friends, who (thought they) hated sushi, to become regulars. These guys and gals really care about/take pride in their craft and it noticeably shines through their food and hospitality. Easily a 10/10, would HIGHLY recommend!
Be patient, the staff are friendly, careful, and the food is well worth the wait. This is a family friendly restaurant, and the location has about eight tables. During peak hours, they're full. I was there for the first time last night on the recommendation of a friend. I had the Incredible and Upgraded Rainbow rolls, and took home some sake sashimi. Sushi chefs are talented and the ingredients are high quality. The flavor combos of the rolls worked well. The play of creamy, crispy, sweet, salty, with the rice texture and fresh sushi wrapper... Delivering on everything that makes sushi great. Not the best at greeting you when you come in, but there is a clipboard to put your name on and that gets the job done. 10/10, will go again.
One of the few all you can eat sushi places in the area. Right at about 30 bucks puts it at quite the deal. They have a ton of rolls, I think around 40 to choose from. A good portion is spicy but most of them have salmon and tuna not just imitation crab meat. No nigiri or sashimi but everything I had, had a good portion of fish. All in all a great place to go, just kinda of the beaten path though.
I've started to come here almost every week. Their service is fast from the time you order to receiving your food. They have a kids menu, lunch specials, and all you can eat sushi on certain days. The vibe is on the more casual side (which I prefer) and the quality of their sushi is excellent.
Sushi Fighter put me back in Japan. The food was great the service was good. But one thing I would say is bad is the bathroom, they need to improve it a bit more.

Some of the roles here are works of art and so tasty. Our family enjoys the donburi and if we feel like a simpler roll the chefs will always make it. During the shutdown we would order by phone and their driver would bring it to the door! Sashimi and sushi in 30 minutes was a comfort to us
Solid bento box, service can be a little bit uneven sometimes. Suggestion for the restaurant, don't take over one of your booths during lunch or dinner service, so patrons cannot sit down. This is just laziness and not a good look. Also paper towels sitting around in the restaurant don't look good either. I know you guys are probably going through a lot right now but try to keep up appearances. But you do you. Your food's good, don't relax too much and in trouble time.
Great local sushi place. Recent change in management and menu but still a quality product which is what you want when talking about raw fish. Staff is friendly and the presentation is now even crazier with plate art and lights in the larger sushi combos. A solid option.

I ate here in October for my first time. It was pretty good. The sushi was great! Reasonably priced for sushi rolls. We got 4 rolls for a total of $56, which seems pretty typical for sushi in our area. We arrived before the busy rush of the evening but as we were leaving there was a very long line waiting to be seated. The place is pretty small with not a lot of tables, so I suggest to arrive before dinner rush time. The only reason I am not giving them 4 stars is because I used the restroom while I was there and it was terribly disgusting. This may have been a one time event, maybe it's usually perfectly clean, but for my visit it was terrible. Sum it up: food was great and I would definitely recommend eating here (maybe just use the restroom before you arrive) My recommendation: try the butterface roll and add cream cheese!

Food was alright. Service was slow. One could attribute it to the crowd, but it is a small place so not sure why it took 25 minutes to get the sashimi sampler. Waited for the rest of our appetizers but it did not arrive. Main course was served another 15 minutes AFTER we finished the sashimi. We cancelled the other appetizer and just finished our dinner.
This sushi restaurant is operated by Chinese instead of Japanese. I ordered katsudon and it was not authentic at all, very Chinese style with broccoli and carrot, and the pork meat was disappointedly dry. Sushi was quite good and tasty. Decoration and atmosphere was not bad , BUT one of the chef kept talking to his friend fairly loud non-stop in Cantonese using a hand-free headset and phone while he was cooking and handling food right in front of him, spraying them with his saliva, got us worried about the hygiene standard here. My friend dining with me understands the Cantonese language. She told me that this chef used lots of profanity in his phone conversation. I found this very unprofessional, it had really ruined the whole atmosphere of our dining experience here. We will never come back. Services from the waitress were very good though, I have to give her 5 stars.

So we didn't get to actually eat here. The menu looked impressive enough, but we were never seated. Our party of 3 arrived there ahead of 2 others: a family of 4 and an elderly couple. The lady asked us to wait for a table to open up. There are only 5 tables available but due to COVID they had to space everyone out. Only 1 booth was occupied from what we could see. "Ok we'll wait" I said. Then she turned to the Caucasian family *behind* us and seated them ahead of us at a table to the side. Her reasoning was that we were 3 and they were 4. The only other available table was one set for 2 people, which was naturally given to the elderly couple. We sat down in the waiting area scratching our heads. Were we just the victims of racial discrimination? Or just plain stupidity? So we left.

Posting this with regret, as we were long time customers and want our local businesses to succeed. Over the past year, however, we have had several terrible experiences with Sushi Fighter, including missing items in orders, a flat refusal to serve us at 8:15 p.m., and problems with online orders. We went in (in person, rather than posting a review) to ask them directly about these issues. Manager and owner offered only excuses. There was absolutely no concern for our experiences, and no apology offered.
Felt ripped off. 2 small sushi rolls for $36.00. Prices have not gone up this much. We eat sushi alot and were not happy with the price. Quality was ok but fool me once :(

The Asian woman with a bob cut(hair) is one of the meanest employees I have ever seen. I’ve been to this place few times for pick up orders and she treats people really bad. I have to wait for 15 to 30 minutes after promised time. It’s alright I understand that if they are busy but should have the curtesy to inform customers about the waiting time. And my food was ready and it was on table for awhile and I ended up staying super late for cold food. Not fair. They have good food but, please change these kind of employees to avoid bad ratings. I honestly don’t comment but I really wanted to show how disappointed I am.
