My favorite place in Morelia, such a nice hidden spot to have a coffee and read your book! The pastries are amazing
Every time I go there, I have a great time, whether it's alone or with friends. They constantly have book launches, projects, or related workshops, and it's always a pleasure to attend or see the content. The atmosphere, drinks, and food are delicious; I think the price/portion ratio is good. They also have some great titles, some I haven't even seen in other bookstores, as well as some things that aren't just books.
Summary: A beautiful refuge filled with books, R&B music, coffee, and love. Very good prices, attentive service, and the company of the local mascots. It's a beautiful café-bookstore, with the vibe of a refuge for hippies (and aspiring hippies) from the early 1970s. The coffee is very good, and their cold drinks are excellent, something to keep in mind now that temperatures are starting to rise. Their vegetarian menu is extensive and varied. I highly recommend it.
I love the concept of this bookstore; they have a section dedicated to Mexican women writers. The children's section is also very comprehensive. The coffee is excellent, and the desserts are delicious, especially the keto chocolate cake (flourless and sugar-free). If you visit Morelia, you absolutely must visit this bookstore; you'll love it, not to mention the excellent service.
There's a cafe, but I only visited to browse the books and enjoy the literary gatherings. I loved the place; it's original, and, as its name suggests, the substance of what it offers is its best; but there's also plenty of style, and its decor is unique. Books by women writers are front and center. For book lovers, this place is a must-see.
A super cute and pleasant place. They have a variety of titles from independent publishers, as well as a wonderful children's reading section. The cafe area is very good; everything is worth trying; it's super delicious and healthy. The decor is also authentic. The fact that the bookstore is in a building in the historic center makes it truly charming. It's a great place to read.
It's a bookstore café; it's interesting, small, but very peaceful. They have books to read there and also books to buy. If you have any questions, the staff will gladly help you find what you're looking for or offer recommendations. I bought two books for my children. Where the place fell a little short for me was the coffee. I love coffee and something nice to drink with it. I found the price a bit high for the portion, and mainly because it was poorly made. It was a latte, but it had too much coffee, and the milk texture was off. For the price of the drink, you'd expect a little more effort. But that's just my personal opinion. Honestly, it's a recommendable place, and maybe you could order a different drink.
I ordered a cold brew that literally tasted like dirt, so I thought they'd given me some tea by mistake. It was the color of dirty water and had sediment at the bottom. The girl went to "check" and never came back. If that was cold brew, then it was seriously watered down. The food was unremarkable. We had to put up with the hostess's bad attitude and very poor service from the waitress. It's a shame that the city's "alternative" places are plagued by bad practices.
This place is listed in the Terror Restaurants database for abusing its employees. In my opinion, they haven't demonstrated the feminist principles they claim to uphold through posters and events. I hope they change that soon; otherwise, I don't recommend going there, and if you do go, remember to tip the employees well.
The place is nice, but the person who runs the place makes for the worst experience. She's an unfriendly person who makes you feel inferior, from the way she treats you to asking us to wash our hands as soon as we walked in. I think it's fine as a COVID safety measure, but she didn't ask the other people who arrived later and went straight in to sit down. They seemed like acquaintances... With kids running around and throwing things... The uneven treatment and the experience at the place were super unpleasant... The drinks are reasonably priced, but the taste isn't as spectacular as the menu shows... I don't recommend the place at all...
