We shared the plantain croquettes. My friend had the ginger mescalini while I had the Oaxacan cooler. She had the magic mushroom dish. I had the huitlacoche enchiladas. I had the bread pudding. My friend had the chocolate mousse cake. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent.

The Haute Enchilada Cafe, Galleries & Social Club If you have never been there, go online and check them out, familiarize yourself with their business hours, and the days of the week they are open. So make a plan, grab a friend, and get on over there. The Haute Enchilada Cafe, Galleries & Social Club is an experience, not just a place to eat. The food will tease your taste buds, and the open bar with the award-winning mixtures and drinks, is Tantalizing, Sit and twirl your fork, eat, Laugh, and have a wonderful experience in the outside Secret Garden, courtyard beautifully placed and decorated with sculptures, and an array of plump bushy succulents and flowers, with a history of old moss landing wagon wheels, wagons, old retired boats, and boat artifacts from a time before. Baby sparrows playing in the air, Prince Charming Kento The Greeter, Harley the Huge Tortoise, Visit The Resident Owls, and if you have guests coming to visit who want a Privet Queit Safe Getaway ask about the little Cottages. The Gift- Gallery You must not miss! Amazing and will hold your attention as you gaze at all the carefully selected Art and Gift. Treat Yourself.

Why doesn't this place have a Michelin Star? The food is exquisite. Complex and sophisticated. A real hidden gem. Definitely worth trying if you ever pass through Moss Landing.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Haute Enchilada Cafe, Social Club, and Gallery in Moss Landing, CA, and it was truly a delightful experience -- a wonderful getaway dining destination. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in its unique and lovely atmosphere. The Haute Enchilada not only offers delicious food but also serves as a social hub and gallery, making it a must-visit destination. The totally delicious food was complemented by the beautiful restful garden sanctuary patios, offering a serene setting to enjoy a meal. The colorful dining room is also lovely if you’d like to dine indoors. The menu features a diverse selection of Latin American-themed dishes, each bursting with flavor and color. We both ordered and enjoyed the Two Haute Chicken Enchiladas al Mole – a tantalizing combination of house-made mole poblano, jack, cheddar, greens, tomato, avocado scoop, garnished with onion, cilantro, and sour cream. Diners can also choose carnitas pork, braised beef, roasted veggies, or cheese if preferred. Incredible mole sauce! The dish also included of black beans, Spanish rice, or quinoa and we enjoyed the black beans and Spanish rice. The Peruvian empanadas were another standout dish, with their vibrant colors and bold flavors. Stuffed with squash blossoms, zucchini, and cotija cheese, and accompanied by a zesty chile de arbol aioli, they were a true culinary delight. We also indulged in the shrimp enchiladas, which were filled with flavorful shrimp and other veggies, adding a delightful twist to the meal. The staff was professional and helpful and the owner, Kim, is a delight! One additional charming aspect of our dining experience was Quinto, the 4-pawed greeter—an elegant, gentle large steel gray poodle who visited our table simply to be sure we were enjoying our meal. His presence added to the warm and inviting atmosphere of The Haute Enchilada. In addition to the colorful dishes on the menu, The Haute Enchilada also features an art gallery, showcasing the work of local, regional and international artists. filled with beautiful handmade jewelry, gorgeous dishes, unique leather purses, blankets, crafts and much more. Moss Landing, where The Haute Enchilada is situated, is a charming area filled with nature's wonders. It's a popular spot for antiquing, surfing, and nature watching. Located at the mouth of Elkhorn Slough, one of California's largest wetland areas and home to hundreds of species, Moss Landing offers a tranquil escape from city life. Overall, our experience at The Haute Enchilada was nothing short of fantastic and is an incredible experience! It truly provides a wonderful getaway feeling when going with family or friends. Whether you're looking for a casual meal, a social gathering, an air bnb getaway (there are 5 cottages here), or an artistic experience when shopping and enjoying their beautiful gallery, The Haute Enchilada delivers. We can't wait to return soon and explore more of what this unique establishment and Moss Landing have to offer. Very highly recommended!

Food and service were both amazing. This lovely older couple paid for our table (hearing that we were women in tech) which was the most genuine gesture of kindness ever, coming here made our day!

Whst makes Haute Enchilada Cafe special is the atmosphere, it is eclectic and relaxing. Almost every table offers some level of seclusion and privacy provided by the succulents and tropical greenery that has created natural walls or screens. The food is yummy, first time I've had an enchilada topped with mole sauce, different but tasty. The menu offers other Latin dishes with a twist. I highly recommend ordering the haute margarita, enjoy it while taking in the gardens. The service is excellent, on our visit it wad busy but we never had to wait for iur drinks and meals. If you're in the area, it is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the drive.

A Flavorful Adventure at Haute Enchilada Cafe! 🦀🌿 Discovering Haute Enchilada Cafe in Moss Landing was like stumbling upon a hidden gem. The first thing that hits you is the enchanting garden setting. You find yourself surrounded by local coastal plants, creating a serene atmosphere that perfectly complements your meal. And speaking of meals, this place is a testament to Latin seafood flair at its finest. The freshness of the ingredients is undeniable. Everything is locally sourced and organic, a commitment that you can taste in every bite. From the expertly crafted cocktails, to the appetizers, and onto the main course, we were consistently amazed by the depth and balance of flavors. The roasted poblano soup was a particular favorite of mine - it had a rich, smoky flavor that was simply divine. My son was completely taken with his sand dabs, declaring them the best he's ever had! The Haute Enchilada Cafe is truly a unique dining experience, where the enchantment of the setting is matched only by the quality and creativity of the food. If you find yourself in Moss Landing, do yourself a favor and indulge in a meal here. We're already planning our next visit!

Excellent. All around excellent. Save us a seat because we're going back. And try anything. Open yourself up to the zen of dining. And thank you Kinta for being such a wonderful ambassador of the Haute Enchilada Social Club. He's soooo soft and cuddly.

Amazing Gourmand find - literally a secret container garden in the middle of a Marina. Unexpected joy! Choose from a broad menu, roughly influenced by the flavors of Mexico. I had an excellent Mole sauce that paired very well with the Mexcal Marguerita. Get in your car and drive to Moss Landing and enjoy! #dogfriendly

One of the best new Mexican fusion restaurants I have visited. The patio garden setting is magical with gorgeous plants (mostly succulents) and flowers and antique artifacts (like a wooden cart with wooden wheels)

A great restaurant with a "good" different touch to drinks and food. It also has a gallery with antique and handicraft collection which is a good place to stop by and shop if you like. I ordered deep fried artichokes and veg lasagna which was polenta based, both were well made.

Excellent service and food, unique artisan and artist exhibits, unique location and setting. Well eorth a visit---authentic Mexican food, plus a great selection of exceptionally fresh local seafood, and a good selection of wine and cocktails. I had the sauteed sand dabs, plus a delicious house salad with fresh tomatoes and a good selection of greens, all exquisitely prepared, and paired with a glass of house Chardonnay, and thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. A gem of a restaurant in charming Moss Landing, on California's fabled Central Coast.

Great place for a weekend causal brunch or meal. Features Latin American food. Good service. Funky bar, colorful artworks, outdoor and indoor seating, live video feed to the nesting area of a barn owl on the property, ATM machine on premises, and free little library out front!

I sort of forgot about this place, had not been in a number of years. I am happy to report though that the food is still very good. The stand out was the Peruvian empanadas. Absolutely perfect super crisp flaky flavorful shell, you could probably put dirt inside of them and they would taste amazing. Luckily though there was a very tasty filling so have no fear. Very good Mezcal selection as well, and they do a good job with the quality and variety of the cocktails. Overall a bit on the pricey side that being said it seems impossible to go out anywhere decent these days in SC with two people and not spend at least $100. Definitely coming back.

Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, awesome food, rude owner/female manager and expensive Ceviche. 2nd time here...you must have a call in reservation or no service. Hostesses accommodated us on side table...again food was delicious, great staff! Love this place...I fly hundreds of miles to dine here. Once I save up another $100.00 for 4 drinks, Chips n salsa and small Ceviche I'll be back🙂

A lovely location, and we sat outside as the weather was quite nice. You'll need a fat wallet to eat here. Three of us had lunch (and one margarita) at the cost of over $80, which for me is excessive for a lunch. The deep-fried artichoke hearts were $10.95 and the portion quite small. They were, however, delicious. My Spicy Tsunami Sandwich ($16.95) was fiery hot (yum!), the meat tender, and the bread crisp. The Rosemary Chicken Panini ($14.95) one friend ordered looked divine, but my other friend ran into trouble when she ordered the Chile Relleno Trotsky at $16.95. She'd specifically chosen this restaurant for their vegetarian offerings, and as the ingredients listed were all vegetables, she thought she was safe. Not until it was delivered did she discover than mole sauce is made with chicken broth. At first, staff offered to scrape the sauce off and replace it with pumpkin mole, but for a strict vegetarian, that is of course not acceptable. Eventually, my friend was able to trade her meal for one that was completely vegetarian (veggie enchiladas with pumpkin mole at $18.95). I'd like to suggest that the restaurant mark their offerings more clearly to make it easier for folks to order completely vegetarian food. My friend realizes she should have inquired, but if clearly marked, these mistakes can be avoided. I would not recommend the house margarita at all. It was very bland, no tequila flavor to speak of, and not worth the $9.00 price tag.

Service and atmosphere here are above and beyond. There's also a very friendly grey poodle roaming the property and greeting customers. Food was unfortunately underwhelming. The chicken in my mole enchiladas was a bit dry and flavorless. Mole sauce however was delicious. The haute-rita was refreshing and had a good kick from the Serrano pepper. Overall a very nice vibe to be in and worth trying for yourself at least once, especially on a beautiful day.

Interior and atmosphere is great but I didn't like my main course which was Torta Cubana. It didn't taste good, the meat seemed fatty. Ceviche was also spicy as hell. Dessert and coffee were great. Staff was also kind.

Id give this place 5 stars for decor but I can only give it 2 stars for service and food! The ambiance and decor was cool and artsy. The food? was cold and the service was rash and rude! This place is hard to find at night because there's several locations baring the name So make sure you know exactly where to go! They close at 9 but in actuality... as we found out the hard way, it really means is they want to be out of there by 9... I arrived before 8 my friend was waiting before I could take off my coat or sit my purse down the waitress was up on us asking to take our orders! ? I thought.. uh? Can we maybe look at our menus first? then she told us we needed to order now because the kitchen was already closed! Closed? Oh so your not serving food? Not everything but you need to hurry and order within the next 5 mins! So we quickly make our selections! Ready to order and completely ignored worth her back to us the waitress chit chats away to a couple sitting at a corner table. Then without even a glimpse in our direction she jets away! Hello? We could've finished our first drink had we been offered to even order one! Finally 15 minutes later she finally graces us to order I'll have the salmon, Could have it blacken? "NO" no? Why not? Because we don't have the spices! ? Well Can you at least ask the chef? No! we cant do it! Okay... Since i can't have it blackened! What about burnt? Burnt "Yes that we can do!" ? LOL! Go figure! Anyway we start eating and our fish is barely warm and the rice is cold dry & tasteless! Rrrrr! We walked out of there before 9 yeay! But completely disappointed!😞 loved the place hated the service! I'm going to give the restaurant itself the benefit of the doubt! And another chance because i believe the event that transpired is isolated. Having said that... Next time, I'll be sure to arrive much earlier say 6 or 7! just to be on the safe side!😲FAIR WARNING!
