Cafetotal Motril Reviews
Good food, delicious tapas with beer and the quantity for tapas big enough. Services should be improved
Casual street side cafe with umbrellas and seafood tapas. We ordered beer, wine and waters and got free tapas. 4 platas. Fish and calamari was Fresh fresh fresh. Muy Bien!!!
Tapas, Beer and heated outdoor Tables. What more do you need?
A classic that's always a safe bet if you enjoy a variety of fish and fried dishes. They also have other options besides seafood, all equally delicious. The service is quick and friendly. Even when it's busy and you have to wait a bit, you'll get a table. The migas (a traditional breadcrumb dish) and roasted potatoes are excellent choices, as are the roscas (a type of bread roll). This is a surefire option.
We've been going to this family-run bar for years, first to the one on Calle Cañas and now to this one because it's closer. The food is delicious, plentiful, and the service is friendly, quick, and attentive. It has a large terrace open from certain times (midday and evening) and a variety of tapas, all very well presented and delicious. They also have beer and cold drinks, and the manager is always on hand. Highly recommended.
Good food and good service. We arrived a little late and ordered a half portion and a bread roll for two, along with the tapas for our drinks. We had almost half a roll left over, which they gave us to take away. The whole meal was very good and very well priced. The half portions and tapas were very generous. A good place to come back when we return.
Good fish tapas
Very good
I went to dinner with my family, and the truth is that the service leaves a lot to be desired. Although the waiter is prompt, he's quite unpleasant and unfriendly, even though you, as a diner, are polite and friendly. Therefore, it leaves a lot to be desired, and it puts you off being there.
A typical Motril tapas place where you can enjoy any drink with your tapa. They served us some migas with fish, which were good, but we had previously ordered migas with fish, and instead of warning us, the tapa was actually migas. Well, they weren't supposed to change it, but that didn't happen. Their waiter was inattentive, despite not seeing much work.
Ok
Although the terrace is very pleasant and they make it clear that the tapa is a courtesy and not an obligation, they served tapas to all the surrounding tables, but not to us. After this, instead of eating there, we asked for the bill and went elsewhere.
Delicious food with excellent service. It's just a shame we could only pay cash, didn't get a receipt, and the price suddenly went from €22 to €32 within a minute. Special tourist prices?
Zero empathy for the neighbors. We've told them several times to please not knock over tables and chairs or make noise when cleaning up, but they ignore us. We've been doing this for years, and they ignore us. We can't sleep until they close. Would they like to live through this situation? Zero empathy, I repeat.
The truth is, it was a disappointment, even though we came on a recommendation. Of the few tapas available (we went at 3 p.m., an hour before closing time), we first ordered three drinks with three tapas: Russian salad (which could easily have been mashed potatoes because it was overcooked and I didn't see much of a trace of any other ingredient), squid (good), and dogfish (three heavily battered pieces with chopped lettuce). Then, another drink with a tapa of squid, a portion of huevos rotos (which, while admittedly a generous portion, the eggs came with the yolks cooked and were just plain), and two more drinks that didn't come with a tapa. It's true that they didn't ask us, and we didn't say anything because the portion was already enough. But our surprise came when the bill was charged for all our drinks as if they had brought tapas. We politely asked the waiter if this was correct, and he replied that drinks are charged the same whether or not they serve tapas. We told him that if that was the case, they hadn't even asked us if we wanted it or not, or at least said they would charge for it anyway. The waiter again replied that since we had ordered the tapas, he had assumed we wouldn't want a tapa. It may be common in Granada, but if you're from outside and don't know, the truth is they charge you for service they didn't provide, without warning, because they assume you don't want it. I mean, I've never seen anything like this, especially in Granada, where I come from time to time. I should also add that when we ordered soft drinks, they only brought the soft drink. They never replaced our glasses with ice and a new lemon. It's perhaps a minor detail, but the service truly amazed us. It's certainly a shame, but I wouldn't go back.
